Hi,
my X1 runs with the newest FW. If I click on a youtube video streaming media opens, but it only buffers the video if I am connected by UMTS. Wlan doesnot work.
Under settings I tried everything from "internet" to "WAP" but nothing works ecxept my mobile connection?
Is this a known bug, or is there a workaround?
Thanks for help!
Carsten

You need to use TCMP player it plays the flv videos. Google it and you should find it http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/ somewhere on the net is the settings that allow you to play utube videos.
Good luck it does work I just haven't done it in forever.

The most easy way to play youtube videos and even videos from other sites is to use a program called "vTap"
Or you can check out this thread that I started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365252
You can play in opera mobile, but the performence in my experience is that it is very slow!
Good luck!
thank you, it works very well
I have a problem with Youtube program on my HD.
When I'm connected to WiFi, everything works ok.
But when I'm connected to 3G, Youtube doesn't want to play videos. I can search the videos, see the thumbnails and description, but when I select the video, the comand line with play, stop, etc. opens and just shows Connecting. After a while there's an error that the video can't be played.
If I watch youtube videos through Opera or IE with streaming, they work ok also over 3g...
I've got SPB pocket plus 4.0.3. beta installed and other programs like Garmin, core player, montecristoff hd tweak, etc.
Do you have any idea what might be wrong ?
Thanks Andrej
If I am correct this problem can be solved with the proxy settings.

Just a little update, I've found, that if disable the proxy, everyting works, including browsing, messenger, youtube,...
Tip: Make BBC Iplayer work on your Windows Mobile phone (info found elsewhere)
The BBC’s iPlayer service has been rolling out and supporting more and more smartphones, but as they do it on a device by device basis that has left the varied ecosystem of Windows Mobile at a distinct disadvantage.
Fortunately we have more control than most over our devices, and the following hack will allow the video streaming service to work on any device.
You need to change the user agent in Opera Mobile to spoof the Samsung Omnia, the only supported Windows Mobile phone.
The instructions are as follow:
Run Opera
In the address bar enter opera:config (no http://)
Scroll down to User Prefs and click
Scroll down to Custom User-Agent and at the end of the pre-filled text add sgh-i900
Scroll down some more and press Save. You will get a prompt which suggests you may need to reset the phone, but for this you don’t.
Check you have HTC Streaming Media Installed - If you do point your browser to http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer/ and enjoy. The video opens in HTC Streaming Player on HTC smartphones.
Thanks a lot edna.road, just tried it and it works perfectly
I saw this aswell, here - http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=1794
Just flashed to Dutty's V4 so going to try it when i get it back on
Tried this before christmas, but I prefer watching Iplayer through Skyfire. The latest beta works just as good. You can watch any flv site through it such as youtube etc so
The iplayer now works with the HTC Touch HD and looks great, is that getting a higher quality stream than the version for the sgh-900i?
I have tried using the same user agent as the HD
‘HTC Touch HD T8282 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)' on my standard HTC Diamond but get the message device not supported.
How is the iplayer webpage seeing the difference between my Diamond and a HTC Touch HD?
I have got the BBCi Player page to work in opera but when I click on a video it switches to streaming media then sits on buffering 0% then says can't find network!
This is on my work wifi though will try again when I am at home.
Works for me....
It works fine for me, though only at home via WiFi. Can't get it working via 3G, but may be it's not designed to?
Yeah If I have wifi turned off it asks to turn it on, but I only get GPRS or Edge at work, It may work On HSDPA

lol exactly!
I have got this to work with HSDPA, it streams pretty well.
Unfortunately the method is far from perfect.
After doing the above fix, connect to wifi and find the stream you want.
Start it playing and then pause, go back to comm manager, turn wifi off and phone on, it should continue streaming fine.
Not ideal though I know.
This suggests that it's the beeb blocking it rather than the carrier. Hmmm.
("Hmmm" was just to make me sound wise - I have no fracking clue what to do next)
Are there any WM phones where it's known to work over the air?
BBC now reports native support HTC Touch HD, over wifi+3G. Does anyone have the User Agent for the HD, as would like to try it on my Diamond
http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/about_iplayer/mobile_phone
hmmn still only wifi for us diamond users on orange it seems, this is taken from theabove link check paragraph 3:-
What each heading means
Download TV programmes over wifi to watch later without needing an internet connection. If you download a programme, you can watch or listen to it for 7 days. Devices that don't currently support the digital rights management (DRM) system that we use for BBC iPlayer cannot download programmes to watch or listen to later.
Watching TV programmes while connected to the internet over a wifi connection.
Watching TV programmes while connected to the internet over a 3G connection - *only available on 3 and Vodafone networks at present.
Radio - listen again or listen live to programmes while connected to the internet.
Sideload - transfer a programme from your PC to your mobile device to play without needing an internet connection.
Good tip but I'd prefer it to work through HSDPA. Any chance of this happening soon?
Here in the netherlands T-mobile delivers to it's WnW+ users a extra called t-mobile tv.
Normaly i used HTC Streaming Media for the streams but with the coming of WM6.1 roms i can't use the program anymore.
Now i have to use Coreplayer for it instead.
But the only problem i have with coreplayer is that is verry unstable for the t-mobile tv.
I used to use HTC streaming media and that worked verry good.
So i just wanted your help fo sollutions.
When i select the streams HTC streaming media opens and than try's to connecting.
After a few seconds/minutes it than give's a error can't find network.
Than i accosiate the files with coreplayer and it works.
For coreplayer i use a dirrect connection and also udp streaming most be on?
Does someone kwow a sollution or has advice for this problem.
the streams are at t-mobile.nob.nl (but only for use in the netherlands with t-mobile and a wnw+ package)

Sorry if I'm asking you something obvious, but have you set your provider details in streaming media under menu>options>network>connect via?
Sometimes proxy settings can also prevent you 'finding' your network.

Yes..tried al settings..but no succes.
Recently purchased a HD2 and was trying to play you tube videos with the factory installed youtube app but it doesnot work,
Tried opening youtube webpage in opera/IE and tried palying the videos but of no use. Could some one tell me hoe to play you tube videos
why the installed youtube-app didnt work for you? it works flawlessy here, no matter if I connect via UMTS / HSDPA or simply EDGE..
You cant play youtube-videos via a browser because there is no flash-plugin installed within them.
but if you really want to play them via opera, just install opera 10 mobile and activate the flash-plugin in the settings.
i have a 3g connection & even trie with the wi-fi connection in both cases it fails
