Titan / Android - Button LED'S - Mogul, XV6800 General

Is it possible to disable the service indicator lights?
Is it possible to get the button LED's to shutoff when the phone is in sleep/suspend mode? I know they are not using all that much power but its an annoyance at night?

there's NueLED.. but i havent really got into that program. Not exactly sure it works with the titan

NueLED Works perfectly on my titan.
Check it out..

[new release] VJPlumBum (HERMES ONLY) - Xmas Time

Guys, a minor distraction, to get us in the mood for Christmas..
Recommended for Hermes only.
It works on the Universal too, but looks odd.
It might work on the Wizard, but is not recommended.
It should work on all recent HTC WM5 devices, but I can't guarantee.
For those who don't want to play, you're not missing much, move along

PS Turn your volume up.

It made me smile, thank you!
I had to SR after it because the left LED started to blink green instead of right, and I've lost BT indication, which was left blue before, and nothing after this app.
Sorry, about that. That was the whole point actually, it was a test of some code I wrote to control the other leds. You'll have to soft reset to get proper led indications again, but you don't have to, everything will continue to work, just leds will be off.

Yeah, I don't have any reference material for the Wizard. It's tested and designed for Hermes because the two colour and tri colour LEDs are next to each other, which makes for a much sexier effect...

Cheers V - i will test on my brothers hermes when i next see him.
Take care
works on my spv m700 (trinity)
strangly i think this is a useful tool. I hate flashing leds so when it turns off the lights at the end it leaves them off. This is better than the registry hack as I don't loose vibrate on the ringing.
whilst I love the close encounters bit, can you make this into a little wizard so we can choose which led to turn off or reset to normal behaviour.
this is because i want all the leds off except the blue one which i prefer to leave on as I don't like to leave BT running all the time.
Don't need to know my phone is charging or that there is some notices, notification alert or alarm. (when its in my pocket Im not going to see it!)
thanks Vijay

Is there an issue with my HD?

Hi All,
every time i reboot my HD, the screen brightness dims? i always need to go through the battery icon to increase the brightness!! why is that?
Also, how can i set up sounds for when i switch my HD on and off? Custom sounds...
thanks in advance
this might be due to the light sensor on the right side of the (top front side) speaker, try http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-lumos.html

This must be the light sensor. You can switch off the sensor:
1. tap on the battery symbol.
2. In the neu screen tap again on the battery symbol
3. go to the second tab and switch it off

Try Schap´s Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3. There are some options for that (check the "HTC Animation" tab).
how about just going into settings\power and switching autoadjust backlight off?

Turn off screen when phone is face down?

Is there an app that will turn off the phone's screen when it is faced down?
I've been looking everywhere to find such and app and have not found one.
You shouldn't need a tweak to accomplish that. When you put the device face down, the proximity sensor will be blocked and will turn off your screen automatically.
(Unless you put it face down on an overhead projector surface!)

I'm no programmer but this seems like it would be relatively simple, I'm surprised it doesn't already exist (or if it does, a quick search for me turns up nothing).
it would have to use the light sensor as well as the accelerometer, though. If you ever look at your phone while laying down, the phone turning off while upside down would not be very useful

That feature only works when you are on a phone call.
It doesn't work outside of the call function unless I'm missing something. My screen definitely stays on when I put it faced down.
The reason I'm asking for an app like is is because I've been listening to audiobooks as I go to sleep. Since the speaker is on the back I leave the phone faced down on my bed. I'd like the screen to automatically turn off when I do that to conserve battery life. (I know I could just hit the power button, but I'd rather have something do it automatically).

Thanks for pointing out Gyrator for this. I never thought about using it for this.
Works like a charm for what I asked.
Now if I can find something that will turn the screen back on when I flip it face up again I'd be set.
Tonight I have written a little APP that will switch off the backlight when face down and turn it back on when you flip it over.
Seems OK on my device.

Disable lights when charging

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the orange led by the earpiece and/or physical button lights on the bottom of the phone when charging? The lights keep my wife up at night...
Currently running fresh 2.0d by the way.

Not to sound like a jackass, can't you just turn the phone over so the light is facing down?

Glass Desk? (Yes I have this problem if I sleep on one side of the bed lol).
It really would be nice to have a bit more control over the LED though.

yes, but that doesn't disable the lights, so its not an answer to the question, but possibly the only workaround if not possible. i don't have a "naked" phone so i'm also not sure if without a case the trackball wouldn't be in the way of facing it down
i'm interested in this too as i'd rather have my phone face up at night vs. down so that instaed of having to grab my phone to disable an alarm, i can just reach over and swipe it down or snooze...
R
I run a clock on the phone at night. I got desperate enough last night to carve "endcaps" out off styrofoam to cover the lights...not very elegant, but works for now I suppose.

He said the lights keep his wife up, so I would think it is a solution since the light would be facing downwards and thus be much less visible.
I was going to look in to this since I already know how to control the leds via command line... but I would rather not re-invent the wheel.
Search the market for leds hack (put the s in leds or it won't find it. I believe it's also a protected app so make sure you're on a rom that shows it). Run it, select Nexus 1. Done.
The trackball led stays on at first but just hit the power button and it turns off. I know it says it only works for droid and nexus1 but I just tested it for you.

I have been using this for a while with bedside pro. the track ball does stay on. I have not been able to figure out how to turn it off.

On my phone it turns off and stays off as soon as I put the phone to sleep. Well anyways I just spoke to the developer and let him know what's up with it and he's going to look in to disabling the trackball. I offered my assistance if he needs any help tracking it down on our phones.

I put my phone on a dock, and it serves as my alarm clock. I like to be able to see what time it is, so turning phone down is not an option. Right now I slide the top of an old phone holster over the top inch or 2 of the phone just to block the LED.

Wow, I have to say I envy you guys who get to sleep in such dark rooms.
For the past 20 years of so I've been so close to bright street lights that even with heavy curtains something as dim as the LEDs on a phone isn't even noticable (much less be enough of a bother to keep me awake...).
It's one of the things I absolutely love about camping, getting to sleep in actual darkness.
I know I'm not offering any solutions here, just saying that if you can even notice the LEDs on the phone at night, be thankful that you don't have much light pollution to deal with.

Haha, I have electrical tape over all my LED's on computers etc in my room. I have two sets of blinds, and my area is just dark to begin with.
Darkness > *
The phone I just turn upside down though so it's never been an issue.
Luckily for me my wife hasn't said anything about my Hero keeping her up. But then again, I don't charge it while I sleep. My old phone had an LED all the way across the top of the phone and blinked every 15 seconds. I had to turn that one upside down or cover it with clothes.

Completely disable button backlights?

Hey guys,
I've searched but I can't find an answer. I'm using an Incredible S ROM on my HD2 at the moment that leaves the hardware keys constantly on when the screen is on - I don't like this, and don't ever need the backlight for the keys as I know where they are now. Is there any way I can disable this totally?
Thanks,
Zuka

Hey,
if your build is using the same init script as rafdroid you can try this:
create a file called "config.txt" on the root of your sdcard copy/type this line: auto_btn_backlight=0 - then reboot.
this is also worked with dandiest builds, so Might work for you.
Hi, thanks for your reply
I'm not running one of Raf's or Dandiest's ROMs, mine doesn't have an init script so this won't work. Is there any other way? Seeing as those ROMs have different button backlight drivers I'm assuming there has to be a way to control their on/off states
I'm not trying to be annoying by bumping, but this keeps falling off the radar and I'm sure there's a way to do this, if anyone could point me in the right direction that'd be awesome

Sound like an unstable ROM. My only advice is to try a different one. If you like pure android you can try tytung's ROM. It's the best, just follow my sig.
...what?
Why does my ROM sound unstable? The button backlights aren't actually causing a problem, I just don't need them. Ever. I'm looking for a way to disable them, but I like (love) my ROM after months of searching

Hey
guessed u didnt have a rom from raf or dandi, they havent released an Incredible S build yet.
mind telling us which Incredible S you have or is it a secret
& you are right, it has nothing to do with stability, its the newer light drivers, this was implemented to fix the led notifications, not sure if you can change this (always on) behavior without going back to the old drivers.
p.s. how do you know your build doesnt have an init script, have you tried the config.txt?
Hey mate,
I'm using Korand's stripped down Incredible S build - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1019489
The reason I'm assuming it doesn't have an init script is because, apart from the battery percentage icon, I think everything else is stock, judging from Korand's first psot. It's hard to tell because there's not much support for the ROM
I wouldn't mind going back to the old light drivers though, or just rendering both the notification LEDs and button backlights inoperable. Don't use either really
bumpity bumpity yeah

Theres an app in android market for that...its called "ADJ Brightness" which basically allows yoy to adjust and lock the screen brightness. It can be set to extremely low (much lower than android lowest setting...or extremely high, again higher than android default max
But if you hit menu then chose "options" there near the bottom you will see the option to Lock the button lights OFF...works a treat and saves me a lot of battery jiuce. Also in this options menu you can chose to have the little charging led either On or Off...I find this used in conjunction with "button saviour" and another app that allows me to wake the phone with the volume rocker means i dont need to use the H/W keys at all
Dont know if this is what your after but hopefully it may help.
Thanks Con, I installed the app
It does let me control the hardware buttons, allows me to turn them off, but whenever I press them they just come back on again, despite checking "always off" in the settings
But at least this shows that they can be controlled, even on an HD2
any other ideas?
Ah, sorry zuka, i have only just noticed this as well...yes it seems the backlight does reactivate when i again use the buttons. However i am using Rafdroid 4.2 rom which allows the backlight to off after 10 seconds. So i guess your issue does lie within your rom
I no longer use the hardware buttons (or very rarely) instead i opt to use the onscreen replacments within button savior, Which is why i didnt notice that the backlight does re-activate when the buttons are used...this seems to overide the adj.bright app. But like i say my light is only on for 10 secs or not at all using adj & BS.
Sorry dude am at a loss as to how you could fix this as it does sound frustrating
Nah, thanks for your reply anyway. It's not like this is a horrible bug, it's just annoying because I don't want the hardware buttons at all, I know that they can be controlled but I just can't figure out how to keep the damn things off...
if anybody has any other ideas, I'd welcome them. at this point I'm stumped
Has anybody been thinking about this for a while and has a solution?
Hey
ADJ Brightness should do the work for you
just play with the setting( Menu-option)
lock screen brightness, so it stays off.
good luck
tried this app a while a go and it solved this problem.
