Hello,
As this is my 1st post I hope I've got it in the right place!
Q: Can anyone pls tell me what maintains the timers to be found in settings>device info>call duration
I ask (for my education) as I have just bought another o2 mini s from ebay to act as a backup for my existing phone. The seller said that the unit was 'hard reset' so was in 'as shop' condition. Indeed, it is perfect and whilst cloning it to match my everyday unit (both G4s BTW) I found that these timers are zeroed. Over the past few years I have hard reset my phone a couple of times when it lost the plot, but the call timers remained. I did not remove the battery so I am wondering if it is removed (as in the case of the new device) then after a while the backup battery goes 'flat' and the timers reset.
Best regards to you all.

hi!
I've been looking around the forum but can seem to find a way to reset / clear the call duration on my PPC 6800 ( WM6)
i need help!
a hint!?
something?
we won't help you scam anyone. bye.
hi!
As strange as it may sound it is to scam someone... but i work at a bell shop and i can`t return any HTC phone if the time usage is more than 300 minutes and mine is 315minutes.... so i either need to remove the call duration or brick the phone so that the personn at the warehouse cannot check the call duration, which ever is easier!!
just brick it, start a rom upgrade (the unlock and flash process can be found at ppcgeeks.com) and unplug the cable once its at 25% or more
First, let me say that I'm definitely a newbie to the 8525, but have spent some time looking over the wiki and searching for answers to my problem, only to come up empty...
I bought an AT&T 8525, with the original WM 5 installed, from eBay. The device has a 14 day warranty and physically appears to be in excellent condition. However, it has two very serious issues that I can't seem to find a simple solution for. Any thoughts, help, etc on the items below would be greatly appreciated!
1. After using the device and turning it off, after it sits for a while it will not power back on. Pressing the power button or none of the other buttons make a difference. The battery is reading fully charged and it still happens when it is plugged into a charger. The only way to make it respond is to perform a soft reset on it. The cycle then just starts over, having reset it about 10 times in a few hours of playing with it.
2. When it reboots, the following appears on the AT&T splash along the bottom:
M 05
S 04
B 06
D 2.15
"No GSM" then appears (I've read about this issue in the wiki just a bit) This occurs with my valid SIM card from another cell phone inserted. When looking at the device info in Settings, the Radio Version label is blank. Upon switching to the hardware tab, the IMEI is also blank.
It just now froze while on, after only performing a soft reset and leaving it with no running items in the background.
Any tips for repairing this, etc appreciated. I really like the form factor of the phone and want to use it, but unfortunately I'm afraid that I'm going to need to send the device back to the seller!
Thanks for taking the time to read this and for any responses.
Sounds like your radio is dead:

Send it back!
What you have is a PDA. NOT a functioning Phone.... With no IMEI your phone function is gone totally. You need to read about any problems the phone has, the seller has to list it legally or will have to refund especially if paid through paypal.
If you do buy a Hermes through ebay, make sure there is no problem with radio or screen\keys. These can be hard to fix and may be a sign of other problems. Also keep a copy of all Emails sent and recieved to\from the seller so you have proof of whats was said. Can only help if the seller decides to be a pain about refunding cash.
Cheers...
I have a bricked 8525 and have those two exact symtoms. If mtty doesn't get it fixed, throw it back to the seller.
Mate, I wouldn't even bother playing with it. If something is different and can be tracked back to you then I can guarantee YOU'LL be blamed for the condition. Send it back for a refund and look for a working Hermes, don't screw around with it or you'll be out of pocket with a virtual paperweight...
So yes , when the battery is like 50 or something similar (or 44) some times (some times !) when i get a call (and i use my phone for bussines so this is kind of disturbing...) when call is recived phone reboots , or stays in a state in which the screen goes dark , vibrate is on (its enabled for call along with ringtone) and nothing only reset helps (using stylus)
I had official rom 6.0 (sucks but im sure everyone knows that fact) Yevg001 WM6.1 same crap , i really dont know whats wrong , but its like that since i bought it i suppose i just charge to full when i leave home and not worry, but there are days when i need to make and recive lots of calls from customers etc , and as the phone reboots there isnt any record what was the last call
Any one had this ? any suggestions , hell i'll even change rom if some one solved it that way , but i did that from 6.0 > 6.1 same
All help appreciated
i heard it is a defective battery circuit issue, i suggest you contact hp for exchange
Okay , but i've bought it in poland (well online) but i've got the recit, so this must be sent to HP,how much time can it take (i know they will give me some Toshiba G910 as replace for few days but...i would like to know some estimate from experience of any one who returned it to RMA
Thanks for the info i was wondering what is going on with my phone
My experience with hp guarantee service is excellent, they replaced my 614c bricked unit in only one week, with their pick and return service. they work with UPS saver service.
They ask me to send just the device (without battery, sd card, stylus and battery cover). Then all was as they told me it shoud be. In your case i dont know how it will be, as it is a battery issue the warranty procedures could be different.
How is this possible, even a complete re-flash will NOT erase the Total Call Counter! Anybody got a solution for this? It cannot be reset ( only the other setting!) .
Hi, it seems this info is captured on your sim-card.., I guess.
On almost any phones the call timer and other relevant timer as the slider counter are stored in a different place.
So unless you find an hacking tool that reset those values they are still consistent, with the phone usage. And there's noting wrong in that.
to tell you that even my local SE office could not change that time, i had my x2 changed - they try to give me a phone with about 400min call - i refused and ask for brand new - they need another 2 days (tried to made it back to 00 but could not) before agreeing to give me a new one with 00:00 time call (3 different IMEI i checked)
Call timers are not supposed to be easy to reset. This helps prevent fraud!
So basically no one can try to sell a well used device and claim it an new or almost new etc
what a smart posting! Nobody said it was "easy". Nothing is easy, not even smart postings
Hi,
I've had my Omnia over a year now and it's just developed a problem. The phone can be working fine all day long, but after a while I'll realise that's haven't get any calls/texts/emails for a while even though the phone tells me it has signal. I turns out that it doesn't and I need to reboot the phone to get reception again.
However, when it reboots the battery is drained to the point that battery saver kicks in and the phone needs to be recharged. It's very annoying because you can't tell that the phone's stopped working as it looks fine until you try to use it.
I'm thinking that it either needs a hard reset or repair. Before I try a hard reset I'd really like to back up as much as I can, specifically the SMS messages as most of the rest is cloud based anyway. Is there a tool out the that can fully backup my phone before I try a hard reset or reflash?
Also, with regards to a repair I see that Samsungs UK warranty is two years and transferable between end users. I bought my phone from someone who had it as an unwanted upgrade from T Mobile. I have their original purchase receipt, they included it in the sale. If a reset doesn't work, do I have the right to a warranty repair as the handset is less than two years old and has never been unlocked, tweaked or tinkered with.
