i have installed office 2007 with outlook.
i can browse my files.. do some things.. but no synchronisation with outlook..
whats going wrong.. please help!
Are syncing from a personal email or Exchange Server? Please give details.
If you are using Exchange server then you have to install a certificate and run the cert on your phone.
Elements? Are you taking about subfolders? RSS feeds? etc?
If you are asking about sub folders you have to select your account and in the menu choose folders and then select the folders that you want to sync.
Give us more detail and it would be easier to narrow down.

Im using everything from the disk... Just wont sync? Any ideaas!
did u install outlook?
Yeah I have activesync and the oulook express from the disk installed.
It just comes up
activesync encountered a problem on the desktop
or if im running outlook express i get ...
cannot synchrinize with the outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or the profile is password protected.
please open outlook using the appropiate profile.
Can anyone help? Im really wanted to put the update onto my phone but dont want to loose all of the contacts.
You cannot use Outlook Express with ActiveSync. That CD would have included Outlook, not Outlook Express. If you did install Outlook it sounds like you haven't run it, where as it should have prompted you regarding importing your OE account, etc. You can use a proggy called SyncData if you insist on using OE though I have no experience with it.
Good luck!

I think I havent set outlook up right? I went into the properties and added my hotmail account with password etc but my outlook inbox is empty? Should it not be copying my hotmail inbox?

You need to forget about the phone right now and get Outlook to work all by itself. I'd delete the profile and create a new one. Once that works I'd open AS without the phone connected, delete the partnership. Then connect the device and create a new partnership.
Here's a TID from Microsoft regarding setting up OL 2002 with Hotmail support. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=287424

Hi,
something I'm a little confused about, I've done a sync with Outlook & it has created all the folders on my MDA Vario II. I've created an email account to get my mail that outlook gets for when I'm away from the machine. This has setup a new folder with the name of the account.
What happens when I download emails, does it copy them from my domain server & put them in the Pop3 account folder on the PDA? Then I guess at home l download & sync them to the outlook folders on my home PC back to the PDA or something else?
Is it possible to setup my email account for the Outlook folder or is that structure just for sync purposes? I guess the rules woldnt work (I have 30 folders or so). Any help greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Ronski
I´m also searching for help
I´ve got the same problem: I want to synchronize my pop3-Folders on MDA with my Outlook at Desktop. But I don´t know how?
Using IMAP
Now I´m using IMAP, so the emails will stay on the server and I can get them at Home with outlook POP3.
I have been using Exchange Activesync on my 8525 since I first received it. Until now, I have been fine with just checking emails in my inbox. But due to some new responsibilities at work I am receiving entirely too many emails to keep in the inbox.
I have set up filters in Outlook so that they will go to their specified folder. The devices shows the folders listed in messaging, however no emails go into them (nor do they come to the inbox).
I am using Exchange Server 2003 SP2. Is there anything I can do for this?
Thanks
I know what you mean, I have the same issue... You do know you can search the Exchange Server from your phone though, right? The results that are returned, I believe, include all folders inside your mailbox. Helps if your looking for a specific email, etc...
Cheers.
Hello,
In Pocket Outlook choose Menu->Tools->Manage Folders
And choose folders you want to synchronize.
Just as simple as that

Mail2web calendar and desktop oulook calendar
After signing up with mail2web live version my active sync has two accounts. The outlook account I familiar with and the exchange server account via mail2web.com.
Is it possilbe to sync my desktop calendar under activesync with the exchange server calendar? Any pointing to help, threads or pdf manuals would be greatly appreciated.
Ciao
Darrell
If you activated both calendars to sync-they'll be combinded.
activate calendars?
That refreshing, I haven't come across those key words. How do I activate both calendars? Not finding anything, easily, in help or microsoft forums
Hi,
The HD2 is my first HTC-phone, i like it so far, but i'm searching for a way to sync more folders than just my inbox using Exchange/Outlook-mail.
On my old phone (WM 6.1) i could go to folder-options (or something like that, i'm using the dutch version) and was able to select and deselect more folders.
I cannot find it on this phone, is this a WM 6.5 or a HTC-sense issue ?
(or maybe my own )
Regards,
Martin.
Just got mine on O2 - cant find the option either!
Did you have any joy??
go into your outlook inbox..select tools, then manage folders, then you can check all the folders you want sync'd
I've selected the folders I wanted to Sync on both my GMAIL and Google Apps account but it only downloads messages from Inbox. How do you get it to sync your sent mail and other folders?
Has anyone got extra folders syncd?
I am syncing a lot of folders in Outlook with our Exchange Server. As twisted-pixel wrote then you need to open Outlook E-mail and select Menu, then select Functions and then Manage Folders. The options Functions cannot be seen on the screen and you need to scrool down to it (It took me some time to find it )
In the Manage Folders screen you are able to select the folders you want to synchronize.
Is there a way to synch ONLY the 'sent items' folder via ActiveSync or do you have to also keep copies of the various messages from Outlook also on your phone?
Bump. Anyone?
connect phone to pc, on pc open windows mobile device center, click mobile device settings - change content sync settings - email sync settings - untick the folders you dont want and tick those you do (sent items in this case)
Sorry, I think I didn't express that well. I want to synchronize only the sent items from my phone to Outlook on the desktop so that I can preserve any replies I send from the road while having the original message downloaded to my desktop when I return home. The settings you describe will only synch MS Outlook items with the 'Outlook' folder on my PC, and the accounts I set up on my phone do not appear in the folder tree to be selected. So that configuration won't work for me.
It seems that no combination of what I want is possible with the current software, yet I can't believe I'm the only one with this need.
Let me explain.
I use Outlook on my desktop and only use the phone for reading and replying to messages on-the-fly. Knowing that I will have a copy of the POP message on my laptop (which serves as my home pc also) when I get back at night, I only want to file and keep a copy of any replies I make from the road. My hope was to have any sent items uploaded to my laptop, I can run rules on MS Outlook to autofile to their respective folder structures, and I'm done - both received POP messages and their corresponding replies are preserved.
I own a copy of FlexMail, but it won't synch with Outlook, so that's not a solution. And there doesn't seem to be anything else out there that'll do what I need.
Any thoughts?
Bump. Anyone?
Guys, just to reiterate the question...
How would you get (move/copy/backup) messages from the local email accounts you set up on your HD2, to your Outlook PST on the desktop?
