I need some help with S2U2 V1.52 on HTC Touch HD (Standard Rom).
First some background: I use Conduits Pocket Player to listen to audio books, I have set Pocket Player to turn the screen off after a few seconds. With the screen off, I can continue to listen to my Audio and can control pause/rewind with the volume up and down buttons. After another length of time I have set pocket Player to stop playing thus letting my Touch HD and myself to go to sleep.
The Problem is this: When Pocket Player turns the screen off, S2U2 V1.52 locks my device. The audio still plays, but pause/rewind buttons are disabled
This was not the case with the previous version of S2U2 V1.42 where S2U2 would only kick in once Pocket Player had stopped playing and my device had gone to sleep.
Can anybody help me to achieve this with version 1.52?
P.S. I have added Pocket Player to the exception list in the registory but this will never lock the device while Pocket Player is running (Which it will be after it and the device has gone to sleep).

Does anyone know of a Windows Media Player plugin for the today screen that works with version 10 of WMP. THe PHM plugin doesn't work with 10. Also I tried other programs like pocket music but they have bad integration with the operating system and voice command.

Thanks- I installed the .CAb but the today plugin only says "Play media files"- is it supposed to have controls- like Play, Stop , Next etc...
The Today Screen plugin opens WMP 10 with a IPOD Screen and on the screen, on the sides you have BIG controls that you can use .

very simple no control on what to play. just play/pause next/prev and vol up/down it would be nice if we could atleast select a folder or playlist. everytime i start it, it plays my WMA tones! hahaha o well.

Why don't you give mortplayer a try, the today plugin for is is great
I have to say that anything that's not WMP just isn't good for the pocket pc (in my opinion) because of the lack of integration with the OS. For example, when I get a call it stops my music, then when i'm finished it resumes playing. As far as I know only WMP does this. Also, all the other players are too fancy for me- I don't need all those controls- just Play,Pause, Volume, and Next/previous track.
Although- does anyone know how to map other buttons. When I try to map other buttons besides the 5 "joystick" buttons it goes to that function. For example, if I choose mute and press "assign" and then press the contacts button- it switches me to my contacts. Same thing for my camera, phone, calander etc...
Any ideas??

ps- I love the iPod skin too!! I got it a while ago and can't find it anymore due to copyright issues. Good thing I saved it on my HD!

Version 3.71 won't launch.
Subsequently, Conduits Pocket Player 2.61 will launch, but the playback is so slow and jittery, it either must be a dog on the processor, or this is where the limitation of the OMAP processor is revealed. Ouch.
uninstalled pocket music, but found files are still looking for it, may not have completely gone?

Don't bother with iMusic, i was told it screws up the ringtone capability.

i had a similar problem with pocket music with my old pda, and what helped was not to let the "auto associate files types" run during the install.
New Pocketmusic for WM5 out soon!

sorry to reply to myself, but you can set imusic to be able to turn off the display, and of course you can remove hard button controls.

Pocket Music Not Working - NOW FIXED apart from EQ Fader
I upgraded my old o2 XDA 11s FW to I-Mate latest (in sig) I have to run PocketMusic from Program Files, dosnt show up in Programs list, AND cant switch WINAMP SKINS, what ever folder I put them in PMSKINS and SKINS
which makes me very unhappy! :x

SOLUTION, just downloaded the 3.71 .exe from location 2, ran it, works with skins but GRAPHIC EQUALISER not holding fader positions, any ideas?

Sure you can - you can assign it to a button within Windows Media Player's options.
The downside to it is that it doesn't even support soft keys! WTF?!

Hi, I just bought a HTC P3600 (S300+) everything works fine so far. My question is: can it be possible to turn off the screen while windows media player is playing some mp3s, I’m kind of new with this device, I looked on the wmp options and at the system setting but I didn’t find anything, i thing it’s useless to have the screen turned on using the battery if you are listen some music and the device is in your pocket!

Just try another program like Mortplayer or GsPlayer. They all seem to support this feature...
You could use Xbar and assign turn off screen to a button.

Great WMP tip!
Not many keys are available to be assigned (beside directional pad) but I just figured out I could use "HOLD down" and "HOLD up" as key assignments.
Maybe Im the only one to miss that !?

i also tryed the GsPlayer and Mortplayer, they work fine, the probleme is that i sync my music with wmp on my pc and all music is reencoded in .wma (it's not so bad i can save place when my mp3 are supirior to 160kbps) maby i try another way to sync so i can use GsPlayer cz it look fine.

I am wondering of anyone on here knows of a plugin or app that shows what WMP is playing on the today screen. This would be handy as I often play music in the background but i would like what is playing and the remaining track time displayed. Also if that information was a link to reopen WMP that would be great! Any thoughts? I'm suprised WinMo doesn't do this anyway.

No that doesn't help. I barely use the Panel's the today screen is what I want to use. Any advice?
Serach Google for Spb ToPlay. It's no longer officially available from SPB but you can find it outsourced. It can block your phone however when you first use it, but for me it worked after a softreset. Also includes controls for WMP.
this is in windows 6.5!
if you flash roms,then try itje's 6.5 rom, the new today screen (titanium) has a music section where you can browse through music, click once to play, click again to pause, and swipe left of right to browse songs, it automatically opens wmp in the background and the right soft button opens it.
imo titanium for 6.5 is a big step forward!
I know Windows Media Player has a Toggle Screen Off option, but it's difficult to assign a button to it when the SIP keeps disappearing when it asks you for the key you want to assign

I use this player since i have a win-mobile-phone. I use it with a bluetooth headset (headphone). The only thing you must do ist installing a little tool to remap the headset-buttons. If you do not, the headset-buttons will start the media-player or use the htc-manila-player.

My Windows 6.5 Stock rom turns the screen off automatically when listening to music, and doesn't stop it. (It used to in 6.5) - I can't turn the screen off myself or it does stop the music.
Dutty's ROMs get this right. very stable, very fast,
Nitrogen is a very good finger friendly audio player, that works also with the display swiched off

yes, you can. at least in MOST ROMs. some chefs didnt get this right (Dutty's older ROMs for example would by default use the Windows Media Player and would have problems with playing music while the screen was off.)
However, i am using Dutty's HG R1 and i can play music (and skip tracks, change volume, etc) while in sleep mode.
i hope that's clear enough?
I'm gonna have to bump this topic back.
I'm using Dutty's holy grail r6 rom and everytime i click the power to sleep while music is playing from HTC's music player, it stops.
How do i fix this?
I use the same Rom and the HTC player. If i push the start button on top of the phone, the music stops, but if you let the phone go to sleep by it self, then the music continue after the screen is off.
