Hi all,
All is on the title. I'm looking for a program that can lock only some programs with a code. For example, I don't want to lock my device, I only want to lock with a code my acess to Outlook.
I have search without sucess
Thanks for your help
I would also like this, I've seen somewhere an app that blocks view to sms and such I would like to block media viewers/internet browsers etc.
i would like an app that allows selective blocking/filtering of PIM data and text messages and hotmail and push email and gmail based upon the categories of the contacts or pim data
There isnt software to block but underlying core data to be hidden. many do hide sms but not email not contacts and not calendar events. all can be done categories!

Are there any programs available to password protect the Messaging program?
This is needed when you let other people use your phone for making calls or browsing the internet, but would like to restrict access to the messaging application (i.e. all email / text messaging / mms accounts). I use Cingular's XPressMail for my work email in addition to Hotmail and text-messages... and would like an envelope application to protect these accounts with one password, whichever way the user accesses them:
- by clicking the messaging button OR
- by tapping on the messaging program icon OR
- by coming in thru Pocket MSN OR
- by clicking on "Send new message" in the contacts folder
Please help, Thanks,

Messaging password protection
nobody got any solutions here for this 8125?!?
Is there any way of removing/hiding mailboxes from the default messaging application?
I currently have:
Hotmail
MMS
Outlook E-Mail
Text Messages
Windows Live
But I don't need them all, and they get in the way. So i'm wondering, would it be possible for me to remove:
Hotmail
MMS
Windows Live
from the messaging application, so they don't get in the way, and take up valuable screen space? I don't want to have to remove any programs if I can avoid it, nor do I want to use a different messaging application.
Hi. I was wondering, if there is a possibility to download mail from multiple eMail accounts to one folder in the default messaging application in Windows Mobile 6 ? Right now I'v got 2 different folders for 2 eMail accounts. I want one folder (for example "eMail"), where I can recieve eMails from those two accounts. Possible ? Maybe any plugins to do that. Did some search, but found nothing (anyway still searching ;p ). I was using FlexiMail 2007 for a while, which has this function ("Local folders" folder), but I want to use default messaging program. Thanks for any answers.
i'm pretty sure it would at least require a 3th party program intergrating with outlook to manage that
easy workaround would be forwarding all mails to a gmail or hotmail or something from the other mailbox's and just have that in outlook
Dear Diamonders,
Microsoft has a bug in the filtering of active tasks, right?
How have you managed to get it working? What is the third party software that just does the trick? I am not really interested in fancy PIM solutions that used color categories, etc. Just want the filter to work.
thanks in advance,
Tarmo
It works for me.
I'm synchronising with Outlook 2007, which does have colour names as default categories, but I have deleted those and created new categories for my contacts. The Diamond is allowing me to assign those new categories to tasks and filter them just fine.
I am also using Outlook 2007.
Are you saying that when opening tasks and selecting - menu - filter - all tasks/active tasks, you are getting only tasks from today and active tasks from the past. I am getting all tasks that have future date...
Or are you talking about contacts?
thanks,
Tarmo
I have just got a new hd2 through my insurance and synched with google to get my contacts back. However I also need to synch with my work exchange to get my appointments. Rather than have 2 synchs - I just used google to save my contacts - I removed the google synch. however this means my contacts dissapear.
Is there any way to keep my contacts on the handset without maintaining the sych?
Cheers

oops if a mod can change the title to have "synching issues with contacts" that would be delightful.

Click to collapse
click 'edit post', then 'go advanced', then you can edit the title.
first, i am assuming you are using windows mobile.
second, what i understand is that you want to sync only with your work place server and you somehow need to have your contacts as well.
one option could be to merge your contacts with your work place server.
also, try this...sync with google to get your contacts downloaded back to your device. then use "pimbackup" to back up your contacts to a file on your sd card. then remove the google synch. now, set up your work place synch. finally, restore the pimbackup of contacts you made earlier.
i'm not sure how your work place server would behave now that your device will suddenly have all of these contacts restored from your backup. the partnership MIGHT cause your contacts to merge into your work place server automatically, which could be a good thing because then you would have everything on one server to sync with.
cheers I will try pimbackup.
I want to keep my personal / works stuff (contacts) separate, however I want my appointments on my work calender. I refuse to use my minutes for work lol.
so I only synch contacts on google and calender on exchange.
@ASCIIker
synch google, pim backup, remove synch, pimrestore worked.
Cheers
that pimbackup is a GEM of an app!
highly recommended for those that want to stick with windows mobile. i used to have it automatically back up (to my sd card) all my contacts, call logs, and sms messages every 3 days. i had set the process to take place at midnight every 3 days and the whole operation (300 call logs, 300+ contacts, and 7000+ sms messages) would take a meager 1.5 minutes on the HD2!!! restoring was just as fast, except for sms messages (because sms message restore triggers "re-threading" of conversation threads).
on android, setting up the device with a google account handles contacts. an app called "sms backup and restore" handles sms backups (have it set to 3 days here as well). but have found NO app on android that neatly backs up and restores call logs, let alone all THREE items (call logs, contacts, and sms messages)!
cheers from pakistan!
