sky app - Touch HD General

Hope this is in the righ forum (wasn't sure if it should go in 'apps') - apologies if it's wrong.
I use to have the sky TV app on my nokia a couple of years ago for remote setting of programmes to record.
I try to sign up for the new app but get an error message that sky mobile anytime is not compatible with my device - I don't want the full 'anytime' - ie tv streaming etc - just want to be able to remotely set my sky box to record - surely this is compatible with Windows Mobile ?
Am I missing the plot somewhere here ? has anyone got this to work ?

Sky Mobile on Touch HD - Sky By Mobile

Has anyone been able to get Sky TV's Sky By Mobile working on their HTC Touch HD?
The Sky site lists the supported devices which does not include any HTC devices but I have found a separate thread which mentions getting this working on a HTC Kaiser, http://www.coolsmartphone.com/article785.html but this relies on using the hardware buttons to navigate around which is not possible on the Touch HD.
being able to remote record programs would be really useful for me, I have a work around which involves loggin in the the Sky email via Opera Mobile and then slowly navigating through the web screen TV Guide but this takes about 15 minutes per program, on the iPhone there is a nifty little app that does the same in seconds, the same as on other devices which are supported by the Sky By Mobile application.
I have searched all over the place but as you can guess Sky and Mobile returns thousands of results which makes it particularly painstaking to find anything.
It is a shame & I have e-mailed sky about this many times, they don't seem to take any notice but always say windows mobile will be supported in the future.
I have managed to install it but like you said without hardware keys there is no functionality.
Do you know you can achieve the same goal by sending your skybox a text message? Only downside is you have to know the exact details of what you want to record, but it works.
Only other option there is, which is what I use, is a Slingbox Pro. Then you can watch & remotely control your skybox from your phone or any web browser in the world. Downside for mobiles is it can be a slow process if you are in an area with only GPRS. Edge can work ok, HSDPA is really required for functional use.
Hope this helps.
have you tried the software D pad ... it's in this forum some where ...

Remote desktop mobile - h e l p please

Hi People
I'm searching for a great remote desktop mobile for my new HD2 and have problems to find something good.
I'd love to install LogMeIn, but i suppose is impossible at this moment,
This Night i found this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFiDZ_wBAtM&NR=1&feature=fvwp
I suppose is from RDM plus, i install a demo version 3.7.6 and it is very different compared to the Remote desktop mobile from youtube Video.
Where can i find the remote desktop mobile from youtube video?
Need your help, please
Thanks
That's the remote desktop client that comes with Windows mobile 6.5. It's in your start menu, in the tools folder
boss the remote desk top shown in you tube vedio is same as in hd2 .........
its not different ........
Logmein - Ignition works just fine.
or as the others just said - just use the one that came with your HD2.
just wondering whether anyone could help us to set it up step by step...
also just wondering do you have to have a router or it can also work on wireless USB broadband (thats what i have)
I used the theme in our forum for this, but I didnt succeeded with it, because Im using PPPoE internet and when I set everything, their appears conflict and the internet drops...
I found the app already, but what I'm looking for is how I can setup the use of a remote desktop gatewayserver?
The server I address is an IP-address, but in the Windows 7 setting, I need to specify this gatewayserver.
I'm no admin, so I can't install something @ server side.
Thanks for your help!
Koen
PS I was even trying to run only Remote App, instead of Remote Desktop...

First off - well done on getting it working
Secondly, install BsB Tweaks (if you haven't already) as that will let you fix both zooming and auto-rotating in it.
In BsB you can say you want to add an app for either zooming or rotating (you do them seperately, but it's the same process). You'll have to shake the device to let BsB know which app to make changes for. Just make sure you do it on a connected session (in remote desktop), NOT the login screen. They're 2 different things.

Netfront Location Free On HTC HD2

Ok the file.cab netfron locationfree for ppc is here. now can any one make this app work with HTC HD2 that would be so greate.
i have manage to install it on this phone but i can only see the image play for a second then quits. can any body make this work on this phone. i will pay for a working netfron location free cab for the HTC HD2
IT OLMOST WORK just need a little twick some hack to make this work
ignore.............
<ignore this post, i didnt mean ignore the thread>
HTC HD2 location free
What do you mean ignore..... don't you have a sony location free player
this software can make a huge thing if some body can make it work on the HD2
you could be watching your cable tv,dvr etc on your 3G phone with a 4.3'' screen just like the psp
ignore.............. let's get to work on this. lets make it work on the HD2
OK.....
I would like to see that as well.. I can't understand that it never really worked on the market.. it works so great..!!
I tried to connect my PSP to the wireless router but apparently the wifi access point on the hd2 is only wireless g, while PSP only uses b mode...
if anyone can make the hd2 wifi router work in 802.11b, that would also be great!
location free on hd2
well it almost work on the HD2 like i said on the top i can see the picture for one second and then quits if there is some body that knows about softwares that can tweak this to work on the HD2 ..............any body........
Would have been easier if you included some links in your first post.
I have no idea what you are talking about. I actually had trouble reading your first post (no offense intended).
If you'd provide a more detailed description of what it does and why it would be interesting to develop, I'm sure you'd be more successful in reaching your goal.
hd2 location free player
well what i'm trying to get is to make this app to work on the HD2 so that we can use it to watch tv... your tv + dvr on your phone just like the psp let's you do that with wifi but if some body makes it work on the HD2 you could do so on 3G any where
Isn't Orb basically doing the same?
I think that because it is a proprietary Sony product it will be pretty hard to find a developer that is willing to put his/her free time into it and actually having one of these..
But maybe it is as simple as changing some software on your phone.
Don't think developers will be able to help you on this one, though.
HD2 location free player
well that's a shame becouse this app is very usefull if you'r on the go and want to watch tv,dvd, dvr etc on your phone
i do not know much about softwarer development otherwise i would give it a try, some could try to make this work and try to get some donations for a working cab to install i'm sure it would be worth it
It does look nice.
However, if you have Orb, a media center PC (like most tech-freaks have at home I could imagine), there wouldn't really be a need for it. Just simply because there are alternatives.
I am also looking for a similar way of streaming TV on the go.
However, then I'd rather see something that would work with a client-host-type of setup whereas TV cards on any computer can be used.
Going to keep an eye on this, because the idea to have TV on the go is very interesting..
HTC HD2 netfront location free player
Here is the cab
Where is the cab?
I would love to see this too. Especially on TP2. I think the "location free" software is open source from sony now.
location free player
what do you mean open from sony... location free player for pocket pc
i have'nt seen it . but hope they do
can you please give us the program?
did you try to install framework 3.5?
Htc hd2 location free player
when i try to upload it it gives me this error
Netfront Location Free Player CAB.CAB:
Upload of file failed.
how can i upload it
location free
here View attachment 269145 if you need more info let me know
netfront locatiojn free player = key
00040370-YVtU-g59x
thanks! but I can't try without the serial it's asking me for..
net front location free HD2
does any body trying to this to work on the HD2
registration keeps failing.. it finds the base station ok, password ok.. but then says "registration failed". over wifi as over 3G. I think it's because I have a Europian base station. The US pc software also doesn't connect with it.
too bad.. looked very promising.. the app itself runs fine, althought it screws up screen rotation.. but that could be fixed in the registry..
have you tried it with Framework 3.5 installed? (and enabled in the registry, see the sticky tips guide)
location free for ppc
i'm sorry it didn't work for you and i do have Framework 3.5 installed and when run it does not screws up my screen rotation.. what registry fix do you know how can i make it stable or if you know another forum ?.......

[Q] Freeview TV guide app for WinMo?

I noticed that there was an iphone app for browsing the freeview tv schedule in the UK. Has anyone found something similar for windows mobile devices? Or do you know of any program that has the ability to download weekly updates for tv viewing? It would be nice to have an app for this.
In a totally separate question, has anyone found any Mpeg-4 usb tv sticks that can receive the new Freeview HD signals yet? I've used an mpeg-2 stick for a while and synced programs to my blackstone before, but would like to upgrade to a new HD stick. I've written to a few main players in this market, ie. Hauppuage, and they say that they won't have a product out until just before the world cup.
As an alternative perhaps someone knows of an RSS feed for the guide info?
There is one called On TV v1.31 uk, but you can't store the listings,I'm looking for one like that.

Yeah thx but tried that one, and as you say not being able to store them isn't very useful.

The pics aren't loading on that msmobiles site for me, and I can't see that working on the HD.
And I've already scoured google to a depth of 20 pages or so with little success.
I've started attempting to write a little program to do the things I wanted with it. As I suck at programming it's going to take a while, but if I ever get it finished i'll post it on here.
I hadn't tried this site on my HD until now, but it actually formats fantastically on the HD (on Opera, both vertical and horizontal):
http://www.tvcatchup.com/guide.html
If you sign up, you can then watch the channels, but as it's flash its only watchable on the PC, unwatchable on the HD

[Q] windows media center remote and dvr from anywhere

I have a question, and possibly a challenge to you programmers out there. Is there any program for windows media center where i can browse the TV guide from far away not LAN and select things to record?
there is a program called "phone my PC" that lets me remotely connect to my PC from anywhere with cellular service or WiFi connection. However all the WMC remotes i have seen use LAN. Also, all seem to require me to be in front of the screen.
If none exist, im sure there are many people who would love a polished remote control app that would let you
1 browse the guide and set programs to record from work.
2 browse through recorded programs on your phone WITH thumbnails while your
already watching a program
3 has all the other functionality that the "myremote" already has
4 please make it work on vista
Any other ideas?

You could try remote potato. There was a guy who started making an android version but I think he gave up.

looks like a really cool program.. it seems to use a web browser from another pc to control a home pc..
if he didnt give up as u say he may have, all he would need to add is the remote control features in "myremote" and blend it in with the rest of the features for the perfect all in one app..
with a lot of polish, and im talking the kind of polish put into the android OS itself. i would be willing to pay some nice coin for such an app.
Big screen global has a remote guide via mobile browser, they currently have a windows 7 app, might make an android one also. works well for me
