[DEV Needed]Rhythm lights on Xperia - XPERIA X1 General

hey
i was thinking if xperia's led work with a voice sensor.....
i mean if we make a application like i play a music on my car music system or any other music system ,xperia mic sence the music and all the led's work on it
plz see this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVgKKPTTU3c
like on motorola E398 rhythm lights
WE ALL XPERIA PEOPLE WILL BEAT IPHONE HAHAHAHAH

one more vid :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQy9PBU0hbg
you can search for 4 more on youtube
its ****ing awesome

that would look sooooooo awesome on the xperia. Especially as the xperia has colour changing LEDs

Definately true. The only problem is that nobody has yet found how the LED control is implemented in the software. All that's known are some registry keys that define the few patterns that exist.
Nevertheless, it's definately possible, someone with the proper skills just needs to dedicate him or herself to this then.

omg this would be awesome
then i would go to my friends with their Touch HD´s and ask...can your Touc HD this too?...with his G-Sensor? (everyone say the Xperia do not have a G-Sensor and everything got a G-Sensor today......but no one use it xD...everyone got it disabled xD xD xD tooooo funny xD)

[IDEA]Crash,Burn,Shoot Your Diamond !!

Hello
Here i come with a new idea to the diamond just for fun
is it possible to do an app (GAME) to launch a wallpaper as the Today screen of the TF3D .. AND CRASH IT lol
to chose options like burning, gunshots, cut objects and break them , break the diamond screen..
its not that great but we love to have fun from time to time
i had an app before for my pc to do that and it was fun to play with ..
anyway hope u like my idea and be possible ..
here's an e.g that i did with paint shop:
Haha, that idea reminds me of this:
http://au.youtube.com/experiencewii
the pc app is called antistress
+1 for meeeee it would be GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
Well lets call it antidiamondstress
i c not alot of ppl likes it .. well we need to know
I like the idea, I've seen stuff like that on pc - would be a good laugh.
what i would like is a resident application that will "crash the screen" with vibration and sound and this to be trigger by a punch (detected by gsensor, light sensor and touch screen)

G-Sensor wrapper, driver replacement?

on many internet site i red, the x1 will have motion sensor.
i could find a menu. and diamond apps are not running. (error, missing dll)
so i hope that will really inbuild the motion sensor, and i hope for a diamond compatibel driver/wrapper.
has any body informations about the g-sensor?
tools like gsen?
thx.
x1 doesn't have accelerometer
take google search, and you will find a lot of sites, they are telling the x1 has got a accelerometer.
nobody knows exactly, what x1 can do. but i saw a video on youtube, with all time opened keyboard, and if the presentor rotating screen, the x1`s desktop will rotate immediatly. fake?
brace yourself

You can hotkey one of the buttons to rotate the screen, most likely this is what they were doing.

Seriously? The phone has been out for a month now and has been reviewed in its final hardware spec for almost 2 months. Everyone should know what the X1 can do. If you don't then you aren't even looking.
i want the g-sensor spezially for easy looking picture gallerys,
scrolling on big websites in opera by g-sensor.
gaming. for ex. labyrinth, flying tube style games, racing games,
shaking phone answer, and so on.

And yet... it DOESNT have it.
You have the device... go on to the settings and look up the settings for it... wait, you can't. Cos it's NOT there.
Xperia X1 does NOT have a g-sensor / accelerometer. PERIOD.

Just map one of the two buttons to Screen Rotate. Problem solved.
Yup they stated it doesn't. However one little minor thing to note - when the N95 came out Nokia never admitted that it had an accelerometer. I don't know if they said it never had one (they may have done) but then some cunning developers found that it did and eventually (several firmware updates later) Nokia enabled it.
Given this and that the hardware is almost identical to the Diamond/Touch HD I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it may be on there but not enabled.....

I was thinking the same thing, the Ameo had the gsensor onboard but nothing using it until we had some roms that included the gsensor dlls.
There are detailed dissection (disassembly and assembly) videos of the Xperia X1. Could someone who is familiar with g-sensor/accelerometer components view the videos and see if there are any telltale signs of one inside?

[APP] DiamondFlute & The New SpaceInvaders. Developers, look here!

Shouldn't this be able to get "ported" to our Diamond?
iPhone Ocarina
So yeah, we've come up with 2 great application/game ideas;
1. The DiamondFlute "one finger on the screen, pressing to any note; and the other finger is turning around the D-PAD and changing the sound like a trombone!! so not discrete but continous sound change like a theremin!! (pls search for what a theremin is)
ofcourse microfone is also the starting point of workflow!!"
2. The New SpaceInvaders "a shooter where there come stuff towards you, while you blow you shoot and then you aim by using the accelerometer; tilting the phone either left or right."
(see attached image of how I imagine it to look like)
multitouch ==> might be a problem for our Diamond
oh right, totally forgot about that. Still, would be cool if someone could do an app that uses the microphone as the iPhone Ocarina does.

Has anyone developed a program that uses the cap pad/screen combo? If you were able to assign a virtual mouse using the cap pad and have the other screen element (note) activated by touch, you could have "two" keys to play... Kind of a cheesy method, but you get the point.

Good idea but who will do this! ) the guys doing for iphone earn quite good money, but for wm, that's not the way so...

do you mean like a portamento/glide/slide?
Actually, I think more games and fun apps can be made with the "microphone-blow" feature. For example a space-invader like game where you accelerate by blowing. Or a shooter where there come stuff towards you, while you blow you shoot and then you aim by using the accelerometer. (Now I really want the last example I came up with, would be pretty cool).
I'll make a concept art-image for it tonight so you'll see what I mean and if some developer happens to read this.
I thought the Diamond did have multi-touch support, its just not enabled because Apple will freak out, you know, because they own everything to do with it.....
Sama with the G1

Here's the image if anyone's interrested. The purple thingies are the bad guys and you shoot those white rings. You aim by tilting the phone either left or right (the black ring aint moving I imagine it to be more like gravity like when you aim)and shoot by blowing into the microphone (I guess it's the microphone they use in the iPhone Ocarina?).
Does this sound appealing?

[idea] play drums with g-sensor!!! :0

hallo to everyone
first sorry for my bad english
today i had an amazing idea but im not really good in programmin so it is up to the deveelopers to make the idea become real
i was thinking about an app which recordnize when u are tick your diamond and play a diffrent sound when you are ticking with diffrent power or from diffrent side
just like when u are ticking right it plays sond a and when u are doing it on the left side it play the sound b
i think it is very simple to make for someone who is good in programming
it would be really cool if someone can do it
Or maybe that u hold a button down so you get highat sound only!
And another button for snare or something like that. Sounds really cool!
thoese who want to help please post
i think it will be a pretty cooll app and i m wondering why no one got this idea before
i m waiting for replies

It doesnot use G-Sensor. All u can do is using the stylus or your nail to tap on the drum and it will make a sound. That's it, you cannot use multi-touch feature so it makes no sense to play this.
was going to say, no multi-touch
what tryed to say was that i want an app which play drumms without useing the screen just the g-sensor and may some hardware buttons

Queries of a Newbie!

Am new to Windows Mobile and would really appreciate if someone could answer atleast some of my doubts.
1) The speakers ... is that the loudest we can go? I have a P1i that I tweaked thanks to Swmail and its like real loud!
2) Most decent Nokia have a feature that when a call is received "speaks out" the caller name from the address book. Do we have a similar option in Xperia/ Windows Mobile?
3) When I receive a call, the callers name is almost invisible ... I mean its so small that a person like me having below average vision has trouble figuring out the caller's name! Is there no in built tweak to rectify this problem?
4) I have downloaded and installed the MyLostBlog HTC Calculator.cab ... why are all the backgrounds black for most softwares around here??? Is it not possible to adjust colours to go with the theme? I mean, can I just not install any software and the theme gives the software the looks?
Having got the Xperia, I'm now in a stage where I have to learn the OS fresh ... feels uncomfortable with all the small fonts and buttons. I'm now wondering if this was a mistake and if I should give up so soon or work my way into comfort zone!
Your advises and help will help me hang on!
Cheers!
1 - I'm sorry, but this was a mistake by SE. The speaker is awful, but there is nothing you can do about it. I wish we had stereo speakers on par with the N95 too. When I use it for video or audio, I always put my headphones. I don't see a problem about it. The only irritating thing is that you won't be able to hear the ringtome, but that is what vibration is for right?
2 - There are many programs that do this. I haven't tested them, because I find the feature annoying. Do it on your own risk:
Voice Call
Phone Tray Free
Ascendis Caller ID
Audio Caller ID
and many more. Just use google .
3 - You need a program like SPB Phone Suit or PhoneEx 1.3 (the one I'm using). PhoneEx is great. Big names and numbers. It is very finger friendly.
4 - Because black = cool. After all everyone wants to be Mr. Black (10 points to whoever caught the reference ). Anyways, HTC devices are black and the Xperia most people have is black, so people make programs with black fonts.
And no, the theme cannot change the colours of the programs that you install.
You say that you are a new WinMo user. Well, that means that you have to read and learn a lot of things. No way around that. WinMo is not intuitive. It is not like most of the smartphones or featurephones with their flashy, but often useless oparating systems. It is annoying at the beggining, but when you learn how it works and get the little quirks here and there, it will become the best operating system for ppc's.
Plus, there are literally countless number of applications for WinMo and a lot of them are free.
Xperia has great touchscreen that allows you to click even the little icons with ease. If it is not responsive, you should change the settings for the screen sensitivity. Start>Settings>Screen or use this method, but be careful what you do and read the instructions carefully:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=485037&highlight=screen+sensitivity
It really depends on what kind of phone you want. Xperia is perfect for me and as I have said before, I cannot imagine my life without it. If you want to have a pocket pc with you and if you are preapred to spend many hours reainstalling, hard-reseting and tweaking, then you have made the right choice.
A piece of advice I give to every newcomer:
Read the topics in this forum. Just open random topics and learn about your device. Use the search functions. 99% of all your question have been answered in other threads.
I had some experience with WinMo when I bought the X1, but I wasn't very good. Now, I have full control over every aspect of my device. It has integrated itself in my way of life. All thanks to this forum...
I don't want to promote myself in any way, but check this thread out. I have put some random thoughts concerning the X1 there :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506512
Cheers
For bigger incoming call notification you can also use a few other options:
-S2U2 has slide to answer support
-the touch HD caller also offers full screen caller ID
-resco (don`t know for sure)

Sorry but this is absolutely wrong... I used the OPTXperiabeta02.cab and experienced great loudness from that single speaker and hear the ring all the time, in fact the cab worked so well that I had to turn the sound down for calls as well... too loud...

No problem. We are here to help each other aren't we?
You can make it louder, but the SOUND QUALITY will not change. There is no bass and the high frequencies sound awful. The speaker is tiny and of bad quality. You had to turn it down, because the sound was unpleasant. Am I right?
I installed optxperia, too, and am very happy that I can hear my phone ringing better. The sound is somewhat distorted due to the limited speaker quality, so I turned it down. I am enjoying having good volume for games, alarms, and calls, though!
I don't need great speakers on a phone, because they are never going to equal the sound quality of good headphones, anyway. I always listen to music with really good headphones for a better listening experience, as I'm picky about sound quality.
i also help big problem looking at the caller id for incoming calls. stressing my eyes to do it. which application is better? where can i download PhoneEx 1.3?
thanks
Thanks orelsi for your detailed explanations ... it is really appreciated
A couple of googles later and I've got the Phonex 1.3.5 with which I am very happy now! Loyjwe ... if you are googling it, be sure to get the one for WM6.
@orelsi you mentioned a couple of programs such as Voice Call, Phone Tray Free, Ascendis Caller ID, Audio Caller ID. Do these work with windows mobile? I searched, but I go the general feeling that they were all for the regular windows.
As regards "black" ... yeah I guess I got myself the 10 points ... anyways, I'm a person that loves the colour blue and feel uncomfortable with black ... get a kind of "black is unlucky" feel! I'm certain I saw a link somewhere where I can set backgrounds everywhere to a picture I like ... guess I'll search for it!
@Shadowdh ... thank you for the OPTXperiabeta02.cab suggestion. Just got hold of it and will see if I'm happy with it
Generally .. a nice start! I guess I'll have more queries as I go along .., guess I really have to get used to WinMo
Thanks

I have tested many apps and I find that PhoneEx is the best for me personally. Remember that it messes with your 3G video calling though. I hope they fix that in future versions.

No problemo. Feel free to ask , that's what I did hehe...
You can change the backgrounds in the menus of WinMo (the general theme), but I don't think you can change the colours of diff programs. That is what you wanted right?
I'm sorry abut the apps. I said that I never tested any of them. I just googled them . I asked around a little bit and here is what I got .
Try these:
Mobile Speak - (this one is for blind people, but maybe it can be set to say only callers' names and nothing else)
MS Voice Commander has such an option.
HollerID
Cheers
Seriously, if u hate the tiny fonts and un-user friendly UI on the X1, read up and flash a custom ROM.
Like "dumbphones", the ROM/firmware in WinMo phones can be upgraded. The biggest advantage / benefit of WinMo over any of the other "smartphone" OS's around is that there are loads of ppl who are willing to setup and build customised firmwares so u get the benefits and features of other (HTC!) phones....
Read up on "HardSPL" in the Custom ROMs section and give it a go - if u do it right there's no way u'll brick your phone and it'll come out the otherside like a brand new (completely different + better!) phone...

Hi mate... sorry for the seemingly terse post above, was studying for exams and so was trying to be quick...
Yes we are indeed mate... I did not have to turn it down due to rubbish quality rather it was very very loud... like another poster mentioned I tend to use earphones for listening to podcasts (rather than music) and when I play video its usually pretty decent if through the speakers... sure its not dolby etc but hey its such a little bitty speaker...
