Sorry if this had been previous addressed. I want to change from official to Dutty’s rom. I was wondering if I happen to have a problem with it, is it possible if I do a hard reset and it will turn back to factory setting ( the official rom) ?
thanks
No, you'll need to flash back the official ROM.
no you would need to re-flash the stock rom - details can be found on the wiki...

Dear poeple,
I have this question about an upgrade i have put on my artemis .
I have upgraded my artemis to wm6 rom Gibs217 now i wanted to roll back my phone to the old settings and the old rom.
I have upgraded it so my question is can somebody please tell me how to downgrade my artemis to the old settings and rom again .
Very much appreciate the help.
Greetings,
Vibes.
the same way as you upgraded just with the old rom insted of the new one
the old rom is gon from your device and will have to be reapply'd
upgrading error
But thereis the problem when i reapply the original rom after 1% it crashes and say that the rom is corrupt i tried it with 3other images and they all did the same so what would you do if you were me ? isnt there a way to remove the new rom and let the original rom install itself or something ?
sorry dont know much about flashing artemis
but when you flash a new rom it's kinda like formatting your pc harddisk
and installing a new os
you cant roll back
i would wait and see if a more spc artemis expert flasher comes along and tell you what to do
or start reading threads about how to fix your flashing issue
few issues comes along that nobody before have encountered
so it could be that search would lead you do a fix
I have just bought htc touch hd with dansih OS rom. the phone is locked to danish 3g (www.3.dk).
#1. Any thing I need to take care to flash a new OS on a locked phone?
#2. Do I need to find&save the configuration for 3g setup thus after I
flash to english OS, I will still be able to call&surf?
#3. How could I backup the complete ROM thus when something goes wrong
I could revert to original ROM and retrun the phone?
I tried to find the answer int he forum, but failed. Thanks in advance for your answer.
Now I started to get some answer to my own question:
#1. I will need to have SSPL or HSPL to flash my rom to another language
I prefer to SSPL.
#2. The phone will still be locked to 3.com after flashing which I don't care
Still questions:
#1. Any setup related to 3.com for internet surfing?
#2. How I could backup original ROM and revert to the original ROM?
I am living in DK and got the same phone from 3.
Used USPL when flashing, and no problems at all.
The phone will automatically get 3;s settings from the network.
The original Danish rom is available in the rom development forum in one of the stickies
Thank you for the answer. I will try to flash it then.
Just a piece of advice - MUST read wiki pages regarding flashing ROMS. This will enable you to flash the device with confidence and will prevent any possibility of DAMAGE you may cause during flashing.
Credit to those pages goes to respective authors.
Thank you. I have just successfully flashed HD to the latest english version
with the advice from wiki and you.
Everything works fine.
Got another couple of questions:
#1. What is the difference of "fully power off" from "soft reset"
#2. GPS and AGPS. How does GPS work in HD?
Is that possible to turn it on/off manually to save power if navigation is not needed.
#3. Do you have any recommendation of a cooked ROM? My taste is to have a lite version. e.g.: I don't really need google maps which I could install at any time when needed.
Thanks.

Click to collapse
In order to return to the "original ROM" you need to flash your device with THAT ROM.
If you want to revert back to the shipped rom, please visit HTC official support page, pick your device, click download and find the latest ROM.
Follow the instructions from HTC when flashing official ROMs!
You will be fine, just do as the HTC support instructions tells you to, not as described here (when flashing original ROMs that is.)
that update is actually to re-install the whole rom but not to update only some files?
Yes it will, if I remember correctly, they call them a "ROM Update".
I don't know if you can just run the ROM update executable off HTC's website if you have HSPL installed though (Can someone confirm this either way?)
sorry I am new for this..
I found HTC Touch HD HSPL's link to be dowloaded.
But what does hspl means?
Hello there, and first of all excuse my english, I'll try to explain my question as best as I can
I have an htc Surround running a custom ROM (the phone was already running an old DFT ROM when I got my hands on it), after some research I am still doubting if flashing my phone with a stock ROM can lock something making it unable to reinstall the current Custom ROM on my phone.
It's just a simple question, but can't find any clear info about that, so I am asking as my last resource, I don't want to lock the bootloader or something like that.
My plan is to install a stock ROM, then upgrade it step-by-step to 7.8 using the Seven-Eighter tool, and if anything goes wrong or I don't like it, reinstall the custom ROM from always using the RUU I have on my hard disk
If need to post some info about my phone feel free to ask about it.
Regards and thanks for reading!
Hi, it's me again
Reading more I find this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
looks like I should lose my HSPL (as I refer to bootloader in my previous post) if I flash using a stock ROM using the RUU from NODO.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Regards
Hello, I'm in need of the VNS-L21C66 stock rom, I can't seem to find the C66 rom anywhere, currently using the VNS-L21C66B131 rom, the reason why I need to reflash the rom is because I want to lock bootloader and get back to it's factory condition, software wise thanks in advance!
