how'd you fix it, it still does that for me. Soft reset did the trick?
So... feel like sharing? How did you fix it?
its pretty simple
go to the media panel
then remove ur memory card and wait for it remove the files it cant find anymore
then wait a few minutes and put the card back in..
make sure u wait for it to add the files from the microsd back before leaving the panel
Thanks, totally fixed it. Btw, your X1i setup is almost the same as mine except i've got a 16gb MicroSDHC, and no shures =[
i dnt think im gonna buy a 16gb till i find one that is a class 6..btw wat firmware u on..im looking for someone to help confirm that im not the only one gettin this crappy benchmark results for my sd on sktools

I used my Qtek 9100 with a PQI 512mb miniSD for a good few weeks and it worked flawlessly. I had another unbranded 2gb miniSD card and decided to copy everything on to that and use it so I'd have more space for music. To cut a long story short, this worked fine for a few days then I started noticing WMPlayer acting up. I checked the card and loads of files seemed to be corrupt. After playing around with it for a while I eventually gave up and decided it must be a duff card.
So, I bought a 2gb PQI miniSD which I had read good reviews off. However, I'm having the same issue. I've tried everything I can think of 1) hard resets, 2) soft resets 3) re-installing apps 4) formatting in a couple of different PCs with a couple of different card readers 5) formatting from the StorageTools on the phone 6) formatting using WM5torage.
I can install apps and they seem to be okay, but then when I try and run them I get errors and when I look at the card its because of corrupt files.
I have no idea what is going on and I'm at the end of my tether.
I'm using the latest Qtek 9100 ROM from their website. Is this perhaps a bug in the ROM? Would I be better with another ROM? Which one? Will this still leave my 'phone SIM unlocked if I use a non-standard ROM?
HELP? Please?
Hey,
I do hope this is within this topic!
I've got aLmost the same problem, except I have some files just disapear on my 2GB mini, and some stay!
Lost a GIG of music, and most of my WORD docs, [60MB] and it left me 2MBs after removing Skype!
Real WEIRD!
Ive got a 8125 and stuff on the SD card just disappears after I remove an app!
Since this has happed more than 3 times and the 2GB mini tested OK, whats up with the device!
Is it the connections in the device to the SD card, or what?
Thanks for XDA-developers!
I have a 2gb card in my Qtek 9100. I've had it for about 2 weeks, and I got the card the day after I got the 9100. Sofar I haven't noticed any missing files. It's a 2gb Sandisk
I just thought to add this. Do you have the enhanced performance option in RegistryWizard enabled, or have you made the registry change to enable caching of the file system?
I was noticing that my recent programs on the start menu were being lost on occasion during a soft reset. I disabled that "enhanced performance" (caching) and that problem has disappeared. It makes sense that it would cause data loss or corruption, since data is being cached, if the cache doesn't write out before you reset, you loose everything in cache. I didn't notice any real world performance increase, so I will just leave that disabled.
If you have that setting enabled, and soft reset often, then that might explain the data loss/corruption
Success!
Well, I got hold of CnetX Flash Format program and this seems to have done the trick. I installed it and tried formatting the 2gb card as FAT32 - this gave the same problems I had before.
Formatted it as Fat 16 with 32k Cluster and lo and behold its working like a dream. Copied all my stuff from 512Mb card to it and now I'm syncing all my music over.
Fingers crossed it stays this way!
Scrub that......
.....just failed syncing my music over. Managed to get 950Mb of stuff on the card and then it started doing exactly what it was doing before. Hmmm....i'm really stuck now.
Howdy,
Well now today all my stuff on the care is gone POOF excect one little word file and a few omaclock things and a few folders!
All music is gone but the music folder is there WOW!
I already reformatted a few weeks ago to Fat 32 form the other one!

Hey d0ug,
Thanks for the link, and dnloaded it but I really know why, or want for?
Ok whats this for, the storage card or what?
Thanks for your valuable time, and really sorry for the extra stupid questions, as this device in not my first device but I didn't have any problems with the X50 so I didn't have to learn to work on it!

Yep I moved 1 + GBs music into a "music" folder again!
Installed a app from xda, here called omanclockscaller.exe or something like that and set the overclock (speed of the processor) to 240 and the underclock to 150 (which was stated to work on another 8125)
and my device FROZE to the max couldn't soft reset or nothing so I had to do the HARD reset!
Looked in the SD card saw the folder "music" and NOTHING in it, just blank!
All subfiles were gone, POOF!
When to the main area of the SD card and ticked on a Mp3 file that was sitting there and it said player said "file stopped." 70%
Went to another MP3 file, tapped, and it said blah, blah "end of file" and would not play!
SO everything on the SD card, cept dah empty folders are either
1. corrupted
OR
2. GONE bye bye!
So NOW since the 8125 might not be the "slowest" brick on the block, and wont run, Skype unless its "overclocked," and I can't go thru another 50 some pages on xda to find the "fix" for dah SD wiping weirdness, and the overclocking tricks of the techs, I guess I get to go to Cingular, exchange dah phone (as it ain't no good as a PDA, but a great heavy phone) and than sell the NEW one on ebay for 350 with the New 2200MHz extended battery, and someone who is more techey than I can enjoy tweaking the thing!
Ive done 5 full Hard resets and have had to redo most everything, 5 times, settings etc, and its getting real time consuming, to state the least!
So since I got this pos on ebey and it has a 2yr. warrantee I guess its getting ready to get gone!
Hope someone like d0ug can help you out, really!
Later!
What brands are the Memory Cards? Where did you buy them from? Is it just in the Wizard that the card is being corrupt or does it work flawlessly in a memory card reader? Cause from what I've read it sounds like PEBKAC.
Card brand
My first card was unbranded so not overly surprised I had problems. This one is PQI but I think perhaps its because PQI cards are MLC (multi layer construction). Apparently Sandisk are SLC (single layer construction) and they should work okay.
I might just have to fork out more money and see.
The card works perfectly in my PC with card reader.
Excuse the ignorance but what is PEBKAC (or should I not ask!)?

Ah the reference to PEBKAC was more about the other guy. I think you've just got unlucky with the memory cards.
Card brand
Does the MLC/SLC thing sound viable? Has anybody got experience of using Sandisk 2Gb cards with the Wizard?
Hey scottjames,
I don't know if this helps as I was using Winamp files and wasn't using Win Media on my PC so that may be why the files got corrupt or just disapeared when I went in again and tried to play them!
So I diched Winamp and am using the gates special and so far so good!
I don't know if that may help but hope so!
Cingular is going to exchange my phone for too many other reasons!
Have a good one, and thanks everyone here!

I've been using a SanDisk 2GB card to capacity sine April of this year, I change the contents of the card pretty often as I use it as my mp3/video player, using both the WM5Storage program and a memory card reader in my PC. Has been flawless.

Well now the "THING" is doing the strange things again. . .
settings > memory > SD card says FREE 1903.97 out of 1904.13
NO 5ooMBs of music or word docs
But
when I go file explore > Device > SD Card I see all the music file and even play them OK
WOW thats real weird!
Cant see files in one place but plays the music in another????
So whats UP with this?
Anyone?

I filled my card lastnight, and have used the pda as normal thoughout the day today. accessed files, copied files, created files, deleted files. I'm not having any issues with my sandisk 2gb.
Thanks
Thanks everyone. I'll maybe just get myself a Sandisk card and let you know how I get on.
I have a Sandisk 2GB and whilst not experiencing the issues above I do have other problems.
When accessing eBooks via Microsoft Reader or playing video files via TCPMP the device will occasionally freeze and the apps cant even be killed by the taskmanager. I have a standard TMobile install and these are the only two additional apps that have been installed.
Ejecting the card usually frees it up.
To be fair I haven't yet tried the card in another device to establish if the card itself is faulty.
Good evening everyone...
I have a problem with my X2, the memory card have disapeared for good, its been a while now and I have tried every fix in this site, still no luck.. I have done a clear setting (hard rest) and many things still the memory card no go... some one help??
Is that the Original Card that came with the phone? How long did it work, if ever?
Did you apply the reg setting to DISable card sleep?
Did you try a DIFFERENT card?
Did you try that card in a Different Phone?
....and the results are....
Hi there,,, yes its the original card and its working for quite some time now,,, Its been working for 4 months now, and I have tested it n my PC and its working, its tottaly the phone, can u explain what you mean by card sleep disable trick??
Well, with a Registry Editor I go to:
HKLM\system\current control set\control\power\state\suspend and then to same key but RESUMING
and sete the shc1 value='0'
which makes the sd card never go to sleep. So far for me and I am using even a 32GB card, it never disappeared.
If all does not help and the card works in another PHONE, then the last thing left is to try a DIFFERENT card in your phone.
Else, phone back to SE for warranty!
thx man Ive tried that but its already set to 0.... I think the phone is having an emotional problem, cuz he dont see the card even with a SEUS clean rom install,,, seems the hardware is the problem not the software,, this is bad cuz the warranty isnt in my country and i cant do anything to fix it now..
Hii! new updates... I just got a new HC card 4 GB and it worked,, so i guess the device some how dont wanna recognize its original card any more, even hto its working on PC.. anyway thanks dude, i just got new memory card and its working, this X2 will drive me crazy some day but not today i guess!

Hi,
I first would like to start off and say that I been looking through these forums for about two hours now and couldnt find a thread similar to this one so I dont want to hear the complaining of blah... Ok now thats covered lol. I need help trying to figure out how to change the Windows mobile 7 to store on my external memory (16GB MicroChip). I formatted my Chip and did other options but still no luck. So every time my phone turns off, i have to resync my Contacts from my SIM, change the settings, and anything else that has been going in the memory... PLease someone help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance

NVM Problem Fixed
first i will assume that your Microchip is the SD card.
and your problem is for your SD card so you have to go for another one,
try Sandisk class 4 8gb....
and that's would fix your problem...
This weekend I was driving along and my CoPilot stopped working. Then I noticed that a couple of other apps weren't working and that the camera said it wouldn't take photo's until I inserted the SD card. I've had an 8GB card in there for the last 18 months.
Taking the card out of the phone and putting it in the PC does nothing. The PC at first says the card needs formatting but if you say yes it just says, insert a card.
I took some pictures at a friends Stag Party and I really need to get these pics off the card. I don't care about anything else.
I've tried a few of these "recover your images from a corrupted or formatted card" programs but they all require the card to be visible to the PC for them to work.
Has anyone get any ideas? Please help me
You could try a differnt card reader/different pc and hope that it works then, but tbo if its borked then with paying lots for data recovery, I'd say your out of luck
Sadly, I think you might be right. Looks like that card has gone to silicone heaven to be with all the calculators.

Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I would try every usb plug you have on your computer. i had the same problem and i kept at it. it took me several days to finally get it to work & to be honest im not sure why/how it did but i was thankful none the less.
i used this program & like i said i just kept trying. what worked 4 me was i held the card in the computer but only half way which the computer then was able to see the card. if you format the card you will lose everything on it so if you want pics off it & you format it you wont be able 2 recover them.

Thanks for the advice I'll give it a shot.
I thought at least if I could get it formatted then I could use some picture recovery software to get the pics back. It's so frustrating because there are only about 10 pics that I'm even bothered about. Everything else it backed up
hopefully that program will let you see that card, it did with mine eventhough though computer wouldnt. odd i know. i wouldnt apply or mess around to much with that program if you dont know what your doing because you can make it more difficult to regain your images. i gave the link 4 version 5 but i used version 6. i couldnt find it earlier 2 post, sorry. they do have a data recovery program that i used as well but ill have to hunt it down 1st & then i'll post the link.
i bought a hacked 16gb memory stick off ebay (!%$#@&$) that became corrupted and i was able to recover some of my files using the programs below. hope this will help you out.
MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 6.0
MiniTool Power Data Recovery
Thanks a lot man. I'd managed to find those from your first link. In fact, Partition Wizard actually suggests the 2nd program if the first one doesn't find anything
I've run Partition Wizard against it. It took all night after starting it at about 9pm it finished at 8am this morning. It thought my 8GB card was a 2TB drive but hey, at least it could see something which is more than any other tool.
I didn't find anything using that one but I'm going to try the Power Data Recovery tonight. Fingers crossed.

For starters some cards are simply not compatible with WP7.
You should try and make sure that your card is properly formatted before flashing. Use Panasonic SDFormatter to format your card..
FULL>Overwrite.
Size adjustment ON.
Format the card and then try again, If it doesnt work still then you need to use another card. There is a supported card thread in WP7 forum.

you probably would have more luck if you put this in the HD2 WP7 forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=975
you would also find that a quick search wil give you the answer as there are more threads on SD card issues than there are anything else
however because you are new an that was your first post im not going to be a complete arse!
the SD card issue is probably the single biggest issue with WP7 on the HD2.
Im not going to go in to details, but the the basics are as follows,
some cards will work, some cards dont, there is no list, but statistically you stand a better chance with a class 2 or 4 card
other than that there is nothing you or anyone else can do, its Luck, pure an simple.
there is a small chance that you can format the card and have some success, look for the panasonic SD formatter, use it and completely format the card.
It might help but it probably wont.

Thanks all for the answers
First I will format the card and see what happen. If still doesn't see the card I will buy a new one.
How can I know which SD Card class I already have?
Sorry about my post in the wrong place I will take care next time
have a nice day guys

it ususally tells you on the card its self, a wee number in the corner, some older / OEM cards may be blank, in this case there isnt much you can do to tell, if you can find the model number on it you could google it and see if anyone has posted the spec, perhaps there is a way to view the spec on a PC, ive never tried.
if you do end up buying one just be careful, dont buy anything you cant afford to have sit around gathering dust, there is no way of knowing if it will work until you try it, and even then there is the possibility of it being unstable, random restarts is the most common but there is a whole bunch of stuff that has been put down to dodgy SD cards.
what id suggest is coming back to us (on the WP7 forum) with what you have found, but use one of the many many many threads that are already there, we get a bit touchy when someone opens yet another SD card thread
stick to class 2 or 4 dont go for anything that goes on about ultra fast blar blar, probably go no higher than 8GB just now, as the cost starts to jump up after that and as i said, there is a very real chance that it will either A, not work, or B have issues.
once you get a working one though it is trully very very fast!
