Dust under the screen? - Touch HD General

Well i had the phone since it came out and i realized now that there are dust going under the screen from where the stylus opening is. Everything im on a white screen i will see it. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have no dust at all under the screen on my HD, but that might be because I never use the stylus.

yes same here, i suggest never use your stylus

Screen Alignment Problems after Screen Replacement

I dropped my iMate and the screen cracked. I had the screen replaced by PPCTechs and they did a great job. The device worked properly after a hard reset. After a few hours of use, the screen alignment drifts off. Typing on the onscreen keyboard becomes difficult and eventually impossible. After a soft reset and realignment of the screen, it works well for awhile.
Does this sound like a problem with the new screen or was something else maybe damaged (memory) in the drop? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
Fixed
The folks at PPCTechs recommended I peel back the screen protector 80% and smooth it back down. Evidently the screen protectors can develop "hotspots" that cause this behavior.
I have known the touchpad to cease operation if the screen protector is tucked under the edges of the front cover but I have never heard of misalignment due to air bubbles. I would try what they say and if the problem persists I would return it to them and ask for it to be fixed.
It's been working now for a day without problems. BTW, there wereno bubbles. PPCTechs installed the screen protector when they replaced the screen and did a very nice job. I am guessing it may have to do with temperature differences between the protector and the screen itself.

Screen pressure problem!

Hello.
I have a Qtek 9000 and i would like to ask a question.
Generally the screen needs a quite soft press in a button to work.
But in my device, i need to press a bit hard whenever i want to select something in the middle of the screen.
I mean that it needs more pressure in the middle of the screen than in the rest of the screen for it to work.
Is there a problem with my device or is it normal?
Thank you!
I don't seem to have that problem :-/ a light tap will normally be detected anywhere on my screen.

Ok, thank you!
Anyone else's experience?
Do you have a screen protector? Maybe it is thick in the middle. Try taking the screen protector off. It may work.

Yes, with the protector the problem was big.
Now that i have removed it the problem is almost gone( now will be difficult not to scratch the screen without it, but i prefer to have the phone working right).
Thank you!
Try the "Fellows" screen protectors. It is thin and comes in packs of 20, I think. It is like a transparent sticker. Better than not having one.
On my Exec, I use Proporta's Screen Protector. I think it is scratch resistant. I have it on since I opened my Exec fresh from the box and it still looks brand new without any scratch on it.
Thank you, but i am afraid i will have the same problems.
I usually use Brando Screen protectors which is top quality (100% transparency) but in this case it seems that i can't do anything.
Screen Protectors
I personally don't see the use of screen protectors. I have had ~6 PPCs, have never used a single screen protector, and have never had a scratched or damaged screen.
Am I just that much more careful than everyone else? I think not!
My personal experience(after using over 15 PPC/Palm devices all these years) is that if you tend to use handwriting recognition or any other functions that require to "write" on the screen frequently, then it is virtually impossible not to scratch the screen.

Is this Normal Screen Behaviour?

Hi,
Recently ive repaired a HTC Universal, put it back together as best as i could.
Now when i do touch the screen with a stylus, the screen has funny colours behind it. It kind of like when you touch/ prod your Computer LCD. It only happens when theres pressure on the screen so its not really a huge problem. The touch screen is definately there cause when i tap the screen it responds (e.g i tap start and the menu pops down).
If its normal then i can take it, but if its not im complaining to the ebay seller.
This doesent happen when i put any form of pressure on my HTC magician LCD, so im curious.
Let me know what happens with your universal
Cheers,
Whitemoo.
This is not normal behaviour of any touchscreen device!!
hmmm... well i just looked at the broken lcd screen, and even though the LCD itself is shattered, the touch screen is in perfect nick.
I put pressure on the touch screen and couldnt see any of the symptoms i saw on my current LCD
You guys recon i should swap the touch screen over? either way im complaining to the sellers, DODGY.
whitemoo.
from my knowledge, im pretty sure its normal. it happens sometimes on my 9000 so yeahh....

Screen Protector

Hey, i've bought a couple different screen protectors including writeshield, but they dont really do what i want them too. when i got my tilt it had a screen protector on it, which still allowed me to use the touch screen protectors , with all of the screens i have purchased, they are to thick to use the screen.
Does anyone know a place you can buy a screen protector where the touch screen is still usable??
thank you
Any screen protector made for the the Kaiser should let the touchscreen work. I have a very thick one on my old Treo that still didn't cause a problem. Is it possible that you've accidentally got your screen protector in-between the screen and the casing? Something like that might cause a problem.

I don't have any casing on my phone! im not sure why the touch screen doesnt work then =[, it works fine when i take it off, but with this screen protector on, it doesn't have any response!
By casing I mean the bit of the phone that you hold. Every phone has that
wow
idk what happened but its working now...
thanks for your help =]

Touch screen issues after removing screen protector

So I removed the included screen protector since it had a deep scratch on it. I read on the forums that you don't need the protector and that it actually works better without it.
Well my experience has been the complete opposite. Ever since I removed the protector I'm ready to smash this bloody phone. It's next to impossible to use due to the humidity in my area or something. The SMALLEST amount of moisture on my finger tips or even in the air will cause the screen to go haywire and register touches all by itself. Apps will open by themselves...i can barely type anything as it keeps typing multiple characters on it's own or other silly stuff. If I wipe down the display it will work fine for the first little bit until it gets that tiny bit of moisture from my fingers on the screen again and it starts going haywire again. It's a hassle just to try and unlock the phone from the lock screen at times.
So is my phone defective or is just the suffering I must incur by living in a humid area. I can't use the phone like this so I guess I'll have to look at buying a new screen protector. But if this is not normal and is a fault in my hardware then i would like to return it and get a different phone. I didn't really have issues with the screen protector on.
Ive kept my screen protector on my phone, works fine until i have moisture or (rain drops) on the screen, then my phone doesnt respond and also misfunctions the position of where i touch on the screen not sure if this is normaly as its the rain drops on the screen..
Tested witht he iphone 4 in the rain and works brilliant, why doesnt the X10 do the same !! :/

As you may know, those screens are capacitive displays, that means they're activated by sending (very) small amounts of electricity and are kinda "looking for a conductive material" in order to register an input.
The conductive material can be your finger, or something like... a raindrop or your screen, so that's why it thinks you're pressing that part of the screen...
Now it's even more obvious without the screen protector since it's directly on the screen.
As for why the iphone doesn't have issues with that, it does, but the screen being multitouch it's not as bad...
thanks for the info.good to know.
I didn't like the thick screen protector as my thumb/finger seemed to drag and not slide smoothly. I took it off and replaced it with a slightly thinner protector. I'm much happier with the feel now.

@smok3yjk - probably best if you do as Angelahp - get another screen protector on there.
