Active Calendar Tab from TF3D2 - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hi all,
I was wondering if the active calendar tab from the new ported tf3d2 from rhodium, was already ported for diamond. I know the complete tf3d2 package is ported to diamond, but i was more wondering about that tab only.

bump, anyone?

That's not possible since the Calendar tab is using some new code which isn't present in the "old" Diamond's Manila!
If you want the new Calendar tab, use the whole new Manila!

But to use a whole new manila, you have to use a cooked rom, because you can't remove old manila from stock rom? And to use a cooked rom, you have to learn everything about radio, and other geeky stuff. And than you spend hours, days and even weeks on learning all the technical stuff, just to get a calendar tab... I'm also looking for the magical cab that will ad a live calendar tab to my stock diamond manila. But looks like that wil never happen...

I think you can simply install a new manila over the old one using a cab, i did this many times. Just disable the old manila and install.

I did that, but than it took all the space on my phone, so I couldn't do anything on it withouth getting the message that phone is full and I have to delete some files. Even after a fresh hard reset, tried to install VGA port of Rhodium, and it just installs on top of the old one, but aparently keeps the old files as well, so after I install manila, I have like 1 mb of free space and all the anoying errors of full phone. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Which cab did you use?

anyone there to make a new manila 3 cab???
i was looking for that also...i know that touch pro users can find a manila cab, but i could not find anyone making cab with manila 3 for touch hd... .
not everyone want or can install new rom to be able to use new manila....is there anyone who could prepare new manila 3 cab????
you'll find the new manila is useless without an updated rom, mate
you do not need an updated ROM for the porting of the Touch Pro. It runs on 19xxx version of Windows in fact. Some additional add-ons (like enhanced notifications and menus) don't work but those are not a part of TF3D itself.
cool thanks for the heads up mate

Cab for the new calendar?
Hi,
I have got a Touch HD and I am happy with it. The only thing that bothers me, is the Windows mobile calendar. I saw that on the new TFD 2.5 the calendar has improved significantly. Great optic and no WM even when adding an appointment! That is what I was waiting for!! I really want this calendar!! I never modified anything on my device as I am scared to screw up my Touch HD! Is there a possibility to get a cab with the new calendar on the "old" Touch HD TFD? My version should be the 1.3.353...
Please help me... Sorry if it is a impossible thing to ask...
Thanx!
Hi,
Same for me... meaning I'm a noob in this topic and I would like to understand a bit about TF3D because I have seen in several post that there are other versions (2.5....)
My HD has 1.3.35601.1_1630.38 version of TF3D.
Is there any interest for me to upgrade? I have not found a clear explanation of what the new versions are offering...

Your currently using manila 1.3. The latest manila versions have a better/smoother, more finger friendly interface with additional options & displays (i.e. weather displayed on home tab below clock to name one). Also manila 2.0+ has landscape enabled so you can view all tabs in landscape mode as well as portrait
Thanks,
So is there any way to easily update to 2.0? I'm not used to make modifications so I'm affraid to put the mess in my HD ...

I haven't seen a way yet on the HD to update to another version of manila without having to flash a new rom. Its possible on other devices to port to another manila, but as I said, I haven't seen this avilable yet on the HD

Manila v2.5 Running on a HTC Touch HD

When the Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 get the Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade later this summer, it looks like they are getting a new version of TouchFLO 3D (Manila v2.5) that stretches the interface a bit deeper and makes it more customizable than seen on the current iteration. If not on the Diamond2 and Touch Pro2, we'll likely see Manila v2.5 on the upcoming Firestone.

For the Home tab, HTC has put forth efforts to bring frequently used tasks to the surface; in this case, the user can place three shortcut buttons that presumably go to a program, contact, or system command. Also, the calendar is still on the Home tab, though we wonder if that section will auto-collapse or simply act as a link.

It seems that HTC Footprints, first launched on the 2009 version of the Touch Cruise, will make its way to all newer versions of TouchFLO 3D. Footprints lets you associate geographical coordinates with a photo.

Settings are going to go much deeper. Currently in TouchFLO 3D, there are only a handful of system settings that are skinned by HTC. Now, it looks like most things, down to Program and Storage, Regional, and even Text Input setting are skinned.

The next build of Manilla, TouchFlo3D 2.5, has been leaked, and this video shows it running on a HTC Touch HD. It continuous the replacement of the normal Windows Mobile UI, and it seems all parts of calendar and settings are now subsumed in the software.
Also new is HTC Footprints as an integral part of TF3D.

Test versions are out. I think that we'll see it within a week.
Probably won't be that stable for a bit though.
You will need to flash or imageUpdate your phone.
I don't think that is a HD I think that is the Firestone that is shown in that video is it not?
looks like an HD... i tried it today on my HD and it looks good, but it's slow and buggy in spots. i removed it because i need a stable device during the week!
Totally agree with cortez.i, tried manila 2.5 yesterday and at present it is to unstable & buggy with a number of things not working properly.
Once these have been ironed out though..........

manila 2.5 cab file? we'd all like it to be that easy, lol. but...you can forget about that. it's a ROM flash only... (for now).
I'm looking at the registry values for the new Footprints function on my HD. Seems Manila 2.5 was written for a device with a 3M pixel cam, opposed to the HD's 5M. I've set the value for a 5M function, but that didn't fix anything. I've alos checked FootCam.exe with Dependancy Walker which tells me alot of files are still missing.
If i find the time, i'll post a list of missing files / dependancies.

Help with Transparent Clock

Hi all,
I am trying to install a Transparent Clock but am having little luck.
Ideally I would like the transparent clock w/ weather found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589181
I have tried that one as well as Matt's Crystal Clock. Can't get either to work - my clock does not change (even after soft reset).
I am thinking (but hoping not) it has something to do with my (and sorry I am new to this) windows version and/or manila version and/or TF3D version ???
I have WM6.1, TF3D 2.1.38420.2, and I am sad to say I don't even know how to check what manila I have...
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ryan

But I have never had weather on the home tab and have not had any luck getting it to work...any ideas ???
here is the EXACT weather clock that I want - is this possible ???

If it is a regluar TP2 (unbranded), go to HTC.com and download the WM 6.5 ROM and install it on your phone. That gives you WM 6.5 and a Sense 2.1 (which has the weather clock).
Just make sure you backup your contacts and other info you might need, because it's like formatting a PC - everything gets deleted. It's worth it though and shouldn't take more than 15 mins to do. Then you get your weather clock AND the Crystal Clock CAB will work ;-)

Hey, thanks a lot. I do not have an unbranded one however, I have Verizon. I checked HTC.com and it says wm6.5 for Verizon will be available in Dec/Jan.
I am assuming I should wait for that or would it be "safe" to download the unbranded one ???
Thanks

Well you could try to find an unofficial ROM here on the forums that might work, but I must admit I haven't tried out any of them myself. Personally I'd just wait the few weeks until the official version was released, but it's up to you
Downloading an unbranded one from HTC.com won't work, however. There is more to it than that - check out the Rhodium ROM forums for more info. Good luck anyway

HTC Twitter Tab - Is there a cab?

I really like the HTC Twitter tab. I am not sure how tabs work but is there a cab that can be extracted to install. I am running Manila 2.1 and want it as a regular app to run, i don't want it as a tab as I see that can't be done in Manila 2.1.
I'd be interested in this too!
if your talking about peep from the HD2 then NO........
it has been repeated many times
THIS CANNOT BE DONE.
just install a 2.5 rom and disable all the other new tabs, that way you still have your old tabs and also the twitter one

Removing Manila in osKitchen

I've been playing around with oskitchen building my first ROM. I've been searching like crazy and can't find the answers I need. Since this is my first attempt at cooking I'm modding the stock AT&T Tilt2 ROM (21849) from the HTC website and have a couple questions..
1. I only use Titanium and don't want Manila cooked into the ROM. I've found Manila_ATT_2_1_19183217_0 in the EXT tab of oskitchen and unchecked the box. Is this all I have to do to keep Manila from being cooked in?
2. This stock ROM has NETCF 2.0 in the SYS and I'd like to replace it with 3.5. How would I do that? Rip a 3.5 folder out of another build and place it in my SYS folder?
3. I recmodded the packages as instructed in this post in the kitchen thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5714524&postcount=439
are there any other dll folders I need to recmod?

1- Exactly.
2- Exactly. Or just find a NETCF package. I've seen it somewhere.
3- No, if you have native 6.5 NK And tilt2 has it. Also search for it somewhere and rapleace it in your kitchen. (if it is not here already) (Assuming you want to use 6.5 builds, otherwise simply ignore this.)
Thanks a lot for the info! Getting close to cooking this thing. Yes, I'm using 6.5 and osKitchen tells me that it is a native kernel.
I found this post...

and was wondering if it was safe to de-select any of the packages listed there that are dependent on Manila, since Manila is not going to be installed on my ROM. I am checking to see which manila-dependent packages in my build correspond to ones on that list. So far the ones I am unsure of are..
Contact Utility Engine
HTCFontLink
NewContactCard
Any others I can safely remove? Also going through and removing HTC apps/utilities I don't use. Its a PITA searching for these individually so i can find out what they do.. I started this thing over a week ago lol. So far I've removed..
SignatureReplace - sigs in email and messages
Redial - used for redialing through BT headset
PTT - safe to remove?
MenuEnhancement - from what I gather is for the fullscreen menus..
LockscreenAppLauncher (removing this will keep the WM lockscreen?)
HACSetting - for hearing impaired people
FullScreenPlayer - for use with htc album
FacebookEngine - for Manila
Audio Manager
Album - HTC Album
App_Service
Oh yea... and how do I determine the page pool size?
Thanks for any and all info.

Baby steps lol. I'm new to this cooking thing so I wanted to start off modding the ROM it came with since I've been using it for a while and I have a decent idea of what I want changed. I have a lot to learn and I also wanted to know I wouldn't miss on anything carrier specific for my phone, keyboard and other features to work.. I have downloaded this file which is I believe the RhodS2 you are referring to..
RUU_Rhodium_S2_Orange_CH-DE_2.08.72.1_Radio_Rhodium_4.49.25.91_Signed_Ship.7z
I want to get comfortable working with things first. When I finish this ROM I'll start playing with that one. My Tilt2 is my only phone other than some POS SciPhone i68+ I have laying around so if I mess it up I'm up the creek lol. Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions. I'm sure I'll have some more soon
