Asus Glide

Is anyone working on porting this to other devices ? I found a thread in the general-general section without feedback so i think its not well known what Asus brought out with his p320 device, but it runnes on a slow 200 Mhz cpu with QVGA with smooth animations and fadings so this or Parts of it could be interesting for us and not to hard to crack (hope so) for other devices:

would be nice, it´s a completely new concept (at least for me) and Asus really had some nice ideas. Eg the player, selecting single songs out of one album and then start to play - don´t know any other app / player that has got this feature.
Eh, you´re telling me there are playlists...I know, but this isn´t as convenient.

I really hope someone can port this too..but I rather not get my hopes up, no one has been able to port the Asus Lambo today plugin yet..only managed to skin it

well, those two are very nice graphically done interfaces that people like and both are highly customizable. But I've quit both..because it makes me reset me phone like twice a day due to memory loss

Hi there! I have Asus P320, but there is no Glide GUI in this phone. Only the today plugin is the same. My firmware is 4.10 and the latest is 4.13. There is no word about Glide in the change log.

mmhh, so u just have the today plugin and none of the applications from first Post ? i read some articles from May 2008 about glide and that it is part of the P320

It looks darn good! However, I think that the p320 only has the 2d stuff (like the opal and the m2d) on asus' homepage one can see that the p552w has the glide stuff and it has a whole lot stronger cpu than the p320 624MHz vs 200MHz. Just my two cents.

one thing i was impressed with is the icatchu it has some pretty nice features if that could get dumped out that would be nice

Truely Amazing that those run so smooth on a 200mhz CPU... god that things battery life would be rather extensive making it an excellent mp3 player for general users and since its so finger friendly it could be for anyone really.

I hv the ROM dump..I will try to post the files from it...still not sure which dlls are also reponsible.All this is kept very secret even if one dumps the ROM

ROM TouchFlo 3D on polaris...

Hi everyone,
i'm new and not expert at all on how to cook a rom or anything like that, the only thing i can do is to flash
Since i'm interested in the different developements of the ROMs for polaris, do you think there will be the possibility of having a ROM containing the touchflo 3D, like the diamond, which will work well and be stable on polaris in the recent future?
Would be really really nice... i saw that the development is at a good stage... only is in VGA resolution...

hi, is it the one from ITJE? If it's that i've already tried it, but it is still quite buggy and not very smooth (i think).
Can touchflo 3d be installed like for example manila 2d?

in my opinion, that rom is good just to have a feeling of what TF3D feels like on a polaris... it seems to be a really nice thing...
so maybe i gave you an idea for your next rom... if you would like to develop it, i would be very grateful!! i really like the manila 2d interface, but of course not as much as the TF3D, which is more modern and intuitive.

Sony Ericson Xperia X10 Rom Possibilities?

So I know that Modaco is working on Sense UI rom coming for the Nexus. I was really curious if we would se the Xperia X10's rom make its way over to the Nexus sense that one is also running the snap dragon process and same screen resolution. I personally have been so interest and find it to be a very clean looking interface.
Modaco if you have any hookups from SE. I would thank you very much from getting that over to our phones. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, link below

all ports from android to android is possible but needs some try and donations not for me but for developers working on this

That is an old video. Newer ones show that the interface has been optimized and is really fast now.
And he stated in the OP that he would like to have it since it's very clean looking.

I sure hope that is not how it run on a 1GHz SmapDragon CPU...
Anyway, it looks nice, would have to see it in more details to decide though.

New 1.5 ROM being built---I need your ideas!

Hey guys, I'm creating a rom, but I have to be honest: I need ideas on what to include. All I know is I'm thinking about basing it off Gumbo 1.5c (The FASTEST rom out there), because I hate slow phones. Also thinking of names for it...how's Pancake sound? Fits in with cupcake, donut, etc...
What do you guys want in a ROM?
What bootscreen is good for it? Should I use the N1 boot screen? If anyone feels like making one, I'll be happy to include it!
Which apps are a must for any ROM?
Is Pancake a good name for it?

Can you include a spoon, a pair of scissors, a fish scale, and a can opener.....?

Well what consider a must have is the quickboot app and the mount usb app that gbill included in his roms..... of course wireless tether , also gbill's custom kernal
Other then those everything else I use is in the market

I would consider making almost the same as stock ROM with all the apps and features. But here are some changes to be made:
1) Theme, here is my old phone and developers create much better stuff for it than any developer for Hero.

Okay, well, I will try to get the icons for android 2.1, apps2sd will be enabled, the youtube app I will look at, but I'm not sure what I can do about that. I can't do anything about flash, as the hero includes flash player lite, not 10. I will include it when there is flash player 10 for android, but for now I can't do anything for it.

If you want a grill, just run wireless tether for awhile, flip over your phone and cook right on the back of the battery cover. It'll be hot enough.

my old iphone 3g did the same thing when i ran pdanet. and my macbook...wow that thing gets really really hot. Im sure frying some eggs would be entirely possible.

How about this: I make two versions. One with sense and one without. I have to tell you though, that the version of sense I'll put on will be optimized and fast.

Make sure it's a new theme Sense UI ... with squared buttons on the bottom not round!

I will try, but I need someone to do themes. Also I want to push a initial release out, coming very soon, maybe if I get a theme designer I'll be able to include it.

HTC Sense UI 2.2 (froyo) video

One of our members, udK, posted this video of him running HTC's Sense UI on Froyo. He is running the test build, and so far it looks great!
IT IS OUT! For desire only right now, but the devs are about to start porting, currently confirmed 2 Devs are porting.
UPDATE: Desire ROM 2.2 is fully working I assume, as the devs working on it say it might be out by tonight. Hopefully the Nexus will get a full port by tomorrow... No promises from either parties though.
Another update: Not coming until tomorrow evening.

was hoping HTC would update the overall look of it to sexify it a bit more like they did between 1.5 and 2.1 Sense UIs

I think they did a tiny bit, The title bars seem flat now, compared to 2.1's rounded look. Looks sleeker.
Still wouldn't mind it, it gets 39MFLOPS, meaning JIT is there!

yea just modaco, not King. its basically the same thing anyways
anywho, i love sense ui and i would love to have this on my nexus one. it just seems like these nexus one roms dont have enough space memory for apps so id hope we have the option for Apps2SD

Well if the Desire can do 720p recording without any hacks, I suspect the Google folks will have to get on and sort out the N1's camera, else they're giving the Desire a large advantage over the N1.

What I really like and is essential is the better quality apps for Exchange support, Email/Calendar etc..are so much better from the Desire Rom, the features/options are much richer than the stock Rom. Simple things like move an item from you inbox to a subfolder in exchange doesn't exist on the stock Android.
It's the only reason I run Desire Rom on the N1 personally.
If it weren't for the Desire Rom, I likely would have sold the N1 shortly after purchase and went back to the iPhone. Sad I know. Still can't play GSM wav files from my Avaya modular messaging server though the Android without the RemoveWave app...Froyo didn't fix that either.
That stuff is 101 WinMo, iPhone, Blackberry device support...Android/Google can't seem to get one simple thing working like this in their Rom.

I got to play with an Incredible today. I liked Sense UI. It was slick. Quite a bit of work went into it and it felt smooth and polished. Quite nice. My N1 is better now that I have ADW.launcher, but I'd love to try out Sense UI on here for a while.
Hopefully CM6 will have a nice interface and all, I think I might finally unlock my N1 to get CM6. Hopefully I can get something like Sense UI on there as well.

CM doesn't change the interface at all but you can apply themes and morphs to it to change the overall look.

I've used sense UI so much but I just can't get into it over vanilla android. It's very existence is in a way making any sense UI phone a closed source device dependent on HTC to update. A whole second layer of someone interfering. Give me standard android!

I hope with the release of Gingerbread, Sense won't be some of the things we Vanilla users sometimes crave.

LOL the phone function of the rom doesnt even work. im pretty sure he just downloaded uDKs rom and use dsixdi rom kitchen to port it

i have tried it this morning but its not usable
the graphics is scattered and i was not getting the cellular network
its like very very very alpha and can't be used.....i didnt check anyother options
