@ MykCer:
I can not respond your private message
xda-devs says "user not found"
maybe because of your "tm" after your username ??
Anyway here's your answer:
I don't use itje's ROM, but we can work it out I think
1- try installing BOTH cabs (1st and 2nd) as described in the post
2- Regarding the video screens being blank, check your "video call options" and uncheck all boxes "switch camera off..."
Hope this helps
Tell me what happens
Thanks for the info gtrab...
I've already tried installing both cabs...and check the video call settings...still both video screen's are blank...
If uninstalled... the Caller's video (Me...on the small video screen) is encountering a very weird orientation...the Video of I am calling is fine...but my video seem like rotated on wrong orientation...
I tried to voice-out this on the other thread but It seem that they are not interested on "Video Call"...Hoping you can find solutions on this issue...for future references...
Thanks again and Keep It Up...
P.S.
I'm just curious...what ROM are you using?
Hi gtrab...I've tried to install the 2 cabs...but still no luck on getting the video call working...
On Itje's ROM RC1.1 the cab seem to work by restoring the orrientation of the video image...but on the latest Touch-IT ROM (V4.0 II Blue)...still the screen goes total blackout...plus some humming sound during the call. I've tried to uninstall the videocall cab on the version of Touch-IT (V4.0 II) and the video call orientation returns to it's original state (wrong orrientation...or rotated.)
Anyway..i hope someone can find a fix on this...I really appreciate your quick reply on this issue...thank you very much and you guys rock!
Note: Seems like I'm not the only one who is concern about this issue...
Well I am using a standard UK 2 ROM right now because it lets me test my taskbar icons and some other goodies without interference or confusing bugs
The other phone is gone, I am waiting for another one right now, I think I will try Jack's latest and Itje's Topaz on that one
The videocall problems you describe here are not related to the CABs themselves, but to the topaz/rhodium ports onto the Xperia X1
And remember: many cooked ROMs are based on NAM R2A, thus lacking videocall abilities
gtrab...thank you for that very clear explanation...I will be trying to flash the latest ROM from Jack...because it is stated in his thread that it supports video calling...I'll giive some feedback as soon as I tested it...
Just curious...why do they not use UK R2A? since thier cooked ROMS will work both on X1a and X1i...
Thank you for sparing your time answering my questions...Keep up the good work...

Does anyone know how to fix this? Or what's caused this?
Really don't want to have to hard reset and reinstall apps one by one!
Referring to the "Call Hi..." bit on the bottom left. It's overlaying the video call toggle.
Cheers.
got the same problem, appeared after installing the hotfixes just 5 minutes ago.
I got that too after the hotfix install. I uninstalled the hotfixes but it still shows there.
Now if I try to install again it says "please use the correct version to install this hotfix"
I guess it didnt actually uninstall it
Installed that hotfix as well & can't reinstall it after uninstall.
Just looking through the hotfix exe's to see what its changed.
same here now i have to do hard reset?
Have the same problem.
I restored to an earlier backup.
Because even after UnInstalling the hot fix the text remains.
No probleme on french rom whit this hotfix .
Same as everyone else. Just noticed it when I went to make a phone call.
\Windows\Incall_02_B.bmp
\Windows\phcanhtc.dll
\Windows\rilphone.dll
\Windows\HTCLTB.png
\Windows\18c460d8_manila
These are the files from the two hotfixes.
If you:
1. Uninstall both hotfixes
2. Do a full backup with SPB backup or similar.
3. Do a hard reset.
4. Restore the backup but customise it so as to not restore the above five files.
It should go back to normal. Worked for me anyway.

Did UK users install UK version?
Can I check if the UK users experiencing problems downloaded the SLIDER fix from the HTC UK website or from the post in the forum which pointed to the HTC German website.
Please could you all respond.
Hello,
I am a UK user with ROM 1.14. Downloaded from the UK site from the European server. I have the "Call Hi" problem, but to be honest, I use the call history more than video calling, so apart from the icon looking bad, its done me a favor. If it was possible to make just that button look better, I would be very happy with its functionality. Video calling is still accessible from the menu.
same problem here.
the hot fixes are system fixes, when you uninstall, you are only removing the entries from the "remove programs" list, but the changes are not reversed. that's why it is not fixing the problem.
my only question is: which of the hot fixes caused this? I installed all three, and I know it's not the system freeze fix, because i installed that long time ago.

Hi Guys
I agree with Juggler258, it looks ugly but for me this is better functionality as well as I do not use video call! Peverse or what!!
OK - tried this a few times and unsure whether the slider is any better.

The slider hotfix.
i made a new thread about this problem, sorry about that.
It is annoying cause i want to make Video calls but now i can't because of this stupid hotfix.
Howcome HTC didn't saw this. I mean it's not some hidden bug - it's on the main screen come on.
@OFFTOPIC
The other day I sent their support an email about Flash and futer touchflo development. The answer was so lame I still don't have any clue.
It's not their job about flash,... they don't know at least not in the helpdesk blablabla.
Nokia offered me cool firmware updates and improvements - I hope HTC works that way too. Not just hotfixes.
Apparently HTC fixed this issue with the hotfix and video call problem. See this post.
EDIT: I just tried it and it works fine. Link to this HTC hotfix here.
Hi,new patchs are available :
- Hot fix for resolving a display flicker of the title bar in TouchFLO 3D 2009-01-07
- Hot fix for improving the on-screen slider feature for answering calls 2009-01-07
this one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468399
the slide to answer hotfix already declared not only useless but also harming. see here the solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468608
even the clowns at HTC realized that the fix is doing more damage than good and they "make it disappear".
hope nobody else jumped to install this fix (if it is still there). a short search before post is highly recommended, no matter how good yr intentions are.
Those seem to be new fixes, anyone tried them yet?
I just did a filecompare on the original file I still had and the new "_HTC Touch HD_TouchHD_display flicker.exe", they are identical.
I don't have the original _HTC Touch HD_Touch HD_SlidingAnswer.exe anymore so I can't check that, did HTC actually fix the bug in it?
Theres original 1/7 published fix if someone wants to compare it to version wich is on htc support now.
If you want i can make a clean install cab with all correct fixes incl. without the unnecc. reg entries incl. uninstall.
let me know if you want this.
for now. here are all relevant files from all 3 fixes as zip
!!PLS: but as you know, the "videocall button switch to call histroy bug" is there inside and isn't fixed !
These belongs to file:"phcanhtc.dll" !!
So my tip - copy all files (exclusive "phcanhtc.dll") to your windows dir and let me know how it works and if a cab for it is neccesary.

I actually like that feature never really did use the video calling feature
I can dial video phone
Yesterday, I installed the hot fix of "Hot fix for improving the on-screen slider feature for answering calls."
And I check the video call function, it's normal~
I didn't see "call history" on the left bottom. I also ask my friend to help to check it. His Blackstone is normal. We both can dail video phone.
Did I miss something or the HTC hot fix is fixed?
http://www.htc.com/europe/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=179&act=sd&cat=all
Yeap, HTC re-released a working version of the patch at the end of last week.
They have indeed fixed the hot fix. The one that's there now works fine. If you installed the old "fix" you can just install the new one on top of it - no need to uninstall
I've been trying to insyall the slider fix and it tells me I have the incorrect version. I just uninstalled the old version and installed the new fresh from the site. Any ideas?
Hello from Italy.
I successfully succeeded to install my first ROM on my Polaris at the end of the 2008 for the first time. I’m at the beginner level in this business.
It was PDAVIET 1.60.08.27 and up to now I was happy with it.
Since then I decided several time to update it again, but to be honest it didn’t gave me a reason to do it – it worked flawlessly until last week…. when….well.. I decided to try the famous TF3D and the 3D drivers on my machine.
I read carefully and did all the steps needed, but after the installation the TF3D refused to work at all. There was a message “Tap on the screen to activate TF3D” and after that noting happened. So, finally I gave up and uninstalled them both.
After this intervention I found one strange thing left as a mark of my useless efforts – I don’t have any possibility to change the Incoming calls melody and what is more there is no sound at all during the incoming call. Everything else that uses sound is working though – alarm, reminder, Mp3, etc.
Due to my ignorance maybe I did something stupid and my question is:
Is there any possibility the sound during the incoming calls to be restored without reinstalling the ROM? Some tweak into registry maybe??
If no, what would be your proposal for the replacement of that ROM – any new version that is using TF3D and 3D drivers? If i have to reinstall the ROM at least I want to do it with some of the lates versions. I tried to enter the PDAVIET webpage, but due to my poor Vietnamese I couldn’t cope with the registration at all. Any clue for that?
I’m just a regular user who values your work much. I find this website as one of the really important in my Favorites.
Regards,
KOKO
TF3D doesn't work properly due to shortcomings with the 3d drivers, so apart from a couple of early test roms from itje and PhamQuang there are no new ones.
.
If you're looking for a new rom, there are plenty to choose from on the first page of this forum. Personally, I'd recommend you take a look at the topic regarding TranMinhMan's WM 6.5 rom. It's the one I use and I reckon it's fast and pretty cool. If you want to stay with a WM 6.1 rom, then chavonbravo's VI suite is also really good.
I suggest you read up in the topics for each rom on what they have and don't have, as well as any problems people have had. That way you can make a good choice that suits your needs. Also be mindful of the recommended radio versions for different roms. These will be detailed in the posts within the topics.
NEW UPDATE ON MY OLD THREAD
Hello again.
It's been a while since my last question here in the forum.
I followed the recommendation of “cr1960” and installed completely new ROM on my machine - 3LIT3 VIII ROM Suite.
Everything went good, but surprisingly the same bug appeared again.
When you are in "Sounds and Notification" menu the system doesn't allow you to change the existing melody neither to choose from the ring types. Whatever you choose it return back to the default set type and tone. In support of that I got lost completely the sound during the incoming call - now I have to rely on feeling the vibrations only, no matter that the ring volume is set on its highest level.
It is awkward because it happened for the second time.
Is there anything that can be modified in the registries in order to fix the problem?
Thanks,
Cerrone
Please do hard reset after flashing
Hi cerrrone,
Kindly flash back to original shipped ROM, and don't forget procedure during and after flashing i.e removed sd card & do one hard reset after flashing. You can see the results.
Good luck
You can read & download the latest Pda Viet 6.5 built 23007 through this post but it not stable. Everybody waiting for Pcarvalho ROM coming out tomorrow.
I am not sure to tweak the registery but maybe you can try Advanced Configuration Tool v3.3.0.0 by Julien Schapman
Thanks a lot Nik Ahmad.
What I did yesterday is to re-flash the device with the same 3LIT3 VIII ROM and everything is OK now. What I noticed though is that when I tried to set the Manilla 2d with a different skin, chosen from the forum I got the same lost of incoming calls sound. It is happening if the skin file is a *.cab type and led to re-re-flashing again If you use the *.zip type there are no problems at all.
Anyway, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the final result now is satisfying to me.
Thanks for the help guys.
Cerrone.
This appears to be a problem for some people but not others. I cannot find a definite fix on the posts I have read, hoping someone has found a working solution, so started a thread for just this issue.
I have just installed Dutty's R10 WM6.5 ROM on my Touch HD, and only have that and S2U2 version 2.04 installed on top, and whenever I get an incoming call when the screen is locked, the call comes through fine, caller ID and all but I cannot answer it. WHen I go to slide to answer, the S2U2 app and the dialers own slide screen is fighting for priority. I seem to be able to answer on occasion if I repeatedly tap the answer hardware key, but this doesn't always work.
I have tried swapping the settings around, and disabling the S2A, but then the other green and red keys appear and still cannot answer. Also tried the suggestion of adding S2U2 to the boitouch exemptions list in the registry with no success.
Anyone had the same issues and fixed or knows of a patch or workaround?

Same here. I may have found a workaround.
Just disable Caller ID on S2U2 and let the 6.5 handle incoming calls with Caller ID.
I tested, seem to work fine for me. You should try it and feedback here.
Yes, disabling the Caller ID from within S2U" worked, fantastic!!!
Does anyone know why the Caller ID now doesn't work using Duttys R10 and S2U2? Previous ROMs (think they were all WM6.1 though) have worked..

Probably just the updated WM base used. These OEM's keep moving and it's prbably hard for AC to keep up with S2U2.
glad you found a fix....
I was in a similar boat... I have a T8285 for use of 3g in US, but I cant answer incoming calls when i leave the phone with 3g on and locked when the call is received. just passes the call to be missed, all the while i keep sliding the bar to answer. the hotfix from htc made it worse... just made the dialer screen all screwy.
I posted the problem in both miri and dutty threads that are of which i use, but neither are the actual culprit.
sooo I tried S2U2 and disabled caller id, as suggested in this thread, but this didnt fix it. after searching for weeks, i've been stuck leaving my phone on edge.
sorry for the sob story. i envy that you fixed something and i haven't lol.

A number of HTC hotfixes had similar affect with my phone, i.e. made dialer all screwed up. I generally don't use them as they get implemented into the latest roms anyhow.
Which rom are you using at present? Have you tried posting your query into the S2U2 thread. Your most likely going to get more accurate response from someone who uses that software

S2u2 is new to me, so I haven't had the chance; I'll check that dedicated thread shortly.
Currently I use miri WM 6.5 23009. I've posted in that rom development thread and read it almost thoroughly (1K+ pages!).
If you turn on "windows dialer" instead "slide to answer" everything works fine even with "caller ID-> ON".The only thing with windows dialer you can't see the call history in dialer but if you use call history button the history shows fine.
I'm using duttys6.5 r9 turbo
Solved.
Hello
With new S2U2 version 2.12 is solved. Even with htc dialer, even with Caller ID, etc.
I had the same problem with Rom 6.5. But now is ok.
Regards.

Where do you change it to "windows dialer"?
Hi Guys,
I'm currently working on a Sense 2.5 ROM for my beloved X1 and most things work out quite good. I am using Manila Core 2022 and everything else (ecxept people) 2021. WM build is 29007.
Anyway the problem is as folows: If I make a call, it's not beeing logged in call history. If I miss a call, it's not in there as well, additionally I don't see the Icon in the taskbare notifying mee of the missed call. If I recieve a call, the dailer hangs sometimes and refuses to answer it. If it's shown at all, becouse more often I don't even see the call. If I successfully made/recieved a call, the dailer hangs for about 1-2 seconds and nothing responds.
I tried different dailers right now, all of them used to work perfectly in other builds with/and without sense. For that reason I think it might not be related to the dailer at all... What else could it be?
Thanks a lot for your your help!
EDIT: anyone who need to solfe this problem please look at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7371585&postcount=2
Bump. No one?
For now I do have two suspects:
1) Build
2) One of the Oboe Packages.
OK, I think I got it fixed. The Problem was related to the 29007 build. I just swapped some older packages in and everything is going fine
EDIT: I was wrong. I still don't know whether it is Build or package realted...

Thanks.
Sorry, I was wrong (unfortunately), the bug is still present. I have nearly no clue, whats wrong here :-(
Changed the title of the thread again
Elaborated further: I could reproduce the following:
When I open a contact card (HTC or WinMo, doesn't matter) and dail a number directly from there it does not get logged into the call history. The question now is: is it build related or are there any HTC tweaks responsible for that?
The problem appear regardless whether i have a Sense ROM or a "nonsense" ROM, so the people Tab (which was my first suspect) cannot be responsible for that!
Anyone any Idea? Who else has cooked some 29007 ROM?
To finish that topic: I found a package called "dailer fix" in here somewhere. It contains a older or modified cprog.exe (the dailer) and some registry files. Apparently that fixed the problem.
As far as I understood the newer versions of WinMo Builds have a different place to store the call history that the older ones but HTC's tools (dailer, Manila call history, etc) have the old places hardcoded inside. So using simply an older cprog.exe seems to have fixed that.
