T-Mobile USA Gmail problem - Touch HD General

After installing the cab for my plan (5.99) from this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3639801#post3639801, Gmail no longer works on my phone. I am using it on T-Mobile in the US. Can anyone help? I tried going through the directions on the google website, that didn't help.

GMAIL Mobile APP certificate error on T-mobile WM6

Has anyone figured out how to solve the issue with the Gmail mobile Java app and the "Your phone doesn’t have the appropriate certificate to communicate with Gmail" error?
I used to have a motorola razr, and the app worked just fine, so it's not T-mobile blocking me ... but rather something in WM6.

Actually, i just tried this the other day with My Wing, and I had no issues. But, I have had issues before when I was using the Standard T-Mobile ROM. Currently I am using the Touch-IT Rom.
As an FYI for anyone having problems with the stock TMO rom's ... after installing the PDAVIET TouchFlo rom, the GMAIL app works flawlessly, but I had to install the java from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1483665&postcount=24
i prefer to check it from PIE. my homepage is set up as google and it includes GMail (showing last 5 emails) as well as a few other blogs. Checking for new mail without even logging in makes it very quick, just load up PIE. I gave up with the gmail app a while ago...
Yeah, I have google setup as my homepage too... which is nice, but I like the ability to use the gmail app since it has more off the options you would get on the actual site.
Plus there's that whole "hell yeah" feeling you get when you finally get something to work that been making you crazy for the past 2 months! haha... similiar to my getting the resized mms problem fixed.
great results!
Have to verify duprade - I am running a stock wing and simply installed the cab, started that version of Java and ran the Gmail mobile app (no cert prompt or anything.....)
--paklids.
Glad you got it working. I was certainly relieved when I got it to work.... funny thing is I barely use it ... I just want it to work when I do need it.
I actually got this to work by downloading the file on my phone. When it tried to run it, i got the cert error. but i opened esmertec jbed, went to menu, install, local file and it finds the gmail file. Click gmail in the list and it will start the install.
Working fine for me now. You do have to hit yes a few times for it to connect...but this should work. let me know.
I do this also, but the only problem is that it does not display attachments, such as photos. Any ideas on how to fix that?
Thanks.

What? I am not following you here. Google IM is free and other IMs in the IM client that came with the phone use SMS, Google is the only one that uses data. I use Google all the time.

Gmail-"Your Email will appear shortly." Error

I've had my phone for 5 days now. I had called T-Mobile twice from home then at a T-mobile store after changing out my phone and SIm Card.
My Gmail app always shows "Your Email will appear shortly." Error"(everything but gmail synchronizes). But when I made a new email account it worked fine. I try to search this before posting, but I have not found a similar topic. Anybody's help is much appreciated .
Thanks in advance
RP
I'm going to bump this. I did the RC33 upgrade and got Root done via the directions on sticky's and my Gmail still isn't working.

Hot Questions, No Answer found HELP!!

I got the Tablet this morning, and was very happy that it arrived so quickly. However, it seems that there is a several bugs in the system that I don’t know what to do about it.
Yahoo messenger will install, allow you to enter your log in information, but will get stuck on yahoo screen with the smiley face, and “loading contact list.” but will NOT load in. Skype and Nimbuzz works fine BTW.
Pandora Radio will not load at all, and will give several error messages. Boots to Pandora splash screen with the following message Pandora http error occurred code: 417 startupAsyncTask
Sling Media player will log in but won’t load the video.
Since I’m deployed in Iraq, it would be much easier to try to fix the problem before thinking of returning the tablet, so, I used Rom Manager, and tried clearing the cached data associated with it. Restored to factory setting. Then I got in contact with Yahoo who after 2 hours of tech support cannot tell me why this is happening. Pandora referred me to Samsung, and Sling Media don't offer support for the tablet, they only offer support to their software. I really don’t have the time and tools to chase tech support from here. Can someone HELP PLEASE?
I'm in South Korea, and I cannot get many US based services, such as Pandora, Hulu, even last.fm will not work here. Amazon is asking if I live in the US and will not let me purchase books or music because I am outside the US.
This may be the problem you are having. But I did not have any problem with Yahoo mail using the Yahoo mail app.
Perhaps you need to set the tab for WiFi only? Just a guess.
i'm using WIFI, and My tablet is GT-P1000 UK model. Oh one more problem i forgot to earlier. i use VPN, it will let me connect but i will have no connectivity to any thing after that. should i flash my tablet? would that solve the problem? if so is there is a full guide, and files on how to flash a UK tablet to stock ROM
Its peobibily because you need to be in the uk to use those services. Try a uk based vpn with web access
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Thanks but i dont think the UK VPN got anything to do with it.
Worth a try

Unable to use market or log in to Talk

I have a new Streak and I am on Froyo/2.2. The market worked fine on my old phone.
I can't download anything from the market place. I had this problem last year when I changed from googlemail to gmail. I returned to my googlemail address, since when I have not had that problem - until now.
I have read that you have to log in to Talk, which I have never had to do before. It won't log in to Talk, coming up with a message 'Google Talk authentication failed'.
I can access my google mail/contacts/calendar with no problems.
Anyone know the solution to this?

I don't have the answer but I'm having the same problem. Just flashed a new build of unstable aospGBmod02012011 on my hero. I think I'll try reflashing gapps to see if that works.
Android Market Troubleshooting
I replaced my phone. The new one worked fine.
