Hulu on xperia - XPERIA X1 General

For those who dont know Hulu is this awesome new webpage that lets u watch free, real shows streaming to ur pcs. My question is , is there any way to get the video to stream to coreplayer or youtube player , or anyother streaming programs we have on our xperia. that would bring our xperias up like a whole new level of usability. I rember back in the days before youtube application, there was a hack to catch clicks on the webpages and redirect them to core player or tcpmp. im hopeing someone knows how to do this. im itching to make this a real iphone ass kicker

Well Hulu is far from new It's just now catching on because of it's added TV shows. There has been talk about Hulu moving to mobiles, but that was almost a year ago and nothing has come of it. I think Skyfire might work though, not sure. I'll try it later today and get back to you.

the only thing is skyfire isnt vga compatiable. its just streched out qvga
thats why i wanted to see if we could do something to get it to play on tcpmp or other streaming programs

You can try PIE6 it should support flash and is vga and wvga compatible.

Watching Hulu on a pocket pc would be just about the most amazing thing ever.
Im sure the iphone will get it first though.
Just like Pandora.

Watching the NCAA Tourney On My Phone...Possible?

It's March Madness time and my company WebSense's our network and will have this blocked out. Is there a way to watch the games on our phones streaming the feed from the NCAA/CBS? They have a service for this in place, i just have no idea what I need to use for my Titan
possibly CBSsportsline.com and sign up for OnDemand (it's free), then use your Skyfire browser
would Opera be able to handle it?
does it allow imbedded video like Skyfire?
I watch the games on my phone with my slingbox.
I use my Slingbox as well.
You could also try MobiTV.
This is one of the times during the year when SlingBox shines. I find the Skyfire embedded flash-video to be quirky/flaky. IMHO.
Ah, March Madness. There was a great post about this on WMExperts, over here
I'm using MobiTV Right now (watching ESPN Mobile TV) with a mix of the the webpages. I want to check out the Zumobi offering for March Madness. However, Slingbox is probably by FAR the best option available. Too bad I don't have a Slingbox
The webiste from the NCAA requires Windows Media Player - but when I log in with Opera Mobile 8.65 - it tells me I'm missing the Windows Media Player plugin - and oddly directs me to where I can download the Firefox plugin....
I tried in PIE, and it just crshes on the site.....
Anyone try NetFront ?
(Wishes he had Skyfire or an Opera 9.5 beta...)
FWIW it is currently working pretty good using skyfire, although Ive had trouble getting into skyfire today. The video is somewhat laggy, but overall its pretty good. Not as good as my sling though.
I also tethered a bit and used my Asus EEE in combo with slingbox and it works GREAT!
Go Vols!
i use orb to watch live and recorded TV on my tilt.... i did it on my wizard with EDGE also....
you need a tv tuner card.... i 4
http://orb.com/
This is a no brainer Slingbox by far.. I mean you shouldn't even use Skyfire in the same sentence as Slingbox when it comes to watching TV.
Chalk another one for the slingbox. I'm using it on edge and as long as I got 3 or 4 bars I get a smooth pic.
grr, you dont need sling box, i watch live tv, recorded TV and anyother media on my home PC on my kaiser with ORB.
you can get a $40 tv tuner card and your done...

Videos - Streaming, Playing - ARGH!

okay - I could pretty much stream a full size DIVX thanks to EVDO Rev a - HOWEVER, here is my problem.
I go to any of the windows mobile video sites (I'm using the most recent DCD rom) and try to load it up. Pops up Windows Media player and then proceeds to.............. chug along.
I can't get a clean, stable streamed video. Not only that, but I can't seem to find ANY sites that have news/tv/blah - AT ALL.
Maybe I'm searching wrong - Maybe the sites I'm going to are slow as snot, who knows.
I do know that TCPMP works great for Divx, just tested that out, but I have unlimited internet, a connection that's faster than most people's home internet.... and, well - I CAN NOT USE IT!
Please help me utilize the super fast speeds of my phone so I can feel the glee when I see 800+ megs of usage
Tanks!

Also interested. Im tired of seeing just 25mb daily. I want MOAR!!

I use TCPMP along with the flashvideo bundle to watch mostly youtube videos ( or sites compatible with the flashvideo bundle )
But I recently bought the successor to TCPMP Core Player I use this to view videos from websites that are not supported with the Flash Video Bundle & TCPMP, movies, some You Tube Videos, and more.
Plus It has other great features. (Just a second option )
Take a look for your self: http://coreplayer.com/content/view/28/45/

Newbie: what is best video format to rip DVD's to for the x7510?

I just got an Advantage x7510, and am absolutely thrilled to bits with it - beautiful screen, something you can do something with, like the Psions of old!!!
I would like to watch some DVD's on it, but being completely new to ripping etc. don't know what format to rip to, what size and so on. I tried to rip a 30 minute DVD to .wmv, but was appalled at the slowness thru the native Windows Media app. Someone suggested I get Coreplayer, which is better, but I think I need a steer on how to do the ripping for the best. What would show best, with best lip-sync and fewest dropped frames, and acceptable quality?
Can someone point me in the right direction? Your help would be much appreciated.
thanks

AVI is the best with Smart Movie
I tested almost media softwares for video in my X7501, and i found sth here.
BAD video players:
- Core player
- Windows media player (worst)
- TCPMP
And all of them got the same issue: flash screen and not smooth.
Then I try Smart Movie, WOW, i can watch movie in my X7501 as a champ.
And u only need software to convert to AVI file
DOESN't MAtter what size of the frame and file, it works perfectly.
( I watch Jackie Chan movie with the file is about 400mb, nothing wrong, so nice)
enjoy
thanks for the suggestion vqscorpions, I have just downloaded a trial.
One point straightaway is that I don't like the look of their licensing - it seems to be one licence per device, whereas I use several devices, not of course simultaneously, and like to load my software on to all of them, to use when I have that particular device with me.
However, if the software works, I may just have to swallow my pride and fork out for it.
thanks again for your time
rjstep3
i have the full file with license and also the converter for Smart movie.
if u like it, i will upload here
enjoy
PS: I just have Crystal softcase for Athena. cheer
Excellent. I'de like to give it a try.
I have found that nothing works, not Lonely Cats or anything else. the lip sync is awful, the video jerky and generally not a pleasant experience.
What I take from this is that Windows Mobile is basically not a video media friendly OS - works fine with audio, not with video. For that I think you need a dedicated laptop/gadget.
rjstep3
i really feel curious that yr x7510 can not work with it.
actually it has the same hardwares but may be it uses another OS.
however, which version of Smart movie u use? which converter software u use? and how about the settings for the file
(to be honest, the movie that i use usually is more than 300mb and Smart movie works well)
I have tried the most basic settings, but it depends on what you mean by acceptable. I expect decent image, good soound, no skips at all, and perfect lipsync. On no WM device can I get this, but if I am prepared to compromise, then I concede that the Touch HD can deliver nearly to my exacting standards.
My conclusion is that, if I really want video on the go, watch it on laptop - better/larger image, near perfect rendering. use the WM gadget for audio only.

Just 3 questions...?

Hi, i'm kinda new on this forum, but i'm reading along for quit sum time now.
Got three question about apps for my diamond.
120FPS filming:
My previous phone was a LG Viewty(crappy phone), and it had the possibility the film at 120 FPS, and me and my friends had alot of laughs with stupid slo-mo movies. Is there anyway i can do this with the Diamond as well?
Photo-Editing:
Is there any software around for editting foto's on the diamond. Like photoshop, but less advanced. Cuz i thought with WinMobile the possibilities woudl be endless, but i'm kinda dissapointed. Thought there would be more cool programs for it.
Streaming Audio with Wi-Fi:
I want to listen to streaming audio with Wi-Fi, and not with the normal GPRS? internet. WMPlayer doesn't stream anything, and is kind of a crappy player overal. Example sites are www.realhardstyleradio.nl/webplayer/ & www.happyhardcore.com/radio/.
Tnx in advance...
i can help with 2
for photo editing i know resco photo viwer can do pic editing (i am sure there are others as well)
streaming over wifi try core player or the freeware version called TCPMP
i listen to net radio and it works fine over both wifi and data. i use www.di.fm
Anyone else?
IS there anyway i can use WMP for streaming audi, cus TCMP is a really ugly program?

Online Movie Streaming.

Ive used search and aint find anything that had to do with this topic. If this topic has been created already please guide me to the right place. Im fully aware that flash player beta is coming out next month. And im also aware that there's an app called LukLuk in the market that does this. Now here is my question. LukLuk dont seem to work for me it keeps force closing everytime i try and load up the movie list. Im wondering if there are any sites out there to where you can stream movies from? Converting movies into mp4 format and then loading it up to our SD card takes to long. And even when we do get flash player, what sites will we be using to stream movies from? so what sites do you guys use? i have a rooted phone and also aware that the HERO ROM already comes with a flash player, but im not using hero because its very laggy. so brings me back to the same question... what sites can i go to, to stream movies from online? Thank you to anyone who will help me.

I dont know of any movie sites that'll work on the g1...believe me, i've searched...but there is an app called jetflicks that streams tv shows...only it's kinda expensive and it'll be a subscription service by October...there's also a program called doubletwist that'll easily convert any movies you might have on your pc to a format that's viewable on the g1...the good thing about this program other than it's free, is that it automatically detects whatever mobile device you have, no messing around with settings or whatever...hope i helped a little bit...but hey, if you do find a movie website compatible with the g1, hook me up, will you?
I dont think their are any that are worthwhile now.
g1 cant play flash videos unless its running a hero build

What's included in this build?
I'm pleased to announce that this newer build is much, much better than the old beta I had made before (and that had been understandably ignored by pretty much everyone) here's what works:
-Flash Player. Yay!!!!. A build under 87 MB (original build, 89 MB with rev1) with full flash support, both in the browser and as streaming video. It's a resoruce hog, though, so use with care (you can disable plugins in the browser settings to deal with this)

Are you sure. from what im reading i was led to believe browser video works
Good luck finding a site, as soon as one gets popular it's host will shut it down or they'll recieve a C&D. If you do find one don't expect it to stick around for longer than a month. Just use Handbrake or Media Coder to convert your videos.

I wouldn't get cocky if you don't know what you're talking about ;-) ...I've seen videos of Hero's playing youtube videos, and surely Hero's would use the same version of flash as those in our builds...

I tested it out for a full 24hr's and returned it the next day because i realized how much i hated WinMO lol. but im really thinking about going back to it. lol

Just like others said don't get to cocky. Not all videos are in flash 10.
I know back before we even had cupcake I was able to go to nbc.com and watch tv shows.
some people have had success with orb but most can't get it to stream over 3g/edge.
I'm going to try tonight to see what I can get. If I can get it streaming video I'm buying a tv turner for the computer. It would be nice if I could just stream the videos I already have on my pc though.

I've also read that gmote could do it as well, I just wanted to try orb first because I already had it installed on my computer at home. I didn't have a lot of time to play with it so I had the same results as most people. Could stream via wifi with no issues, but wouldn't work over 3G. Hopefully this weekend I can play with forwarding some ports on my router or try gmote and get one of them to work.

I don't know about the OP, but i'm looking for an app that will allow me to stream video from my computer.
That being said I tried LukLuk out and it looks like it could be a great time waster but it keeps force closing on me as soon as I try to login. I can use Trial, but that only gets you trailers.
dont bother with orb you have to be in front of your computer to set up a stream and when it stops you have to start it from your pc again
Tried out gmote last night... and it can stream from your computer, but only jpeg, mp3, mp4, and some others... Can't do divx, or avi.. so not what I am looking for...

This was my experience as well - although Orb worked very well, it would occasionally stop on the PC end. I used LogMeIn to remote desktop into my pc from my HTC Mogul to restart it, but I got sick of doing this and decided not to use Orb when I switched to my HTC Touch Pro.
