Hi!
I have installed and configured the Franson GPS gate program on both Vista and WM side.
It connects, and it shows me that GPS data is coming in but it doesn't give me a fix on my position. When viewing the GPS tool program on WM side after a long while it manages to connect to one sattelite.
I have a Xperia which gives me a fix on my location almost instantly.
Does anyone know how to get the GPS to connect to the sattelites?
I was wondering if installing the quick GPS cab which is shipped with a lot of new devices.
Help appreciated

:x  I purchased a Leadtek wireless GPS receiver (model LR9537) and Navigator software for my IMate Pocket PPC 2003 Phone Edition device. I can bond to the GPS receiver but I cannot send or receive information - hence at the moment the software is unuseable.
I downloaded and installed the rom upgrade from the club imate website (which was supposed to fix the problem) but still no luck.
I contacted customer support in Nov 2004 and was told it would be looked in to, but to date have not got a reply from them with an answer. Frankly I am fed up with their customer service as they do not appear to be interested / able to help in solving problems of this type.
I went back to where I purchased the GPS equipment and they were unable to fix the problem. They even tried to talk with a nokia phone by bluetooth but it would not work either, so it narrows it down to being a problem with the bluetooth function.
Has anyone else had a similar problem, and if so have they been able to work a solution? I am eager to get this problem resolved and start using the (expensive) software which I purchased. Are there any patches or additonal downloads that I need to install or is it just purely a matter of configuring the device correctly?
Which navigation software are you using, what settings are you using for the gps? When you bonded the gps were you given the serial port option for the gps device?
I have the Destinator 3 software. I am not sure what setting I am suppose to use other than a baud rate of 4800 and NMEA protocol.
I also have the leadtek software that came with the GPS.
When I ask the Destinator 3 software to find the GPS it does a search and goes through the different baud rates and the different ports but comes up saying that it cannot find the GPS. The leadtek software also cannot find the GPS from its own receiver!
When I bonded to the GPS all I had to enter was a four digit pin - nothing else.
As a side issue I also find that I must not turn on the bluetooth before running an application otherwise it tells me that the port is in use. If I leave it turned off the blue light will start flashing once I start running the application.
Is there possibly a compatability problem?
My leadtek lr9537 arrived on my door step yesterday, and as yet i am unable to keep a steady BT conection to it from either my laptop or universal (in o2 clothes). The BT on the GPS seems to fall over as soon as it picks up a fix. I am also as yet unable to get a GPS signal to my pda either. I'm gonna have a good play with the settings buit it almost seems as if the BT on the device is dodgy.
i'll post back if i find more....
Hello,
I have installed Via Virtual Earth on my K-Jam and trying to use it with my GPS (GlobalSat 338) but the GPS function doesn't recognise the GPS.
Has anyone got it to work yet ?
Thank you

On their web site it says "Use the GPS control panel on the Pocket PC to specify which COM port the GPS device is connected to."
I think I will deffinbatly try this when I get mine next week.
Ya tried that...I have it on COM6 and still not working.
Let me know if you get anywhere.
Thanks
Still no solution for this problem?
I would appreciate any help offered,
I have searched the threads but have not found much applicable
My problem is that I cannot get My Universal to talk consistantly to the Rikaline 6033 GPS the BT link will not stay up.
I am using a T-Mobile Universal with the excelent
JASJAR_WWE_19096_19505_11300_AKU_3_2_ship Rom
The only way I have found of getting the GPS to talk to the Universal BT
is to install "Virtual Earth Mobile",
get it to pair with the Rikaline GPS
and then run TOMTOM 6
TT 6 will then recognise the GPS on COM0
Every time I switch it off and back on I loose the conection and have to go through the whole rigmarole to get it to go again.
I have tried opening the other comms with WM5GPSfix but it doesn't seem to help
If someone has managed it and can let me know I would be very grateful
TIA
A side issue,
What is the reason that the first connection with AS 4.2 takes so long?
Thanks
I installed WM6 (nbd.v9.0) on my HTC Wizard (it used to be a T-MOBILE MDA)
When I install IGO, it connects to 1 satelite max. And mostly it doesn't find any at all.
I use a GPS mouse from KEOMO which is connected to gate 7.
I have all settings as it used to work with WM5.
Has anyone got any experience or idea how this might be caused?
If you cant reply here, please reply to [email protected]
Thanks on forehand!

franson gps gate with the external btgps III (bluetooth gps receiver), and garmin mobile pc.
I`m using IGO8 PC on XP side with gpsgate (activesync). It`s working perfectly but gps fix takes longer than on other devices that I have.
How do you get the inbuilt GPS on the SnapView side to communicate with the Vista side?
