o2 MMS Settings - Touch GSM General

Hi guys, just trying to configure 02's mms settings.
I've found settings from various site but no joy.
wondering if anyone here used o2 and had the settings they could post up.
cheers.

Hi Mondaynightmike,
I had lots of problems with this, had O2 send me settimgs, found them on Google, but nothing worked....until i installed a new ROM (Onyx Ultimate 4.0). It must have cleaned out alot of the rubbish on the system and allowed the auto-detect settings to work first time.
Which ROM are you running?

No MMS Mailbox on O2 XDA mini s

Recently bought a O2 XDA mini s off a mate, and realised there is no MMS mailbox, all other messaging apps seem to be fine.
Anyone know how i can resolve this?
try doing a hard reset, that will restore everything hopefully, or you can reload the ROM again

It sounds like the extended rom setup wasnt run as theres extra cab files there that add the mms folders. I have a copy of the O2 mini s german extended rom and the cab file you will want will be similar to CAB-Shortcut-O2UK-09Sep05.cab however it might be named differently for you depending on what rom you have installed. You should find the extended rom you need on the xda ftp site.
Also, some peoople have reported that installing the i-mate equivalent to this cab file on their k-jams hasnt worked so there could be other files needed to complete mms setup. If it works for you it could at least save a hard reset if you dont want to lose all your current sms's, settings etc.
Cheers,
Chris

MMS SETTINGS

Hi all,
Can't find the mms settings I need having done a corporate install.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks.
you need to run MP-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA5XX-VOICE-051228.CAB from the exteneded rom, you may need to use total commander to get to those files.

Thanks... but being a bit of a techno-thickie I have no idea what that means (sorry!)!
Any simple instructions on how to do what you just said would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks

You can get the extended rom off this site. In http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtendedRoms there is a link to the Cingular ROM ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Extended_ROMs/Cingular_8525_1.30.502.1_ExtROM_WWE.zip
. Download it, open, copy the MMS config to your device and click on it

I did search but couldn't find it. Trust me in my line of work I don't do wasting time!
Does the extended ROM do anything other than give me MMS settings? i.e do i need to backup before downloading/will I lose any settings by downloading?
I just downloaded it to my PC, is this the file I need to copy... 'MT_shortcut-mms-hermes'
I really do appreciate the help and patience!!!
Thanks
Matt
Because I hate all the crap in the extended ROM, I created the CAB file I've attached.
The only thing is the MMS never shows up in the first menu, you have to go under options to get to the MMS settings.
thanks, got that downloaded. I have installed the cab file but I still can't send or receive MMS.
Any ideas
Ah ****.. My fault.. That was for Cingular settings.. I think I posted that in the wrong thread.. Oops..
Sorry about that. You'll need the settings for your carrier. But, the MMS folder at least will show up for you now.
If that's the case that is why O2 give you the option of doing the "Basic" install.
You then get all the GPRS settings and the MMS app and it only takes 2 minutes to remove the remaining O2 stuff from Add/Remove programs and \Windows\Startup

MMS CAB for XDA Exec
May I suggest and ask for someone to post a copy of the MMS CAB that doesn't get installed with a corporate installation. My ROM version which I believe is the latest is:
ROM version: 1.30.107 WWE
ROM date: 04/11/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol version: 42.42.P8
ExtROM version: 1.20.162 WWE

I realise that, and at first I did do a basic install but then found that the corporate install did make things a bit less sluggish.
if anyone has got the MMS settings for the O2 XDA Mini s that they can post then I will be very grateful.
Matt
p.s. just a (crazy) thought, can O2 send me the settings?

Mmm... downloaded that with no problems and still can't send/receive mms messages! Am I missing something obvious here?
Matt
MMS settings
Could this problem be 2 stage. i.e. the CAB (above) is needed to install an MMS composer that integrates with Pocket Outlook and then the MMS settings which i think can be installed from the excellent O2_Exec_Connections_Only.CAB (I don't know if this compatible with the Mini S )or similar.
Does anyone know if the CAB above is the right one for the O2 XDA Exec (latest ROM)?
Anyone any further ideas? Still stuck in MMS limbo!
OK update...
delved into my mms configuration settings and they read like this;
Server name : O2UK
Gateway: 193.113.200.195
Port Number: 9201
Server Address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connect via: My work network
WAP Version: 1.2
Still can't send or receive. When I did the corporate install I followed the settings laid out by 'meansizzler on the AV Forums. All the other settings work fine just not the mms.
Puzzled.
Matt.

the cab file I posted is from the UK O2 mini s (rom version 2.21.4.1 WWE)
I have read that you may need the GPRS and wap setting configuring for the opperator for it to work. (dont have those settings handy at the moment tho)
Try installing the above cab on a clean restart, and to the device not storage card. Seems to have worked for me.

By 'clean restart' do you mean hard reset? If so is it best to install the cab file before using spb backup to reinstall everything else?
Matt.
I hate hard resets, especially now I have so much stuff on my device (including tomtom 5.21) and my mate told me the other day that he did a reset and spb backup failed him! i.e it didn't! backup that is!

T-Mobile UK GPRS/MMS Setting

Sorry Mods, I did a search for a already start string, but could not find one that meets the needs!!! Maybe there should be a part just for settings!!!
Ok well i got it working so.... If any people that are T-Mobile UK you can try my cab file!!!
It will setup your GPRS and MMS
ftp://xda:[email protected]
Unlike the last cab file i made, this one is tested and works great for me!
Feed back would be nice!!!
Thanks - worked a treat!!!
I've been searching everywhere for the correct settings since upgrading my Hermes ROM and your .cab was the only one that worked!
Will this cab file work for fresh mobile, which uses t-mobile???

Hmm, not sure, have installed them both but can't find any info about them in the connection settings. Do I need to install the arcsoft mms for it to work?

Sorry the FTP has ben tidyed up abit and the file is not there any more!!! But if you look you will find the files in there!!!
Not sure if the cabs were responsible, but after installing them for fresh I couldn't receive any calls, and after installing them I can receive calls. Don't seem to work for fresh mobile.
I just installed the faria rom and it seems great but now i cant connect to internet via GPRS not can I get MMS to work.. have clicked the .cab link in this post but that doesnt seem to work either. Can anyone advise where the cab file is..?
Also I dont appear to be able to connect to the FTP server.....??
T Mobile UK
Thanks
I ripped the settings from the T-mobile UK website and these work fine for me with this latest Faria ROM and the 02.25.11 Radio ROM.
This radio rom seems to give me better battery life, and I don't have the missed calls issue that the later radio roms can cause.
Hope these help.
Ah - you mention a radio rom.. does that mean that I need to use 2 rom files - not just the faria one..? I have looked at the ftp site and there appear to be rom files and extended rom files - whats the differece?

If you have followed all the downgrade/unlock/upgrade_to_current_provider_ROM/upgrade_to_Faria_ROM sequence you should have a radio ROM of at least 2.xx. This should work fine with Faria's ROM. If you need/want to change your Radio ROM have a look here for a selection.
My own feelings are that the 2.47 radio roms have excellent signal strength but at the expense of decreased battery life, also there have been reports of missed calls with this ROM.
Thanks for that! I also see that you are t mobile uk - does the auto config from farias rom work for you - can you send mms and log onto the web via gprs or have you had to load different settings?

The autoconfig within Farias excellent ROM did not work for me. I have had to re input the settings after every ROM change, so I can nearly remember the settings off by heart The settings in the text file, a couple of posts back) have worked on every ROM for me. (FlexT with Web&Walk)
Yes I have no problem with MMS, Web over GPRS and Windows Live Messenger.

These will work for you!!!

New cabs from explode

installed the new cabs from CABS2.rar and i still dont have MMS.
The other 2 work (windows update and the other.)
Should it be run in the extended rom or they can be executed one by one?
whats the problem?
thank you
there are a lot of answers to your problrms, do a quick search before post a new thread
also for MMS you have to install the mms client first and then install mms_enable.cab
hello explode.
i did it, but i dont have the mms on the mail app.
i nstalled arcsoftmms4.2.8.1.cab first and them mms_enable.cab
still got no mms
there is a solution for you and it is hard reset
maybe some software you have installed bugs the MMS app
I was wondering when you would say that.hehehe
its a hard live.
i'll put them on the ExtROM and hard reset.
thanks xplode for your work
By the way - there are NO difference in installing from ExtROM or one by one.
(MMS cabs , however require specifig install order - keep that in mind)
No, there is a BIG difference in this. You wouldn't need to reply to anyone's cry for non-working anything if it is fixed in ExtROM he cannot change.
So there's no technical difference...

MMS and SMS in different folders? ArcSoft MMS

Hi!

Now I lost the CAB file and I don't know what version had this feature.
Can you help me?

What device?
Where did you get the download from?
Also, it makes sense that two different mail types are stored in two different folders. Why does this cause an issue?
The problem is the version I installed now don't have this feature.
I receive all in the same folder (SMS/MMS).
And I wanted to received them in each folder.
I have a HTC Wizard and I'm using Alex ArcSoft MMS 5.0.31.7 Build
You need 4.2... in order to have separate folders.
Here
Thank you for the reply!
I'm going to test it
does arcsoft mms work on sprint phones (mogul)? cause i was under the impression it no longer worked for sprint users... just wanna make sure i didn't miss something here, thanks...
I also have a Wizard, and had the SNN diamond ROM but a few hours ago flashed the OS 19588 ROM, which is much much faster. I found a cab file of Arcsoft 4.2.8.1 but when i install it the SMS and MMS folder are still combined. There is no way (like before) where I can go to Tools>Options and then change the MMS settings either (or view the 'About' page for Arcsoft).
What can I do? I would like to keep this ROM as it is so much faster, but need the Arcsoft 4.2 working!

Did you try soft reseting? There is also possibility that the rom has Inbox extender cooked in and it's conflicting with older versions of arcsoftmms. In your message menu do you have options "Mark all as read" and "delete all"?
This is the link to the ROM I am using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395173
It is the fastest so far, and I just hope I can sort the Arcsoft business out!
It does not appear with the current SMS/MMS configuration that there is the option to 'Mark all as read' or 'Delete all'.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks very much
Can nobody help? This is so important to me.

A friend of mine was asking me if I could enable MMS on his Sprint Mogul, and I was hoping to just find an Arcsoft sofware that you can just install and done!! Sorry for a nooby question on this, but I don't know anything about Sprint or non-GSM phones, not sure how that works.
Anyone knows how to do that or kindly direct me to the answer, have been searching but I don't find anything about Sprint in USA.
Thx.
