Call Divert Icon ? - Touch HD General

Something I really miss on the Blackstone is an icon highlighting the phone is currently set to divert calls.
Over the wkend I neglected to cancel divert and only noticed today that I had a voice msg on my 2nd phone - which is more robust for MTB'g
I've searched but couldn't find much of use.
Is is possible to have an icon displayed in the top bar ? Or adjust the notification led to another colour (blue perhaps) ? Or perhaps it's just not possible and is another WinMo "feature"

I would second this. The only place I know it shows is the dialer.
If there is a status call (I use WAD2) I can create my own icons...

Multiple icons mode

Hello fellows,
When there's more than one "pending" icon near the clock, such as: new message arrived, phone call missed, speakerphone ON, etc. -- they are (expectedly) replaced by one icon that looks like a bubble with some lines in it.
It's great way to see there are many notifications waiting for you. When clicked, this icon displays another row with all the constituent icons.
However, with O2 1.72.187 image (without Blackberry support as I don't need it) there is a permanent O2 icon displayed. And the worst about it is -- it is treated just like it IS one of "pending notice" icons! So if you get a text message, you don't have cute envelope icon, but you have a BUBBLE already!
Previous versions allowed to move the O2 icon (centre or left), and it didn't count as notice, so "new message", or "Missed call" icon displayed as is - and only when you had let's say "new message" AND "missed call" you used to get the "composite" bubble icon. Now you can not do anything with O2 icon (it used to display connections menu), and it's just a piece of ****e sitting there for no reason.
That issue really ticks me off as I can't instantly see on the screen - what exactly has my XDA II received! The red LED on the top right corner is very helpful to indicate waiting things, and if I could somehow make that O2 icon to NOT count into pending icons -- or may be just bump up +1 the wrap limit for that place, so it would accomodate one more icon before wrapping into bubble icon, -- I'd be a happy camper.
Can it be done via registry?
Thank you for your attention!

I looked into this thing with the O2 icon. Before the 1.72 release it used to allow selection of connection and to disconnect. It was also possible to position it elsewhere. Now all that is possible is to tap it and it brings up O2 Active. It sucks..
I found the registry entry that specifies the position of the icon, but altering it is useless because when ever O2 Active starts it changes the registry entry back to its 'middle' position setting. Sort of defeats the object of having the data in the registry in the first place! Even deleting the entry in the registry is no good as O2 Active re-creates it!.
I dont have the O2 Active burtton no more, i deleted it from the startup folder in windows and it doesnt load it up at start up, but if you click O2 Active then it shows up and you have to restart the xda2 again to get rid of it...
Thank you guys for your involvement.
I tried to just stop O2 app; it only could be cancelled with End Task, and the bloody icon still sat there, only this time doing nothing.
Seeing not much practical use in that "newfangled" O2 icon -- I thought I'll rather give up that interface at all.
Thank you dcs, it looks like they really deliberately locked things up to make it linger -- breaking the good thing and achieving the opposite effect. The old O2 app icon was a) useful; b) moveable between left corner & centre and c) didn't spoil the notifications count, so I didn't mind.
So I just went to add/remove programs and scrapped both O2 apps.
Then had to change background, as even after reboot there was ugly leftover on the screen (I think the right part remained transparent, ugh :evil. Finally it is all working fine now and I see what comes to my XDA2.
Enough time spent, mine and yours. It better be changed in next versions, or will be permanently kept out of my XDA-2.
<rant>Whoever designed that change just drove me off using the O2 app. (Talk about luring new customers?) I sincerely hope someone from O2 reads all the bitter words in this thread, and passes them to people responsible for packaging new OS versions. I like O2 as company, but the current state of O2 app is an abomination. (Also lots of referenced to paid services from the menu, but lack of free services)
By losing this app, there is no way I can subscribe to any of O2 "value-added" services. I have TomTom for realtime voice "satnav" and AvantGo for my news -- all with no rolling subscription fees.</rant>

Out of interest, just selecting a different theme in the Today settings clears the display problem (after uninstall) or prevents it from happening if done before uninstalling.

May be I had selected a wrong theme, (or may be the same theme and didn't realise it), but I had to also [x] "change background" checkbox. Then I selected the bright blue Default and that was it
Edit: "Change background" has nothing to do with background problem it's actually related to adjacent Browse button.
In fact there were only 4 Today themes that had this problem, all the rest of them worked fine. I presume they were old version or something.
Glad that you managed to solve the problem. However, mine continues as I use CommonTime mNotes to interface to Lotus Notes.
So whereas I has the speach bubble permanently on the today screen (sharing the frustration that I didn't know when I had received a missed call/SMS, revceived a new note etc), I now have a permanent 'M' symbol where the speach bubble originally was.
I really just want it blank and only to come up with a speach bubble where there is something new.
How do I get rid of the 'M'?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

You just want the ringer to RING without any other indication of an incoming call?
or
U dont want an INCOMING CALL ALLTOGETHER?
I gather it is the Former coz In the latter simply turn On <flight mode>
U can also set the device to recieve calls without Ringing by setting it to Pick up after <zero> calls.
Using a handsfree here would be an advantage.
U wont Miss any call.
I just want the ringer to RING without any other indication of an incoming call. Is it possible?

I doubt it... Seems kinda pointless, having the ability to tell you who is calling, but then deliberately turning it of..
yes, but when someone is calling, there is always a delay.
When you hear the first ring, the caller already heard it twice.
Maybe by disabling this, it would speed up the process a bit

That's the network, not the device.
It can't be the network, I never had this problem with my Nokia phones.
I personally think it's a flaw in the dialer application or in WinMobile itself.

Well... The cause may be that, but I doubt showing a caller ID screen will change the times....

I agree with texarcana here, the lights begin to flash on my phone when it rings a good few seconds before the screen get around to displaying the incoming call notification.
This is on WM 6.1, on my new HTC Diamond Touch.
I assume that notifications such as an incoming call or text message are either
A) A windows message sent to a background service awaiting it.
B) An application is executed with parameters describing the event
In either case, i believe it must be possible to redirect the notification in the registry. However, if the notification method is at fault (ie causing slow response, most likely to be true if B above is true.)
I'm going to investigate, I'll post an update of my results.
Im really sorry to bump this really old thread but has anyone solved this?? I would like to disable the incomming call notification too.. cuz I just added a full screen caller ID, but the damn notification pops up and covers the photos of my contacts.. so whats the point of the caller ID if i, not gonna be able to see the pictures
well i know its in Hkey_curent_User\controlpanel\notifications\phone
but im not sure how to disable it...
or even more important (for me) only disable it for a certain #...? thanks! anyonbdy
To Diamond I found. cab which options are unblocking "flash light for." in SOUND & NOTIFICATION it didn't give but nothing. I dug around in the HKLM/Drivers/Builtln/Keylight and Keypad register and I turned off LED generally speaking but I blocked buttons
first you'll need a registry editor, then edit the following key:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Phone
Duration=1
change the 1 to 0
im not sure if this is exactly the fix you were looking for. its intended for stopping he default caller id bubble from blocking fullscreen caller id apps like s2u2.

Didn't work for my samsung i760, what about DispllayOrder? Set it to 0 too? Or what would that do exactly? I'm curious now, it's set to 1 so if all else fails, I could change it back to 1 again... I guess. I'd just like to know first before I go blindly jumping into something.. haha
Sidenote setting it to 0 did work I just had to reset my phone so remember to reset your phone after changing this, I see the curtain try to popup, or at least the frames but nothing after that... Although sometimes it does act buggy and I'll completely miss or be able to answer a call cause my phone will constantly viberate (No pickup on ringtone at all starting) then after the call is missed the viberating will stop but my phone will still be frozen... Thats when the screen is off though..
Okay after a few tests sometimes it does work and sometimes it doesn't work at all and the curtain will still show up... Then again screen off sometimes the phone wont ring at all, I'm setting it back to 1... LoL
I just wish there was a way or a more advanced notification manager, it should be just like being able to disable incoming text messages and disabling sent message notifications..
____
I'd love a fix for this too, as I already have a picture caller id with PocketX Photo Contacts Pro...
But it's annoying as all get out!! To put it politely, I slide to answer then I've got to press the left softkey too! In order to answer a call, if I could just disable the built in windows mobile caller id curtain then it'd be a heck of a lot easier...
Please let's get a scripter on this to start working their way around and tweaking it to be able to be disabled..
Thanks!!
________
As for ring delay which is also a few other posters concern of the phone taking it's own sweet time to decide when to start ringing... This is what I used for my i760, I'm sure someone here could turn this into use for any phone make and model:
Ring Time Limit Fix:
**772 [service code]
six zeros for the code (000000)
Scroll down with the d-pad till you see end of basic nam
hit right d-pad to change "exit" to "more"
hit middle d-pad to select
hit the down d-pad 76 times till it says slot cycle index
Change this to 1 or lower EDIT: By entering the value with the number pad and then you hit the middle d-pad to exit.
This changes the frequency at which the phone talks to the tower and will
start the unit ringing MUCH faster. the lower you go the faster but the more battery it uses. I find 1 gets the phone ringing within 3 seconds but doesn't hinder battery life.

I've got mine set to 0 though, but then again, I don't get very many calls, plus I have my phone charging a lot. Also I always carry around a spare extended fully charged battery in my holster... Usually my battery lasts a whole day... But with it set to 0 my phone picks up and rings at the end of the first ring on the callers end.

No on-screen buttons during incoming calls [Solved]

Hi,
The query is about the "Answer", "Ignore" & "Mute Ring" not getting displayed in the incoming phone canvas in portrait mode, whereas the same is displayed in landscape mode.
In Jade, I would like to know whether there are any registry tweaks available to have the "Answer"(green color), "Ignore"(red color) & "Mute Ring" on-screen buttons displayed during an incoming call?
I had to use the hardware buttons (green and red physical buttons) to answer or reject an incoming call.
I have made few observations, which are listed below:
1. I have made the registry tweak to enable Landscape view. When the phone display is in Landscape view, if I get an incoming call, the "Answer", "Ignore" & "Mute Ring" on-screen buttons are displayed. It is only in portrait mode it isn't getting displayed.
2. The "End call" (red color) on-screen button along with few other option buttons are displayed on screen.
Thanks in advance
[Update:]Few more observations
I noticed something while receiving call during portrait and Landscape modes - There is a white backgound image that covers the entire screen in the portrait mode (over this image is where you see the default/custom caller image and the phone number). This image is the one that must be covering the 3 buttons, I am referring above.
Similarly, if you notice the background while dailing a number, you would see the image to fill only 30% (top part of the screen). Rest is the place where you have few other buttons and "End Call" (red color) button.
Hi, its me again,
I am still not sure on what needs to be done to have the on-screen buttons available during incoming calls.
Though, I was looking at the /Windows/ directory in the phone and found an image by name "IncomingCall". But not sure what to do with it.
Also, I am wondering whether there are any XML files to govern the placement position & size of the caller image and phone number that gets displayed during incoming call.
Now, I really doubt whether this is how it is in all Jades or is it just mine not displaying
[Update]:
I was searching the xda-developers > General discussion > Development and Hacking forum to get any info. Found an application called Minimal Phonecanvas (link here -->). Installed the full cab file as instructed. When testing, I could see that when I receive a call, I see the "Answer" and "Ignore" on-screen buttons, but I am not able to use them (meaning: when I touch the buttons either to answer or reject calls respectively, nothing happens.
The dialer screen options (for making outgoing calls) works perfectly though as described in the software description.
No luck still
[Update 2]
I want the incoming screen to look like this: Is it at all possible?
I too would be interested in an answer on this if anyone has the know how.
Jakai,
When searching the net for a solution, I happen to dig upon an application called Phone Canvas. Details are available at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430354.
I tested it and it works fine. (Note: It doesn't work exactly as how I wanted, as mentioned in this thread. But, it may solve your requirement. Though I do not prefer it).
Note: after installation, your battery icon may always show a full strength. A registry fix is provided in the same thread on page 54.
I tested both on jade and works fine.
Hi,
Its me again
The following registry folders exist in Jade:
HKLN/Security/Phone/Skin/DIALER
HKLN/Security/Phone/Skin/PROGRESS
May I know whether the following folder value can exist?
HKLN/Security/Phone/Skin/INCOMING
If so, what are the entire sub values that exists for the same. I just want to test, if has something to do with changing the incoming call phone canvas as requested in the above post.
thanks.
After so much of researching the Internet. I couldn't find a simple registry tweak. But got settled with S2U2 (slide 2 unlock). It has the slide to Answer option with various setups. Actually, I am more satisfied than the original "Answer", "Reject" buttons, I wanted to enable.
If any one need this, just search this XDA forum - development and Hacking section with keyword "S2U2".
Thanks.
hi, i also have the same problem. is this really the default settings of incoming calls for htc touch 3g???or is it a bug or something?

Line 1 Icon in Taskbar

hello at all
what ist this for an icon on the left side of the USB icon?
I never see this bevor. i know whats the icon for, but theres no way to make the icon invisible.
I flasht a new rom, and there is it too.
3 roms i tryed, on 2 is this icon.
i dont like it, because it was never there
is there a way to make this invisible?
i hope you can help me
do you have 2 lines active on your sim card? im sure its something like that, now its that icon i remember
i never change the settings, were can i do that?
Is there really now way to delete this icon or to make it invisible?
No cab or editor to overwrite this?
This is specific for Orange-provider (at least here in Austria):
The provider -code is: 0699, then comes 1 (meaning line 1) and then Your specific personal cell-phone number
Orange leaves the opportunity to have TWO cell-phone numbers on ONE SIM-Card, the second number then would show 2 (line 2) when active
There is no way to delete THIS, You have to live with it (except someone of the experts finds out exactly which manila-file is connected to this sign and manages to blank it out, but methinks this won´t happen)
I think i use the old rom, perhaps on a new version they use an other manilla file.
I cant live with this icon^^
thanks for you help and a nice weekend

Send preset SMS by pressing a button

Hi everyone. I have zero experience in programming and looking for somewhere to start!
How can i create an UI that have some buttons to send out a pre-made SMS command?
Is it possible to detect specific word after receiving a SMS and an indicator will change color in the UI. Example "Gas is detected" and when the keyword gas is found the indicator will change color (green to red).
The apps i want to create is something like SMS Remote control - 2.channel apps
