Hi,
i have a very disapointing situation with my NOKIA HS-12W. I have this gadget from 2 months, and now everybody started to complain, that they cant understand our conversation when i am using my headset. It is only 70 cm from my device when i am driving, it is in th holder. But the sound quality is good only when there is less than 20 cm between the device and the headset. They said, that the sound is noisy and they hear only parts of the words. Do you have the same experience, and is there any solution for that? Or i should reconsider the value of the bluetooth feature of this devce.
Many thanks for any help
jep same situation here. got a t-mobile Rom installed and also using Nokia HS-12W. only the first week i reached the +- 9 till 10 meters distance. I have changed some registry settings and now it doesn't work any more. just 20 cm for stereo sound and a lot of stuttering.
i get almost 30 feet from my HT820 and i-take bluepro headphones. i haven't tested my Jabra250, but it's probably pretty good.
Yes, i tought the same, that i have made some registry changes which caused this. But now, after a hard reset , without any registry changes i have the same problem

same here... I've set my registry setting to medium quality so I've reduced the stuttering when it's on my side on my belt. When it's in headset mode I can move further but I can not move as long as 10 meters... s..cks.
Other choice was the SE HBH with the same design I think a 'normal' headset cannot be worn on the streets...
I have the Sony Ericsson stereo bt headset (simliar hang-around-the-neck style as the Nokia). When listening to music, I can't move the phone any further than my belt-clip without having the sound break-up.
So, in my experience, the maximum effective range is 10-20 cm. :x
wich ROM versions does everybody using?
Mine is: UNI_TMNL_130115_130233_11003_WWE_BL101_Ship
this is the latest T-mobile Rom what i know.
I am so sad. Until this i was so proud of having tis device.Today i talked with the QTEK service here in Hungary, and what they told, made me disapointed. They told, there was no solution for that. The Bluetooth antenna is too small, and there is nothing to do. So what is in the specification is a big lie. And they knew it. All we could do it to sue them . This device is to big for using as a standard phone. But with this bluetooth feature there is no other option
The Bluetooth Antenna on the Universal is fine, I can use Bluetooth ActiveSync to connect with my PC and it keeps signal even if I stand in the next room - so the problem is probably your Bluetooth headsets having a weak antenna, not the Universal...

I also have no problems with the bt range for transering files & synching. I also was satisfied with the range & quality with mono bt headsets for telephone calls. However, for bt stereo the range has been quite disappointing.
hello where in the registry did you change those setings ?.. i want to try it out
me too wanna try this.
Im under a time constraint on this I have done as much of a search as i can and have posted questions about it but not had a huge amount of help on the matter. So i went out and bought a bluetooth stereo headset (dont know the make but this is the same model on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=230047819063&rd=1&rd=1 ) and a qstarz BT-Q800 gps.
I dloaded and ran the A2DP cab for the stereo headset.
Now runing wmp10 i can listen to music at a quality that is ok, and it works for the phone too. switching back to the music when the call is over.
Iwant to be able to listen to the music and have tomtom5 do its voice over the top of the music (like i can on the wired headphones) but as soon as i run tomtom 5 the audio starts to cut out and continues to do so even after i close tomtom5, i then have to do a soft reset to get the audio back correctly.
The time constraint i have is if its down to the XDA and fixable by a patch i will keep the headset, if not i'll return the headset. So having the headset since sat i need to sort this one way or another so i can get my money back.
Many thanks and I would do more searching but really need the help on this one.

thanks...it's more stereo now but now i'm experiencing"hissing"sound which never
before. can i adjust it to any other value? is there any combination i should follow?
thanks..
I found that "hissing" is dependant on the headset used.
My plantronics have almost no hiss, while my cheap i-tech things have lots.
Anybody else have the option to compare different headsets?

I use Samsung H200 for Handsfree - it has a sligt his when it initially connects which disappears as soon as the call is connected.
My Plantronics 590 headset has no hiss and sound absolutely clear and crisp.
Maybe the right placeereo head set and I paired it with my 7500 as a stereo head set

And your problem is?
Oooooooops...
I didn't realize the whole message was missing,it is like when the celular line fails and you keep on talking...
Well so I have this magnificient Motorola headset S9 and I sucessfully paired it as a Hanfree and a Stereo headset
Everything is working perfect, except the fact that when I activate the voice tag (which usually with oter BT headset works perfectly) I cannot hear the beep telling me to say the voice tag and also I cant hear the confirmation (that the PDA understood what I said)
The voice tag DO work and if I am lucky it dials what I say but I can know only when someone pickup from the other side ....
when i dis-pair the stereo headset,it is working again.
I know it is not the most horrible problem reported in this forum, but if anyone can help....
How to play music via bluetooth device
I've got a set of Harman/kardon Soundstick II speakers and i wan't to play music wirelessly from my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6000 series) onto it i.e I don't wanna plug the speakers directly into the laptop.
I bought the Sony HWSBTA2W Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver and have managed to connect/link it to my laptop. The problem is however, how do you get a music program such as Windows Media Player to play music via the Sony device. I have managed to play music from my Nokia 6600 phone through the device successfully but am unable to play music from my laptop. The Sony device appears as a bluetooth headset in my list of bluetooth devices, but does not appear as a speaker on my laptop.
And oh yes, my laptop is wireless and bluetooth enabled.
Or Is there another wireless dongle or bluetooth item of some kind that i can plug my speakers into and will stream the music down from my laptop.

Just got my x10 few days ago.
was trying to link it to my car via bluetooth.
I have a 09 mazda 6
the bluetooth hands free and aduio works well with my previous device, which is x1.
but for x10, it shows that link is successfull, but when i play the music, there is no sound comes out from the car's speaker at all.
so then I tried with hands free, so i make my frd to call me, the display of the car does show the number, but when i picked up the phone call, my frd's voice wont come out from the car's speaker as well, it comes out on the phone's speaker, during the main time, both car's mic and the mic in the phone, wont get my voice, my frd didnt hear anything.
my other frd, which owns a 09 arcura tsx have the exactly same problem with me.
does anyone else have the same problem with me ?

I have the same issue with my connectors in my car (mercedes benz 09 12V) hands-free and stereo syncs with the X10 but does nothing at all. I think this is in particular a bug to be fixed with the Android update. I dont really mind since I use the carĀ“s system to bump it up.
hopefully the 2.1 will fix this, thks bro.
Connection to car audio system via auxiliary cable
Hi, I am new to the forum and this is my first post.
I tried to connect my X10 via auxiliary cable to my car's audio system and I am able to hear music through my car speakers but if I want to use this method to call someone I can hear the ringing and the other person through car speakers but they cannot hear me, even if I speak directly to the phone's mic. The only way they can hear me if I unplug the auxiliary cable from the phone. Does anyone know if there's a solution to this ? Thanks,
i have nissan 370z touring with bluetooth. works fine my with car. shows phone number and i can place calls and receive calls fine.

Hi
I connect to a Parrot 3100 with no real issues. I did get better performance when putting the latest firmware on my parrot.
The issues I DO have is from the key lock. If its on, I have many issues with phonebooks, answering calls and ending them.
cheers

To fix this you need to plug in the sony adapter that came with your phone, then plug in your auxiliary cable to that adapter then your car system. The x10 doesn't recognize mic that aren't manufactured by Sony, so they have to pass through the adapter for someone to hear you on the other end.
I am trying to use my x10 with nokia's bluetooth carkit 7w. I get an connection, then it disconnects, shows its connected on the top of the screen, but i'll be buggered if it is. I have to reboot the phone to get it to connect, and then o repeat the sequence of events. If this is a compatibilty issue, can anyone recomend a carkit?
X10 connected to Toyota Prius hands-free with no problem. But turn on X10's bluetooth before turning on your car.
Sound like most of you guys showing off your car more fine
My bluetooth have the same problem (chrysler pacifica 06) and locale suck as i have to flip on the phone for bt to turn on.

Hi all,
I have the Plantronics Discovery 975 bluetooth headset which has never given me problems before on previous HTC phones, but I now hear crackling whenever someone speaks...
Are there other bluetooth headset users with the same problem?
+1 voyager pro sametimes cracle sometimes no

We bought two SGS2 and two Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth headset at work. I got one of the phones and one of the headset and I'm having the exact same problem as you have. My other colleague who were happy enough to recieve the other phone does not have any cracking noise which is rather weird.
I even tried my headset connected to his SGS2, i had to make sure my head wasn't messing up the signal or something lol... and it worked fine, so it's something with the phone i guess.
In this thread they talk about KE7 having a new sets of Bluetooth profiles and what not. Perhapes Samsung recognized there was some bug and changed things around.. But i'm only guessing here.
In case anyone is wondering:
Yes, both phone and headset was fully charged when tested.
Yes, both phones and headsets were tested in the same room around the same time so it cant be interference from external sources as it didn't bother the other SGS2.
I'm using KE2 over here. I forgot to check what version my colleague is using but we got the phones the same day from the same store so I bet he is using KE2 as well.
Did both phones have WiFi enabled or disabled?
Come to think of it, I think i had it enabled on mine but not on the other phone. I'll try compare them again and this time have wifi off on both phones.
I had a 975 for about two weeks before I returned it. I wasn't getting consistent performance on either my G2 (HTC), G2X (LG), or Vaio P (Sony). I replaced it with a BlueAnt Q2 and didn't have any problems with the same devices. It works really well on the SGS2 for phone, media, and Voice Talk. The 975 also wasn't A2DP and I like to listen to music and audio on my headset sometimes.
I tried disabling the wifi, not sure if its just now or not but, it seems to be working better. I still hear the crackling noise every now and again but not like before. However i think i will keep using my SE MW600. It delivers more solid performance and the sound quality is better as well. Maybe it's because the MW600 supports A2DP.. i cant really tell.
HTC HD2 Tmobile USA I am also having serious crackling problems...to the point of contacting Plantronics to replace my Voyager Pro and pay $49 for refurbished headset. Distance to phone 2 feet and only getting 1 bar on bluetooth strength. Any sort of obstruction like moving head between headset and phone still at 2 ft away...noticeable crackling and 1 or less BT signal strength on phone. With Wifi enable crackling increases. Connecting to a linksys router just 3 ft away is quite fast but still only 3 signal strength. Turning off bluetooth causes a rise in wifi signal strength but zero bars if more than 10 ft from router. I hard reset but problems still existed.
Extensive research on the problem came across issues about bluetooth and wifi electronics on circuitboard are side-by-side and has something to do with the negative affect on each other.
Anybody have similar "crackling" audio or crackling sound and / or LOW signal when close to phone or wifi routers. I welcome any suggestions at this point.

Jawbone and bluetooth crackling
Hi,
I have a Jawbone Prime which I used for my iPhone 4, which was crystal clear, now I've used it a couple of times with my S GS2 and so far I'm struggling to get a clear call quality.
I thought it was the headset but I have tried it with a friends Advantax speakerphone and that happens the same, every 10 sec's it goes quite and crackles to the point that it's impossible to actual have a conversation!
My phone is only 3 weeks old is it worth exchanging it or will I get the same problem if its a software issue??
Help please
BTW I have just spoken to a lady from Samsung about this issue, to find out if it is a handset issue or software. After being passed around saying it was the headset, though I explained I have tried another 2 headsets, she now said my headset is not compatible.
When I asked her for a list of compatible headsets she put me on hold and then came back saying 'Please go to an accessory store to find out'.
I don't like being fobbed off but I believe Samsung are doing that to me and everyone else! I asked if they were fixing this issue, as there are other forums of this issue, she couldn't answer that question funny enough!
I'm now going to try another handset with my sim and the headset as I work in CPW, finger crossed!
I don't know if I am having the same issue as you guys. You are describing it as "crackling"? My connection falls into a state where the audio sounds as if the bandwidth is REALLY low. So the other person's voice is choppy - really fast choppy - I don't mean intermittent sound.
If I briefly transfer the audio to the phone and then back to the handsfree device again it clears up.
This happens in my car which has a Parrot CK6100 and also our BMW mini built-in bluetooth system.
I have a UK Orange branded SGS2 with KE2 firmware.
Could someone try doing the above and see if it clears up the audio?
As a side issue, stereo audio over a2dp works without problems so it is not a signal strength issue.
+1 Discovery 975
Better with wifi off, but still crappy sound.
I have been having a problem with my bluetooth crackling in my car for a very long time now. I did a search and found this very old thread. I wanted to bump it up to see if anyone else is having a problem like this and if there is any known troubleshooting steps we could take. As previous people have posted, stereo bluetooth works fine, its just on calls with my car that it intermittently crackles. I can toggle the connection to my phone and back to my car to clear it up, but who wants to do that? This happens nearly every call. I thought it was my car so I ignored it but I recently tried my phone in a different car and had the same issue. Ironically, I never have this issue with regular bluetooth headsets, only with cars. Anyone else have a problem like this?
