Hi everyone,
I was wondering if the chefs could put the HTC Footprints into their roms?
I've noticed it that Footprint is only available on the newest HTC Cruise.
Altough most chefs uses the ROMS from Diamond2 (now) which doesn't have Footprints, do you think it would be possible to implement it into D2 Rom?
PS: i'm not sure to put it into the ROM dev-section, sorry if it's in the wrong section.
the upcoming release from SE, R3A, is going to feature its own geo-tagging facility through the camera application

but it seems there are some problems with the geotagging & i always get "no info" in my information page of the picture.
Does it give the city name or just the coordinates?
Can sombody explain what "footsteps" are?
I asking this myselfe all the time.

I think he meant "Footprints", and it's a lot more feature than R3A camera apps that just has geo-tagging.
I had Footprints built-in in my 2.x and 3.x series.

Hi all,
i'm new in Xperia world and this forum has been very helpfull for me...
I got manila TFL3D installed on my X1.
I tried to install footprint (not very clever, actually) without HD camera installed.
That does not work at all but the problem is not here : i've lost the text in a menu when i open a picture in TFL3D : the options/actions menu at bottom right is empty.
It opens the menu, i can click an action but i can't see the text ! (hard to select an anction without reading anything...)
I uninstalled footprint but it did not come back.... (and yes i've soft reset)
What can I do ? Except uninstall/reinstall manila ?
Thanks,
(sorry for my english i'm French...)
I've cabbed footprints. it's on the forum, you need a rom with one of the HTC cameras in it..

You referring to this? Nothing seems to happen after I tap on 'Menu > New' though. Did a soft reset, copied the HtcCameraUtility.dll to my Windows folder and checked my registry settings, and even tried installing gtrab's R3A CAMERA but still doesn't work. Something else I missed out? Or does it only work on Touch-IT? Btw, I'm on stock R3A.

yup. i've only tried it on roms with a htc camera built in, so I've no idea if it will work with stock and a cab.
using that cab, you dont need to copy htccamerautility as a working one is included, but it would be best to install the htc camera first..
what you can check is that the camera.exe in windows is not the SE one.. The SE is a dummy file to trigger CameraRunner.exe
[edit]
I've just reread what you posted... the R3a camera WILL NOT work, it needs HTC CAMERA..

Is it just any HTC camera? Or only those for Rhodium/Topaz? And if convenient, could you point me to where I could find it? Tried searching but couldn't seem to find any for Rhodium/Topaz.
By the way, I saw you mention in another thread that you use both the SE and HTC camera. You mean that's possible?
Edit: Found 2 versions of the Topaz camera, but after installing, got the error message below when I tried running the 'HTC Camera' program that appeared:
'The file 'Camera' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring the file.'
Edit2: Btw, I did try installing the rhodium MHub.cab and also checked the 3 registry entries but still no use.
And by the way, I suppose the Rhodium camera not working is also why I can't launch the camera from the Photos and Videos tab in TF3D (using Daran's TF3DB3).

Thanks for your answer.
I got a stock rom for the moment. Maybe i'll change it in a few weeks, with everything working ! (hopfully)
The reason the HTC camera doesn't work is that it needs lots of support files, It's just easier to use one cooked into a rom..
If you really want core stuff from HTC devices to work on the X1 then use a cooked rom.. It's simpler, more efficient and you know it'll work...

Can I assume that you used a cooked ROM (so as to have the HTC camera) and then separately installed the SE camera?
Anyway I've been contemplating switching to a cooked ROM for a while .Just worried that switching back to stock (for servicing purposes) would not be possible. Btw, can I assume Footprints will work on Touch-IT?

I believed both Itje and mine have BOTH camera apps built-in. And if you really dare to read previous post in this thread. I even have footprint built-in as well and you don't have to do anything any all

Ya. Saw your post about Footprints in your ROM. And uh, ya, I did kind of see a mention of restoring to stock ROM, just that still had some things I still wasn't too sure about it (like what 'stock radio' is and where to get it). But guess I'd probably just give it a try.

Hi,
This is seems to be the last version of our magic tool - Screen Rotation Service (or SRS). It includes Second Edition's Today Theme (menu & today scrollers support in landscape) and feature to automatically resize your today screen for Landscape Theme!
(Download it here: setup.armv4.exe)
During installation you will need to answer "Yes" to this message:
Code:
The file"\Windows\ace_ddi.dll" is hidden, read-only, or a system file. Would you like to replace the existing file?
After installation you need to go to: [Start menu] - [Settings] - [Today] and select "WMSE" theme from the list
And one more, minimize (X) your programs before switching
Thanx to abc and everyone here!
Re: SRS HE = Halloween Edition
Feel free to post your feedback/questions on this version of SRS to this thread
More recommendations that i remember about SRS:
1) Do not soft-reset your device when in landscape-mode
2) Minimize (X) your programs when switching between different modes
To install SRS-HE:
1] Download SRS-HE to your PC
2] Run it to get "setup.armv4.cab"
3] Copy this file to your PDA
4] Tap on it to install SRS-HE
5] Soft-reset your device
6] Go to [Start Menu] -> [Settings] -> [Today]
7] Select "Wmse" Theme from the list
8] Use [Start Menu]->[Settings]->[SRS] to switch the modes

No it is installable on any Himalaya device with any combinations of ROM, radio and ExtROMs
If it doesn't run at your specific system, you can always uninstall it without any damage. It really worth to try!
Yeah, I have ROM 1.60 (latest O2 UK rom) and it didn't work very well at all. Half the OS had problems, including the camera (even v2.5), the Today screen and many of the Control Panel applets.
I've seen reports on this site of people having fewer problems with ROM 1.66, but I don't think anybody has claimed that they've got it working with ROM 1.60 without problems.
Still, I'm hoping O2 UK are going to release 1.72 tomorrow!

Where did you get such ROM version? And why you are not moving to 1.72? It doesn't really matter who the supplier of the ExtRom is (imate, qtec, tmob...) it is a matter of OS rom content. So, just update your device and receive a set of 1.72 advantages (faster BT binding, greater performance, no good CT and so on)

But now it's very important to have phone app, calc app, WMP and cam app setted to run in landscape mode.

I got the update from my service provider: O2 in the UK. It's the latest version available, at the moment. I don't need all the hassle of messing about with ROMs from other countries and providers. I'll wait until the next ROM is released by O2 for me. (Tomorrow.)

Hi,
I am a newbie here @ XDA and after a lot of work and learning I managed to build my first rom. I was looking for a dutch rom with manila after I tried itje's m2d rom. But there was not one there, so I made one myself. Everthing is translated inside this rom to dutch (as far as I know). I hope someone will use this and leave a message.
This is how I cooked my rom:
- I have used a shipped Windows Mobile 6.1. rom
and added (and translated):
- Manila2d (black theme)
- Manila Configurator
- 3D drivers
- Youtube
- Googlemaps
- Album
- Opal Volume Control
- Audio Manager
- Task Manager
- Opera 9.5
removed nothing (can make a lite one if people want that)
I used the orginal dailer because I use videodailer very often and it's working.
I used the orginal camera because it have auto-focus function.
I want to say thanks to UDK for his briljant kitchen.
I also want thank the Polaris 3D Development theme for their great 3d drivers.
And I wanna say special thanks to NeoS2007 for his quick reply's and great help to my stupid questions.
I did put a lot of work in this rom. It is running fast and stable, I didn't found bugs for now so please report found bugs.
Known bugs:
- analog and digital clock are "on" by default, can be changed by manila2dcustomizer
- video from album not working
- status bar is not showing correct
I don't know how to make screenshots, so if somebody can please make them for me I will be very happy, because I really to tired right now.
Here is the downloadlink http://rapidshare.com/files/153976144/FLAXJEFv1.0_DUTCH_6.1.rar.html
Have fun with it, please let me know if you are using this rom.

I hope im not hijacking but I figured it was directly related. Why should someone install the new one when they can't do it without running a shortcut?
How do I upgrade Opera? It's quite a few thousand builds newer than the one I'm running, but the installer says that the old version cannot be uninstalled. If I just continue with installation, there's bound to be issues.

Not necessarily. It is almost identical, files wise. It shouldn't be an issue to uninstall it if you have issues. You prolly have opera cooked in, so it will never be able to be uninstalled.

I already have. The only thing we are waiting for is the new manila from xboxmod. The contact editor is 90% tied into manila. So it is useless without it.

did any1 try Diamond2 Sensor with apps regedit ?
and what is supposed to do ?

It is to auto-rotate without the need for third party apps. There is an app called G-Config that configures the sensor for apps that aren't already supported.

That is one of the drawbacks from some people. As far as I can see the compact qwerty went away with this new keyboard.
awesome collection, my respect goes to the devs and the enthusiasts, who took the time to port 'em

here are the icons. They are all contained in this dll. Manually insert them or link to the dll. BIG thanks to carburano for this.

Most of these have been written up so you can see a brief description and the feedback from people who have tried it:

Simple question.
I've read about the new features of the 3rd version of Touch Flo (on the upcoming HTC Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2) and they are quite interesting.
I just wondered whether by any chance this new version could be installed on the HTC HD (once it's out of course)
Thx
there are already tons of custom roms with this new tf3d
Oh! I wasn't aware of that... have an example so I can test it?

Think the list is endless. Go to ROM's development forum and seach. I'm currently using Duttys 2.5 Xtreme, though Laurentius & Davideuck are just as commonly used

well... i always do my home work before posting, that is why i did ask question...i could not find any cab, and believe me i spent hours looking throughout our gigantic forum...
if u know location where such cab is hiding from my eyes please share it with us.
There is no "cab" install and there never will be.
This isn't just an application you install on your phone - it's a complete system overhaul, with new TF3D, with all new and / or updated system applications: phone, calendar, contacts, call history, calculator, browser etc.
Let me illustrate however the difference between the stock ROM and the custom cooked ROM's available here on XDA. It's like going from Skoda to latest Ferrari.
That means you'll get a lot of great looking stuff, many cool applications already included, everything will be as new as possible, you'll be running at MUCH faster speed, but you also have to accept that you'll "burn more gas" - battery life may take a small impact.
Is it worth it? Well, it's like you bought a new device, so - yes.

If you flash a ROM that already includes the new manila it will probably be alot smoother because the ROM will be optimized and tweaked for it! If you install it over the old Manila it probably won't give you the best experience... Also, the newer ROMs not only include the new Manila, but also things like finger-friendly menus!
really is that true???

I'm pretty new to all this as well and had a lot of difficulty figuring it out! What I think happens is this: The ROM is a bit like the BIOS so you can't modify it within WM6.1. Also, the original ROMs are protected so you can't replace them with an unofficial version (they are signed).
To get around this, you can use something like Hard SPL (which overwrites the existing ROM) or USPL (which works around it).
I finally went with USPL2.5 and Dutty's extreme ROM v2.6.
Incidentally, I'm not really noticing much of a speed improvement... Especially with the music player which now takes a second to load up... Am I meant to?
I have an HTC vogue, with a blank WM6.5 rom on it. I don't want to use a custom one, or brew my own, I like this ROM.
I do, however want the HTC software that originally came with my device (such as the audio manager, camera application, bluetooth manager, comm manager). I have no idea where to get these things. Can someone point me in the right direction ?

I know that generally speaking that software is usually bundled in with the ROM. very few of the HTC apps are available in .cab format. personally i would suggest checking out the ROM's that NFSFAN has cooked up. LOVED his WM 6.1 and 6.5 ROM's before i headed to the Android side of things. Hope this helps!
do some searching on here and ppcgeeks, i know ive seen them before.
