Another e-mail question!!!! - Palm Treo Pro

I seems to have a problem with my e-mails on my "work account" deleting themselves. Sometimes i recieve an e-mail notice and when i hit to open the email, nothing is there. I have been trying to stop my e-mails from getting deleted period, and can't seem to get that working. I wish that e-mails would just stay on my device like they did when i had my BB 8330. Don't get me wrong i love my TREO PRO but when it comes to email, the 8330 has the upper hand. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!

Not sure if I get this correct but you can set e-mails to stay on the server when you enter Advanced Settings.
E-mail > Menu > Tools > Options > Select Account > Edit Account Setup > Next > Next > Next > Next > Next > Next > Advanced Settings
Also check if the download messages is set correct.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tryin' but i still have the same problem.

You might try FlexMail to see if that improves your e-mail handling?
Haven't tried it on the Pro so can't tell for sure if it's working correct.
A bit pricey but there is a trial!

Disable "Ask to Join Wireless Network" feature

okay, I didn't search for a few hours but couldn't find any answer, so don't flame me .
does anyone know a way to disable "ask to join wireless network" feature. If I turn on my wireless, I don't want to be asked if I want to join a wireless network if I am in range. This is annoying when driving through a city with your GPS running, the msg keep popping up if I want to join a wireless network. of course, i can simply just turn off my wireless, but that's not the point of this thread. I can also select "dismiss..." whenever being asked but I don't want to do that all the time.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks...
In WM6.1 Professional, go to Start > Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi...
Then tap Menu > Advanced...
There should be a checkbox there at the top to set wifi notification on or off... Uncheck to turn it off...
HTH...

How to turn off data but keep MMS

Ok. Now for everybody who keeps getting crazy charges for their phone for data charges when all they really use is MMS, this short guide is your friend. This assumes you have a CDMA phone (idk about GSM right now) and Arcsoft MMS. This was tested on an Alltel ROM and seems to work great. I am not responsible for any additional charges that you may receive but I did work as hard as possible to create a carrier foolproof solution. If you do not care about MMS, skip steps 7-10.
Here goes:
1. Install a DCD Carrier cab. It doesn't matter which one. This will allow you to change your Connection settings if you have a carrier like Verizon or Alltel that prevents you from doing so.
2. Soft reset in so the cab will take effect.
3. Go to Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Connections -> Advanced -> Select Networks
4. Change the first drop-down box to 'My Work Network' or another blank connection.
5. Press OK twice and soft reset.
6. Go back to Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Connections -> Advanced -> Select Networks and verify that your connection settings have indeed changed.
7. Go to Start -> Programs -> Messaging -> SMS/MMS -> Menu -> MMS Options -> Servers
8. Edit the MMSC server you would like to send and receive MMSs on.
9. Go down to 'Connect via:' and select your carrier's connection settings.
10. You're done!!! Enjoy your MMS enabled, no data, less money on your bill phone!!!!
Thanks alot but the best solution is using this program

Stop push e-mail

I'm looking to use the data connection only when I particularly tell the phone to do something that requires internet access.
That's because my provider rounds up to 0.01GBP whenever the connection is used. It's unfortunate, and if you know a PAYG service in the UK that doesn't do this, let me know!
On my last phone I just turned off push e-mail. But I can't see how to do this on the Omnia II. I've looked in all the menus I can think of.

Have you gone to Tool>Options in Email, then selected your account? In the next page you select "Send/Receive Schedule" and change the "Automatic Send/Receive" setting to <Manually>
That may solve your problem.
could also try
Start > Activesync > menu > schedule > sync during change the times to ever x minutes insted of as items arrive

I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to totally delete these silly weather updates. I did remove it but now they have appeared and constantly suck my data
Another thing is, how do I delete my carriers APN?

- I'm not sure what weather app did you mean, however you can try to open the app's settings to disable the auto-update. Or you can open Settings > App manager > select and turn it off.
- To delete APN: Settings > More networks > Mobile networks > Access point names > tap to select the APN > Menu > Delete APN.
