Hi folks I just found out how to create a direct link to "USB to PC"-Setting.
This is how it goes:
Code:
ctlpnl MyCPL.cpl,17
But how do I get the proper icon displayed?
Forget about it. Just found there's also \Windows\Usbtopc.exe which holds the icon and provides the functionality.

Ive noticed some of the roms have a desktop wifi and bluetooth status bar, just wondered if that is a seperate available download that will work on WM5???
This will sort you out.....
....same as a search of the forum and the Wiki would....
Install the attached CAB, go to Start | Settings | Today | Items tab and tick the "Wireless" option, then "ok" your way back out and it will be there.
You can also change the behaviour of the plugin so that it jumps to Comm Manager when you tap on it (so you can switch WLAN/BT on/off) - but you gotta search the Wiki for that one
HTH,
Mark.
Works a treat, thanks, any other nifty little tools that might be of interest???
thanks for that one, just what I have been after.
Hello everybody!
This is the first thread I open myself, and i'm kind of excited!
Okay, as you can see on the attached image,
on my today-screen, there is some kind of bar that indicates some kind of statuses.
How can I remove this?
It's my TyTN with the original HTC WM6 (due to the lack of a german 6.1..).
Any ideas?
// Sorry for the *.gif's quality, but I'm not used to match the filesize!
I believe you must remove the icons one by one and then the bar will disappear when they are all gone.
From the left:
1) Looks like MyMobiler. Tap that icon and there should be a way to turn off that icon
2) The Activesync connected icon. Go into Settings>Connections>USB to PC and check use advanced functionality and it should go away.
3 and 4) Battery and CommManager icons. Use Schap's advanced config to get rid of those.
this is called "Tray" search for remove Tray or something.
here is an app that will hide those Icons, a simple search of xda took me here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=248968
If this one won't work for you, there are more to choose from, just search "Hide Tray" or "Remove Tray"
Okay,
thanks!
Battery and CommManager have gone away!
But as I'm using WinXP, the advanced netwok features do not work for me!
Try searching now..
I'm sorry, but i thought the upper bar was called the tray; so i didn't try searching for tray.!
I'm hoping to get a bit of advice, I'm new to ROM cooking but after a couple days I'm nearly there. Please see the list of issues and have a look if you know the solution to any of them. Many thanks, Andrew

prob: no longer asks for screen calibration on install.
fix: Do manually via Settings > Screen until I find a fix.
prob: after installed you'll get a white screen saying "please wait".
fix: Hit one of the top icons and it'll go away.
note: I'm looking for a fix without enabling HTC's RunCC.
prob: clicking the battery icon doesn't do anything (it should really invoke power).
fix: access manually via Settings until I fix.
prob: screen text is default (one size too large imho). Need to find the registry key to notch it down a level.
fix: do manually via "screen"for now.
prob: the background is a gif as I can't workout how to get the compiler to use a jpg for the Default_stwater.
fix: none
issue: slight colour banding because of it.
prob: empty Tools folder on Start-Menu.
fix: delete it from /Windows/Start-Menu/Programs
issue: can't find the location to kill it so you'll need to do manually.

I am also a noob cook but for the tilt. Ill be happy to help you with what I can.
The screen calibration depends on the build you are using. What build are you using?
I normally just take a jpg file and rename it and copy over the old one in the sys file.
As far as the empty folder you should be able to just delete the icon and then it will not be there. I am not sure how you have your kitchen set up. If you have a custom icon package in your ext folder then you can delete it there.
Not to sure about the text size but will look into it.
1
might be something with your kitchen
in some kitchens for diamond there is option to "disable everything other than screen calibration" (exactly opp. but that might cause some issue)
3
use advanced config and in "today" options select display battery on today screen
6
in your kitchen look for a file called "initflashfiles.dat" (NOT TXT)
it will be in "OEM_Lang_xxxx" folder (might differ)
edit that file and remove entry for the tools folder
and keep that file in "read only" attributes
1. already played with this option but it's not doing anything for me "disable everything other than screen calibration" ... It did work at one point
3. I don't want it on the Today screen I only want it to run the htcpower app when it's clicked.
6. "initflashfiles.dat">> no entry called "Tools" already tried that
Why does it matter if it's read-only or not?
Hello everyone
I'm looking for the icon which is displayed in "My computer" as Touch Pro 2. I tried to find it in Program Files but I couldn't. Can someone post that icon here or tell me where i can find it in my computer?

I had to make one myself... I found a good png and then converted to an icon file.
I found when I disconnected my phone the icon would dissapear so what I did is make a direct shortcut when the phone was connected and draged that onto my desktop. This gave me a direct link to the phone when it was connected as a disk drive. From there I changed the icon to the one I made, which is super easy.
Right click on the shortcut on your desktop (or wherever you have it saved to) and select "Change icon" then navigate to where you saved the icon... you have to keep the icon file where you plan on having it saved otherwise the shortcut icon will go back to the default one that shows nothing really... so save it in your pictures folder somewhere or something..
This icon is quite similar - also good Thank you for sharing it.
I am using Androkidd on my device which is an Android type screen on which I created an icon directly to system settings and another icon which went directly to the "new text message" page.
I needed to move the app to the storage card and in doing so lost some quick launch icons. Therefore it was necessary to redo the icons lost, but now I cannot find the paths to the settings and new text message screens. I do not remember in which file/s they were located.
The links do not appear anywhere in the Windows directory that I can identify. A link to 'Settings' is found in the Start menu, but the path cannot be determined.
Can anyone help me? I'm up against a wall on this one.
Thank you.

If you moved the app, you should have some configuration or settings file, which should be readable in a text editor. Having said that, if you need the links to settings, take a look at this:

Hope this helps.
