I m using 1.59.x.x but TCPMP is not working smoothly...the video is really bad
Just buy Coreplayer. It'll render your movies even w/o re-encoding.

I'm currently using YouTubePlay, but it slows down for certain movies I play. Is there something else that people use?

Sent from my HTC Legend using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
yes YXFlash works but it;s pay app and options are limited.
Don't understand there isn;t any good FREE player. Android is Linux based so it should be easy...
CorePlayer is working in andoid version but no release date on their tweeater...
i find that 98% of the videos I try to play...video files, video podcasts, and most youtube videos are out of sync.

i came from the n900 multimedia powerhouse tablet and this is like a full downgrade lol
in this category anyway
Hmmm this is a bit of a blow.... I was just looking at getting a Legend or maybe Desire but With no decent movie player it could be a non starter
Out of interest I notice that the Legend is similar specs to the HD - how does it compare? anyone had both.... I find the HD sluggish with later WinMo ROMs and Android to be honest.
Rockplayer Plays it all.....
Its in public beta for now.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
yeah i was going to say what about rock player, its in public beta but it plays it all. might as well grab it while its free even if it is a tad bit buggy since its a beta. plus i'm pretty sure it plays everything, even divx
didn't rock player use armv7 ? when the legend support only armv6 :\

Rockplayer is working great on my legend so I would say no...
the new rockplayer public beta has support for armv6 / legend
Im glad there is a nice player finally no need to convert that much anymore saves a lot of time
I hope they update it and stays free
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
What will happen with Rockplayer if the public beta time is over..Anyone know something about this?
1. Will be blocked (unusable), except you pay for it (pay app)?
2. Continue as freeware and with tons of new updates?
I am in desperade of having a good FREE video player. ^o^

more information would be just great
like what roms have you tried
and did you even bother to read or search in those rom threads
to see if maybe just maybe there might be a fix for it

Installing different players is great, but have you tried MX Player WITH the Arm v7 Codec (on the market as well)? Most vids play flawlessly for me with that setup. Also do what Kameirus said and check the ROM thread for fixes, and it would also help to tell us which ROM and what version of that ROM you're on.

Maybe you're trying to play a 1080p video?
What are the specifications of your video? maybe it IS the problem, not the phone?

Someone on here could of made a custom script or codec not available on marketplace - That's why I asked
I'm fed up of people on here replying to posts for which they don't have a solution
If you don't have the answer don't reply simple - and Google it search for it or any other smart answer is not a solution
This place is meant to help people with questions be it simple or more advanced and doesn't need people making stupid smart posts
My intentions were never pick on you ! Sorry if you felt that way .
well i don't know of any such script or mod but that doesn't mean its not there as i am relatively new noob here - maybe somebody else could point you to such resources
As far as i am concerned I've mx player plus mx armv6 codecs installed if that doesn't do the job - i covert the files using my friends pc

Like I said I cannot convert mx player plays awful with x264 and kacend plays it but a little choppy so I'm hoping for a custom mod someone has written
sgy support hw accelerated h264, but supported video resolution is very2 limited. default youtube resolution (320p or 480p maybe) still playable. beyond that, you need to convert.
have you tried using mx video player? search it on playstore..

Please read before posting - Iv tried all players from play store and as iv said kacend works best but is not perfect
I was looking for a custom mod script or codec to allow playback without slow motion picture
Well i'm sure it's possible, when i play a laggy video(on mx player), i try to pres play pause (on and on)-ยป means if developer kindly force to refresh per video frame i think is possible.
On second tought better encoding on higher PC is take the utmost factor. I don`t know if you like anime or not. Please try this site `www.anime-60mb.net` and download 480p video(the latest/ new release ep) run smooth with no lag!!
then try the download from darklegend 60mb you will experience some lag. Again It's just example

Anyone in need of MX Player for the said version? Download the test version from here https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/translation/test-build
Thanks for this. It has sucked playing movies on my phone without MX Player. I downloaded the regular MX Player, not the pro version. Is that correct?
