Portover try of the TouchFLO 2d QVGA build to VGA devices with a wholly redrawn image set and some usefull aditions.

IMPORTANT: please note this is only the main TouchFlo2d program, I didn't look in the other programs (like youtube) and addons that are available for the TouchFlo2d QVGA version, and won't do till first this part of the project is done.

Instalations / Download
To install please follow the steps found here:

and after you have everything up and running (even in the little left corner of your screen but working) then go to "Start->Settings->Today->Items" and uncheck "TouchFlo" press OK then download this zip file and extract the content to \Windows\ directory on your device.

Then go back to "Start->Settings->Today->Items" and check "TouchFlo" again press ok and the full resolution TouchFlo should appear.
IMPORTANT: It seems with the latest Manila2d release (1.00...) the files are installed in read only state so you won't be able to overwrite the files unless you remove the Read only state from the files which are all files in \Windows directory starting with HH_..... and HTCHomeSettings.xml and then all files in \Windows\ManilaGFX

I'd really like this, but I'll wait for the updated images images, however I'm not so sure if touchflo2d can be uninstalled so the only way to take it off is to a hard reset. but waiting on your update would give it a go and help out as much as i can.

well well... great job buddy... I've found some bugs.
1.Lunch Browser picture doesnt show (The globe one)
2.And when I go to music tab the music picture which is a note crashes and half down looks corrupted
3.Album tab doesnt show the pictures fully and shows them like QVGA.
BTW tnx for great job... if u want i can make a cab for this so were gonna have a real XDA-Team M2D VGA...

Thanks for testing, point 1 and 2 are known as it is written in the 'Not working' list in the first post, but regarding the music tab I don't think it has something to do with the VGA changes but till someone cant test it on a QVGA device with all the same files/addons installed I cant say for sure but yes, I noticed the problem too but then launched the player separately and then everything worked just fine so thats why I think it may be a TouchFlo 2d bug and not a theming one.
Oooo, almost forgot, regarding the cab, I think there is no need for it for now but when this gets really done with every real pictures and all bugs fixed it will be a good idea.

I've found another prob... When u want to slide the pictures in album tab u cant slide in the whole screen... it only works in the left corner of screen (The place when u qvga version appears)

It can be uninstalled. Use Memmaid or SKTools. This has been mentioned quite a few times.

First off, I want to thank udK for the great rom. It has its flaws but Im sure you will fix this. Anyway, I wanted to contribute to this beautiful design so I made an image and an animation for the boot sequence that match the syrius look, the last "WM61" image is vista inspired. Hopefully udK will use the "udKsyrius.bmp" in ROMUpdateUtility in his future syrius roms, no offence. The .zip is attached at the bottom of this post.
Note: The preview is here to give an idea of the sequence and is not like the real thing which is a bit faster and better.

1. Extract the all files.
2. Connect your Polaris to the PC.
3. copy files "WM61.png" and "syrAnimated.gif" to "\windows\" directory
4. Use a registry editor (like PHM registry editor) and modify the following keys:
(a) "\HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation\StartupGif\" to "\Windows\syrAnimated.gif"
(b) "\HKLM\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation\GIFFile\" to "\Windows\syrAnimated.gif"
(not sure what the difference between (a) and (b) is but when I only changed one of them, can't remember which one, the animation was not updated)
(c) "\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Splash Screen\MSBitmap\ to "\Windows\WM61.png"
(d) "\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Splash Screen\CarrierBitmap\ keep? "\Windows\welcomehead96.png"
(not sure what this last one (d) does, doesnt seem to do anything in the syrius r0 rls. I did not change this key)
5. Last but not least you open the "ROMUpdateUtility" folder and flash your Polaris with the "ROMUpdateUtility.exe".
(note: even though this is a very simple step you should not do it if you are not familiar with flashing ROMs.)

Also, I have an iContact and a S2U2 design in the same look as Touchflo2D and then an, in my opinion, visual improvement to the TF2D digital clock. All this will be given to you in the next couple of days. Dont hesitate to suggest other apps where the TF2D look can be applied. If this is a program that is popular or I could find usefull then I would be happy to make a skin.

Touchflo2D digital clock improved looks with whiter digits.

Default (L) vs ice-digits (R)
In the default version of the digital clock all the images are transparent but in the ice-digits the numbers and the colon is non-transparent making them whiter. Since I dont use the AM/PM image I left it as it is, also it can be a nice look to have it a bit transparent while the numbers are white. I used the same font so there should be no other difference in looks other than the ice-digits being whiter and because its in a zip file you can combine it to your own liking having the colon transparent if you want.

I am trying to get t9 in other languages with a cab specifically for syrius. My first goal is Dutch, but other languages should be easy once I got one working. But I have some difficulties, for instance the shareware version of wince cab manager doesn't support importing of reg files. Are there programs better capable of handling cab files? I don't find it worth 100 bucks...
The cab I'm working on is based on the Modaco multilanguage pack. It got all the kdb files needed, I just need to get the registry changed correctly...

Ok man, but I dont know very much about that kind of stuff. I have designs and skinning as a hobby and in that field ask me anything, but other than that I dont know very much. Al I can say about your issue is that I tried a swedish t9 and now none of the t9s work but I dont think that is any help at all...

I got different languages working on different roms other than syrius, but the strange thing is that because of the differences between the roms there isn't a global solution. First I have to get it to work with syrius and then I'm going to make cabs for different versions.
It's going to take some time, I have to do it in my spare time

A total of 142 downloads but only a few comments...
I guess this is going to sound kind of pathetic but I want som friggin feedback... I dont see the point of releasing anymore of these skins if theres barely any reaction to it.

Here it is - my critical comment. )
I`d downloaded and installed theme for iContact and dicovered a problem on Sirius R0 - that bottom butts are not skinned, they are workin fine but with incorrect images above.
(when i`ll know how to attach pictures i would place the screnncapture with the bug)

[ITA] Custom Titanium Panels Translation

07/08 - PLEASE INSTALL ONLY MORTSCRIPT VERSION 4.2 (LATEST OFFICIAL), LATEST BETAS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THE PANELS!!
And here we go, time for a big change! As usual you need to:
Disable Titanium (in Settings - Today);
Install original english panels (you can find links a couple of posts under);
I advise a soft reset;
I also advise to check with taskmanager for running mortscripts (kill everyone!);
Install the cabs for the panels you want to translate;
Soft reset again;
Turn on Titanium;
Play with it as long as you want;
Please, give me some feedback!!
I finally got to create single cabs, each one for the respective plugin (every zip contains the needed cabs). Actually, you may have up to 2 cabs for every plugin, that is because some panels need only regedits, other only modded mortscripts and other both of them. You can see which original-english-panel-versions I used as a base a couple of post under. Titanium Weather modifications is here, while SegoeUI font for Titanium is here.

Strange, Titanium Weather wasn't finished yed, but I did have it working properly... Anyway, wait for the release of JMLToday in italian language, it's based on an italian weather database so it should be completely translated into italian. Have a look HERE or HERE. I'm using the Skin JMLToday_First.plg and I'm very happy with that.

Have you tried the PLG-Converter for your resolutions? Would be good to adapt all translated panels to integrate it.

Maybe in next versions I can place some "pizza, spaghetti e mamma" here and there...
However, what is the PLG converter you talk about? Is it the windows program to convert cpr's/plg's to other resolutions? If so, I wouldn't know the use...
On the other hand, if you're talking about the short panel "setup" which is found in some panels (the one asking for the screen resolution), I'd be glad to integrate it anywhere but have got no clue. I'm mostly a translator, I'd like to have the time to investigate WM and produce graphics (like skins) but I don't... By the way, I could really use a hand at building cabs of these translated panels, now the install procedure is a little tricky as it requires to install original english panel first, italian regentries after that and finally the cab with italian translations of the mortscripts... I'd really like to have one single italian panel cab!
Moreover, let me point out one thing I got to try on my skin recently: most (all?) of the panels involving mortscripts, DO require a specific version of Mort's MortScript to run. For example, your JMLToday, CComm and CNitrogen (3 I can remember right now) work properly ONLY with version 4.2 (and not with the latest betas); and I fear that a lot of issues I had with other programs like Suiller's sUC (which is also based on mortscripts) happened for that reason. So, this should be made very clear in the requirements, but quite noone does that: if you think about it, it was me to point that out in your JMLToday skin thread after a short talk with the panel author. But I bet the others don't know about that! Ok well, let me know some of the answers to my questions... thanks for your interest!

With this Program you can adapt each JMLToday-Skinto each resolution (WVGA,QVGA, VGA, WQVGA - portrait and landscape)
And: If there's a PlugIn which doesn't support it - you can use it to - for all resolutions (the most plugins use only "default.plg") (or does all Plugins support VGA? )
To Mortscript 4.2: It's the last stable Version - and so every serious developer would develop with this Version - not with a Beta, which is not forward-compatible. But you can addthe MortScript Execute to the Working directory of each Plugin - with the different versions - so it should work, too.
To make a cab is hard - I know. Especially for Titanium. Therefore I made a Framework, which does that for the Skinners almost automatically: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4198295&postcount=7

Take the new .dll and add it to the .inf-File like he description and put the 3 needed files in the lugins Main Directory. Than you can make italian cabs.
Youmust learn, how it works - but I neveround any example for all of this and had to search in different sources, to get the framework. Look inside the Framework (especial "AllImages") - and you will see, how it works.

I used EUR|DE|GM011|DUSSELDORF as location code which was working in another image with built in Titanium Weather a few weeks ago.

Can someone help me, i would like to change my 2.5 slider icons so they would look like the rhodium stock ones. I've attached a file (i don't remember which member did this.. sorry) with them resized to work properly with SENSE 2.1 's calendar tab (because of the date shown on the calendar icon).
more specifically, i'd like to know how to extract the files from that cab, and where i can get a 2.5 slider cab so i can change the colored icons to those black and white ones, plus new ones for the footprint & the twitter tab
Actually i have good basics on program developping but i have never made an executable cab file.
Also, does anyone know how i can get rid of taskbar icons that were pre-installed on a rom that i use (uzeb french rom).. i think he used this package ( http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=65911 ) (it's the same icons that i have on my device) but i would like to use the original 6.5 icons instead.

To extract files from a .cab, I usually use cab2oem.exe, which will more or less achieve what you want.
To make .cab files, I use WinCE Cab Manager, which costs $99, though there are excellent free alternatives, such as QuickCab, if you don't need advanced features.
Lastly, to replace the icons, you need to use an untouched shellres.192.dll from a 6.5 ROM. Since I was working on a project involving such a file, I'll attach it (as a .cab installer). Just install it to your device, soft reset, and you're good to go. If the cab doesn't work, or it produces unexpected results, just uninstall it and post what happened here.
EDIT: It's attached. I had to zip it because the upload kept failing.

thanks a lot for your time dave, but i didn't see any images after extracting my cab, i just got 38 files without extentions (0cfe494a_manila, 59c727fc_manila,...) ---> 12 of them are 65kb each, 24 are 17kb each + I also have 1XML file, 1 RGU, 1 TEXT and 1 DSM. To be honest, i don't know what to do with that at all
And about your cab, well it did restore the SIGNAL icon and the notification icons (new text, missed calls...) but the rest stays the same (wifi, active sync, battery, volume...)

The manila files are as they should be. Manila uses PNG images that are somehow reformatted in a proprietary way, to become the xxxxxxxx_manila files. If you need to edit them, I'd look into Mode9 editor, or another manila editing program. Just set the directory that the xxxxxxxx_manila files are in for all folder options (when you start it for the first time), and you're good to go.
The DSM, XML, RGU, and Initflashfiles.txt files are useful only for cooking ROMs. Cab2oem is a tool for creating oem packages from cab files, so they can be baked into a ROM. Since you aren't cooking a ROM, you know that the files go into the \Windows folder, and there aren't any registry entries (confirmed by looking through the .RGU), they're not terribly useful to you.
As for the icons, I don't quite know what else to do. You could try dumping your ROM and looking for the images you don't want, then dumping a stock 6.5 ROM and taking the images you want from that. Then, you could create a .cab to replace the images, but I think that'd be a lot of work, not really worth it, and there's no guarantee it'd even work.
Also, if you manage to create a black and white slider, post it on XDA please(I like the black and white style from the older versions much more than the colored ones). Hope that helps

well the cab in the first post IS a fully working b&w slider but for SENSE2.1, all the icons are from the winmo 6.1 stock rom so if u have sense 2.1 in your device, my friend you will be happy with that cab trust me (somebody from xda did it for me a couple of weeks ago and i've tested it myself.. but i wanted SENSE 2.5 in french so much and a rom just came out that is not heavy on memory usage so i flashed my device for the 1st time but sadly, the rom was too customized ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/editpost.php?do=updatepost&p=4984984 ) even if the tweaking part is perfect

can't nobody take a look at this? Think about it guys : to have sense 2.5 with a the BLACK & WHITE stock SLIDER. + All the icons are provided with the perfect size (in the cab) except for twitter & footprints!! :S

bump. i want some classy b&w slider icons for sense 2.5 (unfortunately, i cant help). my today screen just getting too much on it with maxmanila and i think it would look cleaner. the dusk theme has good looking slider, but i would like to see just the slider and not the whole thing (plus dont think its compatible with my current rom; juicy r5)

i'm with you on that, i mean there's too much colour on manila 2.5 home screen for our devices,... at least, if the slider looked like the stock one, b&w, the screen would look cleaned up,.. plus having a stock feel on it

I would also be interested in the STOCK black and white icons for the bottom bar/slider in Manila / Sense 2.5...

well i'm not a cook or a chef, but since an official landscape support is (obviously) coming soon, i think i will work on that seriously.. all the knowledge i have on the subject is what has been advised by "dave the tytnII guy" a couple of posts ago..
so to begin with that, i need the manilla files coming out of both:
-a basic sense 2.5 (by that i mean a portrait "only" version)
-the files from sense 2.5 with official landscape support (just like in ark666's latest rom)
-plain b&w icons for the footprint tab + the document tap + twitter tab (i have my ideas on how to get these but the final result may not be perfect..)
so i'll be sure to make 2 of them (since there's the document tab in the second one + landscape so there may be more files to handle -- also the one with landscape may not work on portrait versions of sense 2.5)

currently using nrgz latest 2.5 rom, and i would also like to have a custom slider.
so far
i have done an export of all manila files from the phone to the pc, and then used cfc-gui to export all png file. this gives 1420 images.
i thought i could easily look through these files and spot which ones where the ones used for the slider and then replace them.
the trouble now is, i can see multiple images that could be the one used ( ie i have 5 twitter "t" that are all the right size )
so does any body know the manila file names of the items used in the sense 2.5 bar.
what would be handy is the manila file names for all
14 slider icons, the preview picture, also the icon used in the sense tab settings.

wow, this is exactly the way i have planned to proceed...
now, the only way i can think about is to start working with that, even if i have to do it one by one for all of the image files :S.. then it should work i guess
... but also we need to find the right images for both footprint and twitter tabs...

so nobody wants to see that happen i guess...

[MOD][VGA][06/09/2010] Sense 2.5.20182814/2.5.20183025

Description
This is a VGA port of Sense 2.5.20182814.0 from Oboe 1.03 ROM.
On how to cook it, I hope that someone could come up with a tutorial. Anyway, the Core package is configured to show Twitter and Stock tabs. So, you can cook in with previous version of the packages.
Regarding EXT packages, you can use the one I posted in the 2016 (VGA) thread as I include the separate package for VGA. Also, you can easily port the XML files using XmlGui (see my signature).

Drag-to-remove feature in Home and Internet tabs for landscape is not working correctly.
The combobox component is still WVGA.
Settings tab is not ported because it has some extra settings which are not supported by most VGA devices. If I port it, I need to do extra work just to remove the extra settings.

Note: The batch files are tools to CFC/unCFC the manila files only. Please also make sure that all files have their read-only, system and hidden attributes removed. You still have to manually add the 2 dll files required for CFC support and patch manila.exe and mode9.exe to use them.

heyy programmitx, other than the tabs you already ported, i'm just curious if we could use the older 2016 port on the rest of the 2018 packages that get released. I dont care if landscape works or not, not sure if any other changes have taken place from 2016 to 2018

hi programatix,almost everything seems to work fine,congratulations for your job. can i ask you a favour? i'd like to adjust the alignment of some home tab elements:
- "Call History" button in portrait mode is a little too high
- "Call History" button in landscape mode a little too low
(probably 1 or 2 pixels misalignment between call history and date for both)
-"Alarm Off" (or alarm hour if enabled) text is a little too high (overlapping the clock minutes tabs)
can you please tell me what are the values to look for? is 22e41977_manila the right file to look into? thanks a lot!

Mod to exclude HTC Messaging Client?
I would LOVE to exclude Messaging Client from my ROMs, if possible. I know with the 2012 port, there were a couple of different options that allowed me to exclude the HTC Messaging from my ROM (TMartin, kimi), but using those mods now break scrolling in my Manila SMS thread (and cause some other side effects). I know as the Sense versions get newer, the dependency on the Messaging Client increases (unfortunately), but I was hoping some genius could create a mod that would allow us to use the Classic Manila Messaging without any negative side effects?
I'm also having an issue with the RSS Feed where it only gives me the "Welcome" feed, even after I've selected & refreshed the feeds. I think, though, that this is related to the version of RSS Hub that I'm using (I was using an older OBOE version - I'm about to try a newer one now). Hopefully that corrects the issue there.

That key, of course already exists, as I am using RSS Hub from the Oboe.
Using a newer Oboe version of RSS Hub seems to have fixed the problem. Looking good!

I have noticed this as well. We need a HTCMessaging Client-less version of 2018 with a Twitter Tab because the scrolling for it is all messed up.

Attached is the package I just dumped from Oboe_Dopod_CHS_1.03.706.0_Debug ROM. You'll need to get 0409 (if WWE) and maybe change/import it into an EXT if you're kitchen uses those.

If I'm not mistaken, it is caused by the Core package... because I've tried cooking in both original Core and People and I get the same result. Then I tried People from 2016 and I still get the same result.
