I want to disable GPRS roaming. GPRS for Home Network should still work. Is there an SW available or maybe some registry hack to accomplish this.
I'm interested too. Is it possible?
One alternative
Search for Modaco Nodata, this application allows you to manually enable or disable individually your data connections.
this one.....
Works great for me I use the 8125 and always use wifi

thanks alot it works perfectly on HTC BlackSton
another solution is installoing advancedconfigtool! works great!
Start>Settings>Connections>Connections>(Under My Isp)Manage existing..> then on your connection hold on it and then click delete. This will delete all data connections.
this app will AUTOMATICALLY disable DATA on roaming and re-enable under home network
check it out @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3619565

Anyone have a no data.cab??
i only use wifi.
When i want to start using data, rather than wifi, how do i undo the recommended cab?
thanks.
I'm not comfortable doing reg.tweaks manually myself.
Just go to Settings, Menu, More, Connections, Connection, Enhanced (or whatever it is called in WWE ROM), Choose Networks, Set both to Firmennetzwerk (Companynetwork or similar. Sorry dont know the translation, just not ISP, not your providers connection)
--> You can be 100% sure that there is no internet connection (except wifi) possible until you run the automatic connection setup or change the settings back manually.
--> You dont need nodata

Well, background data is required when you want to access market or want to sync your contacts, calendar, and events with google...if you don't need market, you can disable this option...
If you want to, you can create a dummy APN with no server address. Once you connect to it, the mobile internet will stop connecting.
COuld you teach me how to create? I am abit not sure about this.
Go to Settings>Wireless & Network>Mobile Network>Access Point Names>Menu>New APN.
Now type the Name as 'Off' and type the APN as 'dummy' and save it. When you select that APN, your Mobile internet will turn off.
Cheers.
Is there a way to ONLY set my dataconnection for MMS, but NOT for everything else? because I pay a lot when it's on.. my HD2 uses the dataconnection for everything, but I only want my WLan for apps. And for MMS data.
yes actually
try this:
http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility-nodata/
I havent tested it working on hd2 but I used it on my old omnia and it worked flawlessly.
(you could also just remove the internet settings but not the mms settings, they are stored seperately, but this will remove your ability to connect to the net in the future if you need to.)
great I will try it this evening thanks
edit: won't this stop my entire dataconnection (included mms?)
found sth else: will try this tonight: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=datacontroller+cab
no, nodata allows you to specify which data connection is enabled and which is enabled, mms and internet use different connections so they appear seperately in the list to enable/disable.

-dataconnection for MMS
-WLan for internet use of my installed programs, browsers etc.
Not sure now you make me doubt.
I want to disable any data connection ability on GRPS/3g and only do data on my wifi on the 8525. Suggestions?
Go to modaco and find nodata prog for hermes
No Data program
I had found this and downloaded it but have seen posts on this forum that said some could not get it to work.
Always you can delete your settings for GPRS...
