[Q] PocketDOS on X1 - XPERIA X1 General

I've installed PocketDOS 1.12.1 with FREEDOS on my X1. PocketDOS runs just fine and shows my storage card as c: - which is good.
Now I'm trying to get my favourite oldschool DOS game running, One Must Fall (OMF). Here, a problem occurs where it states that an error occured at *hex code*. aka, it doesn't run as DOS normally would. (and yes, I've tested OMF, it works fine on my PC) I've also tried x486 emulator, but OMF sais that no 486 is detected.
Has anyone gotten a DOS emulator running properly? I'd love to play this game on my X1.

Give me a hint where I can get the game and i'll test it on my PocketDOS setup.

I have no idea where I got it from, but I'm pretty sure it's shareware.
How about you share your pocketDOS setup?

Sure

Sure thing, what exactly do you want sharing?
I'll go google the game and ty it out first, no point wasting time if it doesnt work.

Ok
I just installed it and it works fine with sound off. If I enable sound i get a runtime error, but with about 10 sound card options to choose plus having to manually chose the IRQ and DMA channel it was unlikely I was going to get it right first time any way.
There is also an update for the game that was STRONGLY recommended, I'll install that now too and see if it still works.
P.S. It's currently running pretty slow.

Alright. Good to see that at least you've gotten it to work.
What version of PocketDOS are you using, any addons? I'm using 1.12.1 with FREEDOS. Also tried the x468 plugin, but that didn't work properly.
Perhaps the OMF I've got isn't any good for the PPC..

I got OMF from dosgamesarchive.com
PocketDOS v1.12.1
FREEDOS100 cab
PDOS_BOCHS_CPU.dll 486 emulation
If you put more than 1 DLL in there for the emulation it wont detect or work. Delete the DOSBOX one if you have the both then enable this one in settings.
P.S. I tried installing the update for OMF.... I didn't notice any improvement ... but it did break the "full version" and make it a demo.

my cracked version works tho i even had heroes of might and magic working on a 11mghz 486 and also windows 3.0

Aye, I got it to work now, but it's indeed slow as hell. The X1 is far more powerful than is needed for this game. I've only tried a 486 emulator, does anyone have a pentium emulator?
Would love to get this game running properly!
I also noticed one graphical issue, the screen is shifted towards the right a bit, clipping off ~60px of the image. On the left side, the missing pixels appear. You guys see that too?

i'd say skip the emulators and run native games for good performance

Just try this:
In the dosbox goto
Settings ;Display ;performance
Write mode :Choice Write-thrrough
and under
options: choice "Write directly to display memory"
perhaps this might help.
best regards

not using any plugin, increased the expanded and extended ram to above 8mb, under display write mode "write through" and "write directly to video memory"
this setting makes some of my games not as painfully slow as dosbox 4-7 fps... quite playable, just no sound

You have to have a cpu plugin to run OMF.
The tweaks aren't helping!

try the PDOS_BOCHS_CPU.dll plugin with that setting? it will probably slow it down pretty bad...
i dont get how some of the xscale 500mhz+ device runs some games at 20fps while x1 runs at 4-7fps with the exact same setting using dosbox...

Yes, that's the dll I'm using. Are there any better ones? I mean, this is 486 emulation, there must be something like a pentium emulator around.
I don't get why the X1 doesn't run it smoothly either. Though I guess it's the qualcomm cpu that isn't properly supported.

Just the thread i waited for...
I've been trying to get dosgames to run on my x1 for quiet a while but coludn't get any sattisfying results.
I used three different versions of dosbox for ppc but they were all too slow and had problems with their on screen keyboard. the wvgascreen is an other problem. but the worst thing is that development of dos-emus for winmob stopped a long time ago.
I would wet my pants if i cold get rebel assault with sound to run on my phone at a playable framerate...

i just dont think the 2d driver is properly implemented... like all the msm7xxx line qualcomm cpu
my dell axim x51 (xscale 416mhz) runs dos games fine with dosbox (20-33fps), and x1 runs at 4-7fps, and a whooping 11fps when the screen is completely blank ); with pocketdos, the dell axim is running at full speed (except when 486 cpu plugin is used), x1 is just playable with a big "?" attached to it
same goes for morphgear snes module, it is quite fast with axim x51 with mid quality sound, but lags on x1 with no sound (still playable)

Has anyone tried to run the no$gba dos version on pocket dos?
Would be very interesting if or how it works.

Not me. What exactly is that?

Well, its a gba emulator
It comes as a windows or dos version. haven't tried it myself. Maybe because i do not have pocket dos on my X1^^.
Its freeware, not like morphgear. You find it on the site linked above.

SNES Emulation Speed

I've been thinking of getting an HTC P4350 (Herald) lately, but the one thing holding me back is the 200MHz TI OMAP 850 processor. What I am interested in finding out before making the purchase is how well the 200MHz processor handles SNES emulation. Because I play SNES games like Chrono Trigger alot, I would like to make sure that the Herald can handle these games at a decent speed before I make the purchase. If anyone can let me know their experience with SNES emulation on the Herald, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
Hi Jester_b84
I've been using the SNES Emulator on the Herald. The games we're running good with 200 MHz processor speed of the Herald. What I have never got working is the sound of SNES games.
And I've never played your game "Chrono Trigger" but a lot of other like "Super Mario" and "F-Zero".
Another possibility is to overclock the processor for playing SNES games. Just look around the forum. I'm sure you'll find some more information about overclocking the Herald...
Raftbone
Hello raftbone, thanks for your response. It's good news that you have SNES running smoothly on the Herald. I used to use n0p's port of SNES9x and it was running great, but slightly slow on my 624MHz processor and there were incompatibilities with some games I like to play. I switched to MorphGear tonight and it ran very smoothly (with sound) on a 624MHz processor. If only I could try it on a 200MHz processor, that would be great...
Hi Jester
I'll try it for you. Just downloaded MorphGear. I only need to find some free time today to test it on the herald. I'll let you know my experience as soon as I can...

Thanks raftbone! I will wait eagerly for your results.
Sorry for the long delay... I've tested MorphGear with my Herald. Games like Super Mario run very smooth, but what I cannot get working is the sound. Same problem as with Pocket SNES.
The other problem with MorphGear is, that the display does not automatically switch to landscape mode when sliding out the keyboard...
If you'd like to play SNES games, this is in general no problem with the Herald (but without sound) but I prefer Pocket SNES than MorphGear...
Hope this may help you
Thank you for your testing raftbone, I greatly appreciate it! At first, I could not get sound working under MorphGear either - but here is my solution:
- Go to Global Settings
- Make sure "Enable Sound" is checked & Volume @ 100%
- Go to SNES9x (SNES) settings
- Under "Sound", make sure both "Enable Sound" and "Emulate" are checked
- Close and re-launch MorphGear.
Now, sound should work perfectly!
Thanks for the hint. Sounds works now
So which runs faster, n0p's or MorphGear?
they're more ore less running on the same speed...
my personal favourite is still n0p's pocket snes.
don't know about yall but i was trying to run chrono trigger with n0ps and it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow

Did you try MorphGear? On my current PPC, MorphGear runs much faster than n0p's PocketSNES port when playing Chrono Trigger.
Hello, I was chacking out the Herald today at T-Mobile. Generally, how well does it feel to pay SNES or NES on the phone? I assume you use the directional buttons as the d-pad. What about A, B, X, Y, and L & R?
Games like Mario World are very demanding of precise control. Is the Herald a good platform for playing such games?
Thanks!
I haven't been playing SNES stuff yet, just NES games right now, but for the controls, I've found that using the slide out keyboard is a lot more comfortable for me than the built-in buttons. I map the A/B?etc buttons to the keyboard buttons (don't map to the arrow buttons though) and when playing games, I'll slide out the keyboard, change the orientation back to portrait, and launch my emulator. Games that require multiple button presses (e.g., pressing A while holding down B) are still a little difficult for me to play, but otherwise works pretty well.
As for Morphgear, I'll have to give it a try for the SNES emu...I used it for NES emu and it was slower than Pcoketnester.
Can anyone please attach the CAB files for Morphgear and the SNES module? The official Morphgear site is undergoing some work, and you can't download from there right now.

Silly question but did you try a soft reset before? Did you try removing anything that takes up memory (like Today plugins) and trying again?
@vudu: What emulator are you using BTW?

I tried the reset. I didn't try disabling anything on the Today Screen, though I had already disabled everything except MyFavs and BatteryStatus.
It's all moot now. I returned my Wing and cancelled my T-Mobile account. Mobile IE is a spectacular POS. A web browser was the primary reason I bought a PDA phone, so when the browser sucked, the phone sucked.
I ran morphgear on my PPC 6700, it ran most games fine, would slow down sometimes if a lot was going on at once. I don't think I ever had a problem with the sound, just had to tinker with the settings. I liked morphgear much better than pocetsnes. Chrono Trigger played well, with a slight delay. The PPC 6700 has a 400mhz processor, I don't know about the Herald because it has 200mhz, but I am getting a Wing this week so I would like to know if it's worth even installing.

Tony Hawk accelerated running full speed at Xperia X1

I have just managed to work THPS2 accelerated working at full speed on our's X1 So what you need to do?
1. Get Software version of THPS2
2. Get libgles_cl.dll file from this kaiser theard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415523 and copy it into \Windows directory (unpacked of course)
3. Open directory where you have installed THPS2 and delete orginall file libgles_cl.dll from this directory
4. Edit file TH2_OPT.CFG :
- set RESOLUTION=640x480
- set Quality=High
Save file and close.
5. Run THPS2.exe or THPS2 shortcut in Games and enjoy!!

Do you also got it to display the IN-game grafics full screen `?

Very nice, just tested it out, works very smoothly, full screen, full speed and the screen rotates to the correct orientation once the HW keyboard is opened.
Using the same file and method you can get Quake mobile to start but it crashes once it starts to load the game files. Any Ideas?

Yes, I have also managed to run Quake III Arena accelerated version (I have problems with texturing yet, but it maybe problem of config file), and software version with more fps (from 7-8 to 14-15). Also DoomGLES is working now but it is not visable ok on the screen (the screen is moved but I have tested only Doom 1 for now).
where to get software version??
I love it when things keep getting better
<3 the X1
Though, is this really full speed? Is the speed the same on the x51v, how do the gpus compare? And is it the gpu or the cpu slowing it down, could maybe overclocking the cpu give me a speed boost? Anyway it's cool you can map the game to the keyboard aswell. Lovely PC ports
By the way, how about the accelerated version of Stuntcar Extreme, does it work too?

That's interesting as I did the GLES benchmark and ended up with measly 880 points in WVGA and around 990 in VGA while the x51v supposedly gets around 1200. I've even seen someone getting 1290 with a diamond, is such low score normal for the X1 or is there a way to improve it?

I don't have THPS2 software either. I was able to get the accelerated version, but it does not work well as there are no textures in the skate parks. I think there is a software AND hardware version of THPS2, and even when I set the hardware version to use software rendering, it will not load the level.
Would be great to get a test version of THPS2 software/unaccelerated, but alas, WAREZ ARE NOT ALLOWED!
I'm also quite interested in Dutty's new D3D drivers. I don't suppose there is a chance that they will wreck my X1, as it looks like you can uninstall them easily. Also, when deleting a file from \Windows, if that file was in ROM, it should reappear correct? (i.e. I delete the Dutty files that were copied to \Windows, and the originals should take their place)

ive not seen any downsides to these drivers yet.
yes if you "overwrite" a file in rom ghe original remains, so as long as you can delete the replacement then the system will go back to using the original

Emulator for Touch Pro2 (+roms)

Guys,
Any good emulators for HTC Touch Pro 2 on the net? - GBC
- GBA
- PS
Any nice games/roms for these emulators?(for example i would like to have the whole pokemon series (from GBC to GBA (to DS if possible)))
What are your sources? sites and ****
Will there be emulators of PSP or DS or something or isnt that possible?
Thanks
Dont think those emulators exists.
I was looking for emulators of nes and sega, could find anything..
You can use morphgear if you change your IME settings so it can recognise the keyboard. However, Genesis module crashes and SNES isn't so stable either. SNES is usable though.
I've so far found FPSCe for PS(x?), Pocketgnuboy for GBC and Morphgear for GBA..
But shouldnt TP2 be able to play games from DS and PSP platforms.. it at least has a better CPU?? or doesnt that have anything to do with it?

Please note, you need to emulate EVERYTHING from DS and PSP! Our beloved Pro2 isn't capable of that!
Simply try to play a GBA game with sound enabled and you know how many power such an emulation would need!
P.S.:
Have you tried PocketGBA for GBA games? Loved it on my old dead Diamond!

Just because it has a higher CPU speed, does not mean it should be able to process stuff from other platforms better.
All CPUs have different architectures. The CPU in the Touch Pro2 is an evolution of the ARM architecture. The DS also uses an ARM class processor, but uses a different instruction set.
The PSP uses a MIPS CPU.
Modern computers use variations of the x86 architecture.
The reason why they are called "Emulators" is because they have to emulate the instructions and architechture of the processor of the other device. This wastes a HELL of a lot of your own devices CPU cycles.
This is why running a PlayStation (33MHz MIPS CPU) emulator on a 500MHz x86 PC CPU is pretty slow, despite having 15x the CPU speed.
Does anybode here have a NES or/and SNES emulator, which one supports landscape modus ???
I am using an TP2
1.53 CRASHEs after i try to load the selected rom.
Thanks a lot !
After I have watched the following video, I found that TP2 is quite smooth for playing some games on emulator.

You can also try emulating PC (not just DOS). You can mount any ISO as CDROM drive, there is Windows95 image ready to use, so no need to install, just start it up and play with it.
I got it all to work, it's not very slow, sometimes I click on something and it opens in 1-2 seconds, so not bad.
Not something to install games and play, but something cool to show off and play with.
I managed to add NE2000 network card but couldn't get network to work yet.
Works well on Touch Pro2, including Landscape mode.
After you press F12, hardware keyboard Enter key works as mouse click (single and double click). F5 turns full screen on.
Instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3581848&postcount=258
P.S. There also is older MAC OSX image, loads pretty quickly under that emulator.
I think SNES emulator works...
you may try this..

psx is playstation one. FPSeCE will run playstation games on Windows Mobile. There is a new version that should be coming out soon I've been keeping an eye on this one.
www.fpsece.net
and how about a c64 emu for wvga?
the *morphgear* is a great emulator (nes,snes,mdrive,gboy,gboycolor....) to full screen mode u have to go in the config settings, tap the vgame u'll play(nes,snes....) and change de zoom 100% to window size. u have to change de driver to (auto to GDI) , in orientation stay in north. to config the inputs u have to tap your virtual keyboard and tap "other inputs method", if u don't to it u'll stock inthe config input method and the number 229 will appear in all buttons. thanks

FPSEce now working at all on HD2 ! NOOB in need of HELP!

Typo: Meant Not in the title not "now".
Hello fellow smart phone users,
I am new to the deal, would be safe to assume I know nothing. This should be fun for some of you ^.^"
I've got the HD2/Leo from T-Mobile UK and currently on the 1.43.110.2 rom
I have the 3.5 .NET Framework thing installed as per the intructions on the tips thread here. God knows if that has to do with anything.
But the problem is, when I start the FPSEce 0.10, the loader thing starts alright, then when I click on on fpsece010.exe as instructed on Pdf, all I get is a black screen for 1 sec, then back to where ever I was, the app simply doesn't exists in the task manager. Tried uninstalling FPSEce and installing it into the device memory instead duno if that helps, but still no good.
Am I missing something here ? Was there something I should;ve done in the installation process ? Didn't find a video on youtube which is really a N00b guide, all of them assume it works first.
Anyone with the same problem ??
Your help will be greatly appreciated !!!
PEACE^^
The Post is sinking into te abyss with no replies ... Help !!!!!
my advice is to wait for newer versions of fpse as the current 0.10 is still unplayable in my opinion. the control functions have not yet been configured for proper use with the HD2 screen.
im not sure if .net 3.5 is required for fpse but have you configured your device (device policies) to use .net 3.5 in the .net configurator
before some one starts flaming! yes i have tried it and got games to work but the current controls its just to cumbersome to play in my opinion!

my advice is to wait for newer versions of fpse as the current 0.10 is still unplayable in my opinion. the control functions have not yet been configured for proper use with the HD2 screen.
im not sure if .net 3.5 is required for fpse but have you configured your device (device policies) to use .net 3.5 in the .net configurator
before some one starts flaming! yes i have tried it and got games to work but the current controls its just to cumbersome to play in my opinion!

cheers for the reply,
But I have made the registry change so it uses 3.5 but no good ?
It simply won't start, any chance that it conflict with a specific app ?
Same problems and no answers
here same problem too
1. Do you have a PSX BIOS file in the BIOS folder?
2. Are you starting it from the FPSE icon in the start menu?
3. Do you have a PSX ISO ( game ) to load?
There is no reason to be clicking on fpsece010.exe since the Startmenu icon is handling this. With the correct BIOS installed you should see a request to select your ISO game file at startup.

The donation version works great with the HD2. Well worth the investment.
same here
i got supporter fpsece 0.10 version n still got same problem
if anyone needs bios files check the link below. I've been meaning to test this out so i got in touch with some of my old friends in the emulation scene and i have managed to obtain a quantity of of bios files of many different versions.
I knew all that time i spent playing mario, sonic and co on the pc as a teenager wouldn't be wasted.
I downloaded it and played around before doing the last T-Mo US update, but I could not get multi touch working at all. Until that works in the free version I will save my money. Otherwise it worked very well and I was pleased with the quality, but trying to race with only one button pressed at a time was not so fun

Didn't find a video on youtube which is really a N00b guide, all of them assume it works first.

you need to use a bios rom (i am using SCPH1001). copy this file to /Programs/FpseCE/BIOS, then launch fpsece. when the loader shows up, tap "cancel", the program should start and you should see the playstation animation and hear the sound. if this worked, exit fpsece by long-pressing the [X].
then start fpsece again, choose your playstation image in the loader.
if you own the supporter version, you should use the hd2 optimized pack.

You need the supporter version for multitouch. I would highly recommend spending the few dollars it costs to get that if you have the hd2.... its well worth it. This is one of the best programs out there for gamers.... you have the entire playstation library in the palm of your hands. You can even get a psx iso with a nes emulator and every nes game and it plays pretty well with fpsece. The multi-touch controls make a huge difference. Also with the supporter version you get realtime saving and g-sensor support. Well worth the measly 5euros it costs.
strange one here but isnt against forum rules to upload the bios here seen as you're not supposed to be able to get hold of one even though a quick google and you can find it

Thinking of buying a HTC shift

Hello i collect old phones like htc advantage and other winmo and nokia devices.
But the shift is still kinda expensive.
I have an oppurtunity to buy one for 100 euro.
Point is i like to play with those devices alot.
At the moment i am trying to get truevga and mods on the advantage.
But is the Shift still capable?
I mean 800mHz is quite underpowered. Will it play youtube at lets say 720p fullscreen?
I understand it isnt capable of full hd streamin.
And what about games.
i like to play older games anything from need for speed (up till underground so 1-6)
And emulators? especially n64 because its the heaviest one i am planning to use.
Its quite alot of money for such old device and on ebay i didnt find anything to compare the price with
so valuewise is it worth it? 100euro is like 115 dollar with todays course.
the device itself is practically unused but comes formatted so i have to install windows.
I do this alot on laptops and pcs. and i am also no stranger in flashing winmo and android so i dont expect to run into any problems if there is still support and i can find drivers and stufff
I hope some of my questions can be answered.
wow its really a low activity device
no one got any tips?
100 Euro is quite a good price. On eBay it's usually much more expensive.
One thing you have to keep in mind is the RAM size- you'll have to get a
214 pin 2GB to make Shift run nearly satisfying.
Like this one:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/2GB-DDR2-214...y-HTC-SHIFT-/190400263728?hash=item2c54bd7630
Unfortunately i have never found a 4GB RAM version.
Thx for reply
thats quite expensive for 2gb ram...
So can it run youtube...
i havent decided yet if i am gonna do it or not
it includes a dmg 01 gameboy.. so it makes it kinda tempting
i already have a broad collection of phones en pre tablet tablets
i will reply when i get it.
sooo i bought it.
Really nice device
didnt came with windows though
so i installed windows 7.
got the drivers working even with 5 year old threads here with dead links
Touchscreen is working
but wifi isnt. So i think the wifi was switched off in vista...
thats not my big issue it wasnt my plaaning to use the wifi because of the performance of this device.
So i will check that some other time.
What i do want to have solved is a bigger problem. I m trying to install some light games en emulators on there.
First up N64. Runs windowed. not great but playable but when i try to go fullscreen i get BSOD. 2times in a row and then windows wouldnt start so i had to run the startup repair. Now its working again. Just not in fullscreen...
Other problem is with retro city rampage this game isnt even 3d.
it seems to start but the moment it switches to fullscreen i get the BSOD instantly...
Is this a driver problem? i recall i have read somewhere that u shoudlnt update the intel gma driver but i could not find this post. and i dont know if i have done this or not i would need version numbers...
Maybe im 2years late ;P but i hope someone will know the answer.
in the meantime i have a GB DMG01 to play with and mod.
Is it such a legacy device that no one uses it anymore?
I have a Shift and I found Vista to be unusable compared to Ubuntu Hardy (8.04). I've heard better things about Win7 and even Win10, but at the end of the day, the machine has its hardware limits and at least for me, that precluded even Vista.
Hardy , through pof's magic, allows everything to run, even the 3G (if you have the SIM), and it's quite zippy. I don't game, but perhaps ubuntu (circa 2008) has enough games available. Of course, you could run Wine, but that can be a can of worms for certain MS software.
Though I run MS Word 97, HanDBase, and a couple of other MS apps without problem in Hardy.
Prolly best to stay away from heavy graphics. Maybe Leisure Suit Larry
Jake
I fixed the BSOD problem by reinstalling windows 7 and NOT installed the gpu driver update.
It runs like a breeze
GTA3 and vice city i can play on low settings but no lagg at al!
And the n64 emulator i get 60fps in fullscreen.
I would recommmend 7 to anyone with this device.
Only the wifi is not working because it was turned off in vista and i read its a hell of alot of work to turn it on without vista.
problem is i bought it without windows so i couldnt turn it on.
But its better for me saves alot off battery
This is pof's htc shift panel for Windows that controls wifi/bt/etc. I don't know if it works in Win7, but you can research to see if it's what you want before actually trying it out.

Hey man thx for the tip
will try this when i get home from work.
ill report later
Ok wow
i need some program called cygwin
if i try to open it i get cygwin1.dll is missing
so im working on it
i found the program wil install it tonite and report back
Excellent. I'll be glad to hear that it works.
Jake
Hmm cygwin installed without any problems.
But now it asks for cygioperm-0.dll when i try to launch it.
i need to install ioperm says the readme but it seems i cant find it...
This is some kind of addon right?
Huh, dunno what those files are. Here are the Vista drivers, etc:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BzqfCViUrpr6UkVkY2lTLUIxSGs&usp=sharing
For Vista, the shagctrl program does wifi/bt/etc. you could try installing that and see if that gives you the missing .dlls/etc. It may run on its own, I just don't know. I have Vista on a partition, the shagctrl works, but I never use Vista/Windows.
Jake
shagctrl doesnt work in windows 7
only for resolution siwtch.
i got the hsect from this google drive page u gave me.
its same same download i found.
but this is in the readme.
HTC Shift Embedded Controller Toolkit

============================================
To build from source:
LINUX with GTK libraries:
# make gtk
LINUX without GTK libraries:
# make nogtk
WINDOWS with GTK libraries:
# make win32gtk
WINDOWS without GTK libraries:
# make win32
WINDOWS NOTES:
The windows version needs CYGWIN (http://cygwin.com) with "ioperm" support.
Open a cygwin shell and run "ioperm -i" to install the ioperm.sys driver.
when i type ioperm-i it doesnt recognize it as a legal command...
i am gonna try it tonite if i connect it to the internet with cable.
But otherwise i think i skipped a step somewhere.... will let u know.
I just run windows for the games.
its a pretty capable device for its specs.
GTA3 without problems.
Carmageddon tdr 2000
n64
all runs perfect
If you can't rebuild it, I suppose you could get a Hardy 8.04.1 (no higher) livecd, repartition and dual boot with Hardy (with pof's shagctrl) and Windows.
I don't believe you can install pof's shag with a livecd only (pof calls for a reboot), though MAYBE, you could install shag and only switch on wifi/bt without a reboot, I dunno.
Hardy is certainly snappier than Windows, but your needs don't seem to match what Hardy can do. Though dual booting is always cool.
Jake
Haha XD that is an option indeed.
But if i switch wifi on once i wouldnt be able to turn it off in windows right?
I want to preserve battery power whenever is necessary.
When i installed cygwin i noticed i could choose any packages and addons tobe installed
maybe i reinstall cygwin first and i can find this ioperm addon
Once wifi was turned on, I think you could disable its driver in Windows in the systray.
Ok i wil look into that.
First i keep trying to find ioperm for cygwin and how to add it
now when i open hsect it says cygwinioperm1.dll missing not exactly but close.
I dont get the option when i reintall cygwin. Also there isnt really a uninstall button... not in control panel not in the root folder.
