[APP][CAB]Rhodium Notification Manager/Enhancement[3/10/09][ONLINE] - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I made this cab using the Rhodium ROM dump.
This is the new HTC Rhodium Notification Manager also known as Notification Enhancement.
Images have been resized to VGA and seems to work well but it is still not release quality software. THERE ARE BUGS!!!!
I only experience one bug that I'm not sure is even a bug. When you receive a new notification such as an SMS, you click on the title bar then click on the new notification and then you must click close. It does not automatically close the Notification Manager on it's own.
NOTES::
1. You should have a 21000 or higher build before using this. THIS WILL NOT WORK ON OLDER BUILDS!!
2. If this is already in your ROM, DO NOT INSTALL IT!!!

Here is a screenshot of it working on my AT&T Fuze running the RRE 5 Fuze ROM:

Installation instructions:

2. Soft-reset
3. Enjoy(except for the annoying bug)
If anyone here thinks they can fix this annoying bug then please by all means post the fix. Lets show the everyone what community really means!!

says cannot be installed because its not digitally signed??

Does this thing work on other devices too? I have a samsung omnia here...
Thanks!

Weird... Should work. I will double check dlls for signatures then re-up. It works for me but then again the ROM I'm using has certificate checking removed.

No. It has VGA images so it will only work on VGA but I can re-post the WVGA images which you can just drop into the windows folder on your device.

Thank you so much for this

this looks cool... any chance of a QVGA Version ?

I do also get the signature error!

Here are the WVGA images. Just extract the zip and copy all images to Windows after installing the cab.

Can you post another link as I keep getting this error; "Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"

The reason the SMS/EMail notifications don't close on their own is because when you click on one, it actually tries to launch the SMS or Email page in the Rhodium Manila Not being able to do so, Manila won't steal the focus from it like it would normally. I know I've had to hex edit notificationmanager.dll to see the new manil2.exe exe from xboxmod's rhodium manila. If you have a stock .dll in that cab, you might wanna contact xboxmod for the one I sent him, or just.. hex edit it yourself.

Try re-downloading and installing again. I replaced all DLLS with signed DLLS. It should work now.

Yes and no. When you click on "New SMS" or something like that, it DOES move the slider over to the "Messages Tab". In essence, this does work perfectly. It just doesn't close the Notification window automatically. If we can add that function then this would be perfect.
Keep in mind, this is the normal Manila.exe. The only difference in xboxmod's manila is that it is manil2.exe instead of manila.exe. That's the only reason the dll needed to be edited.

But it doesn't activate the nice notification icons like
You can see what I mean in the Topaz-ROM from udk! Just create a new appointment and see what's going on when it shows up the reminder!

Did you soft-reset after installation? Says in the installation instructions that you need to soft reset.
Go into settings and remove the new notification enhancement and then soft-reset. Then re-download in re-install. THEN SOFT RESET. It should work.

I installed the cab on my Touch HD, copied the WVGA files into \windows\ and then made a soft reset: Now I have no finger friendly notification menu anymore. It acts like a standard windows mobile titlebar.

I figured out how to customize Jimm98y dialer. It's a great, stable dialer that has smartdialer working perfectly.
First install Jimm98y dialer, then go to /windows and look for all the .png files that begin with Jimm98y. Copy those files to your computer and change them using the original as templates.
Update: I got HTC Touch dialer in portrait and landscape done.
Here's the PNG files you'll need for the Jimm98y dialer. All you have to do is:
Extract the files
Copy them into /windows folder in your pocket pc.
Overwrite the files.
Reset the phone.
Voila!

Great work..!
I will try it..!
whats the chances of making this into an actual cab file to just install once instead of messing around with copying files?
im sure mfrazz could help with that!

It looks like a ZIP file to me
Install instructions:
- Download and install the 'Jimm98y' dialer.
- Extract the files from the ZIP file in this thread.
- Copy all files >> /windows/ on your pocketpc (overwrite all files).
- Soft reset your device
It was even in the first thread, but now you really can't miss!
on exec don't work, hic
For those that want this as a cab file, it is pretty simple to do. Get a cab manager (winCE cab manager) and create a new cab with the files in there.
The smartdail on jimmy's dailer somehow not working on my BA. Any BA user encounter this problem?

Nope, this is a QVGA version..
I included the cab file in my first post that merges the Touch skin and Jimm98y's dialer, courtesy of KidGixxer
Smart Dial not working
I really love this skin, have done since the first jimmy98y dialer.
The problem is that my smart dial doesn't work.
My dialer looks like the one on the first post without the smart dial. Also, my left softkey is "Hide Keypad.
Any ideas?
(The cab wouldn't install by the way, I just copied the files into the windows folder manually)
Thanks and great work!
Oh wow, I don't know then. I never seen it like that....anyone else having this same problem?
Here's my take on the Call log buttons. They are based on the HTC logo =)
Just download them, extract them, and copy them to the /windows folder of your PPC

Hey Poorlyduck, how do you use a GIF for the splash screens? The splash screen kitchen that I've been using (from EqX) only had tools to use BMPs for the splash.
Inquiring minds want to know
Oh I found this in one of your other threads. So I guess we can only use PNGs and GIFs for the last splash image (the welcomehead.96.png)? No use of GIFs for the earlier splash screens that you have to flash into the device? Is that correct?
poorlyduck said:
...Pick whichever you like and drag the welcomehead.96.png to storage card or my document in ur PDA then use resco explorer or total commander to move it to windows directory, allow the new file to overwrite the original one.
Note: dont try to move the image directly from your computer to your device windows directory, it wont overwrite the old one due to windows protected files.
I suggest that you backup the original welcomehead.96.png somewhere in your pda in case you want to use it again one day without hard reseting.

You can convert the .gif in .png with XnView.
Rename in welcomehead.96.png
Copy this in the windows directory
My question : Is there a way to change the screen that comes before the splash screen on an ASUS P535 ????
Some devices have an "animated.gif" inside the Windows directory. Just replace that one with this one to get the animation on boot.
Don't know if it works on all devices, i think it depends on some application by HTC but i'm not sure.

Yeah, just copy the file to your \Windows folder then use a reg editor to change the following key,
HKLM>Software>HTC>StartupAnimation and change the GIFFile target to point to poorlyduck's new file:
GIFFile = \windows\poorlyducwindowsglobewg2.gif
I've created a cab package for ease of use and included another Black HTC Animated Screen.
i use P535 and i serch for the famous animated.gif...
but can 't exist on Asus p535...
I ve found the shutdown.gif but the splash screen before welcomehead.96.png does no exist in this format... .gif...
Anybody have an idea...

Dev. Stoped Jun/03/08 S2U2 lock/Unlock and playwave+Customizer

Since A_C has now integrated this feature into S2U2 this project is now dead. thank you to everyone for your support it was fun. If anyone has any other projects they would like done feel free to message me. I love writing and learning about mortscript. See you all on the flip side. This S2U2 addon will play any wave file specified when you lock or unlock your device
Before Setup
Install Mortscript, found here
.Net CF 2.0 also required for WM5.0 devices
Setup:
1. Copy cab to device and run; Only install to device, no storage card support at this time
2. In Start > Programs, run the UnlockWave Customizer and enter the paths of the wav files you'd like to use

Now when you lock or unlock your device the specified wave file will be played.

i don't quit get it yet..can give screenshot ? what wave is that mean?
a wave(.wav) file is a sound file. so what this script does is play a sound after the device is unlocked(using S2U2)

when you unlock your phone, it will make a sound from wave file. Wave is a audio file, just like mp3, or other form of audio files, but different format. Am I right?
Funny you were right I didn't notice you answered my request thank you.
Your welcome Alkhal. keep an eye out cause i will be remaking it. it's causing a few minor issues.(causing S2U2 to take a little longer to load and not allowing for the wallpapers to automatically change.) should have new version up over the weekend.
Thanks for the explanation I hope you can soon make a new version that is a stand alone version(i dun find mortscript on my program files folder) and with no bugs(slow down n can't change wallpaper)
He should add this to the first post, but here's the final deal, cleaned up and all bundled up in a CAB:

I just figured it out, but there is a big delay.. i even change the value of s2u2 to 100 still a big delay... any fix to this? Thanks
wave=readfile("\program files\mortscript\wave.txt")
while(ProcExists("ilock2.exe"))
waitforactive("S2U2",100)
while(wndactive("S2U2"))
sleep(100)
endwhile
playsound(wave)
endwhile
i'm not sure i can explain the delay. how big are we talking about here. it plays right away on my device. i will do some testing at some point today.

Do you watch LOST? I'm currently making a windows mobile LOST theme that I'll get up sometime soon
anybody have the clicking noise of iphone when it unlocks on wave?
I have just written a little app for changing the wav file. It's main advantage being it has a search box.

woow its looking nice
gonna give it a try
looks amazing, but without landscape support on xperia seems pretty useless. Every time I slide the keyboard wad2 mess up
Well, You can easily build a landscape skin with WAD2
Scroll further down the thread I linked to. There is a landscape version
http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=88526&postcount=69
for QVGA, it isn't as perfected as the VGA, but its pretty good.
what about WAD3? is it better? works perfectly in X1? any good theme of WAD3?
I am kind of confused on installing this theme? Do I need to install any programs before using this theme?
Or just need to copy all the theme files into the X1 will do, need some advices on this.
Can anyone confirm if they got this working on Xperia? especially if it does work in landscape after the patches? and which ones for landscape?

you have to install WAD 2 first before doing the given instructions on the site, WAD stands for WisBar Advance Desktop
Installed incorrect versions...previous post deleted.

qvga landscape on wvga device? No thanks, I stay with my manilaHD tht messes up every time I open my keyboard If a real landscape will be developed I'm going to be #1 supporter, not for now
I have managed to get it installed and copied the landscape files into the respective folder but when I open the keyboard, the landscape mode does not appear anything.
How to change the interface to the one similar to the Windows Vista like the one attached with this thread? Does it appear as a theme or I have to change parts by parts.
Appreciate your advises, thanks.

not sure why his link has omnia on it but it has the xpiera back, that works with Spb Mobile Shell 1.2.2+
Tried that ChangeSkin
Destroyed my SPB panel. Just didnt work lol. Uninstalled it and the skin was still there and all messed up.
Had to manually uninstall it, delete the panel and reinstall the panel.
Not worth the efford tbh
