Hello,,
I was searching for a way of how to send MIDI files (.MID) using MMS.
I have EzWap 2.5 on my XDA I, buty it doesn't support MIDI files
Anyone have an idea or a better software??
Ehm ehm..... anybody's here???
yooohoooooo... :?: :!: :?: :!: :?: :!:
Try MMS Composer v1.6 from ArchSoft
I visited the site of MMS Composer,, but there's no place to download a trial or at least purchase the product!!!! :?
Have u done a simple search ??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=7466
I've already visited that topic before, and I've downloaded the file, it didn't work! It said something like FILES OR COMPONENTS MISSING!!!!
Plz help!
I have installed this file after a hard reset and nothing was missed ... what ROM do you use ?
I have ROM 4.00.05 ENG,, I know its old ROM, but am planning to upgrade soon, just to make this ROM for testing before upgrade to a clean installation!
So you think I should upgrade to the latest ROM version?
Thanks BISO
Well, I can't give a solid answer on this, but I think there is always a difference in DLLs between ROM versions, and maybe MMS Composer 1.6 was compiled to use a recent ROM. Flashing your ROM with 4.01.00 is a step ahead in all cases.
And since you will be going into this process, it would be a good chance to help Stephan Lumpi to update his kitchen with this s/w. There is a soft ware there by which you can take a system snapshot before/after installing MMS Composer on a vanella ROM and compare. This will help in adding this MMS tool to the optional s/w list.
This would be a great help since we can make it part of a new cooked ROM.
Ah I got your point Biso, am willing to upgrade my ROM, but i feel too lazy to upgrade & reinstall all the software I have here!
But I will do it on this week end.
I won't use EZWap no more! MMS Composer is much more better!
Thanks alot Biso, you are great
As the topic says
Finally they fixed the bug with the + infront of the phone number.
Older versions didnt include a + infront of a phone number so it stopped sending.
Example if you have a number stored like: +316xxxxx the older versions gave: 316xxxxx and forgot about the + infront.
This has now been fixed!
does it fix slowness in the inbox? thnaks for the effort anyways
Hello,
Sorry for asking this question, but I am new to upgrading the MMS Composer in the ROM, but can I just download this composer file and install it on ever ROM of the XDA II? I use the 1.60.00WWE Qtek 2020 Rom and would like to upgrade the MMS Composer, is this possible to do???? And after a hardreset, the old MMS Composer comes back or would it be replaced through the new (this) one????
Can anybody help me with this? Hope someone could! Would like to upgrade, but NO problems with ROM etc.

Hi,
Yes you can install this on every rom without problems.
It will overwrite your old version.
But you can NOT uninstall it...
This file is normally a file included in an extended rom.
So if you unhide and unlock the extended rom you can add this file, remove your old mms file (in the extended rom) and modify the config.txt
That way after a hard reset you still have the new version!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=40412#40412
cheers matey
So, if I get this right:
I can install the new MMS Composer and the old one will be overwritten! BUT, when hardresetting the old MMS Composer will be back??
UNLESS I change the Extended Rom and hardreset, the new one will be installed!!??
Is that true?? So it overwrites the old one, but it after a hardreset the old version is back???

Download (do a search if need be) the Extended ROM unlock tool from this website (i.e. the one you are looking at now).
Install it to XDA.
Then, soft reset your xda.
Then go into Programs, and there will be a new folder for the Extended ROM tools, near the Games one, containing a hide utility, an unhide, a lock, and an unlock tool.
They are self explanatory, but one of them also requires a soft reset to see the difference.
After that, you can see all the files in the extended ROM, and copy delete, paste etc etc.
Delete the old MMS cab.
Copy in the new.
Copy the config file in the extended rom folder to your PC and open with notepad.
Look for the line that relates to the OLD mms application, and change the name correctly so that it relates to the NEW version number (it will make more sense when you see it).
Then copy this file back over to the XDA2 in the same location, to overwrite the old one.
Lock then hide your extended ROM (if you are finished with it for now), and voila.
Provided you got the name correct for the new version, in the config file, and copied the new version cab over, any hard reset will now run and install this NEW one!

May I ask which version of the T-Mobile ROM did it came from? Because the T-Mobile 1.72.104 ExtROM has MMS16012_WWE.sa.cab instead.
Well, found out that freelockuk provided us with MMS Composer 1.6.0.8 which is an older version. Thanks anyway, mate.
ok, but how ?

Hmmm, it does work for me perfectly!
any other idea ?
apparently i not the only one.
I did the Anansky ROM a couple of days ago, prior to i-Mate releasing the new ROM image. Because I didn't want to do the whole song and dance routine again, I just grabbed the 1.11 Radio ROM from the FTP and put it on top of my old install... so now I've got the 1.11 WWE that came with Anansky's plus the new 1.11 Radio (Anansky's comes with 1.10).
The only problem is, there's supposed to be an updated MMS client thing, which I don't have. Since Anansky's ROM has no ExtROM, you have to download the CAB files manually for whatever program you want, and the FTP only has the old MMS. So, long story short, can someone make a cab file of their MMS client on their newly update Magicians?
According to Nutdhanai in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=21208, the MMS application haven't been updated. Just use the one found at the local FTP server here /Uploads/Magician/Extended_ROM%20Version_WWE_111129.sa and you should be fine.
I really can't wait till the day people start a using a leading 'Q:' or a trailing '?' in their thread, if they are asking a question. Without it, it sounds as though they are offering info instead of asking for help, and that usually attracts the wrong audience...
gotta agree with you there as some of the subject titles are getting quite misleading. Thanks for bring it up, and I hope the moderators would help clamp down on this!!

I
I'm using Anansky's 1.11 as well but the extended ROM that i downloaded had version 2.0.0.22 instead.
The cab file is:
CAB-ArcsoftMMS-20022-Magician-Generic-ENU-08Mar05.cab
cheers,
Patrick
Thanks. Just cleaned the mail folders with CleanMail, that eliminated the "sms init failure" problem, but also eliminated my mms composer in messages.
Installed the cab, and it's all ok
The thing is, when I look at the changelog from Club i-Mate, it says that they've added some changes to the MMS client, that's why I ask.
Is this Arcsoft one an aftermarket one?
They are all using the same MMS. If they claim otherwise, they are lying. Just as i-mate are when they say they have fixed the camera and the BT issue, because nothing has been done!
I have just done a binary compare between the MMS cabs from the latest Norwegian 1.11, the Finnish 1.11 and the Jam 1.11 and surprise, surprise: no differences found!
As long as you run the .22 build, you'll have the latest version...
Newer cab
The one posted by johannesl could be an older version. This is a 2.22MB cab file.
The file attached by toenailed is probably the newer one since i now have the 1.11 ROM and this has the arcsoftmms cab file which is a 3.09MB cab file.

Heya,
I have never been able to get the mms to work, the mms composer program just doesnt seem to be on my phone. i just tried downloading the cab but i am getting the same error on the phone..
anyone know how to get around this?
Hi all,
Can't find the mms settings I need having done a corporate install.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks.
you need to run MP-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA5XX-VOICE-051228.CAB from the exteneded rom, you may need to use total commander to get to those files.

You can get the extended rom off this site. In http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtendedRoms there is a link to the Cingular ROM ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Extended_ROMs/Cingular_8525_1.30.502.1_ExtROM_WWE.zip

I did search but couldn't find it. Trust me in my line of work I don't do wasting time!
Does the extended ROM do anything other than give me MMS settings? i.e do i need to backup before downloading/will I lose any settings by downloading?
I just downloaded it to my PC, is this the file I need to copy... 'MT_shortcut-mms-hermes'
I really do appreciate the help and patience!!!
Thanks
Matt
Because I hate all the crap in the extended ROM, I created the CAB file I've attached.
The only thing is the MMS never shows up in the first menu, you have to go under options to get to the MMS settings.
thanks, got that downloaded. I have installed the cab file but I still can't send or receive MMS.
Any ideas
Ah ****.. My fault.. That was for Cingular settings.. I think I posted that in the wrong thread.. Oops..
Sorry about that. You'll need the settings for your carrier. But, the MMS folder at least will show up for you now.
If that's the case that is why O2 give you the option of doing the "Basic" install.
You then get all the GPRS settings and the MMS app and it only takes 2 minutes to remove the remaining O2 stuff from Add/Remove programs and \Windows\Startup

MMS CAB for XDA Exec
May I suggest and ask for someone to post a copy of the MMS CAB that doesn't get installed with a corporate installation. My ROM version which I believe is the latest is:
ROM version: 1.30.107 WWE
ROM date: 04/11/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol version: 42.42.P8
ExtROM version: 1.20.162 WWE

I realise that, and at first I did do a basic install but then found that the corporate install did make things a bit less sluggish.
if anyone has got the MMS settings for the O2 XDA Mini s that they can post then I will be very grateful.

p.s. just a (crazy) thought, can O2 send me the settings?

MMS settings
Could this problem be 2 stage. i.e. the CAB (above) is needed to install an MMS composer that integrates with Pocket Outlook and then the MMS settings which i think can be installed from the excellent O2_Exec_Connections_Only.CAB (I don't know if this compatible with the Mini S )or similar.
Does anyone know if the CAB above is the right one for the O2 XDA Exec (latest ROM)?
Anyone any further ideas? Still stuck in MMS limbo!
OK update...
delved into my mms configuration settings and they read like this;
Server name : O2UK
Gateway: 193.113.200.195
Port Number: 9201
Server Address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connect via: My work network
WAP Version: 1.2
Still can't send or receive. When I did the corporate install I followed the settings laid out by 'meansizzler on the AV Forums. All the other settings work fine just not the mms.
Puzzled.
Matt.

the cab file I posted is from the UK O2 mini s (rom version 2.21.4.1 WWE)
I have read that you may need the GPRS and wap setting configuring for the opperator for it to work. (dont have those settings handy at the moment tho)
Try installing the above cab on a clean restart, and to the device not storage card. Seems to have worked for me.

By 'clean restart' do you mean hard reset? If so is it best to install the cab file before using spb backup to reinstall everything else?
Matt.
I hate hard resets, especially now I have so much stuff on my device (including tomtom 5.21) and my mate told me the other day that he did a reset and spb backup failed him! i.e it didn't! backup that is!

What device?
Where did you get the download from?
Also, it makes sense that two different mail types are stored in two different folders. Why does this cause an issue?
The problem is the version I installed now don't have this feature.
I receive all in the same folder (SMS/MMS).
And I wanted to received them in each folder.
I have a HTC Wizard and I'm using Alex ArcSoft MMS 5.0.31.7 Build
You need 4.2... in order to have separate folders.

Thank you for the reply!
I'm going to test it
does arcsoft mms work on sprint phones (mogul)? cause i was under the impression it no longer worked for sprint users... just wanna make sure i didn't miss something here, thanks...
I also have a Wizard, and had the SNN diamond ROM but a few hours ago flashed the OS 19588 ROM, which is much much faster. I found a cab file of Arcsoft 4.2.8.1 but when i install it the SMS and MMS folder are still combined. There is no way (like before) where I can go to Tools>Options and then change the MMS settings either (or view the 'About' page for Arcsoft).
What can I do? I would like to keep this ROM as it is so much faster, but need the Arcsoft 4.2 working!

Did you try soft reseting? There is also possibility that the rom has Inbox extender cooked in and it's conflicting with older versions of arcsoftmms. In your message menu do you have options "Mark all as read" and "delete all"?
This is the link to the ROM I am using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395173
It is the fastest so far, and I just hope I can sort the Arcsoft business out!
It does not appear with the current SMS/MMS configuration that there is the option to 'Mark all as read' or 'Delete all'.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks very much
Can nobody help? This is so important to me.

A friend of mine was asking me if I could enable MMS on his Sprint Mogul, and I was hoping to just find an Arcsoft sofware that you can just install and done!! Sorry for a nooby question on this, but I don't know anything about Sprint or non-GSM phones, not sure how that works.
Anyone knows how to do that or kindly direct me to the answer, have been searching but I don't find anything about Sprint in USA.
Thx.
