lol i smell and HTC lawsuit underway haha

yeah but you know, with a touchscreen only device, there is little left to imagination...

at least it has tri band 3g. htc really went awry in reducing the range of supported bands in their latest handsets

Actually, the acer has a cleaner square look to it...

I wonder if they have managed to gid rid of the annoying fingerprints issue, looks cleaner as galaxys said

yes, but it does have a proper stylus... the touchHD one gets pretty uncomfortable after a while.

Try and limit my time on stylus anyhow, don't use it to much to be honest unless and using file explorer or changing my registry

Thats the way to do it!!!!
Curiosity, what apps do you have installed for keyboard, file exporer etc?

I use the stylus to write quite a bit as the recognition is much faster than I can input using fingerkeyboard2 etc. For serious remote terminal, i use my bluetooth folding keyboard but that doesn't get much use. The stylus was the winning feature for me, something else over the iphone and others. I also use remote desktops and having a pointer is priceless.
For the most part though, i'll admit i never use the stylus with day to day messaging, phone calling etc ... but is sooo handy to have.

I think it makes the Universal worth having - I just got a Hermes yesterday, and despite it being a beautiful device with feck small buttons, QVGA is too old school these days.
VGA will make you blind faster then the Victoria Secret's catalogue, but it looks beautiful. With careful tweaking it can be made usable for day to day work, but for remote desktop or PocketWord etc, it's great.

VGA mode is fantastic - I couldn't be without it.
I have it turned on all the time but find it mainly useful for:
Web Browsing and actually being able to see worth a damn
PocketPutty connections
Terminal Services

You think that's weird, you should see my table-arm attachment:
FYI - I'm working on a new app for the phone, to make it much better then VJBigPhone. One day some time, hopefully this year
But seriously, VGA is great technically and it's a real shame to use QVGA afterwards, but it is painfully small sometimes. But with appropriate UI tweaks, it can work very well.

Iphone OS

Recently a hacker successfully installed Android 1.5 on the Iphone 2G. Is the opposite possible? (Android running Iphone OS)
alpha124
Only Apple knows how to do it. And they won't.
But in theory they could use ANY hardware. But they won't.
Why do you want to run IPhone OS on different hardware in the first place?
because we can?

Always the best reason
If you manage to get ouch-phone OS (if you where to translate "iPhone" phonetically to Swedish you'd get the equivalent to "ouch-phone") running on other hardware than the fruit company's own hardware I'd take my hat off...

same here
I'd like to see someone try! Even maybe an iPhone theme for Sense would be pretty cool, in an ironic way of course.
android is open source, so it's much more adjustable, therefore it's more "easy" to get it to work on the iphone, than the opposite.

yeah I also thought of that, but was kinda hoping it would somehow work.
I'm fairly sure it's possible, but I don't think it's possible to do it with full functionality.
well I would be happy if I can make and receive calls
Even if it is possible I am sure that the OS has a built in check to confirm it is running on their hardware.
I don't know if this counts, but...

I dunno, I've never used an iPhone. Just like the look of it.

http://1saleaday.com/wireless/ has the G-Tech Bluetooth Wireless Fabric Keyboard with Adjustable Key Sensitivity & ElekTex Flexible Technology
for ten bucks shipped. I just ordered it and won't have any idea about compatability or usefullness until I get it. But I imagine that it should be just fine.
Since it is a deal a day site. These deals are here one minute and gone the next.
I'll post a quickie review when it comes in.
EDIT; I just got back from reading the reviews at Amazon... Doesn't look good at all. Might work with the tablet, might not. Buy at your own risk. Next time I read the reviews first... DOH!
This would be really cool if it worked well!

Yeah, be nice if it works. I do not expect it too, but if I have any success I will post it here. The device actually requires an app installed on a pc or windows mobile phone(not the new windows phone) to work. There's like maybe a 2% chance that it will.
Sorry about cluttering the board with this...
At first I thought 'interesting' then I read the Amazon reviews, as you did, then I thought 'ouch'.
I thought I was the only only one to say meh its only ten dollars! Im still waiting and hoping it works at least twice.LOL
Im hoping this will work with the phone since the 10 amazon one wont because of outdated drivers. (works for HC though LOL)!
I bought this keyboard only to find out about it, after i got it home, that it does not work with android.
I do have a touchpad and it is suppose to work with palm OS so perhaps it will work on that tablet.
Anyone get it to work on android device or the touchPad running WebOS?
Gary
Hey guys, check this out:
[ok i'm not able to post external links, but search for blue piano]
This may work on the keyboard. Someone has tried it, but there are issues with the keyboard sending extraneous characters.

Found the app in the market... BluePiano.
It does seem to pick up the keystrokes. I've only tried the demo version. I think that those extra characters are a "feature" of the demo. Lol it is a 20 dollar app so the price of this cheap keyboard just went to the next level.
Thanks so much for the tip. I may get the app when I get paid.

[FIX] Lines near the edge appear curved when draw near the edge of the screen

While searching for a fix from samsung FAQ due to charging hissing, I saw this FAQ from Samsung site. This guide don't appear on some of the country's Samsung FAQ, but it shows up in International Samsung FAQ.

I tested it, and it works!
P.S., I went to my local Samsung Service Centre, they replaced my hissing charger with a new one instantly without asking any question. I'm sure they knew about this. The most interesting part is the the charger is heavier compared to the my previous one.
Do let me know if this thread is already created.
Thanks in advance,
From MelvinChng
Tried this, and it doesn't work for me. When set to Right Handed, there's a minor deviation. When set to left handed, there's a far more severe deviation.

Depends on which Hand you write with
Accidentally sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Nope, and the phone can't tell which hand you're using anyway. I tried both settings. Left handed has a more pronounced deviation, but there's still a deviation for both hands. And I tried that with both hands too.

Just try to draw with this two angle, and you will know the difference.
Accidentally sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2
I know how to draw lines. It deviates on both settings, it's just significantly worse when set to left handed. The position of the pen itself is irrelevant.
Yours is deviating on both too, though not as much as mine is.

Tabs inside tabs

Hi everyone!!
I have the first level of tab done with FragmentTabHost in FragmentActivity, now I want do the second level(tabs inside tab). What is the best way to do it?
Something like this:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

Why would you want to do this? It seems a bit weird, mainly because it takes up a lot of screen real estate.
I'm guessing there's a better way of implementing whatever it is that you're trying to do .

I totally agree.
I found this video from the last Google I/O very helpful, when I had to make decisions regarding navigation: http://youtu.be/XpqyiBR0lJ4

Yep, lots of good ways. I'll have to take a look at that as well!

Worst design pattern ever. That would confuse users so much
If you really need this kind of nested navigation, I guess the right way would be to replace your 2nd tab host with a Spinner allowing to change the fragment in the current tab, with a FragmentTransaction.
(Although I'm pretty sure you can avoid this pattern in most cases if you really think about it).
op pls respond

I chose to put a spinner in ActionBar instead of the first tabhost. Much cleaner now
Thanks

Makes sense.
And it consumes less space.
