Add numbers to the in-call screen of dialer? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

It is driving me nuts that I can't easily access the numeric keypad during a call. I have to always remove the phone from my ear, unlock it, press the little "show keypad" key and then type. And I have to do this for each response.
On the Touch HD there is a huge amount of screen real estate left black whilst WinMo shows the "in-call screen". I can't believe it would be so difficult to add the digits 0-9 on that screen which can give off DTMF tones during a call.
The problem is, as a non-coder, I can't figure out where to begin and understand which files I need to change and how. Can anyone help? I would need a lot of hand holding but I'm willing to learn and become a real contributor to these forums in the process.

Treo 700p dialer is cool

how come there is not pocket pc dial that is simple with big buttons on screen like the treo? I've seen a few dialer apps that try to make the buttons bigger but then just end up adding 100 features that really aren't needed when dialing with your finger on the touch screen.
it would be cool to just have big number buttons, then a speaker, mute, hold when connected and maybe link to the contact to auto suggest a number if you input like 4-5 numbers of a contact that is already there. something simple. i like using my device with one had and not having to pull out the stylus to make a phone call. i don't have to do that right now but a display like the 700p would be twice as nice

I've broken a key!!

Oops.. so I was sat today talking to friends waiting for a reply via text and had my phone in my hand with it slid out and I I was just playing with the keys with the end of my nails and caught my nail on the right softkey button. (the one that'd open Contacts) and now its kind of poking up at an angle and won't go back down! Tried to take photos of it but the macro on my camera isn't too good!

Any ideas what I can do? I never use this button so if there's a fix for it that'll keep it down but not as usable as the other keys, it'll do. It doesn't catch when I close the slide, but its annoying me loads!
I dont want to use my insurance because it'll just mean me not having a phone for ages, etc.

some super glue perhaps?

I can't find my Touch Keypad

Hi,
I have HTC Wizard. I installed a touch keypad and keyboard last year and unistalled it. After that I decided the best keyboard is this keyboard. But I couldn't it in anywhere, freewarepocketpc.net, youtube, xda-developers, google, google-images. I found only nothing about it.
It has big buttons, a T9/123/ABC selections button, tree color selection(blue, grey, black). Also you write a word, after that you must select the word to write above it. It didn't write to the text before you select the correct word. Actually it is not a keyboard, a keypad.
If anyone know or guess a keypad, please send me link or picture or name.
thanx
Is this what you're talking about?

Quick consecutive taps mistaken as swipes.

Hi guys,
The touchscreen in my J7 Pro often misinterprets two consecutive taps as one swipe ending in the second tap. This makes a pain to type a message in this phone. The problem is illustrated in this screenshot

which is the result of typing *#0*# and activating the "Touch" test. I just alternated tapping on the left and right side of the screen and you see that many times (but not always) I get a swipe.
I have tried modifying the dexterity settings to no effect. I read somewhere that you can change the sensitivity of the screen at a lower level by rooting the phone and editing some configuration files but I have to yet find some clear instructions about what to do exactly...
Do you have any ideas to try to solve this?
Cheers,
Eduardo
P.S.: The touchscreen was changed recently but the old one gave the same problem although in a lesser degree.
