Into XDA-Developers forum we're all have seen several WM 5.0 - WM6.0 - WM6.5 ROM's for different discontinued Pocket PC devices has already start showing up, including one for the iPAQ 6xx or other WM2003 Pocket PC devices. Then why there's nothing new for the hp iPAQ h6365 or h63xx series? Is anyone working on anything or doesn't really care to make, modify or cooked ROM for discontinued hp iPAQ WM2003 devices?
Is there possible to upgrade hp iPAQ h6365 WM2003 to WM5 / WM6.0 / WM6.1 or to WM6.5 just like the others Pocket PC? I'm already seeing that minimum requirements O2 XDA II / HTC Himalaya WM2003 enable to upgrade WM6.5 or O2 XDA II Mini / HTC Magician WM2003SE enable upgrade to WM6.1, so why I'm still didn't see for hp iPAQ h6365 WM2003 or hp iPAQ h63xx series?
I hope in the future there's a WM OS ROM Upgrade for hp iPAQ h6365 from WM2003 to WM2003SE / WM5.0 / WM6.0 / WM6.1 or to WM6.5 OS and I'm very really hope that there'll be a cooked ROM WM5 or WM6 for hp iPAQ h6365 or hp iPAQ h6300 series devices.
To XDA-Developers Members thanks before for has read my questions & i'm really very be thankfully if there's a cooked ROM WM5 or WM6 for my device hp iPAQ h6365. Thanks before if you will reply my post!

Somebody please reply my post, please?
I was sick of waiting for something to come out for the 910c/912c/914c, so I learned how to cook one myself. There are tons of materials and people who can help here. But you have to do some leg-work.
Honestly, that's the only way any of our devices get ROMs - somebody like you decides to do one yourself. You don't need to be a math genius or a computer engineer to do it either - I'm just a law student, for instance.
So can you tell me how I learned to cook or modified ROM for my hp iPAQ h6365 one myself from WM2003 to WM2003SE, or to WM5.0, or to WM6.0, or to WM6.1, or to WM6.5 just like HTC Himalaya (O2 XDA II)?
Can you give me the clue to do it myself without waiting someone in XDA-Developers to hear my request or do it for me? Can you? Please reply my post as soon as possible?
Thanks before for your attentions!
Well, I myself learned by searching the forums and talking to people - but my task was easier since I was porting from a WM6.1 factory ROM. Still, certainly WM2003 devices have got WM6.5 cooked ROMs on xda-devs so it is possible.
First thing you have to do is learn how to dump the ROM or extract a manufacturer's ROM update and dump that. If you can do the latter, go for it (easier). If you must do the former, you might want to learn a bit about your device hardware using pdadb.net and looking for tools used to dump from similar devices.
Taking the initiative and teaching yourself by reading the forums - so that your questions are targeted and specific - is helpful. Also being patient, not pushy, is a good strategy.
I guess it's not much really helpful. I'm just need you to show me how to do that? How to modified or cooked my hp iPAQ h6365 ROM. Please show to me the step by step to cooking my own self hp iPAQ h6365. Probably my device are unable to upgrade.

Dude, just start by going here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...esId=430120&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1087
and downloading the most recent device ROM from HP. Make sure you have a program like WinRAR or 7-zip installed on your computer. Right-click the update file and "Open Archive". Then you should see a bunch of nbf files. You need to start with that.
Search the xda-developers forums - and talk to people with other devices that started in WM2003 and were ported up to WM5/WM6/WM6.1/WM6.5 . The iPAQ 6365 was made by HTC, I think... so you'll get more help from those people than from those of us with non-HTC devices like the 61x or the 91x. Also the WM2003 memory model was entirely different - I think the XIP is like 40 MB ! So you're trying to do something that most of us haven't had to do.
I'm just saying that complaining isn't going to help.

Why I still haven't found anything for my hp iPAQ h6365 in here http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/hp-h6300-h6315-h6340-pocket-pc-phone/ or in here http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/hp-h6300-h6315-h6340-pocket-pc-phone/46934-app-edit-extended-rom.html too. It so hard & desperately difficult to find way to upgrade, modified & cooking ROM for my hp iPAQ h6365.
You can cook it normally with the normal tools I think. But I don't know and I don't have time today. Can somebody please extract a bootloader and upload it somewhere. Thanks
I think my device has become history http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/hp-h6300-h6315-h6340-pocket-pc-phone/58877-rom-update-failed-h6365-bootloader-mode-have-malfunction.html but why O2 XDA II able to upgrade & mine are unable, in OS they're has same WM2003? http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/hp-h6300-h6315-h6340-pocket-pc-phone/82535-upgrade-wm5.html#post784527 I'm still hoping a hope ... http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/hp-h6300-h6315-h6340-pocket-pc-phone/80247-help-updating-6325-6365-1-11-solved.html I believe there'll still be a hope someday http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/hp-h6300-h6315-h6340-pocket-pc-phone/80031-windows-mobile-5-0-a.html
I need a extracted bootloader. The bootloader is the problem. If it has 2 parts IPL SPL then you are lucky. It will work then. If not then you have to write one. And that takes much time. And the drivers have to be ported too. So please give me a extracted bootloader. Otherwise I can't help you man.
Where I should find extracted bootloader for hp iPAQ h6365? I'm still searching & there's nothing I couldn't find, can you give me a clue?
I think you can extract it yourself from the phone. We in Charmer section can do it with MTTY. I don't know about your device.
I'm still can't found it bro but if you needed latest ROM for hp iPAQ h6365 here's ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp30001-30500/sp30393.exe
It is on your device! Extract it from there!!!!

PDA France dug up some details about the HTC Galaxy, a new GPS-enabled Pocket PC from HTC (their first, in fact) that looks to be about the same size as the HTC Magician and that runs Windows Mobile 5.0 and has a 300MHz processor, 64MB of Flash ROM, 32MB of RAM, a 2.8-inch, 320 x 240 pixel LCD screen, Bluetooth, WiFi, and an SDIO expansion card slot. Odd to see HTC pumping out something which isn’t also a cellphone, but they’ve probably figured out from their Taiwanese brothers-in-ODM that there’s actually some decent money in dedicated GPS handhelds. Won’t be out until around the end of year.
Again, for the 100000st time: It might be possible to load WM5 onto the Magician, but this can be done ONLY by HTC and MS. And they won't do it EVER!! Why? Have a look:

me too
Why is it posted in the Magician forum? The URL already tells it is about the Prophet! :evil:
Because it's particularly of interest to Magician owners who, if they are lie me, will upgrade to this when the contract is up. :wink:
Looking at the MDA Compact II, the only main difference from our Magician is the processor. All other hardware is presumably the same as the Magician's (memory size is not significant).
So ..... if 3rd party software can run on any of the CPUs, why cant' WM5? Or is it that 3rd party software for the TI OMAP processor is compiled specifically for that CPU?
Just wondering :?
WM5 probably could run on Magician and potentially any device.
I'm not educated enough to answer correctly, but AFAIK anyone can build WM5 for the Magician using platform builder, but getting it work is the problem. We don't have compatible drivers etc specifically written for the device (as you can see with some of the WM5 builds for blue angel). So without proper drivers for all the hardware, it won't be "compatible" with all of the hardware.
Mamaich is the man for this question though. His Wizard ROM should open up doors I imagine.
V
I'm well aware of the drivers issue but with an MDA Compact II ROM the drivers should work just fine as it is essentially the same hardware. No?
More specifically, my question should be: is it JUST the different processor that won't allow us to use a WM5 Compact II ROM on our Magician? And if it is so, how come? (if 3rd party sofware can run on both processors with the same build?)
Actually, went down to a computer store on Friday and tested the HP IPAQ 1950. It only had 64MB ROM and 32MB RAM and 300MHz but it was very fast to operate which is surprising. Faster than an O2 mini display model.
Note that all display models only have factory settings with software that comes preinstalled. Comparing an O2 mini 64MB RAM/64 MB ROM 416MHz WM2003SE with an HP rx1950 32MB RAM/64MB ROM 300MHz WM 5.0, the rx1950 felt faster plus the HP screen was 3.5" as well.
I guess i they wanted to release an upgrade to WM 5.0 for the O2 mini/iMate JAM they could but why bother because they'll make more money selling the next model with WM 5.0
I think the O2mini noob is absolutely right. They just want to sell new Devices. Why else don't they give an Update to WM5 for XDA II / III although there are unofficial leaks?
Why they don't want to release WM5 for the Magician is pretty obvious now, look at HTC Charmer and HTC Prophet ... but the question is why can't we have a COOKED ROM from the HTC Charmer? What is the technical reason why an HTC Charmer/MDA Compact II ROM does not work on the Magician?
Well for a start the nbf for the t-mob charmer will need to a bit of chopping first to fit on a magician, since its 72mb. plenty of room on the charmers 128mb rom but not for the magician.
Since HTC promissed an update to turn on the aGPS functionallity in the Trinity, and it's basically the same phone (or at least chipset) as the Hermes (please correct me if I'm wrong), any chance we may be getting a similar firm-ware update?

If no one has said about it, then probably not. No, i doubt that there is a GPS chipset that can be enabled in the hermit.
i-mate SP JAM communicator , early info [ 07-12-2006 07:18 ]
In the Internet emerged the info on new model by i-mate SP JAM communicator.
Under the preliminary info, i-mate SP JAM is equipped with a hybrid keyboard (digital and QWERTY). I’d note larger flash ROM size and GPS-functionality. The specs known at the moment:
* Operating system - Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Edition
* GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and EDGE
* CPU - Freescale i.MX21 350 MHz or i.MX31 535 MHz
* 2.8” touchscreen LCD, QVGA (240x320 pixels) and 262K colors
* 64 MB RAM and 256 MB flash ROM
* Slot for miniSD cards
* 2-megapixel camera
* 12-channel GPS-module
* Li-Pol 1300 mAh
* Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g)
* miniUSB, IrDA, TV-out

Hi, any updated information about this? since Hermes use the same Qualcomm chipset as Trinity, will HTC enable the AGPS function?
This would be such fortuitous serendipity, that I am not even entertaining any hope. Built in GPS on the Hermes would certainly sit it atop the pile. The only other QWERTY phone with GPS is the e-ten M700 I think, and it has no wheel.
Hello,
I have scoured the forums and think the name of my phone is the Andes. I am unable to find a guide on how to install the roms and software from a complete beginners point of view. Please help i bought mine off ebay and it has a problem. If i could flash it i could rule out the phone being faulty.

CPU Intel (R) PXA263
speed 400Mhz
Ram 128Mb
Flash 32Mb
chip type 28F128K3
storage 14.57Mb
Identity PH10B
Is it an Alpine or a Himalaya?
and can it be upgraded hardware and software?

PH10B makes it a Himalaya and so it can be upgraded to WM6.
The Alpine and Himalaya are externally identical with the exception of an Alpine saying Xda IIi and not XdaII. The other check is does your have any WiFi, i suspect not as it's a Himalaya.
Hello, I Realy Need Some Help, I Have An XDA 2I Running MW 2003 SE >. (Alpine) 50 Gs Storage 50 Gs Programs... Im Am So Sick OF 2003 Se... I Hate It Soo Much.. I Will Be Happy Even To Run Linux On The Dam Thing.... I Have Upgraded My XDA2 To Wm 5.. But It dosent Work Anymore.... I realy Need to change the mobile os on my 2i.... please even android will be good anything... I Have tried so many upgrades for XDA2 but they dont work they say connection error. Please help me any mobile OS.. Even A Samsung OS..
IIi don't even have stable WM5 or WM6. Android on this device is pure fantasy, not to mention that Samsung crap.
Also, you should check Alpine forums, not Himalayas. You will more likely find your answers there.
Maybe sell that IIi and buy something different? Older WM6 devices are dirt cheap, or skip to Android. IIi will be probably stuck at 2003SE for a long time...
How do i get to the alpine fourms... And i dont have any money ATM.
It's right here: HTC Alpine
When you are looking for a specific device on XDA forums, there is a search box in the top right corner marked "find your device..."
Hope that helps
