My review of the screen protector from Nushield.
(Purchased 2 anti glare, 1 clear model screen protector [comes in a package of 3 only]~ 12 USD)
Install:
-Installation is pretty straightforward but requires some experimenting to get the film in.(Doesn't use a sticky film, but rather a slide in)
-Warning, Make sure that there is no dust under the screen! It is a pain to take out. Trust me i know, i accidently wasted a film by bending it to take it out.
-When you first get the product, u might think that the screen protector they sent you wasn't yours since it looked to big to be fitted in. But actually it fits perfectly once u manage to slide all sides in.
Sensitivity loss:
-On a scale of 10(10 meaning no sensitivity, and 0 meaning no screen protector) it receives a 1.
-However, I did find a HUGE improvement in the touchflo scrolling than without the screen protector.(If you own a kaiser, you should know of the smears and awkwardness of sliding ur thumb to scroll.)
Overall feel and look:
-I actually dont notice it, and it is fingerprint proof.
-Using touchflo feature, the thumb easily slides across with no smears, in other words i dont get that suction feeling.
-And dont forget this is a slide in, so you dont get those bubbles you get from using the provided screen protector you got with the kaiser. The screen protectors surface is really smooth, its like sliding a thumb across a sheet of printing paper)
PS: I have not tried the clear film yet, and dont think i have to. The antiglare film seems to be secure and feels as if it can last years...
My rating for the nushield screen protector is a 9/10.(would be 10/10 if it was easier to install, but then it wouldn't work as good )
As for purchase instructions, go to www.nushield.com and choose the HTC TYTN as for screen specs since it is the same as the kaiser. (I was foolish to try to custom make the screen protector for the kaiser only to realize that its the same size as the tytn!!*got email telling me that *) You can mix and match as i did by putting which films you would want under the comments on checkout.
Thanks for that, i was looking for a good screen protector but i didnt want those sticky ones. This is perfect and from your review, it seems to do a great job too!
Thanks, i just ordered one, but as you said, there was no 'kaiser' ones so i just ordered it for the tytn
I'll always be a fan of PocketPCTechs.com's WriteShields. And during October, you can get 20% off if you use this coupon code: PPCTRC1007
Type it into the Special Instructions field.
Just as an FYI to anyone else considering ordering the NuShield: I decided to try some based on this review, and also decided to get two anti-glare and one clear. I got the following response:
While we are always trying to be accommodating to our customers
special requests, this one has gotten out of hand. Someone must have
posted on a discussion board that we will do this. This request is
now occurring several times daily and represents a significant amount
of time and effort to put these special packages together.

Guess they don't like doing that very much.
EDIT: and fwiw, they appear to currently be out of anti-glare anyway, so I ended up ordering clear.
Martin Field's OverlayPlus
Best. Screen protector. Ever. Period.
It's non sticky, invisible, and best of all: If you mess up (e.g. bubbles, dust) while putting it on, you can just rinse it off with water, let it dry for a few minutes (or blow dry), and voila: It's clean and sticks again.
I've been using these things on my mobile phones, PDA's, Nintendo DS, etc, for as long as I can remember. Even after 5 years, you can simply take the screen protector off and your screen will look brand new.
Already have a small scratch? Put the screen protector on and it's gone

I thought the 8525 is the same as the TyTN, and the screen protectors for it won't quite fit the Tilt.
But you can confirm these will fit the Tilt?

Unless it's an unusually small screen protector for the TyTn/8525, you are correct that it will be too large for the Tilt. I had to trim about a millimeter off of each dimension of my Boxwave ClearTouch Anti-Glare for it to fit.
I really like the Boxwave protectors. I had one protector last for over two years on my Treo 650, and similar to another protector described, if you want to clean it just use hand soap and water and stick it right back on.
In fact, I found that if the protector is slightly wet, it is much easier to get the bubbles out. It took almost no effort after I trimmed it when I put it onto my Tilt's screen.
So do any of these make the screen easier to see in direct sunlight?
I just ordered 2 BRANDO superclear ones ... have had a lot of phones and have had a lot of screen protectors but i have to say brando is DEFINATELY the best.

I've never came across any that would. The only thing that helps is the... ummm, shade.

I confirmed it in my review. BTW Dont be stupid and trim it, it fits perfectly, trimming it would cause it to be loose once its in which will become an annoyance.
I just received the overlay plus screen protector for the tytn, and it does not fit the kaiser screen. The tytn overlay is larger than the kaiser's screen. I hope martin fields accepts exchanges.

keep trying to fit it in, if you read the original review he says that it's very hard to get it in there, but once it's in...it's gonna do good.
I was able to fit it in but its not on perfectly because the overlay uses a silicone adhesive, which makes it somewhat difficult to maneuver unlike the nushield screeprotectors which you just slip in.

wait....i think this is a case of miscommunication, I thought that you couldnt insert the NuShield protectors in, so I said to keep trying because the original poster said that it took him a little bit, but now it seems like you are talking about another kind of protector.
Conclusion: I'm confused
a lot of 99 cents only stores have 10 for 1 screen protectors that are larger than the kaiser. i bought like 5 of these (50 count) and just cut them to the size of the manufacturer's protector. it takes about a minute and avoids the highway robbery of screen protector prices.

Sorry for the confusion. I purchased the Martin Fields Overlay Plus screen protector and not the Nushield one that the OP reviewed.

aaaah, makes sense. I already have my 6gb micro sdhc and my nushield protectors...im just waiting for my kaiser
Nushield now has a drop down menu for Tilt in ATT and TyTn II in HTC sections. I will order them since it seems like a pretty good value.
i ordered a shield from shieldzone.com
i have used them on my blackjack and digital camera, but never a PPC device so I will have to see how well it works..
Got this today and it's significantly shorter than the screen (3/16"). Any other owners - is this normal? Expected it to be a flush fit.
Anyone? I know people have them - they were recommended on here repeatedly. Thanks in advance.
Havn't got mine yet. Their US site was backordered so I ordered from across seas. It should be here some time this week though.
I recently got boxwave protector.
Quite good and smooth under the stylus.
funny, i've had a few and they alway fit perfectly. perhaps take a picture of the fit and email them, and post the pic and their response here for reference.
well, i've had a few on the 3.5" devices, none for the 2.8" so its been a few years since i've had one i guess
This is funny because I thought the same thing and was really really angry. But it actually fits perfectly. I think you made the same mistake I did by sliding it too far up (going underneath the front housing) causing it to be too short and not fit right. If you line up the screen protector perfectly with the screen it should fit perfectly. Look at the piece you peeled it off from and compare it to the size of the screen and you will see what I mean.
I ordered another one because it wasn't too good after i took it off the first one. Hope this helps.
Expert Shield screen protectors are just as good and are half the price.

kp's got it right. i think OP slid the protector under the top frame of the screen. i made this mistake the first time i put in this screen protector too after positioning it correctly, it fits perfectly.
great screen protector btw. WAY better than the OEM one.
I have gone through many different screen protectors over the years, and I have one thing to say about all of them - none of them hold a candle to Martin Fields.
Every one I have bought on eBay have made my screen look grainy, for lack of a better word. It's like looking through a screen door. Only MF protectors look, and act, like the actual screen. It's like they are completely invisible. It is most noticable when you turn your phone on in the dark.
Yes, $25 for two of them is kinda spendy, but WELL worth the money. They are easy to apply and reusable. Wash them under the faucet, let dry, and reuse it. All the other ones are one use only (despite their claims).
I just received my screen protector from NuShield and I have to say I am extremely impressed with them. It comes in a pack of 3 for $11.99 and they are not adhesive. They fit perfectly, you dont have to worry about air bubbles, and the clarity is very good. You can get clear of anti-glare. I got the clear ones and once they are on you cant really tell they are there. The only thing negative I have to say about it is that it is a little tricky to install, but once I figured out the proper way to do install the protector it was easy. I would definitely recommend this as an alternative to adhesive screens.
Has anyone used one of these protectors in combination with one of the cubes floating around?
any issues (eg loss of sensitivity/harder to get touchflo to respond etc..)??
I completely agree with Lidberg. The Martin Fields is the best screen protector I've used to date. I had a couple pieces of lint/hair get on it during installation. I peeled it back up, took a piece of tape, pulled the lint/hair off the protector and placed it back down with no issue or bubbles. It has no effect on the touch screen either. Great product!
Well I ordered my Martin Fields on January 7 and it's still not here... blah. I'll give my 2 cents soon... hopefully...
So I've tested a few screen protectors:
The Invisishield
Martin Fields
Expert Shield
Invisishield IMO is VERY clear very easy to apply, NO BUBBLES!!! it's just very VERY grippy and is a PITA to use with your fingers.
Martin Fields and Expert Shield all in all are basically the same IMO same clarity, they have about the same degree of difficulty to put on (which isn't hard but harder than the Invisishield) and they are cut perfectly
The Expert Shield costs less, but is much harder to find, it took me a LONG time to find the expert shield for the kaiser =/
I also compared the Martian Fields and Expert Shield on my SE W810i with same results as the one for the Kaiser
IMO Martin Fields of the Expert Shield you can't go wrong with either
Well finally got my Martin Fields today and let me just say if there was ever a more difficult screen protector to put on, the manufacturer should be in court.
With that said it fits and feels great, and looks pretty darn good. I can tell it's there (just because I stared at it) but it looks pretty nice.

I appreciate your warning, however this has been discussed in great depth before on this thread and is why HTC so nicely provided you with a protector in the first place
thanks for reply .I do not know this thread discussed before, and if i knew so my screen still clean

If you search you will find that there are threads about replacement covers for people who have scratched their HD. Most likely in the Blackstone accessories forum
I knew this after seeing my work mates Diamond, he asked me what the clear plastic on the box was for just a little too late Im afraid
Having had an LG Viewty for 18 months and using their stylus on it constantly, I found the screen protector to be much more of a hinderance than a help and as a consequence had not used the screen protector on my HTC Touch HD.
YMMW.
IMHO As far as quality goes there are screen protectors and there are screen protectors.
I always use one but have had problems in the past with el-cheapo ones so I only buy decent brands which a worth the month as they last a LONG time, do not hinder the interaction with the touch screen or alter the viewing experience.
And don't worry too much Gray_Fox, again IMHO it doesn't matter what you write on this forum someone will always chip in with a very supportive "use the search function!" Do a search on being told to use the search function and you will see what I mean ;-)
i think ive used mt stylus twice since i got device
yh i never really use mine especially with duttys rom

Obviously it can scratch, it's only plastic. The front of my HD has little scratches all over it, all on the included screen protector.
Keep the tip of your stylus clean or use a screen protector, pretty much common sense really.
I use mine all the time, and i have no scratches at all. You people must press VERY hard!
Kind of them to bundle a screen protector with the package but why not send a Blackstone that's already got one applied? Or even better just make a more resilient screen, I don't remember any other of my HTCs having this problem!
i've been looking around for a new screen/full body protector the last couple of days. there are several that i was just about to buy, but then here and there you read about how the screen feels thick and gummy upon sliding ur finger on it.
any suggestion on which screen/full body protector gave u good results in this area? i dont care about the cost or other minor details, i just want it to feel smooth when sliding my finger over the screen.
i use the ones from http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_phone.aspx?i=173502.
i've had no experience with other aftermarket ones, so cant compare against them. however the ones from htcaccessorystore are on-par with those supplied by HTC in retail box.
uniqueskins.com
i purchased and designed my own. then bought a crystal clear hard case off ebay super cheap. looks really custom.

Personally I would use an invisible shield, They are a pain in the a to apply but worth it... there are videos on their site and youtube. They protect very well against keys and scratches. I used them both on my HD and diamond, they get easier to fit fortunately!
You can pick them up on ebay and online for about £16
hope this helps
A lot of screen protector threads already exist and lots of info on them in accessories forum. No need for this thread. Just post your queries on one of the existing ones

Hey guys, I'm looking for a specific screen protector and have searched everywhere for its name to purchase but no luck.
Here's a description, It barely picksup fingerprints BUT it's not opaque antiglare.
It feels rubbery and has a sticky back, NOT reusable.
Thanks in advance guys!
zagg invisibleSHIELD?
Thanks! Went ahead and purchased it for $5.
I suppose it's that one, I thought it would be named an Anti-smear or Anti-smude screen protector, I will update on the quality once received.
i was totally happy with my full body kit for well over a year, and for that price (i paid three times that for the full kit) it can almost be considered no-loss. I only stopped using it when o2 replaced my screen, and by that time i'd stopped worrying too much about the screen so never replaced it.
Hey guys got the screen protector, seemed promising however after installation noticed distortion on the image quality tiny grainy dots that gave a rainbow effect, didn't go away even after waiting a few hours, my friend has a matte finish protector on his S2 which has the same effect.
Well was worth a shot didn't lose much, thanks!
I've had all the major premium brand screen protectors and I can say clear-coat scream protector works the best on my opinion.
To answer your question though it would seem it would either be the one I mentioned or the Zagg brand.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
I am a girl, so use mirror protector, haha, much to the jokes from my friends. I find it amazing, the only downfall is the sunlight legibility, which is not great anyway, but is even further compromised with mirrored finish. Other than that - the coolest look, everyone thinks it's some kind of new tech!!!
