what is a good pocket reader to read ebooks?
Mobipocket Reader. Free.
any other ones? that one is not very touch friendlt.
Actually it depends on what format is your eBook too. For me I have Mobipocket Reader and RepliGo Viewer installed.
I think, that MS Reader is the best pocket reader.
But its a little bit difficult to produce / convert "lit-files"
Haali reader
"But its a little bit difficult to produce / convert "lit-files""
there is a free program which convert html, txt, doc and rtf directly to lit
There is also uBook Reader: http://www.gowerpoint.com, I use this and Mobipocket together
Microsoft Reader ftw. Seriously. Mobipocket and Ubook pale in comparison.

Click to collapse
Mobi maybe, uBook heck no... the major, major prob with MS Reader is that it only reads one format... I want a reader that reads allllllll formats... sadly that has yet to be written... so I use uBook and MS Reader...
i basically get books for www.skyscape.com
but they use their own program and everything is sorted out via them. i really find their reader very unfriendly.
how can i find out what type of file it is?
I have been using Mobipocket Reader and also iSilo since many years with satisfaction on PalmOS.
And I have renewed this choice on my X1 after having tested many other readers, including the very crappy Microsoft one, that never wanted to install correctly (I had to create the shortut myself in the start menu) and that never wanted to read the common eBooks you can find for free on the internet.
And now, many publications are in HTML format, so I read them with Opera...

Does anyone know of a good ebook reader for windows mobile, I have a ebook in both .txt and .doc format, but when i try to load it into word mobile it takes so long to load because it is such a large document. Is there anyway for me to read ebooks on my sprint mogul that works well?
My personal prefence is MobiPocket. It's free, and displays numerous file formats. I've been using it on my new Mogul and my BlackBerry prior to that.

All help appreciated.
Mobipocket reader is pretty good, but my favourite has been Haalireader
Both of these are free
Mobipocket is my weapon of choice because you can convert practically any file format to the Mobipocket format using the free Creator application from their website.
mobipocket for me too, it's quality
mobipocket also over here, looks like you've found your solution ^^
Definately mobipocket - free, syncs with your pc and has a big book store
I just got the Touch by Sprint, Or as it is called the Elf. I am looking for a good, easy to use ebook reader. I would prefer something that uses pdf, but as ong as I an find a converter, I will use any format. I have a bunch of Ebooks on my PC that I have previously bought and want a reader were I can use them. Thanks
You can use the mobile version of Adobe Reader to read pdfs, but I think it's a bit of a pain as they don't fit on the screen in a readable resolution. I tend to use Microsoft Reader, which uses lit files. Lit files are fairly easy to find. Otherwise I use Mobipocket, which reads a few different file formats.
Mobipocket Reader is the best ebook reader for Windows Mobile. They also have a free app called the Mobipocket Creator which will convert most ebooks to a txt or other readable format. The best thing about it its 100% free.
I second the MobiPocket, it's great.
P.S. Your device if your with Sprint is the Vogue!!!
easiest way to tell, the Vogue is doesn't have WiFi. There are other differences but that's the one that will cause you to go....Ahhhhhh....
Yes mobi pocket is very good reader...
The cool thing is, you can import pdf files, and it will remove the line-breaks automatically.
I've been using mobipocket for half year, and it totally beats other reader applications (and I've tried allot).
Can anyone suggest a decent PDF reader? I have tried a couple of the apps from the market, but have not found one yet that utilises 'bookmarks'.
I use pdf docs that have thousands of pages (one of them has close to 10,000) and scrolling thru from the beginning each time is simply impossible - I need to be able to use the index/bookmark to select chapter/sub-chapter etc. Adobe Reader 2.0 on WinMo was best, anything similar?
i use the dudes build that has pdf viewer. haven't played with it that much so can't tell about bookmarks
Check out repligo reader, its not free but its top quality.
What is the best Ereader app for Acer A500?
Depends on the taste but my prefered reader is Cool Reader.
mine is Lumiread, but also ezpdf reader is really good.
Try Aldiko for Android ePub Reader
I've been using the Aldiko ePub reader on my A500 and on my Nexus One. It works well on both platforms. It's integrated with Adobe DRM so if you need to access DRM protected eBooks, then it can handle that. It has a "store" mode that links to a number of eBook resellers. But, you can also import ePub files that you might have stored locally on a PC, or that you've downloaded from free eBook web sites.
Try it I think you'll like it.
Thank you all for your kind suggestions. Greatly appreciated.
I second Aldiko.
