Hi.
Im having a problem with my diamond. Its seems it will not stop vibrating whenever a call comes in. Instead of short repeating vibrations its now one long vibratiiiiiiooooooooooon. You get the point.
Why is this? Am I alone with this problem?
Thank you.
//
Im using:
Official 2.03 ROM
S2U2
this is no problem...
its the normal vibration behaviour..
somewhere in the development and hacking section there is an application which lets you "customize the vibration pattern" (search these words)
Place the phone in your pocket. It may not solve the vibrating problem but you'll find that you suddenly don't care anymore!

Hi Skeptisk, have you got Microsoft Voice command installed? As had the same sort of problem and other random issues and in my case it was caused by MSVC. Other than that please list your installed apps and tweaks you've made and I'm sure someone will be able to help you.
you must change the registry entry for that
go to HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0 and change the value from Script to av1pw3r
the v0 or v1 or v2 stands for the seconds the phone is vibrating
0 is endless and 1 is 1 sec vibration etc....
just use valert but you will have to not use htc volume control, because it's a bug in that program, works fine with the standard WM vol control tho

I searched and cannot find the answer I am looking for... Hope I am posting in the right forum for this particular topic.
Anyway - I recently flashed my ROM to DCD's 3.1.2. I missed a step in the process and ended up with a Sprint phone for a day or two before I had time to switch back.
One thing I REALLY liked about the Sprint version was that when I had the phone set to vibrate and I got a text message or email, it gave two or three quick little vibrations... Now, after flashing properly, my vibration notifications are what they were with Verizon's stock ROM - an extremely long and loud vibration that draws more attention in a meeting than if I had the sound on!!
Any ideas on how to change the vibration back to what the Mogul has? I really like the quick and quiet vibrations.
Thanks!
Nobody? Should I have posted this in the Upgrading forum instead?
Just in case I didn't post clearly: When in vibrate mode and receiving a text, email, phone call, etc., on my Verizon xv6800 with DCD's 3.1.6 rom, I am getting one long buzz that is quite embarrassing while sitting in a meeting.
What I am looking for is to have it give two or three quick buzzes. I don't want a program to do this - I want to know if anybody has a registry hack or even a CAB file they have developed for this???
Like I said originally - when I accidentally flashed with Sprint's customizations, I got the three quick buzzes...
Anybody know the registry difference between Sprint's customizations and DCD's or Verizon's that causes this long buzz???
Thanks!
Ok - that's weird that you get a long buzz on a vibrating text notification. I'm using an XV-6800 with the stock ROM and get three short vibrations when I get a text message or e-mail notification.

this has been covered before. First, you need a registry editor, as one does not come on our phones. I use PHM Regedit. Navigate here from within the regeditor:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VIB]
Edit the following:
"STRENGTH_LOW"=dword:00000000 (click on the name and change the "value data:" to 0)
wait 10 seconds or so, soft reset, and problem solved!
btw, PHM regedit can be found here if you need it: http://www.phm.lu/downloads/download.aspx?{940B734A-C437-41C7-ADED-2A4418802FD3}
i highly recommend you use the desktop installer to ensure you get the correct version on your phone.

Hey All,
I've been having this problem with inordinately long vibrations as well. (Sprint Mogul, running 20270)
I went to make the change mentioned in the previous post, and it's already set to 0. Does anyone else have any other ideas?
Note this is the vibrate that occurs when sound is *on* not off... I want to be able to get a vibration in addition to the sound for when I'm in a loud location.
Any help is greatly appreciated
I agree. I hate the extremely long/loud vibrate notification and would love to know how to change it?!

I can confirm this fix working on the VZW XV6800.
works
yes, it shortens it...however, its still 3 short bursts....I wish it could be 1 quick bzzz...
I have seen this bug since the initial days of the X1. Recently after upgrade to the R2 version the problem still exist.
I just have the following things installed in the phone:
Xperia tweaks
David Andrs Batti
Facebook panel
A_S S2U2
A_C S2V
HTC TOuchflo 3D HD Beta 2
Pubba TouchFLO 3D Panel
HTC Enlarge Start Menu
HTC HTC Volume
I always use the TF3D as my defaul panel. I simply love the interface.
The issue is when the phone comes in nothing happens when i press the ANSWER button. I can reject the call but cant answer it. I need to restart the phone and things are fine again.
I think the culprit is
S2U2 or TF3D.
P.S. In s2us i dont use the slide to answer fuction.
Someone else has similar issue.
Its really irritating.
I would blame TF3D because it's the only thing you seem to have on your phone which is known to cause problems.
S2U2 works fine here, but maybe you have something done wrong in the S2U2-settings.
Try setting everything off except:
- Lock when device wakes up
- Power Save mode
- Safe mode
- Display Mode: DirectDraw
Also be sure you have the latest version installed www.ac-s2.com

Have you tried a hard reset and then not installed either (and possibly nothing else) for a few days to see if indeed it is a software issue and not a hardware fault?
it happens to me too
by any chance, do you have your phone in a pouch and then when you take it out, it switches to landscape mode from portrait and then you can press anything? thats what happens to me...
Actually I've experienced the same issue and I've posted in the Official S2U2 thread.
My thoughts is that S2U2 is the culprit, because I don't even have TF3D installed (nor ever did). I have been wrestling with trying to fix it for the past 3 hours, and I've come up with nothing!
I have seen this before and I think it is the way that the official WM caller ID tab works. It seems to always want to 'fight' another program for focus. S2U2 has a difficult time with the first call (also the first time the WM caller ID tab makes it's first appearance), but after a restart/reload of iLock2.exe, everything is fine for me.
This really sucks because I've had to resort to the default caller ID tab so that I don't miss anymore calls!
If you think thats a issue let me try setting up S2U2 to SLIDE TO ANWER option and see if it works for me.
there is a problem with WM6.5 roms lock slider:
if a call comes in & the lock is active but the phone is in suspend (power off or manually pressed the power button) the call will show "unknown caller"
you will not see the name until you answer od then you can see it later as missed call
this is annoying as you can not screen the calls & answer/ignore the ones you like
the slider lock will show the name only if the sceen has not turned off yet (did not enter suspend mode yet)
is there any fix out there?
I am thinking if someone knows how to make the screen light dim firest the turn off only (without power off / suspend) then it will work
anyone has a registry tweak to just turn screen off & leave the ppc running without suspend?
or any other fix????
i like to use the wm6.5 lock, i know i can use S2U2 but i prefer this one & hope we can fix it
thanks
Same issue !
Same problem here...
i use Chobit Company SmartLock and HTC phone Canvas...
HTC phone canvas is first to present ID caller then in communication WM6.5 lock is activate by Suspend mode in communication... because Chobit Smartlock is in use... other i have the same issue like You...
unknown caller with WM6.5 lock when it s suspend mode...
i agree, if anybody knows how to solve this problem... i buy it !

hmm i couldn't get the smartlock to work for me on my xperia
i used CsDevCtrl and it's sorta working... it auto locks my device if the backlight turns off or if i manually put it in suspend mode *power off button* and locks on wake up.... has a bunch of features i'd never use so it's a bit more complex than i'd like. but even with that auto lock i still get the unknown caller... i'll have to read more about htc phone canvas.. i'm not really liking the xperia dialer anyway... never have...
p.s. while we are on this topic of wm 6.5 screen lock... anyone else notice that alarms sometimes don't display the minutes if the phone is locked ? the slider works and everything for snooze and dismiss... but... it just shows the hour of the alarm.. and then dots like "10:...." even though the alarm is for 10:25...? plz post if you are also havin this problem...
again tho.. these problems might just because it's not the offical build yet... these problems may be worked out with an offical release... nothing i can't live with at the momemnt
so i still have no luck with this unknown caller ID issue
i am sure someone knows the registry tweak..as many programs just use screen off
for example media player as you can play music while screen is off
or S2U2 can lock / turn off screen but leave phone working unsuspended
please help
Thanks
I've noticed this also but if you use a dialer that has its own slide to unlock then it tends to work fine..at least for me anyway..
It does take about 2 seconds for it to go from unknown caller to who it actually is though..
not sure if device dependant, when a call comes in and no id showing I simply press the power button twice (off then back on) and i.d then shows
Hmmm, after showing Unknown for the Caller ID this morning, now the caller ID is showing up on wake. Strange. Only thing I have done was install the sdkcerts cab. I'll test further.
no caller id in tmobile wing after installing s2u2 1.62
Has anyone tried changing calleridmatch?
Use a registry editor and go to HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value is by default 8, i.e 8 Digits. Change that to 7 and soft reset.
I will test and see if it helps, it used to help w/wm6.1.....

Hi
i did not notice that i guess because i did not the alarm with lock screen before
but thanks for pointing it out
i fixed the problem
all what you need is to unzip the attached file..use the 2 files inside to replace the ones in "\windows" folder
i used resco explorer to replace because they are protected windows files
then soft-reset...everything works better after that & shows full clock & am/pm too
enjoy
It seems that the latest builds of WM6.5(builds 21221 & 21222) have solved this issue...

SOOO>>> has anyone else tried using a custom .mp3 or .wav msg tone.. a non-short one.. i'm using one about 11 sec long.. and when the device is locked, screen on or off... and a msg comes in.. the tone cuts in and out... as soon as the device is unlocked
it stops cutting in and out... doesn't do it if the device isn't locked....

Yes. I notice that the cuts happen when the video plays (the small arrows to the left and right of the slider) Once that times out, the music is contiuous.

Thanks!! this worked for me. Using "Udk WM6.5 BETA2 21500 - base v2.04" (device= Touch Diamond)
It is only after trying to search for the answer everywhere and failing to find it, am i posting this in desperation for some help from the experts. Please help me!
Since some time, my dialer gets stuck while dialing. It happens completely randomly. When I press Talk in the dialer after selecting a number, the dialer hangs for 5-7 seconds and then suddenly it starts dialing. Sometimes the pause can be longer. I have tried Mtty - task 29, flashed number of roms - Dutty, Kwbr, Ozrom, L26 etc but the problem has not resolved with the different radios.
My dialer sometimes completely hangs and i have to reset the phone for it to work again. Its driving me crazy and sometimes the phone hangs at very crucial times.
Please help me !
u forgot to try ROMeOS4

Hi Folks,
I´m still looking for a way to disable the hardware-keys while the devide is in sleepmode. Only the Powerbutton should wake up the device. And also only the screen-slider should answer or dismiss an incoming call....
I cant believe that there ist still no solution for this problem....
And please dont answer me with: use s2U2 or other 3rd Party stuff... there must be an other way to do so

you have to.
I'm also interested in this. Why wake up the phone with another button then the one who put it in sleep in first place. I find it strange. Like if I put the light off in the kitchen then opened the fridge the kitchen light will come on. who would like that ???
Can someone find a solution for this I search everywhere with no satisfying result.
I newly updated my Topaz from 6.1 to 6.5.3 and I can't recall that I had this problem in 6.1 and i had 6.1 for over 1 year.
I would say that this issue has nothing with screen lock to do it's rather an issue with wake-up (What shall wake up the phone from sleeping status : a call, sms, mms, mail, hardware key, power button etc...)
Just when I decided to post my problem I found it's solution:
Set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd\DefaultKeyLock to 0.
Now nothing wakes-up the phone except the power button.
I found a cab posted also here is the link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=246722&d=1258236796

i´ve made the changes in the registry, but still every button wakes up my device. So this "tweak" won´t work for me
Well I know after posting for about 3 - 4 hours I got the problem back myself not understanding what I have done to get the problem back. Yesterday evening I spent all night trying to figure this out. I have CHT Lock screen enable + BharS_OBOE_Lock_Disable.Cab. I need this cab because I have Huashan lockscreen built in my rom. And the cab allows me to use the CHT lock screen. To solve my problem I have done the following:
1) Disable CHT lockscreen
2) Uninstalled the Cab
3) made sure the registry setting was there and problem solved.
3.1) reinstalled the cab
3.2) enabled the CHT Lockscreen
Still working...
4) Went to power option the win 6.5 setting just to take a look (didn't change a thing)
5) Problem returned.
Start all over again to solve my problem.
For now on I'm staying out of the power option in win 6.5 setting.
There is nothing you can do there anyway until CHT lock screen come with an option for enabling password on lock.
I'm sorry I don't have any scientific explanation for this. But till now I can say I have solved my problem hope it solves yours
I'm using WWE"Topaz Roms + Kitchen"Build 23130/21914"Manila 2.5.20182814.0"(August 20th)
No, this couldn´t solve my Problems, because i use CHT 1.6.1 and this version doesn´t have any Lockscreen options.
The real Point that i can´t understand is: This is still a WinMo 6.5 Version, why is the Menue-point : Lock all buttons except Power on/off not there?
There must be a way to get this point back. I can´t belive that we have an extra written WinMo Version for the HD2...
So, where is the registry setting to get back the point?
+1000
I also hate this problem with HD2 FYI. I had already opened a post on this a few weeks back.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=694109
Have your tried uninstalling CHT making sure the reg key above is set and Test ?
this needs to happen... any key to wake is just silly! and on a related point, only the on-screen slider should answer/reject an incoming call
