HTC Home Plugin WinMo 6.1 - Mogul, XV6800 General

I have found lots of information about this on the site, but nothing that seemed to be a definitive answer. I have an XV6800 running Windows Mobile 6.1 MR1 and would love to add the HTC Home plugin. However, different places say that it will not work with 6.1, others saying it works fine, and others suggesting hacks to make it work with 6.1. Plus, most of the posts I have found are nearly 6 months old which is nearly an eternity when it comes to these topics.
So, what is the word on this? Is there a certain version of HTC Home I should use, and are there fixes I need to do? Thanks a lot, and sorry if this has been answered elsewhere.

I have used it successfully using the 6 tab home plugin.
I used this one in post #760.
The program isn't as glitzy as M2D, but is very functional.

works just fine... using it now HTC Home Customizer Final

How is that version comparing to old kaiser htc home v.2.0.81 version? Its the only version I have ever used and works great.

I had problems until I downloaded the HTC Home Customizer program at http://www.pocketemu.com after having problems and read this solution in a forum. When you run the Customizer, it detects that you don't have HTC Home Plugin installed and prompts you to download it. This downloaded the "correct version" of HTC Home Plugin for my phone and works great on my XV6800 with the the MR1 update and likewise with the the latest MR2 update.

5-tab HTC Home Plugin?

Does anyone know where I can get a CAB for this? I'm using the "official" WM6 AT&T ROM, if that makes a difference.
google it, like i've done more or less like htc home.cab , easy isn't it?
There's one knocking around here called 'Kaiser' I think.

Look at the windows mobile 6 section, there is a whole thread about all the kaiser apps with posted cabs like the 5 tab home plugin (It seems there's a 6 tab home plugin, official but doesnt work yet)
here it is
i've attached the five tab htc home plugin
remember to disabele the htc homeplugin before installation if you already have it installed

HTC Home Plug-in

Ok, I have looked all over the place, searched, whatever and found nothing that answers my question. I ran a .cab file a guy linked me to over on HoFo. It said it installed but I couldn't find it anywhere... It even listed it as a program when I removed it... So what's the deal? I have a T-Mobile MDA with a stock 1.08IPL/SPL rom and it's a G3.
You have a stock 1.08???
OMG!!! I had that rom some 2 years ago when I first got my beloved Wizard.
...and I am not 100%, but I feel pretty strongly that the 1.08 rom could be your problem with the HTC Home not working. Also, to my knowledge, there is only 1 specific HTC Home that has been able to run on WM5...I could be wrong about that, as I haven't used WM5 for a few months now...but when I did, I only found one that worked...but I was running a stock Tmo 2.26 rom.
Any guru here wanna chime in and confirm or deny my thoughts on this?
Helmi's HTC Home plugin is the only version I have ever had work on WM5. The weather and media tabs don't work for me even so...so I removed them, using the HTC Home Customizer.
Helmi's file attached (cab) cause I couldn't find it on the web...get the customizer yourself.
After messing with this thing for about an hour or so I've just decided to stick with my Spb Weather and Phone suite until I decide to upgrade ROMs..

HTC Home Problem

Hi,
I am having trobule with hTC Home 2.0 plugin on my HP 614c (same problems happens on my mio a702). I have installed a few different 2.0 versions but none of them work. They all install fine but the HTC Home Today screen never starts. It is my same regular today screen. I even installed sdkcerts and cert_spcs when trying the Kaiser Home v2.0.814.722.
I have HTC Home checked in the today settings. I have rebooted but my same today screen always loads. 1.5 HTC Home worked but with the mail
and weather issues I want to use 2.0
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
anyone? need to get this resolved.
I posted a modifed version of HTC Home 2.1 a while back that should work on any device; search for my posts and you should find it.

Confirmed, but additionally you have to replace the HTCHome.dll file. On iPAQ it is stored at /Windows and file for replacement you will find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327646&page=24 (post #231). Confirmed on my 614c.

Best HTC Touch Home / TouchFlo app?

I'm looking for the 'best' version of the HTC Touch / TouchFlo Today screen app - not the one line thing, but the nice 1/2 screen black interface with the clock.
Before I get flames - I did search both of the Titan threads here; however, a lot of the links provided pointed to nothing or to sites that are no longer available. The one that I did find seemed to hose up my XV6800 (luckily I was able to boot into safe mode on it - I use iLauncher - and then remove the app which fixed the hang). So I want to see what everyone else is using for this application, and which version is the 'best' - by that I mean that uses the least memory, has the most features (5 tabs would be my minimum), etc.
Thanks everyone for any advice, links, etc.

Is this what you are looking for:

If so you can just install the HHC app and it will install the HTC home plugin. Configure it to not use the weather as that is the memory leak.
HHC is the best one that i have found and works really well

What's a good alternative weather app?
I was using the SPB Mobile suite with the Diamond skin prior to flashing with the just released Verizon WM6.1 update.

There are a couple that I have seen:
SPB Weather:
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/weather/?en
GPSToday:
http://www.geoterrestrial.com/
I have only used GPSToday and uninstalled as it didn't seem to work consistently with the Titan GPS, but still nice Today plugin.

Oh ok. So the SPB one is safe to use then. Great...I had SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 so i've just reinstalled it along with the greatball Diamond theme. Looks like i'm all set again.
I've got this running now on WM6.1

Weather Watcher from Singers Creations, it's completely free, and has very detailed weather info. Hourly/Daily/maps/alerts, etc.
Unfortunately it's not a today plugin program, it has to be launched by hand. It also keeps track of how much data it's transferred so you can get an idea if it will exceed your quota from your provider. Tho I think most of us have unlimited plans.

Sorry, Jambrose, but the latest one you specified at http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=235876 is the one I tried before. Once I install it, and try to go to the Today control panel applet, the Titan hangs. When I soft-reset it, it boots up, but as soon as it gets to the Today screen, ActiveSync (window) pops up on it, I get an error message from Voice Command, and then it hangs. Over and over.... Luckily I use iLauncher and used the safe restart mode and removed it. Once I did that everything went back to normal.
There is something about this version of the app that doesn't like the Titan or dcd's particular ROM.
Any ideas anyone? And dcd, if you read this, any chance of you adding the HTC app to your ROM kitchen as an optional install? (maybe then it would work right)

I like SBSH PocketWeather - has the most information, gives you the current temp and statistics, and if you have an unlimited data plan can download at regular intervals.

anyone know how to get it to work on wm6.1?
it worked fine on my htc touch when i was at wm6, but after i upgraded the rom to wm6.1, i get a homexec error, or something like that. then on reset, it hangs like other people said.
does anyone know if this works on wm6.1?

Updates updates!

Hi I just got a new mogul yesterday and i've upgraded it to wm 6.1
and want to add the htc home plug in and customize it so
it looks like this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320323
But all the files seem to outdated, I've been looking on ppc also and most of the thread's are from early 2007.
I dident want to mess up my phone with outdated software so I was wondering if you would be able to help me out with what I need to do.
Thanks.
Search for the HTC HHC application. It is the HTC Home Plugin customizer.
Uninstall HTC Home plugin and then install HHC and let it download the Home plugin. then you can customize the heck out of it and most likely add that theme from the page you listed.
