Media xperience panel problems - XPERIA X1 General

Has any one else been having problems with the media panel?
I've got a memory card with some music on it, and a lot of it plays fine, but there some songs do not. When I try to play them, it just skips to the next one. The weird thing is, the problem is only with the media panel. If I use windows media player and select the files, they play just fine.
I'm also having problems with the song information with several of them. When browsing my music, the song names, artists, albums, etc. arent registering for some reason. It just lists the file names, and says 'unknown artist'. I used windows media player on my computer and filled in the information, then put the files back on my xperia, but it still doesnt show up.
Has anyone else had any of these problems, and does anybody know of any solutions?

On the road panel - trouble adding music

Hi,
How do i make the on the road panel play music if there are folders inside a main folder?
For example...
This is my folder structure
Storage Card > Music > And then various artists folders...
I want all the music inside the Music folder to be played... but it's not doing that
The panel is gorgeous by the way.
wtf is the "on the road" panel?
Is you are talking about the Sony Ericson Media Player Panel, the music should be recognized immediately. Make sure it's mp3.
Sadly, I dont believe you can do that. Not sure of any media players that can. The Media Xperiance panel might find the songs, but that one doesnt even play half of mine, and they are in MP3 and everything.
Why do you have them all in folders like that anyway? It isnt necessary or even helpful on the X1.
and for Poetryrocksalot, the On the road panel is one of the new ones, due to be released today or tomorrow. You can get them already. There's a topic with links to it around here somewhere.
I sync all my music with winamp... and it puts it in these folders...
Anyway... i will try to sync all of my music with someother software and see...
Thanks anyway.
I'm having the same issue. My music is organized the same way and on the road recognized it all once, but since then I have not been able to get it to do so. For some reason it only recognizs 40 out of the 1000 tracks I have on my card. And those are all artists beginning with A. Not sure what is going on but if you find anything the help would be appreciated!
Lot of softwares can handle structure like this. TCPMP, S2P, Core player.
You know what I think, if they make a fix for this, this fix should be a choice. Just in case some people only want 1 folder to be played, or better yet a selection of folders.
The on-the-road panel does only play the music files in the selected folder and not recursive.

Music player says "no"

Hey felas
To start with, I'm a fresh virgin in WM and just bought the Leo, flashed the ROM with 1.48.405.2 WWE and it's all a dream except ..
I go to the music player tab, play a song and in 5 to 20 seconds the song just stops playing. It doesnt pause it, just halts and when i hit the "play" button twice it plays from the start. Unusable..
I am using an 8GB SD, tried formatting it twice ( through win7 and WM ), tried uploading the songs via Media Player and by just copying them into the folder. Its all the same. Soft reseted the thing a gazzilion times and it still doesnt like me.
I searched trough the forum but didnt stumble upon anyone with a similar issue.
I give up. help?
Thanks in advance
That's frustrating. What's the format of your music files? And what's the bitrate? How do you have organized your music files. In seperate folders or in one large folder?
Just curious.
BTW, does this problem occurs constantly. I mean, if you leave your phone alone for a couple of hours and try to play the same music file then, does the same problem occur again, or is it just after an update of your music library.
appelflap this problem has been noticed by others. You might want to check out this thread which documents several solutions.
Slow Music player
try to erase the Music maps inthe sd card and create a new one,put music inthis first, more less like 200 tracks and start again the player,if this work put more music
Thank you for the assistance guys The problem were the mp3's I guess.. or the dumb HTC developer that coded the Media Player. Anyhow, I reckon i might like this forum after all.
Happy holidays
The solution ?
Hi. I experienced the same problem with my music player. I noticed that EVERYTIME I connect my LEO with a computer, whether or not I add new music files, the music player would just "stuck", find no music files, display the message "No music found" when I turn it to landscape.
Found the answer on another forum. Actually, "our" music player is unable to read some MP3 ID3 TAG... It seems to be only reliable with ID3 version 2.4 UTF-8 type tags. So what you should do is "simply" convert all mp3 files on your storage card to the appropriate ID3 format. It's not very long since you don't have to recompress the audio files! You can use mp3Tag to apply change to all your mp3s at once. More info in this threat => http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=42474
One definitive solution would be to convert ID3 tags of all your music collection! It would take quite some time... unless somebody find the way to fix this with a magic cab?
This just adds to the very long list of issues of this "wonderful" piece of technology. Thanks who?

Strange effect in Sense Music Player

Every now and again, I don't know what triggers it, the Sense Music Player doesn't recognise any tracks on the SD card. I tried searching for this, but couldn't find the exact same issue.
Take this morning: I walked to work listening to some stuff, no problems.
When I came to listen to some stuff later on, the Music Player had decided there were no tracks on the SD card. When I tilted the device to landscape, instead of the album art appearing, the three buttons (back-play-ffwd) that appear in protrait view remained in place, as did the progress bar, while the landscape bar arose from the bottom, but the device reported no music found. I reverted to portrait, and went into the library: apart from the tracks in the current playlist, it reported no other music on the SD card at all. re-booted twice, no change.
In all this, I hadn't changed the content - nothing added to the SD card, nothing. It did show the little revolving circle, so it was searching, but obviously missing the 12gig or so of tracks in album folders on the SD card (Storage Card/My Music)
I went to ActiveSync, and miraculously, Music Player had rediscovered all my music (don't know if the sync-ing is relevant).
This is by no means the first time this has happened.
Any clues as to what causes it? ID tags are created by the latest version of mp3tag 2.45c, tracks ripped to lame mp3.
rjstep3
No clue as to why it happens, but i've found that when the screen shows 'no music found'' or 'tracks have been removed' (I forget the exact wording) if you click albums, all music, , , I find all my music is still listed. Start one playing, and everything repopulates.

MP3's not being sorted properly

I'm having a weird problem. I transfer a bunch of MP3's into my music folder on my ext. SD card, everything transfers fine. When I go to view them in any music player (stock or 3rd party), the titles aren't in order. I want them A-Z, but sometimes they will go from W-Z for the first few songs, then A-Z after that, etc. This happens mainly in the album view. Anyone else have this problem?
Songs are sorted by their tags, and not the name you gave them. Only if there is no tag available will it use the name.
I didn't have any sorting problem with the stock samsung player or any custom rom player so far.

Not Showing all Songs in Library

So, I'm having a rather annoying issue here. I have a very large iTunes library and I bought the 128GB version so I could fit all 35gb of music on my phone without running out of space. The problem is that it shows there is 35gb of audio files in storage but when I open my music player app (currently using shuttle) and select play all songs, it only shows there as being 2,492 songs in the list (thats just a little more than half of the over 4K songs in my music library). So basically I'm missing out on almost half of my music when I go to shuffle and I can't figure out why. There is nothing I can find on the music player forums or on the phone forums for this. Does anyone know why?? Halp

Did you rescan your media library? - This needs to be done for the phone to detect any changes since plugging in via usb
Are all your songs the same format? - This is important if some are different formats the phone may not necessarily pick them up

Interestingly enough, it shows all the songs in Poweramp which I think is weird... They both support the same file types.. I'm wondering if it's some sort of thing that all players have that limits the amount of songs shown in the queue
