I'd like to access the programs window by one key press.
To put it anotherway, can somebody tell me what shortcut can opens the programs window or the settings window?

I knew that. I was talking about one-button-press access to the Programs window, and not to the Startmenu.
So I'd like to open the programs window by pushing the left soft key.
Then use WM5NewMenu to create a new menu containing all your programs .. then use the left softkey to launch that new menu ..

Thanks, but it'd be too much. I use almost all of the programs. I've sorted them into sub folters, it looks like almost a "normal" phone menu system.
And that's why I'd like to access them by one key...
Anybody? else?

Use Resco Explorer and browse to windows-start menu and highlight the programs folder, tap menu and choose 'create shortcut in start menu' then after closing down Resco go to settings and choose 'soft key' in there, choose program. works for me! Also if when using Resco you goto menu and choose large icons in the 'view' sub menu, the layout will look very similar to the view when opening up programs the original way. Hope this helps!

Thanks! You are beating about the bush!
It's almost that I wanted, but it runs the Resco Explorer, and the Resco is showing the programs folder.
The result is not bad, but starting the Resco takes more time, and more memory than the "normal" programs window
Somewhere I saw some *.cpl file (or what), in a shortcut that opened the settings window. I thought there is a similar solution to the programs folder too. So i'd like to know what should contains my .lnk file, that runs the normal programs window.
Any solution for this???
Thanks

I also want to know how to map the "Programs" to the softkey!! And it seem no one know the answer!! and the path to show the "Programs" in icon is not just a simple .lnk
I'm writing a script using Mortscript, and I would like to assign it to a button.
When I go in the proper menu (Buttons), I have a list of programs.
Now, some of them are script files, but not all of them.
How can I have my script listed there?
What kind of programs are listed in that pop-up menu?
Suggest that you copy your script file & paste a shortcut in Main memory\Windows\Start Menu, it will then appear in the list of programs you can run via Programs on the Today screen as well as the place you want it. Please remember to paste a shortcut not the actual file.
You can also re-organise the Start Menu items by creating folders & moving the shortcuts into them, it saves having to scroll through long lists of icons. I have folders for things like utilities & games.
Mike
thanks Mike,
this is something I've done for a long time, and I agree it's useful.
But my aim here is to use one of the hard buttons (the video calling one) to substitute the on-off button on the left. The reason is simple: I prefer to use my right hand.
That's why I wrote a Mortscript file to do that.
Now how it is some mscr files can be seen by the "assign button" routine and others can't?
File dimension? Use?
No idea.
Is it possible to change the quick list items or reassign long press end key?
Maybe registry path where to change it?
I thought to put task manager there cause when some app freeze quick list is the only place that responding so it would be good to have task manager there to kill freeze processes..
Someone actually use the quick list? cause i don't use it at all...

Item #13.
If "HTC Long Press End Key" software is not installed on your PPC, you'll find it at Itm #9.

Thanx!
item 13 works well and easy to do
Hi there,
I have a big problem with my Softkeys on the X1. By default left and right softkeys are assigned to calendar and contacts... but this does not match with my interests
By changing "left softkey" to "Start Menu" in "buttons" (or "keys", don't know exactly, because I use a german firmware), it opens the start menu... so far so good, but: It always opens the start menu. No matter what a menu says. "Close" e.g. does not close the screen, it opens the start menu
Now I'm useing a tool (called "remap softkeys") and changed the right softkey to comm manager, which works pretty well. Unfortunately I don't know, which command opens the start menu.
My target configuration opens the Comm Manager with the right softkey and the start menu with the left softkey in the homescreen. All options in all other screens which are dedicated to the left and right softkey should be kept.
I hope you can help me

Ok here's the file you need. Unzip and Map the softkey with the prog you have to Startmenu.exe. I am using this as well. The EXE is NOT made by me, unfortunately I can't find the site where I downloaded it anymore... Anyway it's freeware. Enjoy.
Thanks
Works perfectly! This is exactly what i've been looking for.
Thank you very much
You could have a look at X1BC or my X1ButtonMapper. These programs give you a lot more options regarding button remapping and they are small and for free.
Hi,
Is there any way to change the bottom left Windows Icon shortcut. Its default is the same as the middle hardkey to call the application folders. I want to change to another application.

Since you're on an EnergyROM, you have AMeBa (X-Button Settings) pre-installed.
Go to Start > Tools > X-Button Settings > there's an option there (I think it's the first page) that has things to do for the Start Button. Change that option to "Run App" and select an application you want to run when pressing that button.
It works . Thanks a lot.
