Hey guys,
I hate the tiny Windows Mobile standard screen for "incoming call", so I looked for a program who shows me incoming calls with a bigger screen.
I found "icaller", but the program didn't work on my Xperia, the caller information and the picture were not at the middle of the screen.
So i fixed the problem and modified the program a bit.
Fixed the position problem
Made the font bigger
Put caller information on the top
Xperia style screen when contacts without pictures call you
SU2U (ipod style) background for calling information
The features of the program are the same like in the non-edit version.
Click here to go to the orignal thread of the program and here to go to the developer's side.
I just edit the style, so i can't help you if you have problems with iCaller. If you have, please ask the developer.
It looks like this when sombody calls you (plus the taskbar):
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I uploaded a german (just working on german Windows Mobile!) and an english version. I didn't test the english version on my Xperia, so if the english version doesn't work, tell me and I will try to fix the problem. Don't forget to take a look at the readme and the settings!
As far as I know there are problems if you use iCaller and CallerID at the same time, so please turn off CallerID when you use this program.
I hope you like it!!
Enjoy!
Could you provide a screen shot?
It look's like on the picture I posted.
Does it work so far on english Xperia?

very nice one thumbs up
If you want I can post two alternative backgrounds tomorrow.

I didn't know that , but i don't like the Touch HD Dialer anyway.
Is the incoming call screen included in the normal Touch HD Dialer cab?

This program is compatible with TF3D (cab version), I tested it! No matter which style you use. I don't know if it's compatible with the rom version, because I don't use it.
@ user with english Xperia phones: does the program work phone?
Locked phone
Hi,
I've noticed that Icaller doesn't work when Xperia is locked.
Have anyone had simillar issue and know the solution ?
i had the same problem. it wouldnt let me answer the phone calls, just lets me reject them.
The solution is to uninstall it.
Thats it...
It works for me in an unbranded, Dutch Xperia (after some tweaking to make it understand Dutch )
Only, for some reason the screen does not look like the screendump you posted. Instead, the Caller ID picture (or the background if there isn't one), goes all the way to the top of the screen, and the Caller ID text runs through it. I managed to help that by changing the html file a bit.
Now I'm trying to get the Caller ID picture to be either screen-wide or non-repetetive, but so far, no luck. I created a picture that has exactly the same size as the provided "NoCallerPicture.png", but that doesn't make a difference.
It seems there is in fact a difference between using that, or using a picture coming from the phone :-( Any ideas on how I can make it just the on picture showing?
Hey there, thanks for the work.. but the link doesn't point to the iCaller app, but rather to a file called attachement.php.. I tried with different browsers, same results. would u please post a different location for the file.. thanks

Be care that the caller picture stored by outlook in the agenda is reduce in size so you need to create a folder named "caller picture" with pictures inside named by phone number. In this way, Icaller will open first the good resolution picture intead of the reduce one from outlook.

Thanks to maltloaf I am now using Ringo for personal Ring/SMS Tones for each of my contacts.
I now want to get rid of the memory monster Photocontacts since I don't require its Ringtone Part anymore and I think there must a lighter weight app that can display a fullscreen picture of the caller out there - I just haven't found it yet...
It would be great if you could post some names/urls for me to check out, since I failed to find something useful via google.
Best regards!
Yes I would be also interested
I'm using Photocontacts Pro too but if something lighter exists it coul be great.

I already use Agenda Fusion as Contact/Calendar management. It also seems a bit bulky - which is what I don't want. Thats the reason I want to get rid of Photo Contacts Pro.
I will give it a try though to see how much bigger/smaller it is. But I think it's wasted space since all I actually need is the Caller ID feature and no editing/managing of contacts
I can't believe that there is no simple Caller ID Picture Software out there for our PDAs - there's gotta be one - or maybe someone that has the ability is able to create one. All it needs to show is the picture ( and maybe name/number ) of the person calling.
Here is how I WISH the Caller ID Thingy should/would look ( taken from Inesoft Website )

Isn't it possible that the guy(s) that make all the Skins for the "Eten Dialer" (the one with the Orange, Blue and Grey skins and large keys somewhere in this forum is a recent topic about it) makes the contact photo part just 2 times it's original size?
I think the best thing you can do is contact one of those skinmakers in that thread and ask if he could make it bigger....
Then you will not only have a bigger ontact picture, but also a better (and bigger) dialer screen
Edit: This thread I was talking about http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=35326
Guys, the caller id photo is editable with a resource hacker. Read Buzz's board on how to do this (the Eten skin was posted there a long time back). The whole skin can be modified in this manner.

is the file within the rom mocs? i don't really wanna install a new rom and wipe everything out just to see a bigger picture. is there just a file or prog i can d/l to fix it?
In my Imate Jam, they included a software 'Caller ID' in the ext rom. It's pretty light, and similar to the default contact list. You can set Pics and Ringtones for each person. But I havent tried this on my Mini S. Not sure if it works just as good! u can find this cab file in the FPT site.
Alright let me interject. I think the Magician (imate jam) is windows mobile 2003 and the app you are talking about is most likely photo contacts. That app definitely will not work on WM5.
Sorry for the bad news; Lew

i remember someone ask about how to modified ZoomSMS to working alone without scenerios and callfilter and its own missed call history(This apps use missed call history of itself and may intefere with phonealarm).
Concept is :
1.Put phoneservice.exe in Windows\ and put shortcut to startup folder and reset to let it resident in memory.
2.Remove taskbar icon by change this key.
HKLM\ControlPanel\Eten\ScenariosOption\Showicon
Change dword value from 1 to 0
Anyway,u may left it show but when u tap on it,it'll show error about missing something.
3.after 1 and 2 ,SMS-alert part on ZoomSMS is going to work fine but the Missed call alert, when u click on blue Missed call item it'll show error about finding quicklinksetting.exe (This is app. to run its own missed call history).
So u just grab tCallHistory.exe (wrote by someone here,i think) rename it to quicklinksetting.exe and put it in Windows\.Now see it work
use the NEXT VERSION!
screen shots mate?pls
A little trick to install very very quickly....
The little icon in the taskbar remain...however you can tap on it but do nothing!
No bad...
Just download, install and soft-reset!
P.s.
I have also replaced "quicklinksetting.exe" with another (better) one....
This little App simply display (using a beauty icon) on Today the missed calls and the unread SMS.....it alsto open the received sms in a proper magnified windows...

Using scenarios u can configura 5 profiles!

Dialer Button? Can you elaborate on which button?
So far as I can tell, everything works fine on my Wing.
And SmartDial still works!!
This is basically the dialpad another member pulled from the Touch. I just reworked all of the graphics...
On a side note, if anyone wants a different background and can attach a 320x240 and 240x320 version of it, I'll

I tried this style of dialpad before. I love the preview/SmartDial window, but I can't use it because of this. Besides, this design makes much better use of the keypad space, I think. It's much easier to dial and operate one-handed.
Just to clarify, this dialpad is based on the HTC Touch dialpad which is the same layout I presented, just with different graphics.
=
Which leads me back to tom_codon's comment... Are you referring to the the green 'talk' button? If so why do you need this? My device has a hardware key to start and end a call... therefore making the onscreen button wasted space. Are there some devices that don't have hard keys for this?
If your device has a hardware button for this function, why do you need an onscreen soft button?
Ryan
For some reason, on my herald p4350, it doesn't look right. When I installed, the background and graphics were either missing or distorted. Before I installed it, I had the (or a) generic dialpad (black buttons/white background with HTC emblem).

Hmmm... Hopefully this doesn't work on Wings only. What OS do you have?
Did the keypad layout look the same as the default I displayed?
Did you copy all of the images in the zip to your Windows directory (overwriting what was already there)?
What images are missing?
Which are distorted?
Were you able to revert back to your default?
I've re-uploaded the image zip file with a couple changes. If you don't mind, please try it again and let me know!
Before anyone tries this, make sure you have a backup dialpad you can fall back on just in case.

I have exactly the same problem when trying to use any dialpad! Did you find a solution for this?
I have the same problem, I have HTC p4350, its all messed up, The "frames" of the dialerbuttons are visible, but I see only w/e is running in the background (If I have IE running, I see the contents of the browser instead of the dialer buttons) I can press the buttons, and when I do the numbers I press shows up....but cant have it that way...I removed the dialer without any problem using uninstall function..
wish anyone could get it to work
I haven't found a solution to this. It might be because our default dialpad is black and white. For some reason, my other device (ipaq 6828 - wm5) has the green dialpad as default. I have no problems installing and using other dialpad on that. I think as long I have this black and white dialpad as default on my htc, I will continue to have this problem of installing other dialpads. This might apply to many of us here as well.

Can you post a screenshot of your default dialpad, and the result with mine? You'll need a screen capture program like MagicSS to do it. Click on the 'Ficher CAB ARM' link to download a cab to your device, or use the Windows installer link just above it. Then map it to a button, go to the dialpad, and press the button. It will ask you where to save the bmp, then you can upload it here so I can try and figure out what's going on.
Also, if you just install the Touch dialpad without copying my images, does it work ok?
Ryan

Sorry to venture a little off topic guys, but does anybody know of a tutorial for creating my own dialpad?
has anybody found a solution to this?
Seems as if alot of people are experiencing this problem. One thing I have noticed with alot of the new dialpad skins is that the file format is different compared to the stock WM skins. The old skins are in .bmp format I believe, and the new ones seem to be in .png . Taking a wile guess but maybe this has something to do with it.....
wm5 vs wm6
Hey guys, sorry I haven't gotten back to you; for some reason I didn't get any email notifications until today...?
Anyhow, I can say for sure that the problems you guys are experiencing are due to the transparency used in my dialpad.
As for why it's a problem for some and not others... Perhaps it's device specific, or more likely as MisterSosa said it's WM5 vs. WM6.
itje and robosiris, are you on WM5 or WM6?
BTW, I have another thread with newer versions here.

Use S2U2
doesn't work ... already posted in the thread...
I would also really like to be able to change the incoming call notification. A big nice answer / reject screen that covers the whole of the screen would have been really nice.
When you think about it - it's quite a basic skinning request.
Then again - [email protected]#$soft is real rubbish and they can miss the most obvious things in everything they do.

that is a good concept, can any developer design that caller notification for qvga devices????
Is there a solution that doesn't require me to change anything else, only the incoming call screen?
S2U2 is nice, but I don't want the app to be my main page, I don't need the lock feature, want to keep my device as it is, only have a nicer and bigger incoming call screen.
InesoftAddressBook: same problem. I don't want to change my contacts manager...
You can disable the Lock part of S2U2, and leave it as just a CID program...
i made this one for the inesoft caller id.
If anyone can work out how to disable the default CID screen, I can make a replacement. (In fact, I have a replacement, it just gets interupted...)

+1 With inesoft AdressBook, you'll change your incoming call interface.
Try it and you'll keep it.
Inesoft Address Book skins the dialer with an easy to use finger-friendly incoming call screen.
My current idea is a small piece of software that's memory resident, and pops up when it gets notified of an incoming call.
Using the .NET CF, that part's not hard, and the pick up/reject is easy to do via virtual keystrokes, but so far, I haven't found a way to stop WM showing it's own CID screen...
The main reason I have for this is for FSD (my dialer), but if it can be done, I'll release a stand alone CID program.

S2U2 will not be your main page. If you choose not to lock your device in S2U2 settings then only time you'll ever see it is when someone calls you.
i finished a S2U2 Manilla Touchflo 2D Skin.
i think it matches very good with Manilla 2D. I have now permission from htctoucher, because his wm7 skin is the base. The graphics are from robertus3d's original manilla files.
there are two versions. one for people with callid active and one without callid active. the difference is that the clock frame is a bit larger with callid.
19.09.08: UDATE2: For the Diamond clock you have to use gundalbert`s clockH folder (You can get his theme here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2373177&postcount=201 ).
An adapted wallpaper for Diamond clock is attached.
19.09.08: UPDATE: New zip files for analog clock.
Changes from the last build *( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2643996#post2643996 ) :
- htctouchers permission (THX!)
- unknown call person vectorized
- Blue S2U2 Volume Meter
- complete gfx.zip
you`ll have to overwrite the files in the S2U2 gfx folder.

Sorry, corrected the link to prev. post. But what`s fubar?? I tested the post in 3 browser and they all show the screenshots correct!?
Very nice start!
A suggestion:
The slider should be changed into a more arrow-like shape.
Brilliant! I don't want no clunky iPhone interface no more
Thanks for all your work.
Thanks i like it i use it the last few day and all is good
wow wow
NIC WRK
chance 4 BLUE lover
Very nice job
I Like it alot. Very neat & far from being boring like the original or overdone like some of the others or the one I did myself, which got on my nerves.
One point though... on my MDA vario iii/tytn ii the slide button sits a little lower than its supposed. It does'nt sit snuggly in the slide box. Any ideas on why or how to rectify?
*update* Does anyone at all know how to fix this little hiccup???

It's an acronym. It means "F***** up beyond all recognition". I think he was just trying to say the links were bad.

Hooded_Villian: Can you post a screenshot of what it looks like?
Keland44: All the files are included in the zip. Are you sure you have overwritten the entire gfx folder (and subfolders including clock)?
monamibouli: could you share your entire gfx folder? Then i`ll see what i can do.. Since i don`t have a VGA device..
blazingwolf thanks for description
I can't see the pics either, just hotlink errors....
changed the image-service... hope the screenshots work now... can anyone suggest a good image hoster, that supports hotlinking?
Thanks! I'm using your wallpaper.jpg and unknown.png

Nice skin any chance of you doing a analogue clock version?
How do you get the big caller ID to work? Mine is only a small icon at the top.
