Free optimization, privacy and cleaning tool - XPERIA X1 General

I currently use CCleaner on my PC and was wondering if there is a similar product out there for Windows Mobile as CCleaner isn't available for a phone...
Cheers

SkTools
The only one I know of is Sk Tools, which also does a lot more. Not free but certainly worth the cost.
You can get the Lite version from their site, don't know if it still does the things you need.
Otherwise I'd recommend buying it...or find a "specially extended trial version."
Edit: According to the feature list the Lite version should do exactly what you need.

ClearTemp is freeware and does pocketpc and smartphones

Also the Pocket PC version (which is newer)

How the hell do I De-cert my XDA2

Sorry if this gets asked all the time guys, have scoured your excellent forum for info but to no avail.
My ignorance is due to being an ex smartphone owner, which i am sure you know are easy to de-cert.
I just want to chuck a load of games and non-approved utils onto my XDA, but DAMMIT, it won't fookin let me
Cracking forum by the way guys, has taken me ages to find you!
Mart
Never touched a smart phone. I've never heard of "de-cert." What is it? Doesn't sound like something that needs to be done on the XDA, certainly I've never seen it said here, and I've been around since the dinosaur ages.
It allows non valid windows CE applications to be installed - i.e. not officially approved software
I've never heard of an officially-approved piece of software for a Pocket PC. I don't think there is a certification program for that. In any case, your PPC will let you install any PPC software, approved or not, whatever, it won't care.
Excellent, however I keep getting
"filename" is not a valid windows CE setup file.
Am I being stupid here, installing in the wrong way?
I have only seen that error when I tried running the wrong version (not for Pocket PC) on my unit.
Might want to make sure the app is for Pocket PC and that the cpu type is correct.
Cheers - most of my smartphone software must be incompatible then, even though the spv uses a version of PPC.
Any site recommendations where I can get hold of PPC software for free? seems to be damn expensive in most places!
Thanks again
Smartphone software IS certified... Basically, you pay Microsoft to be able to have your software run on smartphones.
Regular pocket PC or windows mobile on xda devices does NOT have this restriction (and those devices are what this forum is about..)
Smartphone software is not PPC-compatible. Lots of titles have releases for both PPC and Smatphone, but I've never seen one that has both in the same release (though I suppose you could package multiple versions with one installer).
In any case, go to the developers' sites and see if they have PPC compatible versions.

Not true, some Smartphone software is certified but not all. There are many applications available for MS Smartphone that can only run on application unlocked handsets. Not all authors can afford to apply for certification and for many utils it's hardly worth the bother. Thankfully for most of the existing handsets it is relatively easy to application unlock them so that uncertified apps can be installed.
And going back to the OP's question, Smartphone software is not the same as PocketPC software and whilst a few rare titles can be run on both, most cannot.
www.freewareppc.com
has loads of goodies on there.
Smartphone software wise - I am not sure but I think I saw an emulator for PPC at one point - could not find it though - does anybody know if this exists as there is some good programs for smartphone that have no PPC equal???

Program to "free memory?"

I once saw a post somewhere regarding a program that has a function that simply clears temp files & dlls that suck memory, but after I ran a search, couldn't find the post in question. A little help, anyone?
Here you go: http://www.oxios.com/memory/
SK Tools
The only program I know of, is the latest version of SK Tools, which includes another small program called FreeUp RAM.
It does what it says with a simple click, pretty much like Oxios on the smartphone.
(By the way, are you sure that Oxios is compatible with Pocket PC ?)

SPV M600 - WM5 Software

Im after a piece of software that is similar to Microsoft Money for my mobile device. Ive seen loads of stuff on Handango but I was wondering if anybody has any experience with these;
SPB Finance 2.6
Mastersoft Money V6
Cash Organiser 05 Premium
Alternatively if anyone could recommend one they are using currently
I know this is more of a tech site but im struggling to find any recommendations on other site I use, AVFORUMS. What other sites can I use to get recommendations?
Thanks in advance for any help. Ive had my M600 for about 2 months now and just got the hang of it. I want my first bit of software !!
Also heard great things about Wisbar Deluxe but not sure about it. Is it that good?
Most software can be downloaded for Trial, I can only advise you to test the programs yourself. Since it's very personal what is "the best" program.
Wisbar really looks great but for me it's slowing down my device to much. It's not very slow, but I wan't my device to response as fast as possible
Hi,
I have used SBP Finance and Cash Organizer. The problem with both of the softwares is that they can give you problems if you hard reset your device very often. The problem I am referring to is multiplication of records that you would have to manually remove. Overall I like SPB Finance better than Cash Organizer as its more user friendly.
This month's PDA Essentials (look in WH Smith) has a cover CD with a finance management tool included for free.

Cleanup and maintenance tools

Ive been looking at some of the progs out there to keep Tytn running smooth, but i just cant decide which one to buy! So far ive tried MemMaid, SKTools and Pocket mechanic, all of which seem to do slightly different things. Anyone use these tools? Which would be the best all rounder? Should i even bother?
Cheers!
I own both memmaid and pocket mechanic and I use both as they have certain advantages over each other. i'd say get both as they're essential apps for clearing up any junk that accumulates!
Hi, I have used memmaid, sktools..etc, but really if you just want a simple solution to clean temp files, Cleartemp by Vicsoft is a good, and its free, it also cleans dead regisrty entries, but it isn't as thurough as sktools or memmaid.
If you're going to buy just one, I would suggest sktools, memmaid in my opinion is pretty much useless, as it doesn't do a whole lot more for wm5 than most of the free utilities.
I am extremely happy with SK Tools. I like the auto clean and free up ram functions.

Antivirus packages

Do we need an Antivirus Package on the device when running WM6?
And if we do, what is the best one?
Thanx!
Noone does need an antivirus package on PPC.
If you think you should use one, that does mean that symantec advertising campaign was good
I used trend on wm5 coz i got it by my job...
but not tried yet on wm6... will do, but think its not necessary yet
How would one get a virus on Windows Mobile? You'd have to download and run an executable to do it. Either that, or get exploited over a network via a security hole, or through Pocket IE. There haven't been many exploits that I've heard of.
I doubt it's worth the processor time to run one.
