For some reason my new sms' always show at the bottom of the list.
It was like this up until a few days ago.
Any ideas on how to get it back the 'right' way?

Just go to your SMS/ MMS Inbox.
At the top, on the right-hand side click the "Received" drop down and click on the option "Received" again.
This changes the order between Ascending and Descending options.

Is it possible to remap the buttons on the htc home plugin (meaning the sms and email buttons located below the clock)?

yeah i have tried, just I could not find anything..
I searched "remap htc touch home buttons" and every variant of these words I could think of on XDA and Google.. couldn't find any answers

As in it's impossible to get the buttons to map to different things, or it is not really feasible (as in, it would take an enormous amount of work and programming skill)?
I was just wondering about this the other day. I have HTC Touch and I noticed that when I click on the mail button it brings me to my MMS inbox, however I would like it to bring me to my exchange inbox. Is this something which just isn't supported by HTC Touch, or is it something that no one (to your knowledge) has managed to code yet?

Hell, nothing is impossible. Look at what Slither has done with the cube! However, the HOME plugin is hardcoded to link to the things it does. There aren't any registry settings to mess with unfortunately.

When you click on the mail button, you should have a menu button on the bottom. Click on it and goto tools then options.
This screen allows you to navigate to the box you wish. There is also a box at the bottom that you can check which says : "display account picker when opening message" this lets you choose from all your accounts.
If you want it to only go to the exchange account, you have to make sure that asterick * is next to that account if not you need to change in the settings and then when you click on mail it will go to that box!

Just de-select the box for display account picker.
Then while on the same screen, touch the account you want to have come up when you press the email icon and that should do the trick!
I can't get it to pick up my email account automatically it just keeps constantly going into SMS instead of email when I hit the email button on the HTC Home. Very annoying! Any ideas?
What do i have to activated to get a message on my homescreen when a new sms or mail arrived. I cannot find it.

start->settings->Sounds and notifications
notifications tab at the bottom of the page
select new text message from the Event drop down menu and tick the notification appropriate box
NOTE: you may have to do this from time to time as my HD does sometimes forget these settings !!!

Hi, when i send/recieve on all my email accounts the emails that i receive do not appear at the top of the email list, they seem to randomly fit into the current list of emails. is there a way to display them by received date, ie new ones at the top ?? thanks in advance
I assume, from your description, that you're talking about the inbox. At the top right, there's a dropdown list where you can change the sort order.

twitter.. use seesmic or twitdroid or the like.
Sms barrage works for me. Auto suggest contacts like a regular sms message.

Type the first 2-3 letters of their name and it will show the drop down with their name. click their name and it will fill it in.
Or you can get Handcent SMS. It has an icon on the top left that you click and it gives you a checklist of your contacts to add to the message.

after i read your response in a similar thread, i realized my contacts weren't labeled as mobile. thanx for the help!

Dont know about that. Maybe samsung intended it that way for privacy reasons..or so i guess(although i dont get the point as rest of the apps can show full details there).
My tab3 does not show the sender/contents of the message. Just says <count> messages received..not quite useful.

I'm not sure if it is JUST for stock. Go into stock messages and apply that setting. Then text yourself in hangouts. You will find out lol

Thanks but I can't change Messaging settings without making it default again. I'm worried that will screw up Hangouts when I switch back.

I just texted myself and it did show my name. on the lockscreen notification. Not sure why it isnt on yours...
ah, you are using hangouts... no idea about that sorry.

The good news that I was able to switch to stock, make the change, and move back to Hangouts. The bad news is that the setting didn't carry over.
