Hi,
It's possible, turn off screen when i got new sms? And turn off screen after missed call??
But, please tell me step by step, what can i do? I'm newbe windows mobile user, and never changed in registry.
P.S Xperiatweak doesn't work.

you want your device to turn off if you recieve a sms when you'r pda is on?

He wants to disable input / turn off the screen.
It is possible with XperiaTweak, I've done it myself.
So, when a new message arrives, the screen does not wake up.

Disable New SMS Auto Wake Up and Turn On Screen?

Hi,
I've owned the Xperia for a week and it's a great WinMo device. However unlike Touch Pro or Diamond, there's no registry tweak available to turn off the auto wake up on new sms feature.
I found it really annoying. Everytime a new SMS arrived when the phone was in my pocket the screen automatically turned on, and as I was walking my jeans' pocket continuously "touched" on the phone screen and accidentally opened bunches of programs and scroll up and down until it hanged.
It will be perfect to just make sound + vibrate, but keep the screen off, as I could do on Touch Pro.
Anyone knows of such a solution please do help!
I need to bump on that...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
aint advanced config 3.3 working for that?
I was having this problem too... the only thing I changed to attempt to fix this was instead of pressing the power button to sleep the phone before I put it into my pocket, I press and hold the end key so that it locks the phone and dims the screen. The screen eventually turns off and it requires you to unlock the phone when you power it back on. When you receive an SMS or Email, the screen still lights up, but you have to press unlock, then tap unlock to start using it.
Yes, I have the same problem too and hope we can have the option to turn it off so that the screen will not lighted up when there is new sms or call.
Can someone work on this?
The registry key used for the tweak that works on Touch Pro does not exist, which is HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL

That option is for Touch Diamond and Touch Pro only, and it does not show on Xperia when you use Advanced Config. It's obviously related to the registry key mentioned above.
I have found the solution, just need to use any registry editor like the Resco Registry Explorer or the SKTools to edit the registry.
Dont want the device to wake up on new SMS ?
It still notifies you with sound/vibrate/LEDs, but the screen will not turn ON
Just add in the below line into the registry location :
[HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:1
Has anyone tried this out to see if it works...???
Cheers

I have tried it myself and it works, I don't have to worry that I might press anything on the screen when there is incoming SMS.
Thanks for getting back to me...
I was having this problem... when in my pcoket and getting tx message and the opt pad going all over the screen... kinda funny...
Im assuming when updating this key will be deleted and have to be put in again???
Thanks

Not sure about yours but I do not have this key so I have to create a new one and it is working.
I need to create it...
Does it need to be where the
HKCR
HKCU
HKLM
are???
Cheers
Sorted now and working well...
Thanks again
Put it in HKLM.
However Resco registry give me an error and doesn't create this dword. Very very strange...

Using your Registry Explorer an go to the below location :
Location in Registry : HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
Select "New" D_Word and you will be asked to enter the details :
Top portion just enter : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent
and bottom portion just enter the value : 1
Save it and you should find the details there :
[HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:1
For easier way, you can download the latest Xperia Tweak and it include the option to turn off the screen for any incoming sms.

Confirmed Work!
I can confirm this solution works perfectly! I thought if the value does not exist means the device does not support it. Thanks chongbh!

Thanks for your reply! Actually, I did use S2U2 on my HD. But it just can prevent I wrongly touch the key to receive a call. I need "Phone Canvas" to avoid to touch the function key "e.g. Mute / Hold" on the keypad during I making / receiving calls. Hope it is clear. Thanks again!
doesnt s2u2 have an option to lock all soft/hard keys?
I find S2U2 so confusing. It is very hard to test also because you have to wait for someone to actually call you before you can see if the settings are as you wish.
Can anyone tell me what settings to use in order to have S2U2 keep my phone locked when I receive a call and let me asnwer the call by sliding ????
What about Answerkeys Disabler.

[APP] WM6.5 SmartLock / WM6.1 csdevctrl low memory wm device lock

Try it just get this from others forum and it's free....
Auto Lock v6.06 (CSDEVCTRL)
The locking can be activated at the following events:
1. After a specified period of idle time (no screen tapping or touching the keyboard).
2. After the device has waken up.
3. During a call ("In-Call Locking" Partial or Full).
4. Gesture Left or Right to unlock
WM6.5 SmartLock
1 WM 6.5 use new lockscreen . gray when in wm6.1 or older
2 lockscreen when startup
3 lockscreen when standy
it works well after reboot.
Auto Lock v6.06 (CSDEVCTRL) looks very nice... many options in setup as
executing application after unlock (with command line parameters), locking keyboard, unlocking while slide-out (for raphael i guess), setting right sip, flashing, vibra, etc. ... rly Nice...
but for me LockMeLite is better... (with build in - slide 2 answer option while ringing) cheers
thanks for upload... !
lucasjohny You're the best! Thx. for find this apps.
Hi,
please can you tell me what im ment to do with this?
do i need to install the cabs from the 2 links or just the autolock cab?
Thanks in advance
MG
I'd follow the links to the main thread as both of these apps are on XDA and both have been updated significantly since the OP started the thread.
There are also much more in depth descriptions.
The attached cab files are also outdated. Don't use either of them if you want the latest/greatest.
very nice app!!! I have wanted this for a long time
http://thewingster.com/smartlock.aspx
Thank you very much
I'm wondering whether I can disable the tiny and short sound when I receive a call during the device is locked and turned to silent or vibrate mode? I don't want to disable all sounds of this app, but just this because when the device is turned to silent, it shouldn't make any sounds, should it?
The lock sound is off when I turn the device to silent mode.

SMS Vibrate with switched off screen

Hi -
Having a problem with SMS notification. Don't remember whether it started after I installed HD Tweak or before.
If I specify via HD tweak not to wake up a phone when SMS arrives - I receive no sound/vibrate notification on sms unless I switch on the screen.
If I specify to wake up a phone, then everything works fine - vibrate works, BUT the screen also switchs on and so I can make accidentally touches
So is it possible to have Vibrate, Sound and NO switching on the screen when I receive SMS on the HTC Diamond2?
Yeah, i never found a solution to this myself.
So i've installed Pocketshield (disabled everything but the slide-locking), and enabled the WakeUp in the registry.
This is the default behavior, at least on my device. When I first got the device it annoyed me that I had to turn on the device manually to read a message, so I changed the reg value that controls the screen on on new messages. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a similar fix (reg value) for incoming emails though.

PK

what reg tweak did you use?
or do you mean that you have enabled switching on the screen - in the same way as it is done via HD Tweak?

My device is stock and it has that behavior default! When I receive a SMS, a sound and vibration announce me, while the screen remains off!

to check “Vibrate” from Setting/Sounds&Notifications.
Then you can have " virbrate function " under suspend mode when SMS incoming~ have fun~
Hi
You should be able to fix these problems be increasing the "resuming from suspend timeout" values under Power using Advanced Config. By default it is one second which often isn't enough time for the phone to sound/vibrate when an SMS is received so try changing it to 10 or 15 seconds. When it is one second the phone goes back to sleep too quickly and sometimes the sound or vibration hasn't had to time be triggered.

Phil

HTC HD2 how to disable SMS wake up problem?

Does anybody know how to disable HD2 from waking up upon receiving an sms? I would really love to do this because I carry my HD2 in my pocket. Often I didn't hear that there was an incoming sms and the screen refused to turn off after that due to the sensitive capacitive display which kept on rubbing with my pants.
Thank you in advance
How did you do it on your previous device?
Settings - Personal - Sounds & Notifications - Notifications - New Text Message - uncheck Display on screen.

With my previous device like HTC Touch HD, it didn't auto wake up upon receiving sms.
Secondly, the screen was not capacitive therefore not as sensitive as HD2 and never experienced a problem.
I also have tried your procedure "
Settings - Personal - Sounds & Notifications - Notifications - New Text Message - uncheck Display on screen."
and the problem still persisted.
My HD2 still kept on turning on itself upon receiving an sms.
Im with you on this one, mine always wake up too. Even when using BSB Tweaks
I have the same problem. I can't turn it off.
Danish Rom 1.48
I have this problem as well. Does anyone have a solution?
(bump)
There must surely be a solution to this...?
I have the same problem with my TD2,I already set the following item in registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:00000001
but it don't work.
Install BsB Tweaks (search the forum for it) and there is an option to turn off the wakeup.

Yeah, I already tried that. Didn't help.
Odd... did you reset your device afterwards? Are you sure "SMS Wake Up" is set to off? My mate left it on "on" thinking it was a double negative sort of thing...

Yes, and yes. I even directly checked the registry to make sure it's inserting the right value, and it is; the phone is simply ignoring the registry value.

Got exactly the same problem here too (Stock 1.48.405.2)
I think HTC's latest revision of the SMS hotfix, posted yesterday, may have fixed this problem. Needs a bit more testing to be sure....
I've been running Tom Codon's 1.1 ROM for a couple of days with the BsB tweak applied and my screen stays off (still get notification sound).
I only applied the SMS hotfix today, so it wasn't that. Tom's ROM is 2.02 based, this might have something to do with it working ok.

Yes, after installing the SMS Hotfix, I notice that my phone did not wake up upon receiving a sms anymore which is not happening before the SMS Hotfix.
The hotfix says it is for ROM versions 1.66 and earlier, so later ROM versions presumably already contain it.
My device also doesn't wake on SMS after the Hotfix
i was looking the reverse solucion, because, mine was like yours, but after i installed the hotfix sms "2" ,of 14-01-10 my hd2 dosent wake up no more after reciving a new sms, and i am thinking after i read this to leave it like this..... hope to help with something
