NOTE: This skins are NOT for MWC2. They are skins for the Windows Mobile Cursor Application, while MWC2 is a replacement of that application and it has it's own skins.

I made a new skin for WM5 wait cursor. I was very bored of WM5 waiting cursor which is very ugly and "old fashioned".
After I tried a WM6 OS and noticed that it's really cool, I decided that also our WM5 world must have that wait cursor.

Nope, I took the original WM6 cursor from a WM6 ROM and replaced the resources to the file used by WM5 OS.

hahah ouch, you say that as if we're lesser beings. well the only reason i haven't upgraded to wm6 is because, i don't really need it. i do like how its presentation is a bit slicker, but the other additional features of wm6 are just things that i don't often use. as i read somewhere on these forums, there's no need to upgrade unless i'm having problems with wm5. i'll wait 'til the kaiser for my fix of wm6
anyway, thanks, marshall, for this modification. one of those nice little things that you don't think about having, until you actually get it, and you realize how much nicer it is. thanks again, works perfectly for me.

It is "Vista LITE" skin for wisbar advance.
You could also like the "Vista Beta TWO" skin.
You'll find a lot of wisbar skins at Wisbar Advance 2.x Skins Forum.

is it posible to take the mui your program creates, and edit it with reshacker?? I'd like to experiment myself with different icons (or deleting them). Do you think changing the actual bmp with 1x1 pixel size bmp would work in order to make the icon disapear?

You can take the original mui you have on your device or you can take the not localized exe and edit it with any resource editor. This is the way I used to make that skin. You can also find other localized languages at MioSoft, the no nonsense mirror for Mio A701 software (click on Marshall Skins and then on gews files).
I think that resizing the bitmap to 1x1 will work (I tried using a small bitmap but I don't remember the effect).
However you'll always have a dot in your screen if the bitmap is 1x1.
I also tried using the "transparent" color (255,0,255) but it don't work.

The point is that i can't copy the mui in the device as it's protected by the system. I edit the mui your program creates (reshacker or xn resource editor), change the language to spanish (0C0A) and when i copy it back to the device, even if the file has changed, the symbol is the wm5 original.
I'm sure it's not that difficult but i'm getting stacked at this point. Could you please help me? Or if you could make and icon with 1x1 pixel size it would be great!!!
PS: The folder with gwes languages in the miosoft webpage is empty...

One point now though. If you have it launch other apps/programs (Contacts for example) could you make those links be customizable!

I think i'll use a XML file to configure the app. But a lot of features will be build in, like the contacts for example.

Don't forget 2 essential parameters - speed and stability. We had many UI in the past which lacked these 2 things, something that limited their use IMO.

Really like the way it looks, definitely want to try it, when its done.

Actually i'm working on the app which will retrieve data from the phone (contacts, appointments, tasks, unread messages, missed calls... ) and send them to my swf app.
I also tested my first working release on my Hermes WM6.1, it's quite fast for the moment. I hope that it will be that fast with animations.

For all who do not feel comfortable to just copy and overwrite files, simply rename the .ZIP into .THEME and apply using the customizer.
Only issue (and that's one a lot of people fight with) is that an applied wallpaper does not appear under all tabs, just at the home tab*. Not a big deal for me because everything else is plain f-ing beautiful!

If there is a capital H or HH it's 24 hours
Small h or hh is 12 hours with AM / PM and leading zero (hh) or not (h)
BTW for some of us 24 h clocks are just regular - LOL

MaTT, good point, I forgot to copy mine into the windows dir after flashing the last time. BTW muns02 CAB works to get "background in all tabs"

n1 TAB icons what do you mean with this?
The top icon bar is Carneros patched Task bar and what you see to the left is WKTask1200a.
After playing with your skin I do have two questions:
Though I don't run the default background (the bluish waves polar lights kinda style), I've seen ONCE that same background but in a redish style after initial install. Couldn't find it anywhere on my device!?!
Any chance that you make a CAB out of your clock. I'm afraid changing to my black clock and do a full reinstall to go back to the transparent one.
If you can tell me which manila files represent the clock I may be able to do it myself.

i'm also zealous of this beautiful taskbar, great work from the developer! but on my diamond there are still the standard icons for "start" and the antenna (which represents the signal strenght), tough i have installed the sdkcerts cab. can anyone help me? (i'm using original german rom 1.93.407.1).

You need sdkcerts (guess you have this already) and the icon set you want.
They float around in the forum (there are 100s), the ones in my screenshot are called Carnero_s_Patched_TaskBar

Very nice theme tried it out and I like... However I'd have to disagree with the above statement (beauty is in the eye of the beholder)

I had a shellres.192 file to have a green SE start menu icon and the bouncing waiting icon. If I use that file after I install the icons will it break something or will I have your icons + start icon + bouncing icon?

YES YOU CAN !!
shellres.192.dll is almost intact on this set, yes you can replace it
this way, people can make their own combinations
you will only loose 2 icons: loudspeaker & multinotification

Need the same with the blue SE logo

I guess i'll live without those two icons, don't see them too often. But maybe you can make another build with those SE logos for start and wait installed already.
Or perhaps too many versions will confuse people...

thanks for this working 6.5.1 taskbar. The htc original is so bloody boring and all the 6.5 versions I tried screwed up the bottombar :-/

You need to make Picture Images
for all different kinds of Cabs
so we know before trying
that would be real nice

Are all very similars, only change in some ones the BT and signal icons. You can test by yourself...

I tested only for GSM, and I dont know if will run on CDMA...

I would like to stay with old coloring icons in WM default call history instead of white ones. Is it possible to get them back by just restoring single file or so?

I used the originals dll of 6.5.1...only should change the taskbar...what build do you have???

these look good
