Does anyone know of a program that can restrict access to the contacts list?

and any other part of the phone, like Messages, Tasks or My Videos or My Pictures?
To clarify, I mean a program that would prompt for a password whenever the Contacts list or whatever was accessed.
No one?
Yes, I would defintely be interested in a program like that. Does anyone know of such a program

Good idea man. I know what you mean! Did you have someone look at your phone and say "Hey, cool phone dude!" Then start going through your folders and such like it was theirs? hahahahaha. That's probably happened to everyone!
This doesn't hide pictures but hides contacts and sms

Eye On Privacy 0.61
Overview: Eye On Privacy is most suitable tool to protect your private and sensitive infomation such as contacts, call history, tasks and SMS.When someone wants to see the information, a correct password is needed. If the password is incorrect, the information can not be shown.
Besides these basic functions, Eye On Privacy also has "Fake SMS", "Urgent SMS" function to give you advanced protection.
For hiding pictures you could install resco explorer and use the encrypt function to password protect them,so i reckon that covers all that you asked
or you could use pocket privacy
With PocketPrivacy you can hide your personal private data: contacts, tasks, appointments, databases, document files, programs, voice recording files, images, photos, music files, notes, Pocket Word and Pocket Excel files.

Lock Inbox - Secure Inbox

Hi All Developers,
When I was using HTC XPhone - WinMo 2002, I used a app which would password protect my inbox. Every time you closed the inbox (x-button kill), it would ask for password before opening the inbox - a great secruity feature. this app was RJV Secure Inbox. Attached for reference.
Of what I understood, it was a password form which would replace tmail.exe and on correct password it would invoke the orignal tmail.exe
Hence all inbox links / shortcut would refer to this password form If you went to the orignal tmail.exe, the inbox would open without the password form.
A simple trick but worked well when friends are curious to play with your great looking phone & end up reading your SMS/Mail.
Would some of you like to develop such app for WinMo5/6/6.5...
I am sure lot of people would appreciate your effort and donate also
R.
GREAT IDEA!
Also have the feature to lock certain folders inside your inbox, so i can just lock the folder I dont want friends to have access to.
Please do this, this is a great idea!
thanks
thank you very much for this
bump...
can anyone make this?

Password locked out, Samsung Saga windows 6.1 phone

My GF was messing with my Samsung Saga last night which uses windows mobile 6.1 operating system. In a drunken or high stupor she added a numeric password to my phone and now I can not access it at all. She and I tried a bunch of different codes only to get locked out of my phone because of too many attempts and all my clients numbers I have in it. My question is does anyone know how to hack into my phone so I do not loose all my contacts info? I have verizon carrier and I can look up all the numbers I have called in the last few months but calling up clients and asking them who they are is not an option. Does anyone have any sort of advice on how I can break the password now that I have reached the incorrect password limit? Any suggestions would be of great help. I did have the phone conected to my pc with active sync but I do not believe I ever figured out how to sync up my contacts only my pics...Although that means I have the hot pics of my gf I don't have the ultimately more important contacts I need for our livelyhood.
It might be possible for a verizon store to help you. But I imagine you will have to hard reset and lose everything. Now you could pull the pim.vol file use activesync.
How do I get the pim.vol
Activesync comes up as disabled and I can not access my phone at all. Any suggestions on how to get through that to copy my pim.vol file over to my pc? Oh and as for going to the verizon store I already tried that. They told me that with the password in place they could not do anything with the phone...
Little global card
I have the samsung saga so I noticed it has that card that allows it to be used over a GSM network I believe it is called. Does that card have the contacts on it by chance? And if so how could I read what is there?

(alpha)Password Protecting Phone??

Hey guys - I just got a new job and my employer's code of internet conduct (or w/e) says that in order to use company email on my phone, they strongly recommend password protecting my phone (to safeguard emails in case of theft)..
I'm coming from a Blackberry, where my phone was easy to password protect, but I can't seem to find that setting for the Evo. Is it possible?
(Yes I know about the screen unlock pattern thing - I was hoping for something slightly more secure?)
Thanks in advance!! (If it helps I'm fully rooted and NAND'd)
2.2 will finally bring it on an OS level but you can password protect apps:

If anyone can comment on their favorite security apps..

[Q] Saving pictures from emails???

Hi, new member here. Sorry if this answer is available in the forum, but i can't find it.
When i recieve an email on my nexus 4, how can i save a picture that may be attached? I've read just to touch the picture and hold, and and option to save will appear but it doesn't. Also, how do i empty my email recycle bin, and how can i put an accidentally deleted email back into my inbox? (from the recycle bin)
Sorry if all this should be easy, but i'm very much a novice.
Thanks
Will
If it is the Gmail app you can look at the bottom of the email and it will show the image under Attachments. Click this picture and it will open in the Gallery. From here click the 3 dots at the top and select Save.
I do not use the Email app and it sounds like you may be using that. I don't have a recycle bin in Gmail.
