Hello there,
at first: Please excuse my really english, but i will do my best - So here is my question:
How can I catch an incoming SMS-event of a specified number?
My idea: I bought a GPS/GSM system an build it up in my car. If the alarm of my car starts (by shaking, crash a window, what else) i recieve an SMS. No i want to write a litte application that catches that number and starts a loud sound that I will wake up immedeatly.
So, can you help me? I used the "search-button" but I didn't find a word about it... (maybe I used the wrong words for searching)
Best greetings from germany
Henning
PS: My system: XDA Orbit I, Visual Studio 2008, i wrote 2-3 little apps (Hello World, and so on... you know )!
I think rk-sms might be able to help you.

I think you guys must be confused...
In my case, when i call someone that is on a call with call waiting activated on my HTC Touch doesn't "say" anything. On my old Nokia it "says" Waiting.
Another think i noticed is when i receive a diverted call on the old phone says "diverted call" and then put a simbol before the number. On my new phone no information about it is displayed.
I know this happens with HTC's... don't know about other brands...
Can anyone know if there is any app that can make the phone "smarter" in this case?

Any News? I'm using HTC Diamond! And have a same problem

This is why you have not rec'd an answer...
Guys,
The reason why this thread will not get answered is because there is a very valid campaign to reduce the number of threads in this forum, especially the ones that have nothing to do with Developing & Hacking or with new developed software.
Too many threads on here makes searching for something specific really difficult. Also there are plenty of people out there who can't be bothered to search and treat this forum as some kind of unpaid Q&A resource.
If you had taken the time to read first you would have found this thread to post your question in...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398571.
Try again and see how you get on.

Hi guys....
I think about a program, which change e.g. your Phonestatus from loud to vibrate or soundless on special times you've set before like an timer, which do it itself...hope you understand me...i want that my mobile make no sound from 6am to 3 pm and 8pm to 10pm as an example...
Hope you get it!? Maybe it is connectable with the idea in annother thread which want to change the backgroundwallpaper in special times....
sry for my very poor english...
Hope you enjoy the idea and anybody will make it possible..
best greetings
Greenhorn
It's called PhoneAlarm.
I know this is going to be a stupid question to most of you but please take the time to help me. All I want to do is down load ring tones and etc. to my phone and I am not sure how to do it. I also want to know if I install the the software with the 60 day trial key when it runs out will I still be able to use it? Is there an option to this software or a full version. I realize this is elementary to most of you but Im not up to date with all the changing of the software and all that stuff. What does the unlock program I found "somewhere" on this site do? Can someone please be kind enough to help me?
Thanks
Jayjay
Saw yesterdays American dad episode when Stan was searching for his phone which he had lost, and he had set it to vibrate mode and therefore he could not call the phone... his wife "said" something smart
"why cant you just invent like a code, you dial the phone and enter the code and it switches to another profile" something like that...
Now a phone-call couldn't be possible, but how about via a text-message?
I'm not a programmer so i don't know the limitations of the API(?) in the TD but it should be possible i.e scan a (incoming) text-message for a specific code and then call a function to switch profile / turn up the volume
well well, just an idea thrown out
to all programmers and chefs @ XDA - just love the work you're doing!
Remote Tracker
You mean an application like Remote Tracker?
You could ask someone with knowledge of that app to help you out, or maybe it already exists!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394203
already exists. smsRunner
hello !
@fnotsje
thank for the tip about remote tracker, but I already have it in subscribed threads, maybe going to the first page a little more often is something I'll have to work on
@bbobeckyj
thank you for the tip, will check it out
*note to self - search a few times extra when in middle of the night*

or download trial apk here: http://www.killermobile.mobi/ota/TRA.apk
not free, but cheap. $10.
make the phone a little (very little) unresponsive when starting and ending call, but it will not bother you much.
i'm using DL DesireZ v0.3.1n
select Recording strategy A (you'll find this when you first run it, you need to select A or B, i never test with B because A works.)
legal? google say no, and remove it from market. but you can still buy it from developer website.
Thanks for you answer.
Could install it - but the software did not record messages on my HD2 ...
Any solution ?

can't really answer. i'm not the developer. all i can suggest is to try both strategy, then ask the developer.
anyway, if you can use it later and find your phone unresponsive when starting a call, this app may be a little help to avoid you calling someone accidentally:
Call Confirm: http://nanabit.net/a/
as usual, app that i suggest always has some problem with market, this time it's bug in the market. so get it from the developer site.
