Buttons and hard keyboard sudendly disabled - XPERIA X1 General

I expirienced a big problem. today after instaling one of the following programs (spb online, spb traveller, Iris browser,GB-SOFT gprs-umts tweak, spb minesweep) my hard keyboard and all buttons except xpanel button and power button doesn't work anymore. in other words everything is disabled. how's that posible? have anyone expiriencedsimilar problem? how to solve this?

You should first try to uninstall each of the mentioned application one at a time and restart the phone after each uninstall.
If none works, you can always hard reset the phone.

Softkeys dont work! Help!

Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance.
I installed the "Soft Key" application a while ago, and while installed it seamed buggy. So i un-installed the program, and after that my bottom soft keys wouldn't even work. I can tap on the screen above the soft keys and it will take me to the: Contact / Calendar but when i try to use the soft keys, they just wouldn't work. I was hopping that maby y could reset some registry values to bring it back to default settings.
Also, i "CAN" use the soft keys when I'm not at the Today Screen. Problem is just trying to get back the functionality for the soft keys at the Today screen.
Thanks again

OK and WIN button do not work

My OK and WIN button launch nothing anymore.
I have a TyTN and the OK and WIN button on the front side and on the external keyboard are like inactive.
How can I restore their default behavior ? where is it located in the registry ?

HAve you installed AEButtonPlus by any chance?
Yes, I install AEbutton. Is that the reason ?
I am going to uninstall it to try if I will have my OK and WIN button back.
I installed AEbutton for the copy/paste possibility that you can assign to a button (very useful), I will miss that, but I miss my 2 buttons even more.
I uninstalled AEButton, and made soft reset.
The OK and WIN buttons are still not working :-(
I have just installed ButtonMapper instead of AEButton, I now have the OK button working again !!
But the WIN button is still not working.
Anyone knows how I could get my WIN button working again ?
My OK button is fine, but my WIN button works intermittently. Sometimes it takes three or four presses to register and bring down the Start menu. In contrast, the WIN/OK combined button under the scroll wheel always works without fail. Annoying!

TBH, I'd uninstall button mapper, then run something like SKTools to clear all errant shortcuts and and notification queue entries. Then see where you go from there. Failing that, I'd recommend a hard reset.
bydandie, good idea I will have a look at sktools.
Do you know how does button handling work under the hood ?
what process is launched when I press a button ?
Good question....
I'm thinking a way to change my hard button links without installing a 3rd party software.
Is it possible modifying Registry?
Any other idea?

No, but I do know that in the past when I tried AEButtonplus, I got the same issues as you, but with an uninstall it cured it. It may be worth reinstalling AEButtonplus and then ensure within the app the the Win and OK buttons have nothing assigned to them.
I'm not sure what it calls, ,the codes look different from what is used by things such as the Soft-Key mapper

Normally the hard buttons can be found under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/Keys
There you will find a series of subkeys beginning with 40C
Each subkey correspond to a hard button. For instance on my ppc 40C1 is the calendar hard button. So try to find the subkeys related to Ok and Win buttons and change the default value by the path of the app you want to launch. By default, the hard buttons applications links can be found under
/Windows/AppButtons
Cheers,
.Fred
ps.: I don't have an OK and WIN buttons on my ppc, so maybe its different for these two...
Thanks for the information dotFred, I have had a look on the registry and in the windows folder.
You are right the linking between the application and the hard button is made here, but only for the configurable buttons that you can configure in WM5 settings/button. Unfortunately the TyTN's OK and WIN button on the front and on the side of the PocketPC are not included :-(
I'd also like a way to configure the function of the start button, and the side OK/start button. I have installed Smallmenu and would like those buttons to open it instead of opening the standard start menu.
Any ideas?
I noticed on my 8525 that when i put some programs onto my memory card it deactivated these two buttons as well. You might try uninstalling some recent programs. (the program that caused problems with me was an expired trial version of WA2 that i moved onto my card.)

How can I bypass startup @ softreset

I did something silly. I loaded SPB Full Screen Keyboard on my U1000 but it did not work. Although it showed in the list of keyboards dropdown when selected it simply did not work. So I used SK Tools to make it the default SIP thinking maybe at reset time it will load. Well, that was not a good idea. Now my U1000 has a white screen. It still works, I can turn it off and it rings when called etc but the screen is all white. I tried ActiveSync thinking I can delete the FSK and reset again but ActiveSync did not connect.
So, is there any way I can reset the device and bypass startup, registry etc?
If not is there any way to do a hard reset without using the Clear Storage application? I am looking for a reset button + power key etc type combination like in the older HTC devices.
Thanks for all your help in advance.

Volume Button Locking Up My Device

Not sure why, but the volume button on the side of my Niki completely locks up the device! I have to soft reset and sometimes it even stalls at the Niki Project splash screen or asks to boot in safe mode.
I thought it might be the new ROM but the fine folks on the Niki Project thread haven't seen this symptom.
I'm wondering if anyone can help me diagnose and fix this because I use the volume button quite often.
On top of Tom Codon's fine Niki Project ROM, I'm running the following apps:
S2U2, Ultimate Launch, PhoneAlarm, SPB Mobile Shell, SPB PocketPlus, SPB Diary, WeatherPanel, HTC Home Customizer, Battery Status.

HD2 and Titanium Functionality

Ok, though I like sense and many of the features, I like windows default (titanium) better, it's faster and doesn't drain my battery. (I know about all the tweaks to help sense out.)
The only problem I have with Titanium, and this is only on my HD2 device, is that there is no way to reset the titanium screen back to the default position (the clock) by simply pressing a hard key. On my LG incite, I simply just have to press the power button, on my t-mobile shadow I could press the Home key.
Is there anyway for me to have my HD2's home key do this? or even the end key.
At this point I have tried everything I can. I have tried thrid party programs like AEBPluss, but none have the ability to assign this function. I have searched to see if I cold remap it manually myself, but no luck.
Thanks for the help.
