Wondering if anyone can help me get the settings i desire on my x1!
i want to have my phone on loud, with ringtones for sms texts and phone calls, but nothing else making noises. I've managed to turn the other noises off, but i cannot figure out how to turn off the noise that appears with the notification telling me my sms text has been sent. I can only turn it off by turning my message tone off too, but i want to hear my messages! it seems its all noise or no noise, is it possible to change that?
Help would be greatly appreciated!

Sms alert tone interrupts while on a call how can i fix this.. it is a really big deal while i am on a call, then suddenly receive sms i have to wait for the sms alert tone to finish coz i wont here anything just the sms alert until it finish alerting

it is so annoying. I cant hear the person speaking. And it is so loud it is hurting my ears.

I just recieved my Hermes today, flashed it to a wm6 rom. But for whatever reason, when I'm recieving an incomming call all it does is display up on the screen, no vibrate, no ring tone, nothing. I've tried switching modes, ringtones, moved ringtone volume to max and vibrate and still it doesn't do anything... Am i missing something here?
Oh and I forgot, every other sound works, such as text messages ... Just nothing for phone calls!

Hello everyone,
A small request on my HD2.
I adjusted my settings to vibrate + ring tone, what works.
By cons, when I put my phone on vibrate mode and I receive a call, my phone got a call in silent mode, but does not vibrate. Which means that I often miss my calls.
I wonder if someone has encountered this problem?
Perhaps manipulation in the registry?

My phone has completely stopped vibrating. It just makes a click once in a while when it should vibrate. TMO is sending me a new one.
Now this is not a coincidence!
Just as I read the title my phone - well, does nothing, but shows me someone is calling. It is in vibrating mode but it does not vibrate!

I am a new user of an HTC Hero.
I have a problem on incoming calls or sms.
I leave the HTC to lock by itself and, when i have an incoming call or sms, only the screen turns on. I can see the number of the dialer who is calling me on the screen but NO ringtone sounds from the phone. The same problem occurs when an sms is received. No ring is sounded by the phone.
I have checked everything concerning the sound preferences and (i believe) that i have not left anything un-touched.
Can anyone please "save" me from madness???

I can't say for sure this is what happened, but humor me for a second and check a few things:
Of course double check that your volume is all the way up.
When you use the volume rocker on the side of the phone, does it beep?
Do you have any music on it? If so, play it without the headphones plugged in. Do you hear the music?
When you turn speakerphone on during a call, do you hear the other person?
Do you hear any of these sounds using headphones? Do you hear people through the earpiece on a call?
If you don't hear any sound from any of the first few bullets, but you do hear things through the headphones and earpiece, it may be the speaker in the back that's broken. Again, this is just one possible cause, but I had it happen to me. I have no idea how to fix it other than to send it back to HTC or attempt to replace it yourself (I don't know how to do this and would not recommend it if you're not comfortable with it!). Thankfully, my phone fixed itself after a few days (well, with a little help, I accidentally dropped it on the floor from a height of about four feet, but again, I wouldn't recommend that!). Anyway, just a thought, hope it at least helps you diagnose the problem.
What's up guys! Need help! I bought this phone on eglobalcentral for about 120€. The problem is, when the loudspeaker turns off, it makes a "click" sound, during the day this is almost imperceptible but in a very quiet place it is annoying. I'll give you a example:
If I receive a messenger text, the loudspeaker needs to turn on in order to produce the notification sound and then it turns off, and when it does that, it makes that annoying click sound. My interpretation is that the gain is too high perhaps. Do anybody here have the same problem?
