hey guys
well i did a mistake by removing the original screen protector. When I removed it, it left alot of residue, so i had to clean it with alot rubbing alcohol.
When i turned the device on i found 2 big illuminating spots on the left and right corners. Does that mean dead pixels or something else?
Is there a way to fix it. Please advice. I tried to rub the areas gently did not work.
Sounds like the symptoms of pressure damage on the screen.
Can you post a picture?

Go into the bathroom, close the door and turn on a hot shower. once the room gets nice and steamy (give it some time) clean your screen with your micro fiber cloth. When you take the protective coating off of the back keep it as face down as possible so any remaining particles in the air do not stick to it ( the steam from the shower clears the dust from the air). Apply to your tab, work out the bubbles, ENJOY!

Put some tape around your finger (sticky side facing outwards). Lift up the screen protector carefully (perhaps in the washroom with hot water running, or another dustfree environment) and use your taped finger to tap the sticky side of the protector where the hairs/dust particles are (sort of like removing lint from clothing). I don't have long nor thin nails, so I used a razor blade to lift up my screen protector. Very carefully, though.
I would advise rolling up your sleeves, washing your hands, etc. so that the chance of dust re-entering the bottom side is minimized. I've done this many times and I just do it normally in my room without any special preparation, but it takes a very long time because every time I use the tape to remove a few dust particles, new ones get trapped under. Eventually, it's just a game of chance to see if I can remove all the dust particles without having any new ones >_>
Thanks

Thanks, hope it works , tried the tape but there are some that just won't budge, oh well $20 down the drain. hope it works, it not , read above.
edit : removed the already applied protector with steamy shower running and used sticky tape to remove dust, went well, no dust particles under screen it now several areas sseem folded, as in that there's no way to use tape or pressure to get rid of it, too saccades to try to bend back, any ideas?
Not sure if I should post this here or someplace like XDA->General, but here goes.....I replaced the glass and digitizer on my G2 and while it works great and looks just fine, in the dark last night I can see clear light bleed from the very edges of the glass and case. I'm more worried about dust getting in than moisture or the light, but it would be great to fix regardless. Is there any kind of opaque sealant or adhesive such as a rubber one could heat and then rub along the edges and wipe off to help seal this area? Thanks!

this may be hard to explain lol, I have a roll of very thin double side tape I bought from ebay. I stick a strip on the outside of the phone, over where I see the light bleed. let half of the tape sticks to the outer edge or the display , and then the other half sticks to the bezel. I then use my finger nail, to work it down into the assembly by tucking it between the screen and the bezel. you'll eventually get it all down in there. then I just take a hair dryer and heat it up slightly. then use even/firm pressure and to hold it down for about 60 seconds. works great! light bleed has been a huge pet peeve of mine since I started replacing screens, the g2 by far is the worse, bc of the almost non existant side bezel (no where to adhere)
That's a great idea, actually. Thank you so much for sharing. I ordered some tape today and I'm going to give it a whirl!
Hello there,
just bought a used X Style in good condition. However the phone is slightly bent, distorted possibly from heat. So when you put it face down on an even surface as on a table, it actually rocks... One of the things I cannot do now is to actually put a glass protector on its screen as it will not stick.
Anyone with a similar experience ? Is there anyway to rectify the problem apart from buying a new front housing? I can easily open it up and disassemble it but would it offer anything at all?
Thanks for your ideas

Is the back of the phone slightly curved from bottom to top, thicker in the middle? This is not bent, this is design.
Are the edges of the screen slightly higher than the rest of the screen? This is normal, it's a huge piss off, but it's normal. Research glass screen protectors moto x pure and you'll find that there are very few which stick to the moto x, let alone stick well. My guess is the phone is not actually bent, the back is curved as it should be and the screen is made slightly different, and not many glass screen protectors work.
Edit : face down it rocks...that's odd I've not experienced that, maybe it is bent and I don't know what to do about that
Thanks for your reply. But yes the phone is bent, and I am not sure which structural part is bent and which part of the phone actually follow suit. If I could identify the part that is bent, I could take it apart, replace the bent part (middle frame?) and then it would be perfect. What is also really funny, is that the screen is not broken nor split, as it seems to be elastic enough to bent without breaking...

No worries. I have no idea what part could be bent, but it's possible that there's a lot of stress on the glass and it could break at a later point in time. You could try taking it apart and see if you can identify what is bent, had the phone been taken apart or had the screen been repaired before you got it?
I ask because I had to repair my screen, did it myself, but had to glue the frame to the LCD. In doing so I used crazy glue, and then 3 months down the road the bottom quarter of my screen stopped responding to touch due to the crazy glue pushing up on parts of the screen and wrecking something inside.
Hello,
I have put a Matte screen guard over my s8. I noticed that the screen is pixelated after putting, just like the glue residue all over the screen. Also, I see a straight line going from left to right in the top. The salesman said me that those marks will be removed in 2 days with charging and heating of phone.
Could somebody confirm me if charging (heating) my phone will really make those glue like marks go away of my screen ?
Thanks.
Use little spirit on the cloth to make it damp. Rub gently on your screen where there is glue marks. Take care and it should work.
Hello,
Do you mean that I should take out the screen guard and then rub the spirit ? Is there any other way to do this without removing the guard ?
Thanks
Hi everyone, I made the mistake and wiped the screen of my mi9t with alcohol. The screen works fine as before but now the curved edges of it are a little jagged and a bit green, one is a bit pink/purple. The olephobic layer is still one the screen, I checked.
The bleed is small.
What should I do? I'm scared that something will go wrong... Those colors weren't there before, and they are visible only when their part of the screen is white. Should I maybe put it in rice to soak the alcohol (if that's it)? Or is it harmless? Please help. Thanks in advance!
That could be light refraction from grease or alcohol residue. Try to gently clean it off with a microfiber cloth.
