german keyboard ? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 ROM Development

hi i search for my blue angel 6.1 or 6.5 a german keyboard
or a german rom

i personally don't use german keyboard layout much, but i know that the spb keyboard can be set and personalized like the pc windows one. choose the layout yourself, and there are great skins to match practically every rom and theme:
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/keyboard/
14.95$ is a little expensive though, but you can try first.
a free alternative would be the pocketcm keyboard:
http://freewareppc.com/utilities/pocketcmkeyboard.shtml
which is also skinnable and pretty finger friendly
or simply pick another one yourself, this might do the trick:
http://www.google.de/search?q=free+keyboard+windows+mobile+german+layout+ppc
if you, on the other hand, look for a german rom, i am sorry to have to disappoint you, but there is an alternative. if you are ok with just upgrading to wm6 instead of wm6.1, you should go with helmi's wm6, for which you can find a german language pack here, it should, according to him, be 99% german:

Chef_Tony

du kannst auch einfach das tastaturlayout in der registry auf deutsch stellen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446449

You can use german keyborad
you can enable many layouts keyboard for many devices and languages with the Advanced Settings V3.3 install it there on alll the hughe options to tweak are the keyboard layout change... if the advanced dont run install too the net compact frameworks 3.5 both aplications are on my downloads at my signmature search for them...
bye bye...
oh are free! not cost...

t-mobile mda compact ext. rom?

hey folks,
I heard that the german mda compact has something really interesting in the extended rom.
a t9 cellphone like on screen input pad.
I attached a screenshot from the app.
does anyone got access to a german mda compact and could upload the extended rom? that would be pretty cool.
thanks in advance folks

ait folks, here is the software I just talked about.
it's from a german mda compact. so I dont know if it works on an english device and if it uses it's own dictionary or the one from your own device.
just give it a try.
just checked there is also a english, french, italien, spanish and portugese dictionary included. so go ahead, give it a try.
I really like it. with the t9 it makes is quiet easy to input sms with just one hand
Hey, does it include the t9 dialer?
If it doesn't, can you post it here please too?
If you know german, could you translate more or less what does it say on the options?
Hey dude,
Yorch is right, why didn't you extract all?
ait folks, I dont have a mda compact. I just got this from somebody else. but I can ask if he can get the t9 dialer as well.
here is the translation of the options:
- switch on one touch entry
- automatic hiding of the list of recomendations
- turn on sound for screen touch
- add space after a selected word
- activate pop up menu for deleting userdefined words
have fun

This software rocks! Well done for finding it! Now all we need is that great t9 dialer...
Keep up the good work!

yeah, sorry about that, of course i meant that
Any news for the T9 dialer ? just can't wait to try
great work dude!!!
Hi there all,
I installed the dailer but even after a soft reset I can't find it on my MDA II.
What am I missing here
If I look in installed programs, then no T9 dailer is installed there.
So right now I only wasted a precious 1.4Mb for nothing  .
Wouter
Wouter: From what I read, this T9 isnt the dialer (although some images imply so). It is 'just' a HTC implementation of a T9 like input way, called IntelliPad. Can be activated using the SIP selector on teh bottom-right of any input screen.
Like you and many others also the dialer app 'IntelliDialer' would be very nice to have. I wonder where HTC has put that one. . . .
Update: The ExtROM of the MDA Compact (aka magician) can be accessed by soft-resetting AFTER having gone thru the initial startup (calibrate screen and all that) and BEFORE the customisation.
The ExtROM will then be visible.
Normally during customisation "Delete_vdisk_shortcut_ger.cab " will make the ExtROM invisible. The ExtROM stays locked, so you can only copy things off!!
In the ExtROM appears to be a "IntelliDailer.cab" which should contain this nice new dialer. On ppc-welt.info it was stated that it doesnt work flawlessly on a Himalaya, but maybe that can be figured out?
Still: I also see the need of getting the English language versions of boith IntelliPad and Intellidialer . . .
Intellipad
Installed on PDA2K
Works fine but uses german dictionary.
Tried switching the dword number from 1 to 1-5 in registry. no good.
can anyone tell me how to use intellipad with english?
Intellidial works great to sort contacts. Options in german but registry keys in english so choose options in the registry works fine.
any help with english intelligpad would be great.
steve
Yay!
My wish came true!
Worked great on my i-mate, and with the English dictionary too!
You can configure Itellipad to use english dictionary:
Settings/input/Intellipad/options
In the german screens select the tab 'sprachen' (=languages)
And then choose 'english' in the 'datenbank' (=database) field.
I updated the cab to make it un-installable (thats whats lacking)
Guess we have to wait for a blue-ish (O2/iMate/Qtek??) English version (that also has English menus)
anyone still intestered in the t9 dialer?
here it is:

Swedish newbie help!

I recently bought a Qtek s100 and have just tried it out... I don't know much about this kind of stuff, and now I've got a bunch of questions about settings abilities and upgrading etc.
I would really appreciate if someone could explain a few things for me.. since some of my question concern swedish settings and stuff, it would be great if someone from sweden would be that kind!
I would prefer to talk to someone over icq (55988176), but if you guys prefer I use the forum I'm okay with that...
My first questions:
Is it possible to write å,ä and ö while using the transcriber?
Is there any way to replace the english dictionary with a swedish one?
I'm also wondering about all the folders, what different folders used for? (it seems it's not a good idea to rename or delete certain folders)
Thanks for any help!
mikael
Swedish is possible if you pay for it, www.handit.se i think working on an program how let you write åäö. Here is from there homesite.
IT COST
SEK 745 kr "106$" for an translation so fuc...ing expensive, hope it will come on DC++.
Dont tuch any folder at all. It have to be left as it is.

In transcriber it doesn't seem to be possible. However, in "Letter recognizer" there is provision for such characters. However, from testing it myself, the only one which seems to work reliably is å. Do test it yourself - could just be that my handwriting is poor.
Phatware produces a transcriber replacement called Calligrapher 7.4, which DOES have provision for Scandinavian characters if you buy an add-in pack.
http://www.phatware.com/calligrapher/index.html
http://www.phatware.com/calligrapher/cgrnorwegian.html
There is also this: http://www.zicorp.com/decumaalphabetic.htm
One the website where I found out about it, someonesaid it was superb in terms of recognizing scandinavian characters. However, the person also said that when they uninstalled the demo, it totally wrecked their OS install with regard to inputs. So be aware of that.
On www.smartphone.no there is some discussion of Scandinavian characters. There is a download there for a free Scandinavian keybaord to replace the one in your input options. But it is only keybaord input, it does not change the transcriber, still.
http://www.windowsmobile.no/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=121
As for the user dictionary, I have been looking to find out if it is possible to change - or at least edit it - and nothing so far.
Please post here if you get more info......
So, no good news it seems... A way to edit the dictionary would be really great!
Anyone who can shortly describe the purpose of different folders? (would be nice to know)..
New questions:
First, there seems to be some kind of problem syncing the calendar with outlook xp... I've got my schedule in a vcalendar file which i import to outlook... everything seems ok in outlook, but when i sync it with my s100, every appointment is set as "all day event", and also the dates doesn't match (some appointments end up a day to late).. This is really annoying!
Second, is it possible to have different colors for different categories in the calendar, like in the calendar in symbian os?
Third, can I change the path to where pictures and videos from the camera are stored? I have set the camera to store on my storage card.. It creates a folder called something like 200502050001... I would rather store my pictures in a folder called Pictures...
You can get scandinavian character layout for the builtin keyboard for free from:
http://www.idedata.no/support/support.asp?ID=195
It has different layouts for Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Works like a charm!
Excellent. Now the keyboard is truly usable. I just wish Transcriber would work.
I was thinking about installing the German version to see whether it works sufficiently well for Swedish. Has anyone tried this?

Calligrapher (which must have something in common with Transcriber, since the welcome screens are almost identical) has a swedish addon that works pretty well:
http://www.phatware.com/calligrapher/
Calligrapher costs $30 and the Swedish addon around $15. It works quite well, but the recognition relies heavily on the Swedish dictionary, so since I write messages in Swedish 50% of the time and Finnish 50% of the time, I've noticed that almost all Swedish words are correctly recognized, but Finnish words with scandinavian characters are rarely correct. I've started using a normal soft keyboard instead, since I realized I will never ever be able to handwrite faster than I write with a keyboard.
I've had some ideas about developing a keyboard map resembling FITALY for Finnish and/or Swedish. Fitaly has been created by analyzing a LOT of English words and putting the most common characters close together and also the characters most likely to be written in pairs next to each other.
The map would be completely different for Finnish and Swedish though and there's a learning curve, trying to absorb a new layout after so many years of qwerty. If I have time I'll give it a shot.

How to generate Swedish characters with keyboard

I’ve been using an Ipaq hx2750 for over a year now, but feel a huge need of having a keyboard. Strongly considering the Wizard (the Qtek or K-Jam), I’m interested in finding out more about the ability to customize the keyboard layout to support Swedish characters (å, ä and ö).
Surfing to www.myqtek.com and choosing Swedish, brought me to the insight, that there is a Swedish version of the device. This means both Swedish keyboard and ditto OS. Since I’d prefer my OS in English, I wonder whether it is possible to change the normal WWE version’s keyboard mapping to match the picture found on this web site (which is the Swedish version of the device).
I’ve read about this keyboard mapper, but need to get confirmed that it can be done.
If it is possible to generate the mentioned Swedish characters on a “native” WWE Wizard's keyboard (without any patches or remapping), it would also be of interest and enough info for me to buy the English version.
On www.myqtek.com, I also found the following file, which was supposed the remap the keyboard to Swedish in case a hard reset was done on a device (however, this might only relate to units with the Swedish OS). The file is located here http://www.myqtek.com/downloadFile....dic_keyboard_1102.sa.cab&node=5040&media=5037.
If someone has a “clean unit” and don’t mind doing a Hard Reset to retrieve the English keyboard setting, I’m very interested in finding out whether the patch generates a Swedish keyboard map on an English unit as well.
I’ve spent quite a few hours scanning this forum on the mentioned issue, but without being able to narrow it down just to the keyboard remapping (most posters are interested in altering the whole ROM into another language as well).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or comments!
Best regards,
Bateman
I cant answer directly to your question, but in finland there is few shops, which are selling qtek 9100 wwe with swedish keyboard. Its little bit more expensive than wweOS/wwe keyb (something like 10-15euros).
Other product which you should look is Skandinavisk tastatur

Thanks for the reply! The suggsted link changes the soft keyboard into Swedish. Additionally to change the slide-out keyboard's layout into Swedish, simply run the small program found on www.myqtek.se. The small application can be removed like any other program through "Remove programs" in Start->Settings.
I now have a WWE Qtek9100 with Swedish layout on the hardware keyboard.

Swedish keyboard problem

Hi
Not sure where to post... but here it goes
Bought a Diamond this summer, works fine with the 1.93 ROM. Only one big issue. When using the pre-installed keyboard I can't type "?", instead I get "=".
Is there a way to "remap" the current keyboard or do I have to install a new software keyboard?
By the way, I'm using a swedish layout.
Thanks
Have you considered trying other keyboards? There are many out there with Swedish layouts...
Many..?
If there is a good keyboard with swedish layout I'd be very happy!
Jag hittar nämligen inte ett skit (som är bra då) ;P
Like Pocket CM? Thought that there could be a prog. that just remaped the keys. Was hoping for an easy way out...
Ok I'll look around, and CreeptCruel, if I find any, I'll get back to you

I`ve just bought a new xperia X1 two days ago. It`s working fine with the Touch Flo Panel. But there`s one thing, which i want to change in the phone. I want to have this "chat-window" away and insteatof that the normal Windows-Mobile windows with simple answer-windows insteat of this "chat-lines". In the inbox are only message which beging with the answer of me insteat of the answer of the guy, who sent me the sms.
Is it possible to get the other sms-mode ?
Please excuse my bad english, i speak a better german
Hoping for your help
Skypa
Hi, I don't know the answer but maybe you are interested in a german forum: http://www.se-world.info/board211/
I know I have read a solution in the net buw I don't know where.
These are two links to german/swiss forums:
SE-World
PocketPC
You can download/install Xperia Tweak 2.0, there is an option to disable the chat-mode.
Translation:
Hier, zwei links zu deutschsprachigen Foren...
Du kannst du Xperia Tweak 2.0 downloaden/installieren, dort kannst du die Chat-Funktion einfach deaktivieren
thanks for the answers and the links. But I found in each of those forums many links to this forum here, so I think that the xda-devs.-forum the ultimate help and best solution is
By the way it pratices my english-writing
You can do it without program, just change
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\SMSInboxThreadingDisabled
binary or Dword - 1 SMS threading on, 0 - off
I think what you want is to deactive conversation-style SMS/MMS.
Use XperiaTweak and check the first checkbox in the program. (You may have to reboot.)
