Suddenly my elf gone crazy :X
The phone started thinking by his own. I solve the problem with the 'Clear Storage' option in the settings.
(I was unable to perform Hard Reset because my buttons refused to work).
OK, now all is back to function normaly except the buttons still isn't working (except the power button).
Some one knows what should I do?
up!
I tried to update my rom to higher version (WM6.1)
works fine, but the buttons still doesn't work :/
Someone? Please?

Hi,
I've a Qtek S110. Last saturday it did a hard reset, while it was in my pocket.
Now the up, left and enter (middle) buttons of the navigation stopped working. down and right work as usual.
I tried..
- install the latest usable roms (1.12.00 WWE / R1.13.00 / E1.12.550WWE).
- searching the register
It may be a hardware issue, but further its working as usual.
Is there a way to solve this? should i try to open it and clean the button contacts (if there are any?)
It could be that during the hard reset those buttons were pushed, since it was in my pocket. Than it is a software issue right?
Anybody any light on this issue?
A ROM update is followed by a hard reset which should clear out anything software related.
I only had the back cover removed so I dunno whether further opening the front would help. :?:
Well it could be a software issue.
There are also problems with hard resetting and sound, if the earphone is plugged in (search for no sound).
Then the device 'remembers' the status of the earphone not correct. So maybe the buttons were pressed during hard reset, and the device remebers the button status?? just guessing...
wtf?! They all worked fine an hour ago (power, camera, talk, softkeys, messages...) and now they don't. It isn't a hardware issue because when it goes into standby, I can press the power button to bring it out of standby. Now though, I can't open anything using their respective keys and can't power it off. Anyone have any issues like this? I hadn't installed anything or even been using the phone from the time they worked to the time they stoped working.
Try opening settings -> buttons ->lock and click in "dont lock keys"
Had similar problems that now for some reason went away.

Unfortunately, I tried that and it didn't fix it. It's so odd that the Comm Manager button works when the phone is on and that the power button will work to turn it on or to wake it up. Are there places in the registry that control what the buttons do? Maybe I need to reset this thing? I love this phone when it isn't locking or acting up.
So I reset the phone to it's factory settings. After I went through the calibration and setup, the keys still weren't working. Before I did the reset, I did notice the keyboard keys weren't working either . So after the reset, the buttons still weren't working. I kept just typing stuff in on the keyboard with Word open and it finally started working...all buttons are still working now, but I don't trust it much. Should I bring it in to Cingular to get a new one? I'm still within my 30 days
Yes. If you can get a new one do it. do it.
Hi All,
I have a strange problem, tried to search the forum,
without success...
Sometimes the OK button doesn't response (both OK buttons...),
only clicking OK on the screen works.
another issue - sometimes when clicking the action button nothing happens, or even worse - it acts like a long press even when I press it really shortly...
Any one else had such problems?
Is it (as I guess) a hardware problem?
I have the same problem and I dont think its the hardware cause the button is not presented in "buttonmapping" in the controlpanel. This has worked before. Please respond if you solve the problem.
Mine does it on occasion. Pretty sure it's software and It seems to happen with the same apps each time. Make note of what apps you have running when it happens.
Just started doing it again but I realized that I have never had a prob with the OK or Start Menu buttons but rather the softkeys. In Today Agenda, the left key (edit) stopped working and then a few minutes later the right key (menu) stopped working. I closed all apps and the problem persisted with every appointment I opened. Soft reset fixed it.
I should also add that I am not using the latest version of Today Agenda because I have not figured out how to make it look like the version I am used to.
Might be related: a lot of games I have tried don't seem to support the softbuttons, phone buttons, or really much else besides the directional pad and center select button.
hello ive searched everywhere is there an app or tweak for hd2 im annoyed that when on a call i keep pressing the on screen buttons is there anything i can do to stop this thanks..
The light sensor on the HD2 should turn the screen off automatically so that you don't press anything. That being said maybe you have a problem with your sensor so make sure it works, if it doesn't then try flashing another rom or call HTC.
Hope this helps.
master reset

you try a master reset befor you anything bigger in your phone, sometimes is always very easy but since you can't find it just do a master reset.
start,-settings-security-factory reset hope this work
same problem here, hard reset didn't change anything.
maybe you want to try this (stops working after soft reset, until i re-install) or this (also doesn't work right for me).
maybe one of theses two works for you.
the last option would be to go to \Windows\Lockscreen and rename the "LS_PhoneCallScene_480x800.cpr" (brings back the default wm 6.5 lockscreen) and then lock the device (windows button --> lock) on each call.
This app can help you.

so I just noticed the lights for my hardware buttons are stuck on, happens from the moment the phone turns on, and nothing changes it (though they seem to dim slightly) I've tried reflashing the phone (using mdj cyanogen 2.7, nand with magldr 1.12)
I tried searching and havent seen anything like this. Only thing I can think is maybe it got a little wet(?) while I was recording video during a snow storm here, but nothing else seemed wrong, just got home and noticed it. Any ideas?
I have the exact same problem. I've flashed back to the original windows mobile rom and the problem is still there! I've searched and yet to find the solution. Anyone got any ideas?
Check to see if you have a voicemail - you may have read it but closed VM before listening to all the message, it can on occasions do this - it I'm right just ring your phone leave a fresh VM then go into VM and listen to the whole message
Thanks for the reply, but no dice on this one. I tried the voicemail thing and I have no voicemails.
To clarify it's the bottom 5 buttons (call, home, windows, back and power) that are constantly lit up. Even when the phone goes on standby those buttons stay lit. I'm looking to see if there's an app that can just shut them off.
I got the same problem. My hd2 got some water on it and the problem started. The hardware keys now getting dim but not getting completely off. There is no other problem
Please help.
same problem on my father htc click

Thanks, I will try the rom.
But do u really think its a rom problem ? The keys light were working fine before the water hazard in the same existing rom. Besides the problem is also there when u are in the boot menu of MAGLDR or Clockwork menu.
any updates from anyone? On miy HD2 the vol up, start, back & end call key don't respond to any presses but seem to be active. Calls will randomly end, vol up acts as if the button is kept pressed!
Help!
Hi guys,
A little bump in this thread, but is there already found a solution for this problem?
After a hard reset and replacing the digitizer of my htc HD2, the buttonlights remain on. Even when the phone gets in standby mode.
I'm using cyanogenmod 7. (bought it like this. Didn't put android on it myself)
After the hard reset and digitizer replacement there also came another problem.
When pushing the windows logo (key 158) the volume up button also reacts (key 115). Thesame problem occurs when pushing the dial button. With that key (231), key 114 (volume down) reacts.
So when i want to open a menu or make a call the volume goes up or down.
Do you guys think I screwed something up when replacing my digitizer or is it just an software issue caused by the hard reset?
All right guys, it was an hardware failure.
I reopened my htc and checked all the connectors and (re)placed some of the yellow tape. After the reassembly, my phone just works as it should. All problems are solved.
My HTC HD2 also got the keys stuck after only a week of use. T-Mobile is sending me a replacement phone today.
Is this a common problem? I'm afraid it may happen again.
Hey guys I'm having same issue. Going to try opening up and check connectors.
